Author Notes - Time for an ironic take on Who Can You Trust, ironic how so? You'll see...

Reviews -

The Storyteller993 - Yeah, sorry to disappoint but even in my earliest drafts the furthest I had Jasmine making it this season was early merge, just feels a tad too obvious of a winner in this season considering the cast, she actually is in my top 30 characters! But I went a little different with the finale pairing for this season (You'll see), and don't worry I took no offence at all, I welcome all criticism, it's how you improve! As for your second point, yeah we finally get some of Scott's antagonistic work, Julia and Dawn are gaining suspicions so let's see how that affects it going into the early merge! Glad you're still enjoying the story my friend!

Guest - Glad you found the Chase and Dave gambit amusing, I felt it was a bit too harsh on Harold in canon as well personally. The Courtney and Julia bit will come to fruition eventually, that I can say.

Remaining Campers:

Screaming Gophers: Cody, Scott, Zee, Damien, Priya, Zoey

Killer Bass: Chase, Dave, Courtney, Julia, Dawn, Eva, MK

"Last time on Total Drama Island..." Chris began from the dock. "Things really got cooking between the campers. Zee took charge of the Gophers, but was foiled by the sabotage of one of his own teammates in the challenge, Scott. Damien had a hard day, being taken out of the challenge by an injury, but on the other side Dave not only led the Killer Bass to victory, but managed to get one over notorious Bass prankster, Chase! In the end, it wa buh-bye Beth, thanks to Scott throwing off the Gophers. Will the good vibes of the last episode stay alive? Or will the trust the campers have in their teammates be exposed at the first real hurdle? Find out this week on Total...Drama...Island!"

(Theme Song Plays)

(Fade to Episode)

The episode opened in the mess hall, as Chef was scooping what looked like slop onto one of the campers trays. "Today's breakfast," The Cook began offscreen "is an Italian/fast-food fusion casserole." He proudly announced, adding a straw onto the slop.

"Aren't these just leftovers from the cooking challenge?" Zee asked, with a puzzled look.

"Yeah that's right! You got a problem with that!?" The cook aggressively replied.

"Nah man, this is gonna be sweet!" Zee chuckled, sipping into the straw as he walked off.

"That boy is not right." Chef shook his head, as he served the next camper, MK, who gave a worried look at her tray.

The camera cut to the Gopher table, as Zoey had tarot cards on the desk, Cody sitting next to her watching on in awe.

"What you guys doing?" Zee asked as he took a seat next to Damien, who still had an icepack on his head, with Priya placing it for him.

"Showing Cody his fortune." Zoey simply stated.

"It's a great distraction from the food." Cody added, as his team chuckled, save Scott.

"I don't know what you're talking about, this stuff is great." Scott said, stuffing some into his mouth, earning odd looks from the others except for Zee. Scott scowled, as the team turned away from him.

"So far the strategy has been working just fine. But now my team is a little too buddy-buddy." Scott confessed. "Now that the numbers are down, it's time to move onto stage two." He chuckled to himself.

The camera returned to the Bas table, who we're all laughing and joking, even Chase.

"I gotta say Dave, you and MK have some serious prankster potential." Chase told the pair.

"Yeah, I'd prefer to keep that as a one time thing." The Normal Guy responded, as MK just smirked.

"Plus, I'll leave the dumb pranks to you, and keep the snarky thing for myself."

"Suit yourself, but it's going to be hard toning down the pranks, not like we have any other entertainment here." Chase sighed.

"As weird as it is, he might have a point." Julia said to Eva, who shrugged, as she ate her slop.

The camera flashed, showing Chris in the woods, as some somber music played. "Hi, Chris here. We'd just like to say how proud we are of the campers for showing what a unified group of teenagers can look like. So the producers and I thought the best way to reward them for their good behaviour would be, to exploit their trust for laughs. This is going to be awesome." Chris finished with a chuckle, rubbing his hands together manically.

The camera flashed once more to the dock, as the campers had their backs to the host in their respective teams. "So, last week's challenge showed that you guys are getting really chummy with each other," Chris started, as the camera cut to Zee chugging a soda as Cody cheered him on, "And burying the hatchet on some issues." The camera cut to Chase poking his face, with Dave watching with an amused look.

