Sophia's POV

I walked downstairs the next morning after a long shower feeling myself just needing to take the time to relax and reflect on everything that's happened, I was intending on making some breakfast for myself and Hayley before I met up with Niklaus or found Elijah who was still in need for a much deserved scolding for not involving me in the decision to blood steal from my baby but right as I stepped off the last step into the courtyard Nik was walking past me towards the gate out to the street.

"Where are you going?" I asked suspiciously and he stopped turning towards me eyes wide like he was surprised to see me.

"To church" he shrugged with a smirk which had me raising my eyes at him.

"Why do I find that hard to believe, you better not be going after Pape Tunde alone, especially after he all but royally kicked your ass and mine, not to mention he nearly killed Marcel-"

"Relax love, I promised I wouldn't leave you out of such ventures and I meant it but if you don't believe my honesty then by all means join me" he replied before he resumed walking out and I let out an annoyed sigh as I quickly ran to catch up with him and was indeed surprised when we came upon St. Anne's Church which looked like it was back open and welcoming visitors once again with Father Kieran at the front like any good priest welcoming everyone inside even Nik, myself and Marcel who was also here so we headed in and found seats in the back waiting for Kieran to begin his sermon.

"Thank you all for coming, it means more that I can tell you...we gather today for the first public service of our newly reopened church, St. Anne's can finally once again be the heart of our community, where we can congregate as a people united-" I felt eyes on us and turned seeing Cami looking straight towards us but more so at Marcel who was equally looking back at her. "-here, this hour, we come together to praise god and give thanks" I tried not to laugh but a small sound must have escaped because Nik smiled at me. "The events that took place at our church were tragic"

"Problem?" Nik suddenly asked making me look up seeing he was looking at Marcel so I turned towards him seeing he was looking behind us towards the other side of the church.

"No" he replied turning away from whatever had caught his attention.

"Then pay attention, we're meant to seem like devoted parishioners"

"-And it is that hope in our hearts and with the help of many benefactors that allows us to be here today, so we gather with renewed spirit made stronger, committed to the ideals of peace and love, amen"

"Amen" the congregation repeated before the sermon was finished and we all stood to exit the church.

"Lovely sermon this morning, Father" Nik said as we stopped in front of the man and I raised an eyebrow on why he was so interested in this all of a sudden, it didn't seem like Nik at all. "Quite inspirational"

"I wasn't expecting you to join us" Father Kieran stated.

"Oh we were hoping for some word from your human sources on the recent Haitian invasion" Nik replied and I understood then that he had an ulterior motive to coming today that did have something to do with Papa Tunde meaning he had lied to me again...why am I not surprised.

"My guys have their ears to the ground and no one had seen or heard any sign of whatever his name is"

"He's called Papa Tunde" Marcel reminded him. "And right now he's wandering the corridor with the power he absorbed from every soul I had buried in the garden" my eyes widened at this since this was news to me. "So you might want to put your ear a little closer to the ground"

"Or I could steer clear of whatever war is brewing between your kind and his before I find myself in-"

"I wanted to congratulate you on getting the church up and running" Cami suddenly appeared cutting the Father off and shook his hand. "I can see this is a bad time, nice to see you Marcel" she added before walking away completely ignoring Nik and I which I don't blame her for.

"Cami!" Kieran called out to her but she ignored him.

"Well don't look at me, I tried to send her away" Nik protested when they looked towards him making me roll my eyes.

"Not to be the bearer of news but you were the one that involved her in the first place too" I scoffed before his phone started ringing.

"Yes Diego, what do you have for me?" he answered it.

"Uh...we got a special delivery" I heard Diego say as I listened in not trusting to get the truth from Nik directly anymore.

"Would you care to elaborate?" Nik asked impatient not to have his time wasted obviously.

"Either our witch problems are over or they're just getting started" he replied and Nik immediately hung up.

