Once he got back, Marty pushed the statue's beam around accidentally and earned himself a demerit. He went back over to the SoupMo, seeing that Rick was trying to flirt with Annie. Annie wasn't having it and Marty was furious. He dinged the bell before it got worse. Annie went out the back door.

Rick went over to the window, "Martin? You're back. Why?"

Marty answered as if it was obvious, "She's not interested in you, Rick!"

Rick rolled his eyes, "Why do you care? She ain't yours anymore, McFly."

Marty was furious, "Maybe not but even I know not to treat her like garbage!"

Unknown to either of them, Annie was listening in. She wasn't believing what Martin was saying. Was he telling the truth about time traveling?

"Marty…please don't leave me! I love you!"

Annie did a double take. Where did that come from? Annie shook her head and went back to what she was doing. She didn't believe it, not yet.

Marty asked, "What's with your voice anyhow? Cold or something?"

Rick clarified, "Allergies, McFly. There's a dog hanging around here somewhere - I swear."

Marty perked up, "A dog?"

Rick confirmed, "Yeah, stupid mutt keeps stealing my free samples. He only comes around when my back is turned."

Marty thought, 'I wonder if it is Einstein.' Marty got some of the free samples out and turned his back. Sure enough, Einstein was right behind him, smelling the samples with a muzzle on. Rick had caught him and Marty followed Einstein, taking more free samples. He had hid in the alley, gaining Annie's attention. Annie took off her headphones, swearing that she's seen that stray before.

"He has a puppy - named Einstein!"

Annie had her head. What was going on? This whole thing started when…sure enough Marty had tricked Einstein with the samples, getting off his muzzle.

Annie breathed, "Einstein…"

Marty turned to her, "Annie?"

Annie stammered, "H - how the hell do I know his name…?"

Marty insisted, "I keep tellin' you the truth."

Annie shook her head, "Anyways, did you want to get me back or not?"

Marty got to his feet, "What did you have in mind?"

Annie smirked, "Rock 'n' roll competition."

Marty perked up, "With who?"

Annie was about to answer but that's when Rick came into the alley again.

He asked, "Annie? Can we go to the lake when you get rid of the bug?"

Annie coldly answered, "Definitely."

Before Marty knew it, he was having a competition with Rick and he won by tricking Rick to fall into the garbage. Rick groaned as Annie laughed wholeheartedly. The couple and Einstein walked back to the town square.

Marty was confused, "Wait, you wanted that to happen?"

Annie raised a brow, "You saw what happened earlier. He's been trying to go further. I kept telling him no but he's never listened."

Marty asked, "Does this mean that you believe me about time traveling?"

Annie didn't answer right away, as she could've sworn she heard a familiar sound. Before she could answer, Einstein had caught a whiff of something and started to growl.

"DOG!"

Both of the cousins turned their heads and saw Einstein chasing after an elderly lady.

Marty warned, "Einstein! Don't!"

Annie yelled, "Martin! Wait!"

That's when Robert jumped into help, scolding Einstein. Einstein was ignoring him and just growling at the elderly lady.

The elderly lady stated, "Officer Baines, subdue that monster at once!"

Marty came up to them with Annie on his heels.

Marty told the dog, "Einstein, sit!"

Edna perked up, "Einstein?"

Annie pulled on Marty's arm, "Martin, please, get Einstein and let's go. NOW."

Edna had recognized the dog and turned to Robert, "I thought he was muzzled!"

Marty wasn't either reading Annie's signals or didn't care, "I took off the muzzle, he was hungry. He's my dog now, Einstein."

Einstein kept barking at the elderly lady until Marty made the connection. And what Annie was trying to warn him. She was Citizen Edna. Robert took out another muzzle and put it on Einstein. He gave Marty another demerit. Edna told Robert that she was escorting Einstein to the kennel. That's when she left.

Robert gave Marty the paper and warned, "You best both be careful or it'll be a visit for Citizen Brown."

That's when he walked off, disappointed in them.

Annie whispered, "Okay, that was kind of worth it."

Marty smiled, "I knew that you were still my kind of trouble."

Annie asked, "So what next? Should we make out in Soup Mo to give Rick a bad name?"

Marty blushed, "You really don't like him, do you?"

Annie just laughed. The next thing they knew was they were in Soup Mo again and Citizen Edna was right outside, wanting something. She screamed upon seeing them.

She shouted, "Hooliganism! Delinquency! Officer Baines!"

Annie laughed harder, she was really enjoying herself.

Marty teased, "You are really trouble, aren't you?"

Annie teased right back, "Says the one that played Johnny B. Goode in 1955…"

Both of the cousins gasped as they walked out of Soup Mo together.

They both asked in unison, "How do you know that?"

Edna was furious and Robert was outright done with Annie. Neither of the cousins noticed but they were holding hands together.

Marty rolled his eyes at Edna, "It's just hormones."

Edna huffed, "Stop! We don't use words like that in this town!"

Robert shook his head at Annie, "I'll deal with you later, young lady. We're going to have a long talk about…Citizen Plus program!"

Annie's eyes went wide, "Oh no, dad you can't be serious!"

Marty protectively told him, "Wait Uncle Robert, this was my fault. Don't blame Annie."

Annie had steeled her hand on Marty's, absolutely terrified. Edna told Robert to give Marty more demerits as she would attend to Annie.

Annie yelped, "Marty, please! H - help!"

Edna was furious, "Stop refusing! This will be good for you!"

Edna pried Annie's hand out of Marty's as Robert literally had to restrain the boy. Annie is gone now and with Citizen Edna. Marty thought, 'Did she call me…Marty…? I'm sorry Annie… I'm sorry…' He was completely upset. He felt like he used Annie to try and get to Citizen Brown. He knew that there was only one chance. To get Doc back, he knew that Annie was right, he was going to have to prove it. But first, he needed to break one more rule.

He went over to Lorraine, "Mom? Is it me or does Hill Valley feel really 'strict' today?"

Lorraine answered, "Some would call it 'stifling' but you didn't hear that from me."

Marty told her, "I found a stray dog near Soup Mo."

Lorraine asked, "Oh my! Is he dangerous?"

Marty answered, "No, no he's friendly. And then Edna and Uncle Robert took him away."

Lorraine shook her head, "Oh, what is that brother of mine thinking. But your dog friend will be okay, he'll be going on a train to Utah…"

Marty added, "Speaking of my uncle, Annie and I…were back together. We were caught in Soup Mo by Edna and Uncle Robert. He's planning to sign her up for Citizen Plus!"

Lorraine did a double take, "You serious?"

Marty nodded, "Yeah I am."

Lorraine asked, mostly to herself, "What is going on with you today?"