"So, this weeks challenge is going to be centred around how much you guys really trust each other, because, how much do you really know about your competition?" Chris finished, with an alluring look at the others.

xxx

"I'm trusting Courtney right now." Julia confessed. "Well, I guess it's more exploitation, but it counts." Julia confessed, smirking slightly, as she looked at her nails.

xxx

"There will be three major challenges completed by two or more members of your teams. Normally we'd have you guys choose your partners but not this time! More fun for me." Chris finished.

The camera flashed, and the contestants gathered by a rock wall. "Okay, so for the first challenge you'll be doing an extreme freehand rock climbing adventure! Dave and Chase will play for the Bass." The camera cut to the two giving each other a wary look, "And Priya and Zoey will play for the Gophers," The two girls shared a warm smile.

"Here's your belay and harness." Chris said as he threw them to both teams, Chase caught them, and Dave gave a concerning look, as Zoey caught them for the Gophers.

"Wait, you telling me you don't wanna climb?" Dave said in surprise.

"As much as I would, Eva broke one of my fingers this morning when I flicked some gruel at her with a spoon." Chase held up his bent thumb, causing a few contestants to crease, then look to Eva.

"What? He got too comfortable." The Tough Girl simply said.

"You can climb if you want." Zoey told Priya.

"no, no it's fine if you want to climb." Priya retorted.

"Okay, Zoey, you climb. Before we're here all day." The host said with an annoyed expression.

"Wait, do you really think you can hold her up? No offence but the arms are pretty twig like." Scott asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's fine, I'm stronger than I look." Priya told him with a slight smile, as Scott just shrugged.

"You won't be holding her up exactly." Chris began to explain. "One camper pulls the slack through the belay as the camper climbs. If the camper falls the belay will stop them from catching. The catch? Both the side and the base of the mountain are rigged with a few minor distractions, like rusty nails, slippery oil slicks, mild explosives and a few other surprises."

"Aw man, now I wish I could climb." Chase pouted.

"You and me both." Dave sighed.

"The person with the belay must hold their partner up, it's all about trust people." Chase, and Dave looked distraught, as the two girls kept their composure with calm smiles. "and remember, never let go of the rope. Your partner's life depends on it."

"Well it's been nice knowing you guys." Dave muttered, as Chase began to strap him in.

"You'll be fine, I've done this a few times for my ViewTube channel before, got some pretty nasty wipe outs too. Just a shame Pete forgot to press record." Chase informed. "Alright, I got you strapped in tightly.

"A little too tight, don't you think?"

xxx

"So, this goes one of two ways, either Chase and Dave win us a point, or Chase is the reason Dave gets gravely injured, and we know who we're voting off.. MK confessed, crossing her arms and legs, before looking at the camera in surprise. "What? The numbers are dwindling now people."

xxx

The scene returned to Dave and Zoey beginning their climbs, as dramatic music played. Dave, narrowly avoiding the rusty nails, but a few steps behind Zoey. Dave began to speed up, before a mild explosive went off to the side of Zoey, which narrowly missed her, and one hit Dave directly in his chest area causing him to fall off and scream, before stopping mid air.

"You're good man, I got you!" Chase commented. Dave gave him a nod, before getting back to climbing.

"I promised surprises! Habanero pepper sauce anyone?" Chris said with a sly grin, as he appeared into view of the camera holding a water gun.

He suddenly sprayed it at Priya, who dodged, causing it to hit Damien in return. "Aw, my eyes!" The boy screamed, causing Priya to gasp and turn to him. "Damien, you okay!" Priya slightly let go off the rope, the same time an explosion went off, causing Zoey to fall and hit the ground to the back of them.

"Oh! Sorry Zoey!" Priya gasped, before grabbing back onto the rope.

"Yeah...it's cool..." Zoey said, looking mildly annoyed, as she started her climb back up.

"Priya, focus! We need the win here!" Cody called out, as the girl nodded, restoring her resolve.

"I'll take you to the infirmary." Scott said, grabbing onto his side.

"And I'm gonna head to the bathroom very quick." Julia said to Eva, who nodded, as the three left.

xxx

"Between setting myself on fire, burning myself again, the concussion in the last challenge, and now this?" Damien began to confess, looking in the completely wrong direction due to the redness of his eyes. "Just when I thought I might be cut out for this." He sighed.

xxx

The scene returned to sauce being sprayed, as Chase opened his mouth wide and swallowed it all. "Yum, tasty." He commented to the host with a smug look. "Best you got?"