"Marcel, Sophia" Nik beckoned us as he was already walking away and I rolled my eyes before I started following him as we returned to the compound where a sight to behold was waiting for us in the courtyard...Papa Tunde's dead body.

Nik called Elijah who returned swiftly from where ever he had gone this morning and as usual lately he immediately took over and begun inspecting the body closely not like it was obvious what had clearly killed him given the dried blood beginning from his cut open throat...the question should be who killed him and why he was left here for us.

"Can I get you anything brother, a magnifying glass, a pipe perhaps?" Nik decided to make a joke.

"You have a theory that you'd like to share with us Niklaus?" Elijah remarked standing up.

"Back in the day, the witches wanted to a threat they'd just kill a chicken and leave it on your doorstep"

"It's a large and ominous chicken" I scoffed staring down at the body.

"Papa Tunde defeated Rebekah with ease, almost got the three of us as well if he was supposed to be there prize fighter, why leave him for dead in our front yard?" Nik asked what none of us could answer and it frankly unsettled me since this had to mean that something worse was coming our way.

"Well don't you all look cheery, listen to this a girl literally exploded from a grave today as Sabine was giving her tour of the city of the dead, it was Monique Deveraux"

"What?" Nik and I asked her at the same time since how the hell was that possible when we saw the harvest fail.

"The tourists thought it was part of the show but the witches are celebrating like it's some kind of bloody miracle"

"Well maybe it is, they think that all hope is lost but now suddenly a harvest girl is resurrected" Marcel replied and I frowned. "This is how were gonna get Davina back, kill the witch that took her place"

"I have a theory about who one of them could be" Hayley suddenly said appearing at the top of the stairs and flipped down the combined drawings of Davina to show Celeste, Elijah's ex-lover. "Celeste, I mean it's got to be Davina was trying to tell us, she was drawing pictures of Celeste she was warning us that a great evil was coming"

"First Papa Tunde returns to settle old scores, now your murdered lover is back, this isn't witches attacking vampires...they're declaring war on us" Nik said and I frowned since this was just perfect.

While Nik had the mess downstairs cleaned up and I headed upstairs going into his room...or rather our room given that its still technically half mine still even though I was still sleeping in Kol's old room as morbid as that still was to me I was going to just grab my journal and head back out feeling like I had to write some stuff down to get it out of my system but before I was about to head to my room my ears picked up a conversation in the next room over which happened to be the study.

"It's precisely because I trust you that I'm asking you to do this" Elijah spoke making me frown since I was still angry at him.

"Here's a novel idea, why don't you let Hayley decide for herself, why are you dictating her fate?" Rebekah replied and I clenched my fist around my journal.

"You know why" was his response which had a tiny sliver of my anger towards him wash away knowing about his feelings towards the woman carrying my child.

"Then perhaps you should take her yourself" Bekah suggested.

"Well then that would make me the very hypocrite you've accused me of being, Rebekah I cannot legislate my feelings, my actions, however... so would you kindly do this for me?"

"You know the mama wolf loves to be told what to do, she's not gonna like it but I will do it for you"

"What are you doing love?" I jumped startled by the voice right next to me and the hand that touched my arm turning to find Nik beside me.

"Nothing, I was just grabbing this" I showed him my journal and went to leave the room but he held tight to my arm keeping me here.

"Why does it seem like your angry with me again?" he asked and I scoffed.

"I'm always angry at you Nik" I remarked with a small smile.

"Well what have I done in this grievance"

"Well you lied to me this morning, you said you weren't doing anything that had to do with Pape Tunde yet you clearly went to that church to get answers from the Father which you so eloquently left out as usual"

"I'm sorry love, I didn't realize"

"You never realize Niklaus" I rolled my eyes and went to leave again.

