SCENE 2 – THE COUCH – EARLY MORNING.
SHAYNE, 4'11", sitting on the couch, gets up and moves the chairs to the center of the stage. COURT, 5'7", who should also logically be on the couch, awkwardly stands up and joins him.
COURT
(shuffling over weirdly, pointing to the stools)
Do we–do we sit here?
SHAYNE
(sitting, pointing at the script)
Yup.
COURT
(confused)
Did you hear that shit earlier? What the hell was that?
SHAYNE
Pretty sure it was a driving plot for some less-important
characters.
COURT
Damn, dude. That sucks. Wish there was better writing in this thing.
SHAYNE
Yeah. Bad script or whatever. Anyway…
They both stupidly sit there, completely out of character. Then, they both assume a posture and make it very clear that the scene is starting.
The two flip a page of their script.
