Hi Readers: I hope that you guys enjoyed the start to this new story, which took place at the firehouse and the hospital. But the truth is, I'd much rather do this story at home due to the fact that I'm doing this story in the middle of a pandemic. So, what do you say we get our favorite family home? Well, they'll technically already be home…but we'll pick up within minutes of them getting home.

Chapter 6: Home

CASEY HOME – They came home three days after Andy's birth. That way, Gabby had a bit of time to heal at the hospital, while the doctors also had a chance to check her out and make sure that everything was okay after her surgery. But now that she was cleared to come home, there was nothing stopping them from coming home…which is precisely where they now were as they walked up to the door together with their fingers intertwined. "So, you happy to be home?" Snickering as she turned her head and looked at Matt, Gabby let go of his hand and then stepped close to him. "Matt, you don't have to call this that. I know this is just temporary." Matt shook his head as he wrapped his arm around Gabby and placed his hand on her butt, as he didn't want her to feel that way. If she wanted this to be their new home, then this could be their home. In fact, he was already a fan of this being their new home. "Gabby, I love the idea of this being our new home. It's a fresh start for us. A new home for our fresh start." Gabby agreed with Matt.

After all, that's precisely what this home could be for them…and not just due to the fact that Andy is here. "You know, this is my childhood home." Matt nodded and smiled as he decided to set Andy down on the ground (in his car seat). After which, he stepped close to Gabby and wrapped his arms around her. "Which is why I love the idea of this being our home now so much. It means that we would get to raise our little boy in the same home where you were raised. I think that sounds perfect. Plus, I like the idea of us having two floors." Gabby agreed with Matt. "And it's a nice place. I've been here once already, remember? I already set up a crib, a changing table and a rocking chair in our room. I changed the sheets and put some of our clothes away. I promise, everything is okay. Please, think of this as our home now. This isn't your mom's old home; this is our home. The Casey Home." Gabby smiled, as she loved the sound of that. "I like the sound of that. A place where we can be together and start our life together….again." Matt agreed.

After which, he smiled as he placed his hand on the side of her face and leaned in to kiss her softly. "This is our fresh start, and I'm so glad that we have a fresh start together. Me, you, and Andy." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she felt him let her go. After which, he went to grab the keys to their new home and unlocked the door so that he could let Gabby in; after which, he picked Andy up again and smirked as he reached back so that he could grab Gabby's hand. "C'mon, let's get inside. I want to go lay down in a real bed again." Gabby smiled and agreed with Matt as she walked into the house with him, only to close the door and lock it; though, as she did so…she looked at the dinning room table, which was filled with things. "Ok. Was that there when you came here yesterday?" Turning his head as he set Andy down, Matt shook his head. "No, it wasn't." Gabby agreed with Matt as she walked over to the table so that she could see just what it was. After which, she found a note that told her exactly what it was.

"Just because we're in the middle of the pandemic, doesn't mean that we can't have a baby shower for you. Congratulations on Andrew's birth, and we can't wait to meet him (from a distance) in the future. Here's everything you need for a new baby.
-Antonio, the Herrmanns and Firehouse 51"

Smiling as she read the note, Gabby turned around to look at Matt this morning. "Well, that explains everything." Matt was confused as she his said that. "What are you talking about?" Gabby smiled. "It's from Antonio, the Herrmanns and Firehouse 51." She said while showing Matt the note; as a result, Matt agreed with Gabby as he said that, only to walk up to her at the table with Andy. After which, he set him (in his car seat) down on the table and wrapped his arms around Gabby. "I love that they decided to get this stuff for us, as it means that I no longer have to go out and get anything for us. Rather, I can stay here with you and Andy." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that and smiled as she wrapped her arms around his back; after which, she leaned in and started to take things nice and slow with the man she loves. "I'm not going to complain about that, especially as we start fresh in our new home with Andy." Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled. "Thanks for Andy, again. You have no idea how happy it makes me to be a dad." Gabby agreed.