"Sophia please, I'm trying here"

"I know you are but you just keep making the same mistakes and right now I don't need to be focusing on trying to keep up with your lies Nik, I have to make sure the woman carrying our child is safe so from now on I'll let you do whatever it is that you figure you have to do while I focus on Hayley which is why I'm gonna take her back to the plantation house tonight, it'll be safer there while the mess is dealt with here" I replied before I pulled my arm from his grasp and left the room heading down just in time to catch Rebekah about to leave with Hayley. "Leaving without me?"

"Sophia I was just-"

"Save it Beks, I heard you and Elijah and while I'm not happy about it I agree and I'm coming with you guys" I replied before getting into the back of Hayley's car letting Bekah get in the front before Hayley drove all three of us out to the plantation house and I was actually a little surprised to find Hayley going along with this so willingly.

"I thought I was gonna have to drag you to the plantation kicking and screaming" Rebekah spoke up as we exited the car voicing the very thoughts I had on the way here.

"Yeah, well we all just wanna protect me and the baby right?" Hayley replied and I frowned at that.

"Hey, I'm on your side remember, so what gives?" I asked crossing my arms at her.

"Tonight's a full moon" she replied making me frown not seeing the relevance to the situation given she couldn't turn while carrying.

"So what you're preggers, you can't turn" Rebekah voiced before I had the chance too.

"Yes but I wanted to invite a few people over" she argued and I raised my eyes at her.

"Of course every red-blooded American werewolf will be a bundle of fur and sharp teeth tonight, whilst your cursed crescent clan will be-"

"Human but only for a few hours and won't be again until the next full moon, so...I asked Josh to get a message out to Eve in the bayou" she replied and I frowned not sure that I was okay with this and definitely not what I had in mind for tonight.

"Josh isn't dead yet well good on him, I love a nice survival story" Beks smiled making me roll my eyes at her before a man leaves the plantation with a moving dolly which put us both on the defense immediately. "Who the bloody hell is that?"

"Kegs out back, right?" Hayley asked him before clearing her throat.

"Yup" he nodded before leaving.

"Right well it appears you weren't gonna wait for us to grant you permission to throw a kegger" I scoffed sharing at look with Bekah before we looked at Hayley.

"Listen you all want me safe fine, I'll do as I'm told, I'll play damsel in the glass tower but tonight's the one night a month that I can meet my family, now you could rat me out, send me to my room or you could help me to throw one hell of a party"

"Well I'm mad at Klaus anyway so I'm not gonna call him and seems like the invite has already been sent out" I sighed shaking my head. "But I see a drop of alcohol go down your throat Hayley and I swear I will lock you in a room and force feed you for the remainder of this pregnancy since that is my baby you will be poisoning, understand"

"Noted" she held up her hands smiling.

"Fantastic" I sighed before heading inside since this was gonna be a long night and went straight up the stairs and shutting myself in the room Nik and I used while here after I forgave him the first time after we found out about Hayley being pregnant with our baby which was months ago and yet we were right back to fighting...ironic.

I watched Hayley out one of the windows as she hung out clothes for the inevitable hoards of werewolves that would be soon arriving and couldn't help the small amount of detest for the very notion of entertaining a bunch of bayou savages but I couldn't exactly blame Hayley for wanting to meet the family that she had been looking for and the whole reason she had been in New Orleans in the first place but right now what mattered to me was the baby she was carrying since it was my entire world and everything that I wanted.

"So help me god Marcel, if you don't call me back with an update I will kill you myself" I heard Rebekah say making me turn away from the window to see her at the stove cooking in preparation for these guests and smiled a little at the sight as I walked over to her.

"Am I the only one here thinking this is a bad idea?" I said but before she could reply a man walked in from the backyard completely naked and my eyes widened.

"Oh...I beg your pardon" Rebekah stuttered making me snigger a little as she clearly looked and I can't say I didn't do the same for a split second. "I was expecting someone furrier" I turned raising an eye at her.

"You're one of them, aren't you?" the man asked her. "An original?"

