Here is another chapter of Hikigaya going on a date with girls from the series. At first, there was no organization for dates just picked one at random but now I'm using the fandom wiki. So I'm just going backward on the alphabet list of the female characters.
I stated in my other story but I'll be traveling so I'll be back in a week or two. I'll be gone at the end of the month but I'll keep writing until then. Most likely I'll be brainstorming ideas.
I have been thinking lately but I might stop writing Yukino's POVs. It's getting hard to write about her perspective. I'm an old guy now, I think writing in the third person is better for everyone. I'll continue with my current storylines and will keep writing in a first-person perspective for the story, 'OreGairu POV', 'Tycoon', and for the chapters of 'Akia Sato.' By the end of the year, I'll be switching over but I'll inform you before that. I have been writing a new story and chapter of a new character written in the third person only. I hope I get good reviews on it. You can see that in my chapter lately, I have tried to set up the scene.
Well, that's all enjoy the story. This character appears in, 'Shin Volume, chapter 1.' Also this chapter has an omake. That section is in the third person just a fair warning.
After the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, the once-bustling hallways of Sōbu High School began to empty. Students were either heading home or gathering in clubs for after-school activities. Hikigaya Hachiman, however, remained seated at his desk, staring at his phone with a bored expression.
"Hey, Hikigaya-kun!"
Hikigaya looked up to see Tomioka, the class representative, standing by his desk with her usual bright smile. Her shoulder-length hair, curled at the ends, framed her face perfectly, and her bangs danced across her forehead with every movement. She wore the standard school uniform, but her lively demeanor and sparkling eyes added a unique charm to her appearance.
"Tomioka-san," he greeted flatly. "Do you need something?"
"Yes, actually," she replied, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks, highlighting her youthful complexion. "I was hoping you could help me with some class representative duties. I need to carry some materials back to the third-year storage room. Could you stay a bit longer to help?"
Hikigaya sighed internally but nodded. "Sure, why not? I have nothing better to do anyway."
Tomioka's face lit up with enthusiasm, brightening the entire classroom. "Great! Thanks, Hikigaya-kun! You're a lifesaver."

Tomioka's POV:
As we made our way to the storage room, Hikigaya noticed how my energy seemed to fill the empty hallways. I started to hum a cheerful tune; my voice was soft yet melodious. Despite often being flustered, I moved with purpose.
"So, what exactly are we carrying?" Hikigaya asked, trying to make conversation.
"Just some boxes of decorations and supplies for the upcoming class party," I explained, my eyes shining with excitement. "I want to make sure everything is organized and ready. It's going to be our last big event before graduation, and I want it to be perfect."
"Sounds like a lot of work," Hikigaya commented, noticing the determination in my expression.
"It is," I admitted, brushing a stray lock of hair behind my ear, "but it's worth it. Everyone's been so stressed with exams and their future plans. I think we all need a chance to relax and have fun together."
When we reached the storage room, we found it cluttered with various supplies from past events. I rolled up my sleeves, revealing slender yet surprisingly strong arms, and looked at Hikigaya with resolve.
"Alright, let's get started!"
Hikigaya followed my lead, picking up a box filled with streamers and balloons. As we worked together, I hoped my cheerful laughter and encouraging words didn't overwhelm him. I wanted to make the task feel less like a chore and more like a shared adventure.
After an hour of organizing and sorting, we finally finished. I wiped the sweat from my brow, my cheeks flushed from the effort, and looked at Hikigaya with a satisfied smile.
"Thanks so much for your help, Hikigaya-kun. I couldn't have done it without you."
He's a nice guy after all. No wonder Yukinoshita-san is madly in love with him.
"No problem," Hikigaya replied, surprised by how much he meant it. "It was... kind of fun."
"I'm glad to hear that. To thank you for your help, let me reward you with an invite to dinner."
Hikigaya raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Sure. Why not?"
As we left the storage room, I felt like I had gotten closer to Hikigaya, the man of the hour.
After finishing our tasks in the storage room, Hikigaya and I left the school and headed to a cozy family restaurant called Saize. The warm, inviting atmosphere contrasts with the day's hard work, and the tantalizing aroma of comfort food fills the air.
We found a booth near the window and slid into our seats, sitting across from each other. I immediately picked up the menu, my eyes lighting up as I browsed the options. Reading the menu made me even hungrier.
"I think I'll have the 4-cheese carbonara, the Japanese cheesy omelet rice, and a side of french fries," I said with a smile, my enthusiasm for the meal evident.
Hikigaya glanced at the menu and made his decision. "I'll go with the garlic rice with roast pork and sliced steak, and some karaage chicken."