After all, she knew just how happy he would be when he became a dad. "And that's precisely why I knew that I was doing the right thing in being pregnant. I knew that it was what you wanted, because you deserve to be a dad. And now you're the best dad in the entire world to our very lucky boy." Smiling, Matt agreed with Gabby as he placed his hands on the sides of her face. After which, he leaned in and kissed his wife softly; though, that didn't mean that he kissed her very long…especially not when Gabby needs to rest and take it easy. "Listen, as much as I want to kiss you and take it easy with you…you need to relax." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as he told her that, well aware that she needs to relax and take it easy after Andy's birth. "How did I know you'd say something like that?" Matt smiled at his beautiful wife. "Because I love you more than anything in the entire world and I want what's best for you." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case. "I promise, we can talk about that later." Matt nodded.

Especially since he knew precisely what she was talking about: the fight they had before she left. "I know that we need to talk about it, but I just think that we should wait before we do that. I don't want to rush it. Right now, you need to take it easy and relax, babe." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware that was the case. "I know." Matt smiled as Gabby told him that, prior to placing his hands on her arms as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves softly. "God, you have no idea how much I want to take you in my arms to celebrate the fact that we're together for the rest of our lives." Matt shook his head as Gabby said that. "And that's precisely why we need to take it easy and relax. You're still recovering from giving birth, so we aren't going far." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled. "Maybe a massage?" Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled. "Listen, I already put some comfortable clothes on the bed for you. How about you go upstairs and get changed? I'll be right up with Andy." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled, more than ready to do just that as she turned around to go make her way up to bed where she would get changed and just take it easy in bed.

Meanwhile, Matt made his way over to his son and smiled as he went to undo his straps. "Hi little guy. You happy to be home with mommy and daddy?" Smiling as he picked his son up in his arms, Matt brought him close and just cuddled up to him. In the process, he held his hand and smiled because of how happy he was to finally be a dad…and that was all thanks to the woman he loves. Thanks to Gabby, he was finally a dad, which was his dream come true. Yes, she had to take some big risks for them to have Andy; but, it was worth it at the end of the day due to the fact that they now had the child of their dreams. The child they've always wanted, all because of the risks Gabby took to make that happen. And now, as he pressed his lips to Andy's cheek, it felt even more real. "Hi buddy. Yeah, you're home now. Away from the hospital and safe with mommy and daddy." Matt said, as he rubbed Andy's back; after which, he bent down and smiled as he went to grab the diaper bag. That was, until he felt Gabby rub his back. "Here, let me take him."

Turning around to look at his wife, Matt was surprised. "I thought that…" Gabby smiled as she looked at Matt. "I'm not letting you take both our things and our little boy upstairs. I'm going to take him, since you need to put some things in the laundry and stuff. Oh, and you also need to put some things in the wash. Like, can you wash my water bottle and stuff? My brother said there was one on the counter which I can use in…" Stepping close to his wife, Matt placed his hands on her arms and smiled as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves. "Hey, breathe. Take it easy." Gabby agreed with Matt. "I got it. Antonio told me everything too, because he wants what's best for you. And what's best for you is to take it easy and relax. So, can you go do that for me? Just go lay down in bed and take it easy for me, as that's what you need to do. I'll take care of everything, then I'll come upstairs and join you." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled. "I want to kiss you in bed when Andy is in his crib." Matt agreed with his wife and smiled, as he wanted that as well.

He wants to hold her close and share a kiss with her. "I promise, we're going to do that. That's something I can promise you, as I want to do it more than anything. But right now, you need to go lay down in bed and take it easy. Please, just let me take care of everything else…and the longer you're down here, the more time it'll be before we get to share a kiss. I know you just fed Andy before we left the hospital, but you can do it again if you want?" Gabby smiled. "We'll see. I don't think he's hungry. I may just have a bit of cuddle time with him." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Maybe stay in bed with him then? We can do a comfortable cuddle as a family. Don't get me wrong, I loved holding you in bed at the hospital…" Gabby agreed with Matt, as she already knew what he was going to say. "It just wasn't the most comfortable cuddle." Matt agreed with his gorgeous wife, as that was precisely what he was thinking. "I know. It was so uncomfortable." Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled. "I'm glad we're on the same page." Smiling, Gabby hugged Matt.

