Chapter 3 – Meetings
~Dran Mayers~
The doors to the dojo swung open before him, revealing both Ignitus and Spyro.
"I know, I know…" Dran shrugged his shoulders, "I look like a hairless ape. But my species are called 'humans'."
Approaching Ignitus, he gave a respectful bow, "I'm glad to be able to meet you two."
"…How do you know of all that is going to happen?" Ignitus's neck craned down to meet his face, "Are you an oracle, or something of the sort?"
As the lead Guardian, Ignitus was likely a living lie-detector. This and he had access to the Pool of Visions. Anything but the absolute truth would be detrimental in the long run.
'Here's hoping I don't blow their minds with this…' Dran placed his hand to his Dragon-Dude 9001, "Play Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning's first three cutscenes."
The device's eyes gleamed, projecting the opening scene upon the wall.
"You two are… Well, fictional characters where I come from," Dran extended his arm towards the wall, "I'll explain the rest later. After we're back from Dante's Freezer, where Volteer is being held."
Everyone besides himself seemed to be glued to the display. Ignitus seemed to be intrigued, but also fearful. Spyro, on the other hand, was enthralled by the video. Sparx, however, was near fainting.
Smacking both sides of his head, Sparx began a tirade, "Okay, that's it! Wake up Sparx! WAKE UP! No more eating spoiled mushrooms before bed!"
"Sparx…" Spyro spoke up, "Whoever and whatever is going on, this person is from somewhere far more advanced than us. Thankfully, he's also on our side."
His chest heaving in shock from the revelations, Ignitus turned to Spyro, "You… Are right, young dragon. If this being's words are true, it means we have foresight into the near future and can plan ahead because of that."
"Ignitus, I think you may need to sit down for a while," Dran placed his hand upon Ignitus's left foreleg, "I'll check this device for healing and restorative features."
Shaking his head, Ignitus made towards the door, "No… You must leave towards Dante's Freezer at once. And Dran… I suppose you know what happens next."
"Spyro is about to learn how to fly," Dran gave a smirk towards Spryo, "Dragons can't be dragons without flying, right?"
At this, Ignitus gave an affirming nod, "Yes, Dran. As for you, however…."
"Hmm…," Dran tapped upon the Dragon Dude 9001, "I wonder if this thing can…"
"Ability Copy Feature Activated." The Dragon-Dude's eyes illuminated upon speaking, it's soft yet assertive voice an odd mix of realistic and artificial.
Sparx flew around the Dragon Dude 9001, "Okay, this guy was weird to start off with, but now his little showy-armband-thing is talking?"
"So, you're sentient?" Dran prodded the Dragon Dude 9001, "That makes things a lot easier to figure out."
"Consider me an assistant and ally indefinitely," The Dragon-Dude spoke once more, "And yes, sentient to a degree."
Upon hearing this, Dran scratched his head, "Well, if that's the case, you'll need a new name. Dragon Dude 9001 is both long and disrespectful to an AI."
"What if you simply refer to me as 'D.D.'?"
"Uh…," Dran was taken aback by the device's self-awareness, "I guess that works."
"Let's get going," Spyro tapped Dran's back, pulling his shirt, "We don't have much time."
