Chapter 5
Return To Danville Part 3
After defeating the Pistacion Heartless, Molly and Libby made their way back to Milo's house, hoping that Cavendish and Dakota were able to figure out where the Pistacion Heartless were coming from. As they opened the door, they were greeted by Milo, Zack, and Melissa, each of them glad that their friends were okay.
"Hey, you two! How did it go with fighting the Heartless?" Milo asked.
"Just as exhausting as it always is!" Libby sighed. "Molly and I just encountered one of those Heartless Pistacion hybrids. I don't think today can get any weirder."
It was at that moment when Milo and his friends shared silent glances with one another before Zack spoke up. "Actually, it probably can. We kind of have this other friend here with us and let's just say that he isn't human."
Before Molly and Libby could question what Zack meant by that, a teal colored platypus in a fedora stepped into the room. Seeing this caused Molly and Libby to gasp in surprise as they both knew who that platypus was.
"Perry!" Molly and Libby exclaimed, happy to see Phineas and Ferb's pet platypus again.
"Called it! I had a feeling that Molly and Libby would know Perry!" Melissa said with an amused grin.
Upon noticing his two friends, Perry gave a smile before approaching Molly and Libby.
"Hey, it's good to see you again, Perry! We missed you!" Molly said.
"How have you been? Have you been going on more missions and fighting evil?" Libby asked, to which Perry nodded in response.
It was at that moment when Doofenshmirtz stepped in the room as he said, "I called Perry the Platypus to see if he wanted to help us stop those Pistacion guys. He came running here as soon as I mentioned them, but I know that he only showed up just to hang out with me, right Perry the Platypus?" Doofenshmirtz asked, causing Perry to roll his eyes in annoyance.
"Well, now all that's left is to wait for Cavendish and Dakota to return and see what they found out." Milo explained.
As if on cue, the two time travelers opened the door, both of them appearing to be exhausted. They both looked as though they had been chased by hundreds of Heartless.
"This is just as I feared!" Cavendish panted. "It appears that Derek was able to survive the trap that was planned for him at the restaurant."
"Yeah! You should have seen it! Everything was going exactly like it was supposed to, but this witch showed up out of nowhere and took Derek with her!" Dakota recalled.
"Wait, did you just say a witch just showed up?" Molly asked, having an idea on who that which might be.
"Molly, you don't think it was Maleficent, do you?" Libby whispered.
Cavendish soon raised a confused eyebrow in response. "Is it someone you two might know?"
While Molly and Libby had a feeling that it was Maleficent who was behind this, they couldn't be too sure. After all, neither of them even knew what Maleficent looked like.
"We might have an idea, but we can't be too sure." Libby explained.
"Well, whoever they are, they will quake in terror once they see my latest invention!" Doofenshmirtz announced before revealing his latest inator, a blaster with different colored buttons on it and a glass container that held some kind of orange liquid. "Behold! The Pistachion Destroyer Inator!"
"It's really just an empty container that is carrying orange soda." Milo whispered to Molly and Libby.
"Why orange soda?" Molly raised a confused eyebrow.
Cavendish overheard Molly's question before he said, "Because this is what helped us defeat the Pistachions last time. However, we should be careful. The Pistachions could be looking for us this very moment. Fortunately, I just came up with a complex strategy that would aid us during these times of need and-"
"Boring!" Dakota interrupted, not interested in Cavendish's plan. "We don't need a complicated plan! We just have to blast those Pistachions with the inators."
"Dakota, you need to understand that-"
Once again, Dakota interrupted Cavendish as he said, "Alright! Let's save Danville!"
With that, everyone left the house, leaving Cavendish shocked by what happened.
"W-Wait! This plan can save our lives!" Unfortunately for him, Cavendish's yells fell on deaf ears. "Oh, I give up!" Cavendish let out an annoyed sigh before he followed everyone outside.
Once Molly and her friends left the house, they looked around town, relieved that there are no Heartless to be seen. Instead, various citizens casually walked through the neighborhood, almost as if they never even noticed the Heartless.
"Is it just me, or is it weirdly peaceful out here?" Libby looked around confused.
"I don't know! I think it is nice that everyone is enjoying their day without having to worry about any Heartless!" Molly smiled.
Suddenly, Molly got startled when someone called out for her from behind. "Hello!"
At that moment, Molly turned around to see random citizens staring at her with a bunch of creepy smiles.
"Oh, hello!" Molly replied with a nervous grin.
"How has your day been progressing?" The citizens spoke in creepy monotone voices.
This time, Libby stepped forward to make sure the citizens wouldn't try anything funny. "Uh, we're doing fine, I guess."
It was at that moment when Molly and Libby were taken off guard when Perry fired his grappling hook and wrapped them both in its wire before pulling them away from the random citizens. Molly recovered from being pulled back before staring at Perry in confusion.
"Perry, what was that for?"
