Hello Readers: Hopefully you guys enjoyed the first four chapters of our story, but there's a hell of a lot more where that comes from. In fact, there's almost 2,000 chapters in the original series…so, sit back and enjoy this long journey with a bunch of twists and turns.

Chapter 5: Meeting Uncle Antonio

Now this was the life: the feeling of her beautiful baby boy, all cuddled up to her as they sat in bed with each other shortly after his (latest) morning feeding; after all, this wasn't the first time she's fed him this morning. In fact, it was the third (or fourth). She's not exactly sure about the exact amount because of how tired she was. So, even though it was 8 in the morning, Gabby was still exhausted when it came to being sleep deprived. "And now you understand why I couldn't come to your college graduation, when Eva was born two days earlier." Turning her head as she heard Antonio say that, Gabby snickered. "God, I know what you mean. I am exhausted. He feeds every 90 minutes! So, right when I even try and fall asleep, he wakes up." Looking down at her son, Gabby smiled. "He makes up for it though. He's so damn adorable." Antonio agreed with Gabby as she said that and smiled as he looked at her, only to realize that her husband was nowhere to be found…something which he didn't like. "Don't tell me that he bailed on you, when you risked your life to give him that son of yours." Looking at her brother, Gabby was offended that he thought so little of her husband.

Especially when he knows just how much Matt has always wanted to be a father. "Bite your tongue and apologize to my husband when you see him next. How dare you accuse him of ditching me, when this is his dream come true? Antonio, you know why I did this for him! It's always been his dream to be a father, yet you accuse him of leaving me when I almost died for him? Seems like you don't want to be the godfather." Antonio laughed. "Yeah, because you have another godfather all picked out." And that was when Matt came out of the washroom shortly after taking his shower, clad in nothing but a towel and some (dirty) boxers. "Hey bud…I do have a best friend, who still feels neglected over the fact that I was made both Ben AND Griffin's godfather." Turning to look at Matt, Antonio was shocked. "You've been hitting the gym." Matt agreed with Antonio. "Yes, yours." Antonio then realized that. "That's why there was new membership who wasn't paying." Matt snickered as Antonio said that, only to make his way over to his bag of clothes. "Hey, I just said that I was your brother-in-law, never told them to give me a discount." Matt said, as he grabbed his gym bag this morning.

After which, he picked it up and smiled as he walked back over to Gabby. "I forgot my bag of clothes, so I need to get dressed; that is, unless you need anything right now?" Gabby shook her head and smiled. "All I need is a sweet kiss from my husband." Matt smirked as Gabby told him that, prior to leaning over her and placing his hand on the side of her face; after which, he leaned in and smiled as he took things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. "I love you, and I love Andy here." Turning his head, Matt soon looked at his son. "But we're going to work on how you say I love you to me." Gabby was confused as Matt said that. "I just gave birth! You ain't getting sex anytime soon." Snickering, Matt looked at his wife. "I was talking about our son." Gabby then realized that. "Right…that makes sense now." Matt smirked and agreed with Gabby, only to lean over her and kiss her once more. "God, I love you and I'm so glad that you're home. Now, I'm going to go get dressed. By the way, nice to see you Antonio. You get tested?" Giving his brother-in-law some side-eye, Antonio didn't appreciate the question. "Ok. Don't give me that look Antonio!" Matt said, offended.

However, Gabby was confused. "What look?" Matt sighed. "The one which says that I didn't need to ask a question, when it's serious. Antonio, my wife just gave birth and had surgery; my son is not even 12 hours old. If you want any chance at being the godfather, then you better have gotten tested!" Turning her head to look at her brother, Gabby agreed with Matt. "I agree 100% with my husband. Did you get tested?" Antonio agreed with his sister and her husband. "How do you think I got in here? It's like a maze down there. I had to take both a COVID test and a temperature test…when I was just here last night. I'm not going to catch it when I was just at home!" Matt agreed with Antonio as he said that. "Oh, calm down." Matt said as he walked away to go get dressed, while Gabby turned her head to look at her brother so that she could defend her husband. "Antonio, give him a break." Antonio looked at his sister. "You're defending him when he's criticizing me?" Gabby nodded. "He almost lost me yesterday." And the minute Gabby mentioned that, Antonio realized just why Matt was so worried. "Right." Gabby agreed with her brother prior to looking at Andy.

Meanwhile, Matt smiled as he carried a card over to Gabby. "Here, this is from the kids. And this is from me." Antonio said, as he brought a teddy bear our from behind his back. "Aw. Thanks Antonio. Wait, have they been isolating?" Antonio nodded. "I stood at the end of the driveway when I saw them. They brought it out to my car with the windows closed. I know." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she looked at the teddy bear. "So, can I hold Andres now?" And the minute Antonio said that, Matt yelled out and corrected him. "ANDREW! IT'S ANDREW!" Looking at his sister, Antonio was surprised that he was so specific when it came to the name. "What's his problem?" Coming out of the washroom after getting dressed, Matt sighed. "Antonio, you know full well who our son's named after." Matt said as he carried his bag over to the desk they had in their room, only to look at Gabby this morning. "Sorry I yelled, did I scare you or Andy?" Gabby shook her head as she extended her hand. "No, it's okay." Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled.

