It has been two hours since Toon Link disappearance. Kirby searched high and ground, land and sea, and there was no sign of his friend.
The Smash mansion was surrounded by phenomenal sea and waterfall. There are some islands that are used for training and commercials.
Although, for Sonic, it's a living nightmare. He prefers to stay in his universe.
So the Hero of Winds couldn't go that far.
The sun has begun setting behind the horizon. The burgeoning sunset reflects the ocean—an amazing view from the distance. Hence why the Mansion is a beautiful place to reside the best fighters. It was already 7 PM, and the sun glared through the clear window, and Kirby ran across the natural, warm light.
Kirby was really exhausted. He was also really hungry, but he ignored his signals to find his friend. Determined, he sprinted around the mansion, taking another lap around the hallway, hoping to search for Toon Link.
He looked through open areas quickly, left and right side. Seeking areas like piano instruments in one room, small café for a nice tea and snacks, library, lounge, movie theater, and pretty much everything that Master Hand created them to make it feel like home. There are occasions that he tripped, collided with furniture and walls, and fell like a bouncy ball through flight of stairs.
Distracted, he wasn't really paying attention to what was in front of him, Kirby bumped into stiffened, hard, and a leather feeling. He face planted and completely astounded.
"Eeeeeep..." Kirby mumbled.
He leaned back and touched the ground, eyes shut. When he opened them, he spotted a friend! Kirby gaped his tiny mouth.
It was tall, younger, blue-haired, and carrying a large shiny gold claymore that Kirby heard it got a name: Ragnell with one arm. Kirby blinked and smiled. That's his friend from the third tournament!
"Hiii?" Kirby said, his voice sounding happy and rattled.
Wait of a minute... he was buff and older in the fourth tournament...?
"You should be careful." Ike said calmly, his voice softening to level out the sleeping fighters around the area.
Kirby went on a sitting position, awed and mostly curious. He tilted his body in confusion. Kirby doesn't really know much about him, but he showed several occurrences when he helped others who needed help.
Ike is quiet, but he is kind and humble towards Kirby, and he really likes him. Kirby knows he blunt out moves in the tourney and verbally to dismantle situations before it gets worse. But his smile faded into one small dot on his mouth because Ike spoke in a different tongue he was familiar with.
It was more of... English? Which Kirby believes is some sort of universal language used every day?
Ike stared into Kirby's sweet, adorable face. He was analyzing if Kirby got any injury for bumping into him on accident. To his eyes, he seemed ok. Those two pretty much have a staring contest that lasted 30 seconds.
Eventually, Ike began strolling the hallway, leaving Kirby behind.
Kirby caught a glimpse of green outfit draped around his free arm, which is oddly familiar. Kirby wailed to get Ike's attention.
"Oooooorraaaaah?"
Ike slightly turned around to view the Star Warrior, getting up from sitting on a carpet. Either Kirby wanted attention or something in his strange language he couldn't really describe. Kirby slowly approached his friend and paused.
Kirby noticed the outfit belonging to Toon Link!
The Pink Warrior waved wildly to capture Ike's attention and pointed out his stub at the outfit. The young warrior observed the small gestures that Kirby tried to express. He looked down at the stubby hand of his, and he was referring the outfit.
"This one?" Ike questioned the marshmallow.
Kirby walked up to him and nodded with his round body to approve Ike's query. Ike scanned the chubby pink warrior and back to the outfit. He wasn't sure Kirby was describing, but Ike observed his next action.
And Kirby did. He climbed on the man, clinging on to his boots, whimpering. His stubby hands wrapped around his right leg. His face looks up to express sadness.
Ike wasn't certain if he was pleading for the outfit, hugs, playing with him, or guiding him somewhere to a specific spot. But he looked so sad that it made Ike feel touched. He resumed his tracks, dragging Kirby with him.
...
Toon Link winced, in a pinch to cry as he sat on a hospital bed, watching Dr. Mario patched up his wounds on his rolled up sleeve and elbow exposed.
Dr. Mario was holding a cloth bandages as the other held Toon Link's right arm for support, wrapping around with one hand slowly. Toon Link quietly sat and watched the doctor carefully attach the bandages together.
The PhD. owner manuever his left hand to grab another roll of cloth and begin wrapping around the elbow. Dr. Mario—the clone of him, but in a different style, he already patched up Toon Link's back.
The room was pure white on walls, sheets, beds, tools, and even his coat. The clinic was located outside the mansion, as Dr. Mario requested. He thought it's wise for any patient to enjoy the courtyard while recovering. There are a few window frames, but they're shunned by white curtains.
Toon Link was the only patient in the facility. Beside the Hero of Winds was a tray of shattered abstract glass painted red that was punctured in his living tissues. There were about seven shards, and Dr. Mario successfully extracted them with forceps and tweezers.
