Ash sat on his couch, gingerly pressing an ice pack to the large bump on his forehead, courtesy of Haruko's chaotic visit. Pikachu was curled up beside him, keeping a watchful eye on his trainer, while Lucario stood by the door, as if sensing another strange visitor might appear at any moment.
And right on cue, a shadowy figure slipped into the room, moving with an eerie, fluid grace. Ash blinked and sat up a little straighter, unsure what to make of the figure's long, flowing black cloak and hood, completely hiding their face.
"You know, you really should lock your doors, kiddo," the figure said in a teasing, sing-song voice.
Ash tilted his head in confusion. "Uh... who are you?"
The figure stepped forward, and with a flourish, the hood was pulled back, revealing a smirking man with piercing eyes. His presence was as unnerving as it was intriguing. This was no ordinary visitor.
"Me? Oh, nobody important. Just passing through." The man casually waved his hand, but his tone had a strange, almost playful undertone. "Some call me the Master of Masters... but titles, schm-titles. You can just call me 'Lost Master' for now, I guess."
Ash, already weary from a string of bizarre encounters, blinked again. "Lost...Master? What... do you want? Are you here to challenge me or something?"
The Master of Masters put on an exaggerated show of mock fear, his hands trembling theatrically. "Oh no! A fight! How terrifying!" He then broke into a fit of laughter, the sound echoing oddly around the room. "Nah, kiddo, I'm not here for a brawl. Besides, I'm not really what you'd call the fighting type. Too much effort, y'know?"
Ash stared at him, baffled by the cryptic and eccentric behavior. "Then... why are you here?"
The Master of Masters shrugged, pacing around the room, examining Ash's belongings like he was casually browsing a store. "I was curious. You, Mr. Monarch, are quite the puzzle, aren't ya?" He paused, glancing over his shoulder at Ash. "Someone so young, yet you've achieved something pretty... monumental. It's impressive."
Ash scratched his head, still icing his forehead. "Okay... but why does that matter to you?"
The Master of Masters leaned in close, studying Ash like he was trying to read his mind. "Oh, it doesn't matter. Not really. But it could have. See, in another time, another place, you could've made one heck of a Keyblade wielder." He leaned back, hands behind his head, a grin tugging at his lips. "I wonder how you'd handle wielding a Keyblade... but alas, that's not the story we're in, is it?"
Ash blinked, utterly confused. "Keyblade? What's a Keyblade? And what do you mean, 'another time, another place'?"
The Master of Masters chuckled, ignoring the question completely. "Ah, don't sweat the details, kid. Big cosmic stuff, timelines, all that jazz. Too complicated. Just know that in another lifetime, you might've been swinging around a Keyblade and saving the universe, but here?" He spread his arms wide. "Here, you're doing just fine with your little electric mouse and your punching dog."
"Pikachu's not just a mouse!" Ash shot back defensively, but Pikachu gave a proud "Pika!" in agreement.
The Master waved off the protest. "Yeah, yeah, relax. I'm just messing with ya." He suddenly turned serious, stepping closer to Ash. "Listen, kid. You're walking a path that's yours alone, but every now and then, you'll cross over with others, some you won't even understand. Just like me." He smirked again. "You're an interesting one, and I like interesting. Keep your head up, will ya?"
Ash still couldn't make heads or tails of this guy. Was he complimenting him, or was this all just some kind of riddle? "So... you're not gonna fight me?"
The Master of Masters laughed. "Nah, fighting's not my style. Plus, I'm not looking to steal your title or anything like that. Titles, they come and go. What matters is what you do with them."
Ash sighed, feeling his confusion grow by the second. "Then... what do you want from me?"
The Master of Masters gave a knowing smile. "Oh, nothing right now. Just wanted to see the famous Monarch for myself." He tapped a finger to his head and winked. "But I'll leave you with something to think about." As he turned to leave, his hand on the doorknob, he glanced back one last time.
"May your heart be your guiding key, Ash. Remember that." And with a final cryptic smile, he slipped out the door, vanishing just as mysteriously as he had appeared.
Ash stared at the door, completely baffled. "May my heart... be my guiding key?" he muttered, looking down at Pikachu and Lucario. "What was that all about?"
"Pika?" Pikachu shrugged, equally confused.
As Ash sat there, trying to make sense of his encounter with the Master of Masters, the atmosphere in the room suddenly shifted. A familiar shadow flitted back through the doorway, and Ash's heart sank as he recognized the figure.
"Oh, look who it is! The Monarch of Confusion!" The Master of Masters returned, a playful grin plastered across his face. "Miss me?"
"Seriously? You just left!" Ash exclaimed, rubbing his temples in frustration. "What do you want now?"
The Master of Masters stepped further into the room, hands clasped behind his back. "I couldn't resist coming back to poke a little more fun at you. It's just too easy!" He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "But more importantly, I had a thought! Have you ever met my apprentice, Ava?"
"Ava?" Ash repeated, baffled. "Who's that?"
"Oh, just a sweet girl with a penchant for adventure and an eye for the interesting," the Master replied, waving his hand dismissively. "But you know what? I could totally picture the two of you together! You'd look so cute, like a dynamic duo out of a storybook!"
"Wait, hold on!" Ash protested, feeling a blush creep up his cheeks. "I don't even know her! How can you say that?"
The Master of Masters tilted his head, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Oh, come on! It would be adorable. Imagine it! You, the Monarch, and Ava, the enigmatic apprentice. The two of you fighting side by side against the forces of darkness, saving the world, and stealing hearts—"
"Okay, that's enough!" Ash interrupted, feeling overwhelmed. "I don't even know what you're talking about!"
The Master of Masters let out a delighted laugh. "Exactly! That's the beauty of it! You have no idea what you're missing! But I guess I'll just have to leave you to ponder that little daydream."
"Wait, don't just go!" Ash shouted, feeling exasperated. "You can't just drop a name like that and leave! What's she like? Is she strong? How do you even know her?"
But the Master of Masters merely waved his hand, dismissing Ash's questions like they were bothersome flies. "Oh, she's a delightful girl, and that's all you need to know for now! Just consider the possibilities!" He smirked, leaning in closer again. "You should really give her a call sometime."
"I can't call someone I've never met!" Ash retorted, feeling his frustration peak.
With a dramatic sigh, the Master of Masters straightened up, preparing to leave once more. "Ah, youth! So full of potential and yet so utterly oblivious! What a shame." He paused at the door, glancing back with that same teasing smile. "Well, my work here is done. Just remember, Ash, a heart guided by curiosity is a heart worth following."
"Yeah, whatever," Ash mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"And hey," the Master added, chuckling as he opened the door, "don't forget to ask Ava for a date if you ever meet her! I think you'd make a wonderful couple!"
"I told you I don't know who she is!" Ash shot back.