After all, it felt so nice to be home with him. Just the way they held each other close was so nice, and it was precisely what she wanted to do for a long time. "I'm happy to be home with you, for what it's worth." Looking down at Gabby, Matt smiled because he felt the same way: he was so happy to be home with her. "I feel the same way. There's nothing like being home with the woman I love more than anything in the entire world." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she held him close to her. After which, she leaned in once more and just smiled as she took things nice and slow with the man of her dreams; however, Matt decided that he didn't want to go for too long. "Ok. Calm down Gabby. Remember, you need to rest and take it easy." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware that she needs to take it easy and relax…it was why they were home, after all. "Then, are you going to let me take Andy upstairs?" Matt smiled. "Just go get comfortable in bed. You already fed him, so I just need to put him in bed. Unless you want him with us?"

Gabby bit her lip. "Actually, I think I like the idea of it just being the two of us in bed for a bit. I've missed you, and I really wan tit to just be the two of us as we hold each other close." Matt agreed with his wife and smiled, as he liked that idea as well. "That sounds great." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled, prior to grabbing Andy so that she could take him upstairs. "I got him. You start the laundry and I'll be waiting for you in bed." Matt agreed with his wife and smiled as he watched her walk away with their son, more than ready to be with her in the comfort of their bed. God, he loves her so much…and it feels incredible to finally have her home.

Primary Suite – Walking into his and Gabby's new room shortly after putting their clothes in the wash, Matt smiled as he looked at the woman he loves as she struggled to take off her bra this morning; so, he decided to walk up behind her so that he could get her a hand. "Need some help?" Matt asked Gabby, as he placed his hands on her hips and smiled. Meanwhile, she turned her head to look over her shoulder and smiled. "Yeah, I need some help." Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled as he went to grab her bra to take it off, only to set it down at the end of their bed so that she could relax. "God, you look great like that." Turning around to look at her husband, Gabby smirked as she stepped close to him and wrapped her arms around his back. After which, she leaned in and kissed him softly. "I love you." Placing his hand on Gabby's neck, Matt agreed with the woman he loves. "I love you too, and I am so happy right now. Just the feeling of having you in my arms again is the best feeling in the entire world." Gabby agreed.

Though, she also knew that he had to feel some resentment towards her over the fact that she hid the fact that she was pregnant. "And are you sure that you don't have any resentment or hatred towards me for having hid the pregnancy from you?" Surprised that Gabby would ever think he could ever have hatred in his heart for her, Matt shook his head; after all, there was no way in hell that he could ever hate her…not when he loves her more than anything in the entire world. She's the love of his life and will always be the love of his life. "So, are we getting in bed together? Or are you going to do something else?" Matt shook his head, as there was nowhere he'd rather be than in bed with her. "No, I'm going to join you in bed." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she placed her hands on his toned chest. "I love the sound of that. But, are you going to get undressed?" Smirking, Gabby agreed with his wife. "Go lay down in bed, and I'll strip down to my boxers like you want." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she went to go lay down in their new bed.

Walking out of the washroom after stripping down to his boxers (and freshening up with his deodorant), Matt snickered as he saw Gabby admiring him from the comfort of their bed. "I swear, you walking around like that is going to get me pregnant again." Matt sighed as Gabby said that, as that wasn't something he wanted to hear his wife say…especially when she just gave birth to their son just three days ago. "Gabby, please don't joke about things like that. You know that it's dangerous to have kids back-to-back. Plus, we still need to talk. If this is too seductive for you, I can put shorts on." Gabby shook her head, as she didn't want him to wear shorts. "No, stay like that. I want you to stay like that." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that and smiled, only to make his way over to Andy's crib to check on him. And let's just say that he was very happy as he did so due to the fact that he loved his little boy so much. "Hi buddy. Yeah, you're home. Now, just get some rest and take it easy for daddy." Matt said, as he leaned over and kissed Andy.