"Is that the best we got?" The host whispered to the camera.

The camera flashed, returning to the Zoey and Dave climbing.

"Come on Dave, pick up the pace! You're so close!" He called out, Dave went slightly faster, before touching one of the rusty nails, and falling off again, Chase caught him, eyes widening, but caused a huge wedgie for Dave.

"I knew it was too tight..." Dave said in a high voice.

"Ouch, you hate to see that." Zee commented, as the host and Cody nodded in agreement.

"So true my man, so true." Chris noted.

The camera cut to Dave attempting to regain his composure, before hitting one of the oil slicks and falling again. Chase attempted to grab him, but yowled in pain. The rope caught under his foot, causing him to get pulled up in the air, hitting Dave and the pair dawdling in mid air.

"Well, this bites." Chase sighed.

"You can say that again." Dave added.

The camera cut to the top of the mountain, as Zoey finally reached it. "I did it, we won!" Zoey called out to her team, as they broke out into high fives and cheers.

"Looks like the Gophers have won the first challenge."

The camera cut to Julia exiting the bathroom, as she noticed Scott by the cabins holding a sack, entering the Bass side of the cabin. She raised an eyebrow, and went to fellow him, peeking through the window. She noticed Scott grabbing Dave's hand sanitizer, and Chase's aftershave, putting it into the sack, as she ducked when she saw him exiting.

"Interesting..." She simply said.

The camera flashed to the mess hall, in darkness as it was illuminated by spotlights on the tables and a podium that was now in the middle. Zee and Damien rose from the right on presumably a mechanical platform, as Courtney and Dawn followed suit on the left. An intern did multiple front flips from the left side, landing in front of the podium, as Chris appeared from it, dusting himself off and giving a toothy grin to the camera.

"And now, round two! The Extreme! Cooking! Challenge!" He dramatically introduced rising his arms, as the intern crawled away to the right side, being watched by all four of the campers. "Each team will choose who cooks and who eats."

"I was head chef in the last one, you can take this." Zee told Damien.

"Zee, I can barely see right now!" Damien called back, pointing at his eyes.

"Sorry, no take backs!" Chris said off screen, as Damien sighed.

"Might I request to cook? My diet is rather specific and I'm unaware as to what Chris will be giving us." Dawn asked Courtney, who nodded.

"Okay, just try not to kill me." The A Type said, in a rather one note tone.

xxx

"Okay, so I'm mildly blind, but it's just a cooking challenge right? How dangerous could it be?" Damien innocently asked the confessional shrugging his shoulders and raising his arms on his sides.

xxx

"Today you'll be preparing Fugu Shashimi, the traditional Japanese blowfish." Chris informed, as Zee looked on with a smile and Damien nervously wanted to say something before a gong was hit.

"The Fugu blowfish contains enough lethal toxin to kill thirty people." Chris informed, holding a stick as a brief projector presentation occurred.

"Fishies! Meet your maker!" Chef threw one fish to both teams, as Courtney lightly flinched, and Damien gulped.

"They must be sliced very carefully to cut around the poisonous organs. The poison paralyses the nerves and there is no antidote, so no worries!" Chris added the first part in a more suspenseful tone, before becoming very care-free in the last part.

"Okay...let's get our bearings here slightly..." Damien poked the fish lightly with a knife, and it flew around the room, before going out the mess hall kitchen as it broke a window. "Uh oh."

The camera flashed, as Dawn added the finishing touches on a neat little plate of sushi. "I believe I am finished." The Moonchild told the host.

Damien was next, a similar plate of sushi, but the colouring a little off in certain places. "Alright, that should be good." He sighed in relief.

Dawn pushed the plate slightly to Courtney, who gulped, before slowly putting it closer to her mouth. The camera cut to Chris and Chef who looked on in anticipation, as a drumroll beat played, then to Damien and Zee. Courtney placed it in her mouth, chewing with a nervous look, before swallowing. "It's good, I'm okay." She said with a relaxed smile.

The host and the cook then turned to Damien and Zee, as Damien pushed the plate towards Zee. "Okay man, honestly, if you don't want to eat it I wouldn't blame you."

