"We could cut down the curriculum and make classes shorter to encourage attendance," suggested the elder, "After all, if it's less of a commitment-"

"That won't solve the problem," Keine interrupted, her frustration barely masked. "The issue isn't the length of classes. It's that no one is even coming through the doors in the first place."

Their conversation was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of an out of breath Reimu.

"Sorry I'm late," announced Reimu. Everyone stopped as she took a seat next to Keine before speaking. "So, what's the latest idea?"

The small group of teachers, parents, and village leaders exchanged nervous glances. Reimu glanced around the room, noting that everyone seemed to have already exhausted their ideas.

Keine gave a tired sigh. "There's been talk of opening the school to youkai children as well. It could help fill the classrooms, but…" She glanced nervously around the room. "It's dangerous. Humans are still prey to youkai, and there's no guarantee we can keep everyone safe."

"Not to mention the fact that fairies and youkai learn at different paces than us humans," added another elder.

"Youkai and humans mixing in a classroom... that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen," a teacher said bluntly, "Unless we can find a way to control the environment and guarantee that the youkai aren't a threat."

The room grew tense at the mention of inviting youkai into the Human Village school. The atmosphere thickened with apprehension and doubt. Reimu folded her arms, mulling over the suggestion for a moment before speaking up.

"I think it's a good idea, if we can keep the kids safe," came her reply.

"How can we guarantee that?" a parent asked with a skeptical tone. "It's not like we can make youkai suddenly stop being predators."

Reimu took a step forward. "No, but we can bring in youkai who are already known to be safe. Ones who have lived peacefully around humans for years and have a vested interest in helping the village."

She paused, gauging the room's reaction. "I'm talking about individuals like Aya, the tengu reporter. She may be a youkai, but she isn't dangerous, at least not in a physical sense. Then there's Kasen, a hermit who's practically a local celebrity. She has the strength to protect the children, not harm them."

She saw some doubtful expressions but also noticed a few thoughtful nods. This was the moment to press her idea further.

"I'm not just talking about bringing them in for show," she continued. "I'm suggesting we make a new class about understanding youkai and other beings in Gensokyo. We could have Aya, Kasen, Mokou, Minoriko, and others like them teach the kids. They could explain their abilities, their nature, and how they live among us peacefully. It wouldn't just be about filling seats. We'd be making Keine's school the only place in Gensokyo where children can learn about the world firsthand from different kinds of beings."

A murmur rippled through the room. Some of the parents looked intrigued, while others still wore skeptical expressions. Keine, however, seemed to be weighing the idea carefully.

"That's a bold proposal, Reimu," she said finally. "If we could guarantee the children's safety and show the villagers the value of learning from such beings, it could indeed make the school stand out. Not to mention, some youkai can teach the kids valuable skills and show what kind of lives youkai live. For example, Aya can show how reporting works and Minoriko can explain the importance of agriculture."

"But as mentioned earlier, how do we control it?" a village elder asked, his voice tinged with concern. "Even safe youkai are still unpredictable. And what if some of the more dangerous youkai see this as an opportunity?"

Reimu gave a nod. "We'll make this an invite only. No one else is allowed to come in and everyone will be checked before entering the school house. Only specific youkai will be allowed, and they'll have to agree to not bring anyone else in unless either Keine or myself deem it safe to do so. Mokou being present can also help as she is strong enough to handle many of these youkai on her own."

After hearing this, a teacher turned to Keine. "If we can do this, we'll create a program that the Moriya Shrine's daycare can't compete with. It won't just be a place to keep kids busy. It'll be a school where they learn things no one else can teach them. And that's what will bring them back."

Keine nodded in agreement. "Alright. I've been in contact with Mokou recently. I'll see if I can get her. Before I do though, does anyone have any objections?"

After a few moments of silence, no one said anything and Keine got up to head to the Bamboo Forest of the Lost.

"Alright then, I'll head to the Bamboo Forest to speak with Mokou," Keine declared, her voice steady. "The rest of you, see if you can get in touch with the others. If we're going to do this, we need to act quickly. Kasen is often spotted near the village, and Minoriko is probably out in the fields. Let's get this done."

"Look kid. I need your help with this."

"I know but I have no clue on where she is or where to start for that matter," replied Ryusei.

Moments ago, Rinnosuke had arrived at the Hakurei shrine with a ransom note demanding for a large sum of money. Tokiko had disappeared without a trace leaving only a few feathers behind as evidence of her being taken by force. Naturally, this sort of thing would be given to Reimu but since she wasn't present at the moment, he had turned to the other people at the shrine.

Daiyousei was too young to comprehend this sort of thing while Sumireko and Yukari had no idea on what to do, leaving him with Ryusei who had just returned to the shrine with some food. Unfortunately, not even Ryusei could help as he was not cut out for "incidents" like Reimu was and all he could do so far was determine the ransom's origin.

"All I can tell is that this was likely written by her former parents," informed Ryusei. "Just take a look at the writing. It's very jagged and messy as if someone were trying to write while drunk. I can barely make out the kanji. Even the numbers are illegible."

"What about the origin? Does it even have a place for the ransom?" asked Rinnosuke.

"No it doesn't. That's why we need Reimu. Her intuition is usually correct and can help us locate her. Does Keine know about it?"

The shopkeeper shook his head. "Not yet. I thought it would be better if I got Reimu on the case before telling Keine. She already has a lot on her hands."

Ryusei gave him an understanding nod as he picked up his unfinished energon sword. "Whatever the case, we need to be ready for the worst possible scenario. You should start gathering the ransom money even if we can't tell how much. I'll-"

"Hey Ryusei! You're- oh what's going on?" asked Reimu.

Everyone looked at the entrance and Ryusei quickly brought her in and told her three words that explained everything.

"Tokiko's been kidnapped."

And so this is the second of the three parts. As always, I'm open requests so if you have one, leave it in the comments but don't forget to check out the rules down below:

1. If there is a specific character that you think Reimu should babysit next, drop their name down in a review.

2. Each character can only be done once for now and duplicate entries will be ignored. (Ex. First comment requested Wriggle, second comment requested Chen, third comment requested Wriggle again, and fourth comment requested Cirno. The order for who Reimu babysits will be 1. Wriggle, 2. Chen, and 3. Cirno)

3. As long as the character hasn't been listed down below, Reimu will babysit them. They can still make cameos and play minor roles every once in a while. For example, Reimu will not babysit Chen again(for now) but she can babysit Orin and Chen can also make a cameo there.
