Chapter 2: The Eclipse
It's morning at the Seville home and the boys and Dave are having waffles for breakfast.
"Going to be an interesting day with the eclipse that is going to occur today," Simon says.
Dave replies, "It certainly will be. I'll be watching it when it happens."
"I'm sure most people will watch it," Theodore commented.
Alvin thinks to himself while his brothers and Dave talk, "I know they told me that it's just a legend, but there have been stories that have come true. What if this is one of them?"
"Good thing you boys got a study hall period so you can get extra prepared for your tests," Dave says.
"I know," Theodore replies.
Dave then asks, "What do you think Alvin?"
Alvin snaps out of his thoughts and says, "Yeah, it's great we have a study hall period."
Dave then says, "You haven't said much this morning. What are you thinking about? I hope it's not that legend you talked about last night."
Alvin lies, "No I'm not thinking about that. I'm thinking about things we've been doing in our classes."
"Okay, just making sure," Dave responds.
The boys finish their breakfast and Dave then takes them to school.
As the boys get out of Dave's car, he says, "Have a good day."
"We will," Theodore says back.
The boys meet up with the Chipettes in front of the school.
"I heard yesterday that there is going to be a solar eclipse today," Jeanette says.
"There is," Simon says back.
Brittany notices Alvin looking at the sky and asks him, "Waiting for the eclipse?"
Alvin answers, "Yes. I'm also a bit concerned."
"What's there to be concerned about? It's just an eclipse," Brittany says.
"I read that every few years, there is a solar eclipse and strange things happen," Alvin explains.
Simon, overhearing Alvin, comes over and says to Brittany, "It's just some legend he read about and now he's a bit paranoid. You know how he is."
Brittany replies, "Of course I know how he is. He can take stuff like that too seriously."
"But there have been times where legends aren't just stories, they actually happen!," Alvin says.
Brittany rolls her eyes and says, "Sometimes you read too much into this stuff and watch too many scary movies. No wonder you have said crazy things through the years!"
Eleanor and Theodore come over after overhearing Brittany and Alvin talking, and Eleanor says, "Theodore told me what you said last night and I agree with Brittany, you do read too much into that kind of stuff."
Theodore chimes in, "Yeah. Eleanor also happened to tell me of times we were touring and there would be an eclipse and nothing happened."
Simon looks at the clock and says, "If we stay out here too much longer, we're going to be late for class."
Eleanor then tells Theodore, "See you at lunch."
Theodore says, "Same here."
The first couple of classes go by smoothly for the boys. They then are in literature class and listening to their teacher, Mr. Morris.
Alvin happens to look out the window and sees the sky darkening. He then exclaims, "Look! It's the eclipse! It's happening!"
Everyone else comes over and are in awe as they see the moon covering the sun and the sky getting darker.
"Yes, quite a site to see," Mr. Morris says. He then adds, "Alright let's get focused again on the subject."
As the students start to get away from the window, a student named Jack sees the sky turn a dark red color and says, "That's weird. Since when does that happen during an eclipse?"
Alvin sees a tree starting to fall and yells, "A tree is falling!"
Everyone else turns around and sees the tree coming down.
"That was strange," Mr. Morris says.
The window starts shaking before shattering into many pieces. Everyone in the classroom screams.
"What's going on?!," Theodore says as he starts shaking in fear.
Alvin says, "The story, it's coming true!"
Meanwhile, some distance away at the cemetery, the ground shakes before hands start rising from the ground.
It looks like Alvin was right. Will everyone come out of this situation okay? Please review!