"Nah its chill dude." Zee waved a hand in front of him, before grabbing a piece of sushi and chucking it in his mouth. Zee's expression suddenly changed, and he hit his head on the table three times. "See! All good!" Zee said, pumping a fist, and staying in place, before turning blue, and then hitting the ground. The camera cut to Zee vomiting out of the mouth, as Courtney exclaimed at the sight.

"It's cool, give him twenty four hours and he'll be up walking and breathing good as new." Chris simply waved off.

"You are going to give him medical attention though, right?" Dawn asked, not looking up from holding Zee's hand. Chris walked into the view, before kneeling down to give Zee mouth to mouth as the camera faded to black.

The camera returned to the dock, as Courtney sat with Dave and MK.

"Good job on winning that second challenge by the way, we definitely needed it." Dave told the A Type, who blushed slightly and turned away.

"Yeah...also since I have you guys here, I have a request to make." MK told her teammates, who looked on at her, slightly wary. "Next time we lose, I'm thinking we need to axe Julia."

"What, why?" Courtney quickly said, before regaining composure. "I mean, is there anything that makes you think that?"

"I was speaking to Dawn, and she has some weird feeling about her." She explained.

"Well...I'm not too sure, but Dawn has helped me out before so I can't imagine her being too wrong about this type of thing..." Dave said, scratching his head.

"Just something to think about." MK told him, as the pair looked on at each other.

xxx

"Oh what to do...On one hand, I know Julia is definitely more than she seems, but on the other, I owe her and I'm not one to break my arrangements, this is tough..." Courtney confessed, putting her hand to her head.

xxx

"My plan was too lay low until the mid game before I start making some moves." MK confessed. "And now that we're almost there, it's time to start." MK gave a slight grin with a chuckle, as she rubbed her hands together.

The camera returned to the medical tent, as Zee was in one of the beds groaning. Chef appeared into view, wearing a women's nurse uniform sporting a giant needle. "This won't hurt a bit." He told the boy. "This will hurt a whole lot." He said, with a smile on his face.

The camera flashed, returning to the contestants in the woods. "Alright, now that we got Zee set up in the medical tent, we can begin the third challenge. It involves three more challenges! Its the three blind challenges! It begins with the blind William Tell, followed by the blind trapeze, and culminating in the treacherous blind toboggan.

Chris walked over to Chase, putting goggles on his face and an arrow on his head. "Like legendary marksman William Tell, you'll be knocking arrows off your partners head with crab apples."

"Wasn't it the other way around?" Courtney interjected, before being shushed by Chris.

"Also the shooter will be blindfolded." The contestants gasped briefly, stepping away from Chase as Chris blindfolded himself before continuing. "The person who knocks off the arrow well causing the least amount of facial damage wins." As Chris said this, he readied a slingshot with an apple, firing it into Chase's crotch, as he grabbed the area and hit the ground.

"Aw nuts! Cody and Scott will be one team, Eva and Julia will be the other."

"I'll shoot." Scott quickly said. "Reminds me of shooting rats back home on the farm."

"Alright." Cody sighed.

"Okay, let's rock and roll!" Chris informed, as the camera cut to show Cody and Eva sported with the goggles and apples on their hand. The contestants off to the side, and Scott and Julia a favourable distance away from their partners with a small bucket of apples to their sides.

Scott and Julia readied their slingshots, Scott being slightly off, and Julia hitting Eva on the side, as she barely even flinched. Eva and Cody were hit a few times respectively on their bodies, as an action sequence of all the apples hitting them began to play, Cody noticeably in more pain. Finally, Julia swung a shot which knocked the arrow off the Tough Girl's head.

"About time." Eva sighed, as she took off her goggles.

"And the Bass take the lead with Julia and Eva!" Chris commented from the sides.

Scott took off his blindfold, and did a loud fake sigh. "Oh man! Guess I lost it. Sorry Cody." He said unapologetically, as the Geek was on the ground, groaning.

The camera flashed, the contestants now standing by a trapeze area. "And now, the blind trapeze! To avoid serious injury, the trapeze has been set up over this pond. Which is full of jellyfish." Chris paused as the contestants gaped. "You two will stand blind on the platforms until your partners tell you to jump." Chris said, handing a blindfold to MK and Priya, who stood next to Dave and Damien respectively.