The waitress took our orders, and as we waited for our food, a comfortable silence settled between us. I twirled a strand of my curled hair around my finger, looking thoughtful. I wonder if I ask him, would he answer? I'm dying to know.
"So, Hikigaya-kun," I began, my tone casual but curious, "how are things going with Yukinoshita-san?"
It's a hot topic. Everyone wants to know—how they confessed, what they like about each other, or how far they've gone. So many questions.
Hikigaya looked at me, slightly surprised by the question but not offended. He knew I wasn't trying to pry or cross any boundaries; I was just being friendly.
"It's going well," Hikigaya replied, leaning back in his seat. "We're both pretty busy, but we make time for each other. It's... nice."
I nodded a gentle smile on my face. "That's good to hear. You two seem happy together. I've always admired how you support each other."
I wanted to know more, but small steps first. Those two don't talk much, so I don't want to scare him off.
Hikigaya felt a faint blush creeping up his neck and quickly looked away, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, well, it took a while to get to this point. But I guess it's worth it."
Our conversation continued, flowing easily as we talked about school, our classmates, and our plans. I think my cheerful demeanor made it easy for Hikigaya to relax and enjoy the moment.
Soon, our meals arrived, and the delicious aroma made both of us eagerly dig in. My eyes sparkled with delight as I tasted my 4-cheese carbonara, while Hikigaya savored the rich flavors of his garlic rice with roast pork and sliced steak. The fatty pancetta and creamy cheeses blended perfectly.
"This is so good!" I exclaimed between bites. "I'm so glad we decided to come here."
"Yeah, it's pretty great," Hikigaya agreed, enjoying his meal. "Thanks for inviting me, Tomioka-san."
My smile widened. "No problem, Hikigaya-kun. I'm glad we could spend some time together outside of school. It's nice to just relax and talk like this."
Hikigaya nodded, feeling a sense of contentment. As we continued our meal, I found myself hoping we might have room for dessert.

After finishing our delicious meals, I decided to indulge in dessert and ordered an ice cream sundae. I savored each bite, my eyes lighting up with every spoonful of the sweet treat, ice cream, and fudge.
Once I finished my sundae, Hikigaya glanced at the time and then at me. "Do you want me to walk you home?"
My face lit up with a grateful smile. "I'd like that, Hikigaya-kun. But can we make a quick stop at the bookstore first? A new manga and light novel were released, and I really want to pick them up."
"Sure, no problem," Hikigaya replied, standing up and gathering his things. "Let's go."
We left the restaurant and walked to the nearby bookstore. The evening air was cool and refreshing, and the streets were softly illuminated by the glow of streetlights. As we entered the bookstore, the comforting scent of books surrounded us.
I led the way, my eyes scanning the shelves as we walked around. "I've been looking forward to these releases for a while," I said excitedly. "What about you, Hikigaya-kun? Do you read manga or light novels?"
"Sometimes," Hikigaya replied, glancing at the various book covers. "What kind do you usually read?"
"Mostly shoujo," I answered with a smile. "I love the romance and the characters. They're always so heartfelt and inspiring."
Hikigaya nodded, understanding my preference. "Makes sense. You seem like the type who enjoys those kinds of stories."
I giggled. "Yeah, I guess I do. They're just so... uplifting, you know?"
The kabedon scenes always make me squeal.
We continued browsing until we reached the new releases section. My eyes sparkled with excitement as I spotted the books I had been searching for. I reached out and picked up a light novel titled *The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku* and a manga volume of *Kono Oto Tomare!*
"Here they are!" I exclaimed, holding the books up for Hikigaya to see. "I've been waiting for these for weeks."
Hikigaya glanced at the covers and nodded appreciatively. "Good choices. Looks like you've got some great reading ahead of you."
Hugging the books to my chest, I felt a wave of happiness. "I can't wait to dive into these. Thanks for coming with me, Hikigaya-kun. It's been a nice evening."
Hikigaya smiled, feeling a warm sense of contentment. "Yeah, it has. Ready to head home?"
I nodded, and we made our way to the checkout counter. After purchasing the books, we left the bookstore and continued our walk home. The conversation flowed easily between us, filled with laughter and shared interests.
As we reached my house, I turned to Hikigaya with a grateful smile. "Thanks for walking me home, Hikigaya-kun. I had a great time tonight."
"Me too," Hikigaya replied sincerely. "Let's do this again sometime."
"Definitely," I agreed, my eyes shining with friendship. "Good night, Hikigaya-kun."
"Good night, Tomioka-san," Hikigaya said, watching as I entered my house. I felt like I was one step closer to Hikigaya. I wonder what I should ask next.