"Yes, you might want to say that with some more respect, even to her" Bekah remarked quickly nodding over to me. "I suppose you'll be wanting Hayley"

"Or I could just talk to you" he protested and I rolled my eyes. "I'm Oliver"

"I guess I'll leave you with this one" I laughed quickly fleeing the room seeing as it was clear I wasn't needed and if she protested I was out of the room before she even got the words out and when I walked out onto the back patio I saw the multitude of people now crowding around the party that was beginning to take place.

I let out a sigh as I watched from the sidelines since I don't know why I agreed to this but so far it seemed harmless enough and I was keeping a close watch on Hayley because as much as she wanted to believe that this was her family, while she was carrying my child I won't be trusting anyone around her because the list of people in this city that would see Nik and I's child dead is growing by the day and that worried me so I didn't trust these wolves for a second.

"Hello" I turned seeing the same guy from the kitchen earlier but now clothed.

"Hello" I replied quickly turning my eyes back towards the crowd spotting Rebekah serving up the food.

"I didn't catch your name earlier"

"Sophia"

"You're the one that's married to the hybrid" he replied sounding shocked with the revelation in which my name brought and I frowned turning to him since how did these bayou wolves even know that...well it wasn't that big of a secret but I guess I'm always a little surprised at how news travels through supernatural communities.

"Yes that would be me" I scoffed looking around wildly since I'd lost Hayley amongst the crowd and that put me on edge. "So sorry but excuse me" I pushed off the wall I was leaning on. "I'm sure Rebekah will entertain you" I pointed Beks out regrettably knowing she'll likely kick my ass for that later but I quickly left listening out for Hayley being lead inside by the sound of her voice along with one other...a males voice.

"I gotta keep my eye on you, precious cargo and all" I narrowed my eyes at that.

"Right, got to protect the miracle baby" I rolled my eyes at Hayley's reply since I wish people would stop talking about my baby like that.

"No that's not what I meant, I don't care about the baby"

"Good to know wolf" I spoke up walking around the corner and glared right at him watching his face fall at the sight of me.

"Sorry, that came out wrong" he apologized but I didn't care for his apologies. "But personally, my interest is in Hayley"

"You don't even know me" Hayley protested.

"Our parents knew each other, they were of the same people but not the same bloodline" he replied and I raised an eye at him. "Now, you know how pack hierarchy works right everybody has their part to play and we had our part too"

"What part was that?" Hayley asked him.

"You were supposed to be my wife" the guy replied and I scoffed.

"And here I thought this was supposed to be the 21st century, I'm sure Hayley can do better...now let's go Hayley I'm sure there are other guests that need your attention" I cut in and tried to lead her out but she planted her feet.

"No...I want to know more"

"You forget that is my child your carrying and its safety-"

"I'm not here to hurt the baby or Hayley" the man was quickly interrupting which made me shoot back a glare at him.

"You think I can trust a werewolf"

"Isn't your husband half wolf?" he asked and I sneered back my lips.

"That doesn't concern you"

"Hayley has the freedom to do as she pleases"

"Oh and I'm sure you're not here to force her to marry you like some sick twisted 19th century love story, well I can tell you that life doesn't work that way" I snarled feeling my fangs drop down and the veins moving under my eyes as they darkened with anger since he just reminded me so much of George Lockwood and reinvigorated my hatred for the very concept of arranged marriages.

"Sophia" Hayley called and her voice seemed to snap me back as I saw her hands cradling the swell of her stomach and my very gaze on the baby bump extinguished my anger.

"Do as you please Hayley but endanger that baby and I will lock you in a room with no chance of escape until you have that baby then throw you to the wolves you so wish to be a part of" I glared at her before I left leaving since as much as I hated it, I wasn't in control right now so I left heading out into the forest figuring I was gonna have to take a page from my little brothers book...poor Bambi.