"And then?" MK asked.

"Well, hopefully they'll catch you." He shrugged, "Or that'll be one heck of a painful swim." He gestured over to the pond, electricity now buzzing from it as he chuckled. "Okay, hut hut!" He quickly cut off his laughter.

The camera flashed to show Priya and Damien waiting on the platform on the left, as Dave was already on the trapeze, with MK on the side, blindfold on.

"Okay MK, get ready!" Dave called out, as the girl gulped, and steadied her resolve.

"Alright, just say when!"

"Okay...now!" Dave paused, and when MK jumped he briefly caught her, but failed to hold her up and she fell into the pond, she screamed off camera as Dave watched on in horror, then the other contestants and Chris did.

"Well, now that you get the gist of it, Priya, your turn!" Chris called out to her.

The girl gulped, and put on her blindfold.

"Priya, you trust me right!" Damien called out.

"Y-Yes, I do!" She cleared her through, at the slight squeakiness in her voice at first.

"Okay! Then, jump...now!" Damien told her, and as the girl yelled falling off, was caught by Damien.

"You did it!" Zoey cheered, as did the rest of the Gophers.

"And this one goes to the Screaming Gophers!" Chris said, as MK still screamed in the pond. "Oh, right, can someone help her out?" He changed his expression, looking blankly at the Bass side.

The camera flashed to the medical tent, as MK walked in, still with a jellyfish on top of her hat. "Can't believe he dropped me." She muttered, as the jellyfish stung her. She sat down on one of the beds and looked over at Chef. "You able to remove this thing?"

The Cook nodded, before going back to feeding Trent, as MK sighed and dropped down on the bed.

The camera flashed, as the contestants were back in the woods now. "And now, the final leg. The blind toboggan race. Each team will have a driver, and a navigator, the driver steers well the navigator shouts directions. Oh yeah, and the driver will be blindfolded."

The contestants gasped once more, as the host continued "Not many of you left huh? I keep losing you guys!" The host chuckled. "Oh well, Zoey and Cody, Chase and Dawn." The pairings looked at each other as their names were called.

The camera flashed to show the campers at the finish line, before panning up the mildly high cliff.

"Okay, Cody, I know you're nervous, but we can do this!" Zoey said, encouragingly, as Cody was nervously biting his nails. "I really need you to come through with the directions."

The two were stopped as they looked over at Chef, who was lubing the sleds with a brush. "Just lubing them up! Give a little more speed going." He said, as a chord played over it, and Zoey sighed.

The camera flashed, the pairs now on their sleds. Zoey and Chase in the front blindfolded, with Dawn and Cody on the back. "On your marks...get set..." Chris suddenly blew an airhorn, as him and Chef pushed down their sleds.

Dramatic music played, as it cut to the Bass, Dawn looking on nervously. "Right! Left!" She called out, as Chase did what was told, avoiding the obstacles.

The Gophers were slowly behind, Cody still looking nervous. "Watch out!" He simply said, as they narrowly avoided a tree. "Cody, I need them more precise!" Zoey told him.

In front of them, Chase and Dawn hit a slope like rock, going through the air. "Woah, we're flying through this!" Chase excitedly said.

"More than you know!" Dawn called out, a look of fear on her face, before they landed in the water. "Ah!" She screamed, as they then slowly went over the cliff, hitting a large log sending them forward.

"Cody, please!" Zoey told him once more. "I know you can do this!" She said, as they narrowly avoided another tree.

"Okay, let's do this." Cody sighed, before giving a more determined look. "Left! Right! Straight ahead now Zoey!" They avoided the obstacles with a lot better teamwork, as Dawn and Chase suddenly appeared in the picture again.

"Right! Left!" Both Dawn and Cody called out to their partners, as Cody suddenly looked back missing a minor explosion.

"What the!?" He exclaimed, before the camera cut to Chris who was pushing down on a small detonator.

"We had a few explosives left over, and I just hate to waste." The host innocently explained, before pushing down on it again, as another explosion went off, off camera. The camera cut to the woods, as explosions could be heard going off, alongside Dawn and Cody giving directions.

