Chapter 64 The Zone

At the new basketball course Shin was training as he throws many shots from a distance scoring a few points.

"Well you seem you want to get better." Kivat came.

"Well after the game, it made me want to do it again." Shin smiles.

"Hey Shin want to practice." He saw Hunter and Sparrow coming.

"Oh sure." Shin said. "Hey is Daring?"

"Yeah, he's still feeling blue." Hunter sighs.

"Well let's get a few others and try the game." Shin said.

They got a few other guys and they were a team together, Shin and the others started the game as they went foward.

He passes to Hunter when a guy came to him and Hunter catches it.

Hunter moves around a few before he aims and throws it at Sparrow.

"Nice catch!" Hunter said.

Sparrow avoided others as he moves around.

The girls watched the scene and Raven said: "Shin is really getting into it with the guys."

"Well they wanted to get better at this game after the big game." Cerise said.

Shin gets the ball and he goes foward before he saw a vision.

He saw many figures moving around as they went foward, in real life he was dodging before they could even catch him and moves around many players.

"Wow, look at Shin go." Poppy said.

"It's like he got way better." Holly said.

Raven got surprised and looks at Shin. What is going on?

Shin's eye glows as he moves around them all making many moves. I can see them before they can come, my skills are much better.

Shin then jumps up and dunks a shot.

"Whoa!" Everyone said.

Shin came down to the ground and he was still stunned.

"Hey Shin, how did you learn to play like that?" Hunter asked.

"I... I have no idea." Shin said.

Ramona came. "I must say, the way you did was very impressive." She grins.

Cerise glares at her for saying that.

Shin looks at his hands and he tries to think what just happened.

It was like my mind just clicked and I got stuck in the zone of the game among other things, what was going on back there?

"Okay let's take a break." Shin said.

"If you say so." Hunter said.

Shin goes to the side and tries to think about it more.

"Do you know what happened?" Kivat came.

"I have no idea, it just clicked." Shin said.

"Hmmm, it's almost like a ability that Wataru never had, but you have since you are growing in a different place." Kivat gave a theory.

"Maybe your right, it just happened when I played the game." Shin said.

He then thinks about the times he played, when he was younger he played the sport a lot, and theres been times his mind clicked but nothing this drastic, and he could feel it when he played against the Monstars, so what is the secret.

"Some would call it being in the zone." Kivat said.

"In the zone, I guess that fits." Shin said. "But theres seems to be another thing, my eye felt strange as I swear it was like I was looking into the future for a time."

"It would explain how you were able to avoid them before they could come close to you." Kivat said.

"Well I should try to practice more times, it seems my love for this game made it all happen." He said.

Shin sees the ball and he goes to practice with the others again to train a bit more.

Later

It was night time and Shin was alone at the court as he looks at the hoop.

He moves foward and he could feel the zone for a bit as he moves around to train before throwing the ball inside of it.

"Hey." He looks and he saw Raven watching.

"Oh hey Raven."

"So still practicing?" She asked.

"Yeah, after what happened I wanted to see what more I can do with it." Shin said.

"Your always trying to make yourself better for us." She chuckles making him blush. "So what's it called?"

"Well the Zone." He said.

"The Zone?" She questions.

"It's like my head gets focused in the game and it makes me do greater things." He said.

"Well if you want to be better, keep practicing." She said.

He chuckles at her. "You always knew how to make me feel better."

"I know, but let me watch." She goes to the seats and he smiles at her.

Shin goes back to his training as Raven watches him, she smiles at him since he used to be so shy with girls, and only had a few friends coming to this school

And now he's more confident with himself, of course he has trouble with girls, but that's part of his charm that she likes so much.

I wonder what you can do more in the future Shin. She thinks to herself.

Her partner came and said: "It seems your having fun."

"I know Kivatara, it's just seeing Shin have so much fun, makes it all worth it." Raven said.

Like any good girlfriend Raven always looks after Shin, unlike others that only care about his looks, she likes for who he is in the inside.

Shin looks at Raven before he throws the ball again and he's getting much better.

If we had tournaments it could have been fun, but that's not what this world is about only our school knows about this game.

But oh well, let's keep training. Shin thinks to himself as he goes foward.

They couple stayed for a bit before they went back to they're rooms before saying they're goodbyes.

The two of them knew they can always count on each other no matter what.

Ñote: Heres a new chapter where Shin gets the abilities from Kuroko, he will have to get better using them and the reason he's getting it is he's the only of the riders that has a big attachment to the game ever since Space Jam arc.
