What if the boys weren't made from chemical X?

Brick was reading his favorite book at his desk. Butch was fiddling with a rubik's cube they had stolen last month. Boomer was reading Butchs weather book on his bed.

"I got!" Brick exclaimed.

"let me guess, how to win every game of chess or whatever? because those never work every single time" Butch replied.

"no, you remember when we tried to catch the girls off guard?" Brick asked, putting down his feet.

"yeah, they beat us up hard" Butch replied. 2 years before the boys tried to catch the girls off guard by not doing anything for 2 months, but it turned out the girls had been expecting them to attack at any moment.

"what happened is we didn't wait long enough" Brick noted.

"so what? are we gonna wait three years like the villain did in that one book I finished reading last week?" Boomer remarked.

"no, if I'm right then about 6 months should work" Brick explained.

"the girls are smarter than ya think bro!" Butch said in response.

"shut up Butch! you just say that cause you like a challenge in battle!" Brick snapped back.

"ugh" Boomer groaned before going back to the book he was reading.

Brick then returned to reading his book while Butch went back to trying to solve the rubik's cube.

2 months later the boys hadn't even done a single crime because of Bricks ghosting plan.

Brick was on his bed reading his board game book, Butch was pacing back and forth in the bedroom and Boomer was doing whatever in the living room.

"dude, why are we trying this again!?" Butch asked.

"This time is different, last time I thought only 2 months would catch them off guard, but apparently not. this time we're doing it for 6 months" Brick explained.

"can we at least fight them tomorrow? it is our birthday" Butch said. they always fought the Powerpuff girls first thing after breakfast during their birthday. no crime first, just straight to battle.

"of course, it is tradition" Brick smiled.

"finally!" Butch cheered as he punched the air.

"but after that we're stealing a punching bag for you and then not doing any crimes for 4 months" Brick added.

"no!" Butch complained, dropping to his knees and waving his hands in the air.

"oh stop whining. what are you? a dog?" Brick replied before going back to his book.