"We have to get out of here now! Those are the Pistachions!" Cavendish pointed an accusing finger at the random citizens.
Once they realized that they had been found out, the citizens tore off their human disguises as they revealed their true forms. Both, Molly and Libby gasped in horror at what they saw. Right in front of them stood humanoid plant-like creatures with red eyes, sharp fangs, and pistachio shaped heads.
Wasting no time, Molly and her friends ran down the street with the Pistachions giving chase.
"So, those are the Pistachions?" Molly panted, trying to stay as far away from them as possible.
"Yeah, hard to believe that we defeated them twice, isn't it?" Zack asked.
"I don't find it hard to believe because we are going to defeat them for a third time as well!" Melissa assured.
"We can't keep running forever. Doofenshmirtz, give me one of your inators!" Cavendish yelled.
"Does it matter which one? I'm just saying, some of these inators work better than others!" Doofenshmirtz explained as he rummaged through a bag.
"It doesn't matter! Just hand me any of them!"
With that, Doofenshmirtz tossed Cavendish one of his Pistachion Destroyer Inators. Cavendish took aim at the Pistachions, but before he could fire, the glass container suddenly shattered, causing the orange soda to splash on the ground.
"Was that Murphy's Law?" Libby asked.
"Nah! Murphy's Law is usually more chaotic than this. I think that inator just wasn't built quite right." Dakota guessed.
"Doofenshmirtz, what is the meaning of this?" Cavendish demanded.
"I didn't have time to test that one out. I told you that some inators work better than others!" Doofenshmirtz defended.
"He's got you there!" Dakota said, much to Cavendish's annoyance.
Everyone was thankfully able to lose the Pistachions as they hid in nearby bushes. Once the Pistachions were gone, Molly and her friends stepped out of their hiding spots to take a breather.
"Well, that was close! Where are we, anyway?" Molly asked.
"I think I might know where we are." Milo pointed to a nearby amusement park. "It looks like we are now at Lard World!"
"Lard World?" Molly and Libby asked in unison, having never heard of it before.
Milo nodded. "Yeah! It is only the best lard related theme park in the world! It is also where we defeated the Pistachions! With any luck, we might find them here as well!"
Suddenly, everyone heard voices coming from the amusement park. They all entered the park and hit behind a balloon popping stand to see an army of Pistachions and Heartless. Right in front of the army stood two figures onstage. One of them was a Pistachion creature who wore a suit and roots on his head in the shape of a top hat.
"Pistachions, today is the start of a new era! With the Heartless on our side, we will finally take over Danville!" the Pistachion onstage announced, to which all of the other Pistachions cheered in unison.
"Who is that guy?" Molly whispered to Milo.
"That's Derek, the leader of the Pistachions." Milo answered. "I just don't know who the other one is."
Standing right next to Derek was a sorceress in a long black robe with a purple trim. Right on top of her head stood a matching black headdress in the shape of horns. She also carried a long staff with a green orb at the end.
The sorceress soon gazed in Molly and Libby's direction as they remained hidden. Sensing the presence of the keyblade wielders, the sorceress decided to speak to Derek in private. She tried to get his attention, but it only ended up annoying him.
"What do you want, Maleficent? Can't you see I am in the middle of an important speech?" Derek asked in annoyance, confirming Molly and Libby's suspicions of who the sorceress really was.
"Your important speech can wait. I sense that the keyblade wielders are nearby. Come, we shall discuss this in private." Maleficent led Derek backstage.
With that, Molly and the others sneaked their way to the backstage as well, making sure not to draw the Pistachions' attention. Before long, Molly and her friends took notice of Derek and Maleficent as they started to eavesdrop of their conversation.
"I told you that I don't care about any keyblade wielders! The Pistachion army and the Heartless you gave us are more than enough to handle them!" Derek argued.
"You shouldn't get overconfident. The two keyblade wielders are stronger than you would expect." Maleficent explained.
"Well, I think it is time you left! The Pistacions are finally going to take over Danville and we don't need you around to-"
Before Derek could say another word, Maleficent aimed her staff at him with fire spreading from the end. "Don't forget who it was who saved you from your demise! I gave you a second chance at life, and I can just as easily take it away!"
With a gulp, Derek started to tremble in fear as he knew that if he made one wrong move, he would be dead. It was a surprise for Milo and his friends to see Derek like this since they don't think they have ever seen him this scared before. Just as suddenly as it started, the flames at the end of Maleficent's staff faded as she put her staff away.
"If you think you can handle them on your own, then by all means! Fight until the darkness consumes your heart!" Without another word, Maleficent disappeared in a flash of green flames.
Now that Maleficent has left, Derek gave a relieved sigh before he returned on stage to make his speech for the Pistachion army.
"Uh, wow! That witch really isn't messing around!" Dakota commented.