After which, he made his way over to her and Andy. "You need anything? Some breakfast?" Gabby smiled at her husband. "I think we both know that we stay in here to get breakfast." And just then, Natalie came into their room. "That's right. And I was just about to come check on what you want, right after I send my congratulations to Matt." Smiling, Matt walked over to his long-time friend. "How are you Natalie? How's Owen doing?" He said, prior to hugging her. Meanwhile, Natalie kiss his cheek…something which surprised Antonio. "Matt, what's she doing?" Turning his head, Matt looked at Antonio. "Antonio! I'm happily married to your sister, we just had a kid, and I've known Natalie for a decade. I knew her when she was still ENGAGED to Jeffrey Manning." Antonio blushed as Matt told him that, only to look at Natalie. "Sorry Natalie." Natalie agreed with Antonio and smiled. "By the way, I was able to get onto your service if you want." Gabby smiled, as she liked the sound of that. "I love the sound of you being here on the floor."

Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled as he turned his head to look at the woman he loves. "Matt, can you do me a favor?" Matt agreed with his wife. "Of course, what is it?" Gabby smiled. "If Antonio sits in the recliner, can you take Andy over to him…since Natalie's here, I need her to help me with something." Looking at Gabby, Natalie got worried. "Is everything okay, Gabby?" Gabby agreed with Natalie. "Yes. I just need some help adjusting this bed." Natalie snickered as she made her way over to Gabby, only to grab the remote in the drawer. "Here, this is how you control the bed." Giving her the remote, Natalie smiled; meanwhile, Gabby looked at Matt. "I told you that it was in the drawer, but you refused to get up and look!" Gabby said, not happy whatsoever with the fact that he didn't look properly. "I was comfortable the way we were." Gabby shook her head. "Not a chance. I get to be comfortable when I almost died giving birth to our son." Matt shook his head. "Ok. You do not get to play that card when I didn't know you were pregnant."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, while he took a breath. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap. I really didn't." Gabby agreed with her husband and extended her hand. "Here, how about you take Andy to Antonio? Then, we can hold each other. I mean, unless you plan on going to the cafeteria to go get breakfast?" Sighing, Natalie looked at Gabby. "Unfortunately, the cafeteria is closed and being used as overflow for the pandemic." Nodding, Gabby realized that was the truth. "In fact, I wanted to let you guys know that you may be able to leave this afternoon, or even this morning." Taking a breath as Natalie said that, Matt didn't know whether he liked that idea. Not when he wants Gabby to be monitored. "Antonio, can you stay here with Gabby for a minute? I'd like to talk to Natalie about that." Looking up at her husband, Gabby was confused. "You can't do it here?" Matt sighed. "I don't want to worry you." Gabby soon realized what this was about. "Aneurysm?" Matt sighed and agreed with Gabby. "Yeah. I mean…" Gabby agreed with her husband.

Though, she decided to let him speak to her here. "Just talk to her here, baby. I can hear it." Matt agreed with his wife as he proceeded to grab her hand and intertwined their fingers. "Natalie, I know that this is going to be different considering the pandemic…but, I think that me and Gabby should stay for an extra night due to what happened. They took out her aneurysm during surgery, and I'd like for her to be monitored…plus, we still need to move some things into our new home." Antonio was confused as Matt said that. "What are you talking about?" Matt smiled. "Gabby said that your mom has an empty house?" Antonio nodded. "Yeah, she moved out. Why?" Gabby sighed. "He's living with Kelly and Stella." And the minute Gabby said that, Antonio understood why Gabby wanted to move into his mom's place. "How about I go set that up for you guys after I spend a bit of time with you?" Matt agreed with Antonio, as he'd appreciate that. "I appreciate that, Antonio. I really do." Antonio smiled as he agreed with Matt.

After which, Natalie looked at Matt. "So, what do you want for breakfast? I can get you some." Gabby smiled as she looked at Natalie. "I'd love it if I can get some pancakes." Natalie agreed with Gabby and smiled. "I'll get that for you guys." Matt agreed with Natalie and smiled. "Thanks Natalie." Natalie agreed with Matt and smiled as she walked away; meanwhile, Matt turned to look at Antonio. "Did you seriously think that I would cheat on my wife? The wife who just put her life on the line so that we could have a baby?" Antonio gulped as Matt asked him that question, while Matt made his way over to his bag and grabbed his deodorant. "Now, I am going to sit with Gabby as I hold her in my arms. It's actually why I'm just wearing an undershirt and boxers, as I had a feeling that we weren't headed anywhere today." Gabby smiled, as she liked the sight of him wearing that. "I love the sight of you wearing that. It's very sexy." Looking at his sister, Antonio decided to remind her that he was here. "Hey sis, right here." Gabby then looked at Antonio.