After which, he covered him up with his blanket and smiled as he looked at the woman of his dreams. The woman of his dreams who looked quite timid as she laid down in bed. "Why do I have a sense that you flirting with me is a way to try and get yourself to calm down, rather than to try and get me in bed?" Gabby sighed as Matt asked her that question, as that's precisely what she was trying to do: calm down. She needed to do so, as she was worried out of her mind that she screwed everything up for them. "I'm not going to lie and say that I'm not worrying about something." Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that, only to walk over to (what was now) his side of the bed and opening the covers, as he wanted to lay down with Gabby and hold her in his arms. "Here, how about I join you in bed and you can cuddle up to me?" Gabby agreed with Matt. "I think you're the one that needs to do that, as you look sleep deprived." Matt sighed, as he did feel sleep deprived. "Yeah, I feel like I need some more sleep."

Gabby agreed with Matt as she laid down on her side, only to watch as he got in bed with her; upon which, he moved close to the woman he loves and smiled as he brought her gorgeous body against his chest. "God, you have no idea how nice it is to be in bed with you again…and not a hospital bed." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, only to move close to him and wrap her arms around his muscular torso; meanwhile, he brought the covers up on top of them and placed his hand on her back. "I just want to remind you that you just need to tell me that you're cold, and I can get you some sweats or something. The last thing I want is for you to get cold." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled, well aware that she just needs to ask him for something to keep her warm if she needs it; though, for now, she was more than okay with how she was laying down. "I'm good for now. Thanks for offering, though." Matt agreed with Gabby and smiled as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves softly.

Upon doing so, he took things nice and slow with Gabby because this was what he wanted to do in the hospital…but, he couldn't due to the fact that the bed was so small. But now that they had a big bed like this one, he could do so. And honestly, it felt great. "God, it feels so much better to be laying down in a bed like this. As nice as it was to lay down close to you like we did in the hospital bed ,I would much rather have time like this." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she felt the same way. "I feel the same way. This is so nice." Matt smiled as he leaned in and kissed Gabby softly, only to place his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb. "How are you feeling?" Gabby smiled. "It feels nice. Just me and you, holding each other close. The truth is, I was worried that I'd never get another chance with you…either because I'd die, or due to the fact that we wouldn't get back together." Matt agreed with his wife. "Well, we never exactly separated due to the fact that we're married." Gabby agreed with Matt.

After all, she's glad that they're still married. "You have no idea how much I like the fact that we're still married. I appreciate that, by the way." Matt shook his head and smiled as he leaned in and kissed Gabby softly. "There's nobody I'd rather be married to. I promise." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she stared into his eyes. After which, she wrapped her arms around his neck and slipped her legs in between his; after which, Matt placed his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb. "I missed you." Matt said, as he bent down and kissed her shoulder softly. Rubbing Gabby's back, Matt smiled because of how happy he was to have her back in his arms. "You have no idea how nice it is to have you back in my arms. This is everything I want, Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled. "And Andy?" Matt snickered. "That's my dream come true. You made my dream come true, baby." Gabby agreed with Matt and smiled as she leaned back and placed her hand on his face, only to lean her forehead against his as they each held each other close.

This was precisely what she wanted to do: hold her husband close to her as they relax in bed. Sure, this wasn't the bed she thought she'd be coming home to, but that didn't matter to her; all that mattered was that she was home with Matt. "I love you, and I love our life already." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, smiling as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "I love you too, and I'm happy to be here too. I mean that from the bottom of my heart." Taking a breath as Matt said that, Gabby stared into his eyes. "Matt, can I ask you a serious question?" Matt agreed with his wife. "Of course, what is it?" Gabby took a breath as Matt asked her that question, prior to asking the love of her life the question which is on her mind at this very moment.

"Matt, we're going to make it through this…me hiding my pregnancy until I came home, right?"
