Chapter Eight: (Escaping My Keep?!)
Shrek took his time analyzing the situation let alone comprehend on what is going on in front of him. At first, Shrek had fear creeped up on him when he thought that his son and his annoying talking Donkey were dead and eaten. However, based upon what he was seeing, the so called infamous legendary fire breathing dragon was holding Donkey around its tail and while low growling to Jason instead of eating them.
"Weird." Shrek whisperered to himself when quietly moving forward.
"You know Elizabeth?. It such a nice possibly a sunny morning day outside." Jason tried not to put on a fake friendly smile. "Why not we go outside and stroll down outside your keep?."
Dragon aka Elizabeth currently in thought on this idea as that was not such a bad idea. "You know something, Jason?. I really never in my whole life have left my castle for a... daily stroll in the sunlight."
"Right!." Jason rubbed his hands together in hopes of knowing he got her. "So why not we go outside and do it?. Heck, we can even go play hide and seek."
"Hide and Seek?!." Dragon had a look of pure excitement on the lovely idea. "Oh, Jason, I always wanted to play hide and seek!."
"Great so why do we not..." Jason was stopped by Dragon.
"Buuuttt I rather do that in my own spare time." Dragon happily looked a Jason. "Meaning that I have to feel ready to do it. Besides this is my personal time with my Donkey."
"Your Donkey?." Donkey did not like where this was heading at all.
Before Jason tried to get them escape from Elizabeth's hold and sight, Donkey have made the wild attempt of sweet talking her into letting them go but failed miserably. Instead of gaining on what he wanted he ended up making the female dragon fall heels for him than it originally was. Jason sighed as he lay flat on a big pile of gold treasure coins in defeat. Not seeing any other way around to escape Elizabeth's keep. Jason sighed when thinking about the current status of his father. Wondering if he is ok after making contact through the roof.
"Jason. Jason."
Jason heard his name in a whisper as he started looking around to see where the whisper is coming form. He looked to see there was no one in his area before looking up. Then Jason stopped and saw none other than his Dad looking down on him and give him a double finger salute. This soaked hope and relief for Jason as he now knows that he and Donkey are saved. Even though he did not what abandon poor Elizabeth but he can simply tell that she is not going to let them go free and come back some other time. No, Jason can see that Dragon is going to forecbily make them stay with her forever.
Without getting caught, Jason eye motioned Donkey to look up and hoped he can distract Elizabeth long enough for his father to come up with a good escape plan for them. When Donkey saw Shrek above them he instantly understand and went to attempt in distractin the female dragon who is undoubtedly madly in love with him. A donkey of all things. That is when Dragon started touching his genitals with no shame of practicing sexual harassment.
"Wow!. Hey, slow down. Slow down, baby, please." Donkey began as he started to get downright uncomfortable at this point. But he is going to keep distancing anyway. "Look now I believe that it is completely healthy to get the opportunity to know someone over a long period of time. Based upon your bachelorette life. Just, just call me old-fashioned homegirl, but I personally do not want to rush into a... a physical relationship."
"Speak for yourself." Jason commneted under his breath while grabbed his bag and not realizing that two important things were going to be left behind.
Shrek looked around for any possible way to hold the dragon back when trying to pull off the first time ever of escaping the keep. He glanced down at Jason who pointed up to get him to look at what he is talking about. Jason tried again and even displaying an example on what it appears to be lighting candles. Jason performed the example before glancing up to see Dragon looking at him with a brow raised. Jason realized what he is doing and quickly pretended to be struck inside a box and then trying to pull out with a invisible rope.
"I uh... practicing on being a mime." Jason chuckled nervously. "Cool right?."
Dragon shook her head. "No. Please stop."
Jason stopped in embarrassment as he stopped what he is doing before Dragon resumed back to Donkey.
"To be completely honest with you I am not...not emotionally ready for a commitment of, uh, this, uh - - "magnitude" really is the word I'm looking for. Magnitude. And if you want me to tell you the definition of magnitude then I am sure that Jason can..." Donkey was stopped when seeing Dragon tweriling her finger around.
"Oh, you are so cute." said Dragon, with a love look in her eyes.
Without any single warning, Dragon gently reached down and caresses Donkey with her single claw. To Donkey's uncomfort.
"Hey now, that is unwanted physical aroused contact!. Hey, girl?. What are you doing?." Donkey questioned.
Dragon lifted her head up and low fired the candles on the chandelier. Shrek now understands what his son is trying to tell him as this gave him a perfect idea. Putting the torch on a torch holder, Shrek looked to find the chain that connects to the chandelier before unhooking it. When doing so he triggered the chain to go up and found himself dangling over the dragon's head. Jason slowly got off the pile of gold before getting himself ready to run for it. After done putting on red lipstick, Dragon pucker her lips and leaned forward to kiss Donkey in the lips to his refusal.
Just before Elizabeth can make her dreams come true, Shrek pulled on the chain which it both pulled him and the chandelier down. Resulted in Shrek finally down and caused Dragon to actually kiss his own rear end. Once Dragon opened her eyes she would be happy to see a love dazed Donkey but instead she sees the ogre. It angered her as she roared before Shrek quickly pulled the chain harder to have the chandelier fall on her like a collar and a leash. That angered Elizabeth big time as Shrek quickly jumped down to where Jason and Donkey before all three started booking it.
Dragon managed to collect herself when looking at the three running up the flight of ruined stairs and running towards the exit. Without thinking she blew fire at their direction but missed as the three busted through the rotten door. Upon escaping the throne room and Shrek leading the way, Fiona paced back and forth in her spot until hearing multiple footsteps coming her way. She turned to see her knight in shining armor as she was about to greet him and his little gang until she is immediately grabbed by her knight along with him grabbing his donkey in the process. While seeing moor teenager running right beside him.