Omake:
As Hikigaya Hachiman walked home after his evening with Tomioka, he found his thoughts drifting back to their conversation. It had been surprisingly enjoyable, and he appreciated how easy it was to talk with her. She was energetic, kind, and genuinely seemed interested in becoming friends. But as he replayed the events in his mind, a small detail began to nag at him.
Did I use the right name? he wondered, a frown creasing his brow. Tomioka had been nothing but friendly, but the thought of getting her name wrong gnawed at him. It wouldn't be the first time he'd forgotten someone's name—he had a bad habit of doing that.
He remembered the countless times he'd internally referred to Saki as "Kawasomething," which had led him to use variations like "Saki," "Sai-chan," or even "Sakisaki." That had always been a source of awkwardness, especially when she blushed at the way he called her. It wasn't his fault that names didn't stick in his mind as easily as they did for others, but it certainly made social interactions more complicated.
Did I call her 'Tomioka-san' the whole time?
He pondered, trying to recall every instance of their conversation. The last thing he wanted was to have unknowingly called her something like "Tomo-something" or, worse, completely butchered her name. He imagined her smiling face as they chatted and cringed at the thought of her noticing but being too polite to correct him.
Hikigaya sighed, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he walked. Well, she didn't seem offended or confused, so maybe I got it right this time.
Despite his uncertainty, he knew there wasn't much he could do about it now. If he had made a mistake, he'd just have to deal with it later. Tomo-something didn't strike him as the type to hold a grudge over something like that, but he also didn't want to ruin their budding friendship with a careless slip of the tongue.
As he continued his walk, Hikigaya resolved to pay more attention to people's names in the future. Maybe he'd even make a mental note of Tomioka's name to ensure he wouldn't mix it up again. After all, names were important, and if he wanted to maintain his connections, he'd have to start remembering them.
Yeah, next time I see her, I'll just call her 'Tomioka-san' with confidence, he decided. And if I did mess up... well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
With that, Hikigaya pushed the thought aside and focused on the rest of his walk home. There were still other things on his mind, like his relationship with Yukinoshita and the upcoming school events, but at least he'd made some progress in the social department. It was a small step, but for someone like Hikigaya, it was still progress.
As Hikigaya walked toward his house, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out to see two new messages, one from Yukinoshita and another from the best little sister in the world, Komachi.
Yukino: Where are you?
Komachi: Onii-chan, you're not home yet? Where did you go?
Hikigaya paused, thinking about how to reply. He knew Yukinoshita was likely just checking in, while Komachi was probably curious and concerned, as always. He quickly typed out a response: Just finished up some stuff with Tomo-something. Heading home now.
The moment he hit send, Hikigaya regretted it. Did I really just say 'Tomo-something'? He'd spent the entire evening worrying about whether he'd used Tomioka's name correctly, and now he'd casually butchered it in a text to Yukinoshita and Komachi.
Great. Just great. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. I've spent the whole evening worrying about getting Tomioka's name right, and then I go and type something like that. Well done, Hachiman.
His phone buzzed again, and he hesitantly looked at the screen.
Yukino: Tomo-something? Do you mean Tomioka-san?
Komachi: Onii-chan, you really need to work on remembering people's names! You're so hopeless sometimes, but that's why you have me, right?
Hikigaya groaned. Yukino's message was direct as usual, and Komachi's teasing only added to his embarrassment.
Of course, they noticed. Why wouldn't they? he thought, feeling a mix of frustration and embarrassment.
He quickly sent another message to clarify: Yeah, I meant Tomioka-san. Sorry, my brain's a bit fried.
Komachi responded almost instantly: Don't worry, Onii-chan! I'll forgive you this time. Just make sure you don't call her that to her face, okay?
Yukino: Get some rest. You clearly need it.
Hikigaya hesitated for a moment before replying to Yukino: I will. I love you too.
Seeing the words on the screen, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. The fact that he could openly express his feelings to Yukinoshita still felt a bit surreal, but it was also something he cherished deeply. He knew behind the screen, that she was likely blushing.
Yukino's reply came shortly after: I love you too, Hachiman. Good night.
Hikigaya pocketed his phone, feeling a mix of relief and warmth. It wasn't often that he messed up so noticeably, but at least he could count on Yukinoshita and Komachi to keep him grounded. As he approached his house, the familiar sight brought him some comfort.
Okay, note to self: Never let your brain short-circuit like that again, he thought, chuckling at the absurdity of it all.
With that, he entered the house, ready to unwind and put the day behind him, looking forward to the next time he could see Yukinoshita and hoping for fewer name-related blunders in the future.