I knew that whenever my anger reared it's nasty head that I needed to feed and figured it had been quite a couple days since I drank any actual blood and werewolf blood was just nasty and I figured that was wrong so animal blood would be enough to curb the cravings I was having even though I was a little repulsed Stefan seemed to be alive so I can't be as bad as it seems but right as I thought I was on the trail of something I could eat I felt something fall against my back and I yelled out when I felt fangs dig into my neck before they were gone and I pushed myself up with a groan reaching to touch the wound coming away with blood.

"Wolves" I growled out knowingly before I turned back to the house eyes going wide when I understood, this had been a trap. "Hayley!" I stood up only to get dizzy and the realization sunk in on what attacked me. "No..." I forced myself to stay standing as I took slow steps towards the house...the smell of smoke engulfing my nose as I saw it bellowing up from the direction of the plantation house. "Rebekah!" I yelled hoping she could here me but instead I heard a voice coming from nearby and headed towards it speeding even though it took a lot of energy I shouldn't be using right now with werewolf venom spreading throughout my system.

"You won't hurt me, I'm the only one alive who can break the curse on Hayley's family and Genevieve knows where your sister is" I recognized the voice it was Sabine "Bastianna has Klaus, tucked away some place safe, he's suffering horribly I might add and all because you chose to save the little wolf instead of your own blood" my eyes widened right as I stumbled into the clearing they were in seeing the three witches standing in front of Elijah but felt the exhaustion of using my speed hit me and I feel forward right as Elijah is brought to his knees screaming from the magic that Sabine uses to stop him from stepping towards her. "Seems your sister-in-law has had a run in with some wolves and is now suffering too thanks to you choosing wrong, what a horrific ending to your pathetic diseased family, I guess 'always' isn't forever, after all" she smirked.

"You'll never break our family" I growled out looking up even though my neck burnt and the agony could be heard in my voice. "Whatever you've done to Klaus it won't hold, he'll always break free"

"Oh Sophia, too bad you'll be dead before your beloved Klaus can save you" she added before they left leaving Elijah and myself to suffer in our pain and I let myself fall forward and relax knowing I had to conserve my energy and stay as still as possible to give Nik time and also because I was feeling sleepy.

"Sophia" I forced my eyes open seeing Elijah kneeling over me and I just smiled. "We need to get you to Niklaus, quickly" he picked me up and I flinched as the movement caused a flicker of pain across my whole body.

"Whatever happens just save him, promise me 'Lijah"

"Quiet now Sophia, save your strength"

"Save him" I whispered before I felt my head fall back and things went dark...

Third Person's POV

Elijah carried his sister-in-law all the way back to the Abattoir seeing Marcel commanding the nightwalkers and called out immediately asking him where Niklaus was knowing that Sophia likely only had a day at this rate with the amount of venom coursing through her veins from the multiple bite wounds that covered her body, he was sure she hadn't known how many times she'd been bitten.

"I got guys out looking for him right now" Marcel replied as Elijah laid his sister down on a table before he acted out throwing a couple of the nightwalkers around.

"Elijah!" Hayley yelled appearing atop the second floor balcony.

"Klaus threw one of his classic temper tantrums, snapped my neck, tried to take on a coven of witches by himself, he got dropped I don't know where he is or how to find him-"

"They also have Rebekah and Sophia has been bitten by werewolves" Elijah informed Marcel whose face dropped at the mention of Rebekah and he looked down at the woman he considered a sister breathing heavily on the table glaring at the bite wounds that covered her body that were festering with werewolf venom. "Everyone of you will help me to find them, I'm going to kill them all!" he yelled so everyone heard the seriousness in his voice before he picked up Sophia again and carried her upstairs laying her down on Niklaus' bed which stirred her again.

"...'Lijah'...tell him" she breathed out slowly. "Tell Nik..."

"Don't talk Sophia"

"Tell Nik..." she whispered again before falling unconscious again right as Hayley walked into the room.

"Tend to her will you Hayley" Elijah told her before he walked out of the room knowing there wasn't time to waste especially for his sister-in-law leaving and trusting Hayley to keep her alive and informing him of any chance so he could get his brother back to the love of his life.