Right now, she honestly didn't care whether he was there or not. All she cared about was the fact that she was back together with her husband. "I haven't been with Matt in months, so you don't get to say anything. I love him, and I want to flirt with him. Nobody said that you had to be here while I recuperate with him." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that and smiled as he put his undershirt on and started to make his way over to her. "Here, how about you slip over so that I can hold you in my arms and just relax with you while our son is taken care of by his uncle." Gabby agreed with Matt, prior to slipping over this morning; after which, he climbed into bed with her and smiled as he wrapped his arm around her. After which, he pressed his lips to Gabby's forehead and smiled because of how happy he is to have her in his arms again. "I will say this again, but I'm so glad to have you back in my arms." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she moved into his lap and slipped her legs in between his as she cuddled up to him.

All the while, they both wrapped their arms around each other as they held each other close…and Matt had to say, it was so nice to have Gabby back in his arms now and forever. "I missed you." Gabby agreed with her husband and smiled as she felt him run his hand up and down her back. "I missed you too, and I'm happy to be home. It feels great to be home, especially now that we finally have a family." Looking down at his wife, Matt smirked as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "That we most certainly do." Turning his head, he pressed his lips to her forehead as they held each other close in the comfort of their hospital bed. "So, did you bring the key to your mom's place, Antonio?" Antonio agreed with Matt. "Yeah, I did. I have it in my pocket. But right now, I want to concentrate on this little guy. God, you guys make adorable kids." Gabby snickered as her brother said that. "Well, he's just the first of our kids." Matt agreed with Gabby, while Antonio looked up at his sister. "Yeah, I heard that. Did they really take the aneurysm out?"

Matt agreed with Antonio and smiled, as they most certainly did. "Yes. So, that means that we can have more kids in the future. No more fights about it." Gabby agreed with Matt as she looked up at him, while he looked down into her eyes. "I hope you know that I hate what I said to you. I never want to speak to you that way again. I promise, I won't ever do that to you again." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled. "Good. Because if you do, I'm coming for full custody." Antonio looked up when he heard Gabby say that. "And I'll make sure that she gets it by testifying that she risked her life for Andres." Turning their heads, Matt and Gabby were both mad when he used the wrong name for their son. "It's Andrew, in honor of my late best friend Andrew Darden. Say his name right, or else you're getting kicked out of here." Antonio agreed with Matt as he said that, only to turn his head and look down at his nephew; his adorable nephew, who he already knew Matt and Gabby both felt quite happy to have in their life.

30 minutes later, post-breakfast: Gabby ended up falling back asleep in Matt's arms after having some nice pancakes for breakfast, which just felt incredible as Matt held the woman of his dreams close to him. It was precisely what he wanted, due to the fact that he loves Gabby more than anything in the entire world; yet, as she laid her head down in his arms…he also realized that he now had a chance to talk to Antonio since both she and their little guy were fast asleep in their respective beds. Though, that didn't mean that he was going to leave. "Antonio?" Turning his head to look at Matt, Antonio smiled at the sight in front of him: the sight of his sister and her husband holding each other close. "Yeah, Matt?" Matt sighed as Antonio said that. "I just want to say…I'm sorry for how things have worked out over the past couple years. I know that you're protective of your sister, and I just wanted you to know that I have no intention of letting Gabby go. I want her to be in my life forever. Andy may have just been born, but he's already my everything."

Antonio agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case as he looked at his brother-in-law as he held Gabby close to him this morning. "I can already see that's the case based solely on the way you're holding Gabby in your arms." Matt agreed with Antonio and smiled, as he was very comfortable as he held Gabby in his arms this way. "Now, listen…do you think you can do me a favor?" Antonio agreed. "What might that be?" Matt sighed. "I guess, with us moving into your mom's place…maybe you can get it ready for us? I can give you my credit card, and you can get it ready for us." Antonio snickered, as he most certainly can do that for the both of them. "Of course, whatever I can do help. I know that you probably just want to move in as soon as you can." Matt agreed with Antonio and smiled, as that's precisely what he wants to do: move in right away. "How about I just buy the stuff with my card, and you can pay me back?" Matt smiled and agreed with Antonio, as that sounded great. "Sounds great."

Getting up, Antonio made his way over to Matt so that he could shake his hand. "Listen, I'll talk to you later. I'll text you to see if you like something." Matt agreed, as that sounded great. "Thanks Antonio. Can't wait to see what you buy for us." Antonio agreed with him and smiled, more than ready to help him out by getting everything he needs for their son.

I know that it might be weird for me to want to skip right away…but I always feel limited when it comes to storylines that I can write in the hospital, especially when I have COVID in the story.