"Hi Princess!." Donkey cheerfully spoke.
Fiona gasped in shock at what she just heard from something that she did not expect for her to hear.
"It talks?!." Fiona said in utter shock.
"Yeah, and getting him to shut up is worth every coin to learn that trick." added Shrek.
Jason put his down to see the real Princess Fiona in excitement and grinned. "Wow you are really are Princess Fiona!. And you are not a blond either!."
Fiona looked at the boy teen with a brow raised. "A blond?. Um, excuse me young boy I am most certainly not a blondie. Now, that was very stereotypical of you to assume that every princess is a blond."
"Well, if that is the case then we might as well tell the brave men on the moon to come back home." Jason said sarcasticly.
Fiona eyes grew wide. "Wait we actually put a man on a moon?!. I have been in this lousy crappy dump of a castle for that long that we literally put a person on another planet?!."
Jason started chuckling when noticing that this princess is kinda navie to believe in whatever he said.
"Princess my...Stop!." Shrek stopped from running.
"Yikes!." Jason stopped as well before grabbing hold of his Dad before falling into a deep end.
"YOU ARE NOT ESCAPING MY KEEP!."
Shrek and Jason turned to see an angered Dragon right behind them and was seconds away from chopping them.
"Jump!." Shrek yelled before he slided down the long damged piller.
Jason jumped on his Dad's back before Dragon can scoop him up. The end did not end well when a part of the piller sticked out and made contact to Shrek's pebbles to his pain. As for Jason he had jumped off his Dad's back too early when his right heel made contact with a big lump brick. And boy did it hurt when feeling the major shock.
"Ouch my heel!." Jason said while hopping along on one leg.
"Speak for your self!. Ah, my aching pebbles." said Shrek.
"Oooo, now that has got to hurt." commneted Fiona.
"It sure did." commneted Donkey.
The gang picked up the pace when Dragon dropped down and chased them all throughout the open multiple hallways with the chandelier chain being pulled in the process. They ran straight. Then they ran the other way. Then they ran across. Then they ran horizontal. Then they ran around a large piller. Jason is starting to notice that they were getting anywhere at this rate.
"I do not think my sore heel can keep this duck duck goose game any longer." said Jason.
"Well, next time do not have a sore ankle when playing duck duck goose then." said Fiona, trying to look at the boy.
"Huh?." Jason looked at the women confusingly.
"Unless...you are actually playing with two ducks and a fat goose. Otherwise we would not call the game duck duck goose." explained Fiona.
Jason looked at his father. "Is she a loon by any chance?. If so then the writer of the book took pity in not writing her personality in the book."
Before Shrek can say anything, Fiona responded back.
"Hey, how did you know that my middle name is Loon?. What gave that away?." Fiona asked.
"Correction is she both a loon and a dimwit by any chance?." Jason corrected himself.
"Again how did you know that my second middle name is dimwit?. Wait are you a psychic?." Fiona questioned while feeling hungry.
Jason nodded in full conclusion. "Oh, yeah, she is most definitely a loon dimwitted princess. Man, my childhood years of reading famous princesses and fairytale creature stories is going right down in the toilet and overly clogging the outhouse."
Fiona busted out laughing. "You are hilarious!."
Shrek tried his best to ignore not only his son and the believable dimwitted loony princess and a panicing talking Donkey while thinking a way out of their situation. He got motivated big time when somehow the dragon had catched up in front of them and unleashed her flames on them. Luckily he ducked as quick as possible. Shrek looked at the same chains that the dragon been pulling throughout this whole time and figured out what will happen if it got caught with something. Shrek looked up to see an opening with large light light the way and know it has to be the exit. With that he dropped Fiona and Donkey and motioned them and Jason to run forward.
"You three get to the exit!." Shrek turned to see a old burnt rusty sword and pulled out and aiming at the chain. "I will take care of the dragon."
With that he shoved the sword into the chain before catching up with the others before the dragon sniffed them out and continue its run. Jason, Fiona, and Donkey had reached the first exit and see the second exit that will lead them to outside to the bridge. In just a short second, Shrek ran out from where he was and booking it while the dragon turned in the same direction as him.
"Ruuunnn!." Shrek told the three when catching up to them.
Without any hesitation they all booked to the second exit before Elizabeth conjured up her fire before releasing it on them. This made the gang run even harder as they finally reached outside and stepped on the bridge. Unfortunately the remaining flames have burned the the ropes and caused the old bridge to snap. Causing Shrek and the others to hold on to the fallen bridge until be able to climbing. Donkey slipped and fall due to not having hands to have grip on it but Shrek grabbed him by his own tail. Hanging down, Donkey screamed when seeing Elizabeth roarin and getting to fly towards them.
Unfortunately, for Elizabeth, the chain that she got caught into had pulled her back once the sword had catch hold of the chain real tight. Resulted in roughly pulling Elizabeth back to the castle. Jason climbing up and helped Fiona get to the cliff while Shrek helped himself and Donkey over to the cliff. Elizabeth watched them leave by running away from sight.
"Come back to me my Dragon Whisper and my Donkey!." Elizabeth angerly said. But then she had sad and emotional pained look on her face. "Please. I do not want to be alone and be friendless again."
(A/N): Sorry to make this short everyone. Tried to make the scene a bit longer in the best of my abilities. But not to worry I will make the next one much longer. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter either way.