He stitched up the wounds, and the young Hylian didn't enjoy the pleasant sewing. But he was tough and endured the pain for a better result. The last step was to wrap him with bandages.
His tunic was also a mess, but he hoped his ally would return with a new outfit as promised. The Hero of Winds straightened his rolled sleeves and sat quietly, believing he would not be dismissed from the clinic without supervision if his injury got worse. Aside from that, he had to change the bandages every so often to prevent infections.
Speaking of his ally, there was a knock on the door, and Ike entered. He stepped in to see the doctor at his finishing touch. Hero of Radiance noticed Kirby, who was pinned to his leg, gasped in shocked. It wasn't a disappointment or shocking kind, Ike could assume... a joy for Kirby?
"Here." Ike said, approaching Toon Link and set his new tunic on the nightstand with his Master Sword, Hero's Cap, and Hero's Shield stacked together.
He walked in, and Kirby immediately let go of Ike's leg. He was running towards Toon Link, looking ever delighted and worried.
Toon Link grimanced transition into a smile because he saw two of his friends arrived, and he couldn't look happier to see the pink gumball. Kirby grasped the white sheet bed, climbed on top of his bed. He was so light that the sheets didn't seem to stretch out.
Kirby slightly disturb Dr. Mario works, but he stepped away with his scissor and allow the sweet hero visits. He clipped the pins together as Kirby whimpers on Toon Link's laps. Toon Link rubbed Kirby round pink body for solace and comfort. He expresses a fretful look, leaving Kirby without notice and causing him to cry. Kirby look up to his friend up and down, and he was slightly injured.
Toon Link waved at Ike, gesturing to thank him.
Ike observed the heroes embracing each other with hugs and understanding. Kirby wanted to find him. The warmth friendship was magnificent, and he remained subtle. He left the clinic, closing the door as he exited.
As Ike left the room, Dr. Mario grabbed his clipboard, holding a pen on the other, and documented the status of the young Hylian. He nodded, looking at the paperwork to the young fighter. He went to his desk and prepared medicine to relieve pain.
Kirby hopped off the bed and march his way to the cabniet, searching through supplies of bandages in a box, temperature checks, popsicle sticks, opened box of white gloves, and stuff that Kirby don't know.
He curiously picked up a box of bandages and pulled a bundle of rolled and sealed band-aid. Kirby put down the open box and ripped out one. The other free stub, he grabbed a popsicle stick, too. He hopped off and sprinted towards Dr. Mario and Toon Link. He presented his way to help his friend.
"Aaahhhh haaahh?" Kirby cheerfully said.
The two observed Kirby with his sparkling cute charm of happiness, wanting to help Toon Link. The Hero of Winds was holding a small plastic cup of water, drinking the terrible pills for a better result. He did while Kirby was poking around.
Dr. Mario smile was small, knowing he wanted to help, but he shook his head once, denying he didn't really need it. But that caused Kirby to look sad, but he switched his stub to the wooden stick gleefully.
"Hhhhaaaaaahhhh?" Kirby tried to enlighten the second offer.
Of course, Dr. Mario declined by shaking his head. His genuine smile faded. For the first time, he watches Kirby express a sullen look.
He looked so sad...
And Dr. Mario expresses a perturbed look, slightly nerving.
But Toon Link acted quickly and pointed out his good arm on the band-aid. He tried to split the seal, but he was having difficulty bending his right elbow due to bandages inside of his sleeve.
Dr. Mario saw the hero struggle and assisted Toon Link to rip apart the seal and revealed the band-aid. He removed the sticky attatchment protection on both sides and handed it back to Toon Link. The young Hylian placed it on his right wrist and showed it to Kirby with a smile.
The action brought Kirby a huge smile as he gaped. "Yooouurrreeee!" Kirby cried in joy.
Resulting Kirby hugging Dr. Mario.
The doctor chuckled, patting Kirby on his back. He was such an awesome assistant and thought of a little gift for him. Kirby let go of his embrace on the doctor and climbed his way to sit beside Toon Link on the bed.
While the chunky baby climbs, Dr. Mario went to his personal shelf and scanned the supplies he stored. His spare clothing, white coat, shoes, and a mirror, which resembles his hat. He was fully aware of Kirby capabilities on abilities, but this outside the tournament, which is forbidden rule.
He felt bad for rejecting Kirby help. He was a baby, after all. He grabbed his hat, a lolipop, and sheets of paper with a crayon box. He shut the shelf and approached the two, Kirby looked curiously at the band-aid on Toon Link wrist.
Toon Link darted his eyes at the doctor, having a handful of what could entertain them, and giggled softly. He slightly elevated his right arm, pointing at Dr. Mario and Kirby looked up by his motion.Kirby notices what presented on his gloved hands.
And Kirby was so happy.
Kirby reached out his stubs, wanting the kindly gesture from Dr. Mario. The doctor set the lolipop, papers, and crayon box beside Kirby and adjusted the hat on Kirby.