The camera cut back to the pairs, as an explosion went off directly under Cody and Zoey, who screamed in the air. It cut to the finish line as the remaining Bass members now cheered, with the remaining Gophers groaning, the Bass stopped their cheers when Cody and Zoey appeared above them, landing on top of the finish line, shortly followed by Dawn and Chase who slid in, hitting a tree.

The Gophers cheered, approaching Cody and Zoey.

"Cody, great job!" Zoey said giving him a kiss on the cheek and pulling him in for a hug as the Geek giggled and blushed.

"And the Gophers are the winners of the toboggan race, and today's challenge!" The Bass cheered, with MK now there with bandages on her head, before looking over at Cody suspiciously.

The camera flashed, to MK and Cody now alone, as the girl approached him.

"So, congrats on your big win." MK told him, a slight smirk on her face.

"Ha, thanks, a shame you guys have to vote someone out though." He said. "I hope it's not you, for what it's worth."

"Oh, don't worry about me. I heard you and Zoey got a little close and personal though." She added, a slight annoyed look on her face.

"That? No no! Besides, she's helping me out with someone else I have a thing for." Cody sighed, before admitting, slightly blushing.

"Oh, well...good." MK said, giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking off.

The camera flashed once more, now at the Bass campfire ceremony.

Mk, Julia, Courtney and Dave on the bottom row, with Eva, Chase and Dawn on the top row.

"Alright, who wants a treat?" Chris said, holding the usual tray of marshmallows. "A tasty treat represents exemption, security, peace of mind-" Chris led, but was cut off by a sighing Courtney.

"Just get on with it."

"Okay if you don't get a marshmallow you walk down the dock of shame and you can never comeback." Chris quickly said. "Ever!" He said, appearing into a shot of Courtney, as the girl left her mouth open, before rolling her eyes as the host walked back to his spot.

"Let's se...one for Dave, one for Eva, one for Dave." Chris pointed at the marshmallows, before picking them up and throwing them to the aforementioned three campers. "Dawn, Courtney, well done ladies." He also threw one to them, as the camera cut to a now nervous looking MK, and a relatively bored looking Julia.

"Looks like we only have one left. Julia, and MK. The final marshmallow..." Chris paused, as a dramatic cord played, panning between the two faces.

"Oh come on already." Courtney said slightly muffled, a marshmallow in her mouth.

"Don't rush me! The audience eats up this kind of dramatic conclusion!" The host countered, as Courtney sighed again.

"Julia." He said, throwing her the final marshmallow.

MK stood up in surprise looking at her team. "What! Why me?"

"Because I saw you fraternizing with the enemy." Eva gruffly spoke, putting the marshmallow in her mouth.

"And you tried to blindside me." Julia added, giving MK a smug wave.

"Well, guess it was too soon for me to try anything, could've made it to the finale if I kept my mouth shut." She sighed, as the walked down to the Dock of Shame.

"The rest of you, you're all safe...for now." Chris said.

xxx

"Well, well well, on the plus side, I got rid of one of the little schemers on my team, but on the downside, Courtney no longer owes me a favour..." Julia tapped her chin in thought. "But that's no problem, after all, she still has one weakness whether or not she'll admit it, and him? He can be manipulated a whole lot easier." She finished.

Author Note

- So there you have it, MK bites the dust! I kind of knew early on I wanted MK to be a pre-merge protagonist, and she was very fun to write, but would be ruined by her thinking she was more or less safe until the merge and trying to start thinking ahead, which I think is something very in character for her personally. But hey, at least she got to have a nice moment with Cody so I'll take the small victories, and don't worry, this isn't the end of Cody x MK, no where near it. It was basically going to come down to Courtney's integrity, vs strategy, and whilst later season Courtney would pick strategy, I think based on canon Island, this is what she probably would actually do. Only two more eliminations left until the merge, who else do you think is gonna bite the dust? And also, back to a better writing style I think. And with that, toodles!

Elimination Order

22nd - Max (The Super Villain)

21st - Ezekiel (The Homeschooled Guy)

20th - Anne-Maria (The Jersey Shore Reject)

17th - Tyler (The Jock Who Sucks at Sports)

16th - Sam (The Game Junkie)

15th - Jasmine (The Outbacker)

14th - Beth (The Wannabe)

13th - MK (The Schemer)