"We'll worry about her later! Right now, we need to focus on stopping the Pistachions! It won't be easy, given how many of them are around." Cavendish replied, taking notice of all of the Pistachions around the park.
"It might help if we all split up and blast each group of Pistachions with those inators." Melissa suggested.
"Yeah, about that, I kind of dropped a good amount of the inators when we were being chased, so we only have two left." Doofenshmirtz explained.
Upon finding out what happened to the rest of the inators, everyone stared at Doofenshmirtz in annoyance. With only two inators, they would have to be more careful than ever with how they use the orange soda.
"Molly, I think we would have to separate and help out our friends. We are the only ones who can help them fight off the Heartless. I'll go with Perry and Doofenshmirtz while you help everyone else." Libby explained.
As much as she wanted to save Danville, it broke Molly's heart that she had to be separated from Libby to do it. A sad look appeared on Molly's face as she wanted nothing more than to be with Libby.
"Aw, I don't want us to be apart." Molly sighed.
In response, Libby held Molly's hands with a reassuring smile. "Hey, it's going to be okay, Molly! I'll be fine with Perry and Doofenshmirtz! I promise we will be reunited real soon!"
At that moment, Molly and Libby shared a kiss with each other, to which their friends awed in response. The girls blushed before they went their separate ways. They both gave each other one last smile as they guided their friends through the park.
"Seriously, Libby! What is your secret? How is it that you are able to get a girlfriend so easily? I never had that much luck when it came to romance." Doofenshmirtz said as he, Libby, and Perry searched for nearby Pistachions.
As they explored the amusement park, Libby, Perry, and Doofenshmirtz sneaked their way passed the various Heartless before approaching a nearby group of Pistachions. Libby took aim with the inator and got ready to fire.
"Okay, so how do you fire this thing?" Libby whispered.
"That's easy! All you have to do is press the red button!" Doofenshmirtz answered.
Libby soon looked down to see a tiny button on the inator. She was about to press the button before Doofenshmirtz started to panic.
"Wait, I meant the other red button next to it!"
It was too late though as Libby already pressed the button. This caused the inator to explode in Libby's hands. With the inator destroyed, Libby turned to Doofenshmirtz in annoyance.
"Doofenshmirtz! Why would you put a self destruct button on the inator?" Libby yelled.
"What? I put self destruct buttons on all of my inators!" Doofenshmirtz defended.
"Well, that would have been nice to know before when I dealt with your Darkness Inator!"
As Libby continued to argue with Doofenshmirtz, Perry took notice of Pistachions heading in their direction. Perry desperately tried to get Libby and Doofenshmirtz's attention, but they were too distracted to notice him. Before Perry could make another move, he suddenly got captured in the vine grip of one of the Pistachions. By the time Libby and Doofenshmirtz figured out what was going on, they both got captured just like Perry. With a gulp, Libby silently hoped that Molly would be okay.
Meanwhile, Molly traveled through another part of the park with Milo and his friends. Molly didn't want to tell anyone, but she was secretly worried about Libby. She knew that she shouldn't worry, though. After all, Libby was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Even so, Molly couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen, especially with all of the Heartless and Pistachions roaming the park. It was at that moment when Zack noticed that Molly was strangely quiet.
"Hey, are you feeling okay, Molly? You have been a little quiet since you and Libby separated from each other." Zack noticed.
"Oh, sorry, Zack. I'm just a little worried about Libby." Molly sighed. "I just hope she would be okay."
"Don't worry, Molly! I'm sure that Libby will be fine!" Milo assured. "You and Libby will be back together before you know it!"
"Yeah! The sooner we stop the Pistachions and Heartless, the sooner you get to see Libby again! So, what is our first step?" Melissa asked.
"Probably to defeat that guy over there." Dakota pointed towards one of the Heartless Pistachion hybrids.
There were no other Pistachions in sight, so Molly and the others sneaked over to Heartless undetected. With the inator in her hands, Molly got ready to fire before Cavendish took a moment to speak with her.
"Be careful. We only have a limited supply of orange soda, so make this shot count." Cavendish warned.
With a nod, Molly took aim at the Heartless. As he waited for Molly to fire, Milo leaned against a counter with a ball on it. This caused the counter to break in half, sending the ball flying in the air. As the ball flew back down, it fell down on a nearby test-your-strength game, causing the bell on top to ring. If that wasn't bad enough, the game emitted a loud sound, along with a message at the top that read, "Winner". The noise caught the attention of nearby Pistachions as they realized what Molly and the others were planning.
"Oops! My bad!" Milo said with an awkward smile.
Now that Molly and the others were caught, one of the Pistachions grabbed the inator from Molly's hands before throwing it against a nearby wall, shattering it completely. One by one, everyone got captured as the Pistachions wrapped their root arms around them. As she struggled, Molly hoped that Libby was going to be okay, unaware that Libby got captured as well.