Kirby gifted a Dr. Mario hat!
Kirby clapped his stubs together, cheering happily. He loved helping his friends who were hurt. Dr. Mario removed the plastic from the red lolipop and handed it to Kirby.
Kirby really loves his friends! He begins nibbling the sweet treat, pop it out from his tiny mouth, and offers to Toon Link to share. The Hero of Winds tilted his head but watched from behind Kirby that Dr. Mario shook his head silently.
The young Hylian followed his direction and respectfully shook his head. Kirby probably assumes having sweets after witnessing his bitter face when he took some weird looking pills could counter it effects.
Speaking of effects, Toon Link yawned.
Or it was it already that time to rest, since it was 8 PM.
The Star Warrior nibbled his lolipop, and Kirby pulled out a green crayon and began coloring the clean, white paper while Toon Link examined the baby drawing in imagination into his perspective.
...
Two hours later...
Dr. Mario went out to collect Hyrule Herbs from Hyrule fields. The Breath of the Wild Link universe was vast—hundreds or thousands of new resources he could podsibly experiment. He believed Link has done the majority of them.
The difficult task was finding a fairy, and he knows they can be captured in a bottle... in a rare location. In Toon Link universe, he knows they can be found inside a fairy fountain, but only he can access it due to being chosen by the fairy.
Link, on the other hand, requires stealth and knowledge of their location. He got a few insights. One was located in Kakariko village above the hill. The other three are too dangerous to tread in an expansive of Hyrule.
When he requested items from Master Hand, it usually responds quickly with a supply crate of necessities. Due to the fact that the game masters vanished and failed to accept requests, it became clear that Dr. Mario had to rely on his sense and wisdom to stabilize his own work.
Dr. Mario arrived at the entrance of his clinic. He scanned his punch card to gain access into his office. When he enters, he made a turn to the corridors and went to his room. Upon reaching to the door and open, he spotted Kirby and Toon Link sleeping beside each other. There was drawings scattered on the tile white flooring.
Toon Link was sleeping on his left side, his chest touching the pink marshmallow where Kirby took the right side, slightly drooling with his tiny mouth open. Toon Link His yellow crayon fell from his right stub.
"Kuuurrryyyuuu..." Kirby snored, sleeping on his front round body.
Dr. Mario avoided the cute doodles from Kirby and covered the blankets on the two with one free hand. Toon Link cradled his right stiff arm close to Kirby.
Kirby drawings were rather... promising. He assumed the silly scribbles, based on characters he drew. There was a boy with blue hair named "Marf", holding his... stick? Though, it was his sword.
There was another drawing a guy with blue hair. He can distinguish the red cape and a longer stick, touching the grass. Surprisingly, he spelled his name right.
Another drawing features a yellow circle... Pac-Man?
An unfinished drawing, he believed it resembled Mario. Red oval and blue.
A picture that was kind of obvious to point out was a fox and a blue bird, holding their guns. It was quite adorable, and they're in space, apparently.
This picture seemed a little too accurate and steady. Actually, Dr. Mario was unpleasantly surprised how well detailed it was.
It was Ganondorf with his broadsword from Ocarina of Time. Although, he noticed a distinctive out of character as he drew his nose longer...? His nose was so pointy that it was longer than his signature weapon. Looking very angry and frowning, the doctor chuckled quietly. He believed this drawing was Toon Link.
He went to his desk and scattered Hyrule Herbs and a variety of them to organize them neatly. His eyes spotted a doodle under the piles of herbal remedies. He snatched the paper and pulled the slip quickly, leaving the herbs unfazed.
Dr. Mario inspected the colorful image of him and Kirby in a grassy field. Flowers and stars in a ray of sunshine, holding hands with a huge smile. A smile that looked like Ditto when it transformed.
He darted his eyes at the wooden board and pinched the available pin, and punctured the beautiful drawing on the board. A little souvenier from Kirby really brightened the room.
Before he resumes his research on herbs, someone knocks on the door. Upon entering, which is strange to have visitors at this time was Ike.
The Hero of Radiance enters, nodding once to show respect. "I'm here to pick up Kirby."
Dr. Mario raised a brow, eyeing at him to a dozing Kirby, creating a bubble from his drooling mouth. He wonders why Ike wanted to extract Kirby and let out a confused look.
And Ike knew his language. He turned his head to the sign beside the door. Dr. Mario glanced at his vision of interests, and it pretty much explained his thoughts.
The sign said, 'No visitors past 8 PM.' It was already 9, and the man in white coat wasn't present at his office to pick up Kirby? It is nice of him to pick Kirby up, but wouldn't be rude to do so?
Dr. Mario shook his head and smiled—gesturing to let Kirby stay for his friend. He seemed fonded with Toon Link.
Ike nodded, showing no argument and left the room quietly while Dr. Mario went to his desk and examined the herbs to help Toon Link recover.
