Chapter 20

Its the day of the Volleyball Match and Sora is exhausted by all the questions he got asked by Charlotte the day before. He and Lewis have come to watch all four girls play. A mixture of mistrif and trouble arises during the match making both Sora and Lewis raise eyeblows. Charlotte touches water that was on the volleyball itself as she makes a dive into the river nearby putting the match on hold.

Lewis: Sora, you look like you haven't slept a wink

Sora: I had Charlotte asking me all sorts of questions yesterday, she wanted to know everything! How i become a merman, how long have i been friends with you guys, do i have powers...It's like she suddenly likes me!

Lewis: Everything?

Sora: We hadn't even got to the keyblade and heartless part yet and i am kinda glad! You guys only know about that secret because you happen to have seen me in battle with them. It would make her even more suspecious of me!

Lewis: How did you explain your powers then?

Sora: Thankfully i managed to lie and explain that i magically recieved a trident (Aka my keyblade) the night i got my tail. I haven't got to showing her that yet.

Lewis: Seriously Sora?

Sora: Ok maybe a bit extreme, I just wish she would cut it with the questions!

Lewis: Do you think she likes you more now that she knows your a merman?

Sora: Maybe! I'll always be a bit weary of her

Sora and Lewis catch up with Cleo, Rikki, Emma and Charlotte who were on their way to their Volleyball Match. The girls arrive nervous as they watch the opposite team warm up. Sora and Lewis sit on the bench as a whistle blows and play begins. Emma digs the ball and it goes out.

Charlotte: Come on, Em no pain, no gain

Rikki: No pain, no gain? Who says that?

Ball goes back into play and a girl from the opposite side hits the ball hard towards the girls side

Cleo: You didn't have to do it that hard

Opposite Team Girl 1: Sorry, must've been a sudden gust of wind

Opposite Team Girl 2: These girls have got no chance

While Sora and Lewis watch they couldn't help notice something strange about the way the ball was acting when it went to the opposite side

Opposite Team Girl 2: What's going on? Its coming back!

The ball comes back in to the court giving the girls a point

Opposite Team Girl 1: What? How did that happen?

Cleo: Must've been a sudden gust of wind!

Sora: Did you see that?

Lewis: I certainlly did!

Sora and Lewis watched as play went on. The PE Teacher Miss Scarf was getting ever so excited. However only Lewis and Sora knew that the reason why they were getting points were that they were using their powers to cheat. The opposite team asked for a team out. The whisper blew and it was granted to all players.

Lewis: Don't you think you're overdoing it just a little?

Rikki: Lewis, they have no idea what's going on!

Lewis: They will if you keep this up

Rikki: Thanks for the warning nana!

Lewis: Fine! Sora and i will keep our opinions to ourselves! Won't we Sora?

Sora: Looks like we don't have much of a choice!

Cleo: Guys, we could actually win this

Lewis: By cheating?

Charlotte: Lewis? Stay out of it!

Rikki: You heard the girl, stay out of it!

Emma: We can do this, we can beat them! Let's go!

Cleo, Emma, Rikki and Charlotte: TEAM!

Sora and Lewis go back on the bench. Play commenced but the ball goes into the nearby river and a girl from the opposite team picks it up but doesn't dry it off putting it back into play. Making the Cleo, Rikki, Emma and Charlotte nervous.

Emma: Don't you want to dry that off a little first?

Opposite Team Girl 1: What? Not scared of a little water, are you?

The opposite team girl dug the ball over the net which was heading straight for Charlotte!

Emma: Stop Charlotte! Go, get in the water! GO!

Opposite Team Girl 2: What's she doing? She can't do that!

Charlotte dashes for the nearby river before she is exposed. Sora and Lewis run and help her.

Lewis: Call a time out while Sora and I try and find her

Sora and Lewis went looking for her on the land. Sora felt getting into the water wouldn't be a good idea and may cause a scene. A few yards away Charlotte in her tail managed to drag herself onto land hiding herself beside an upside down boat. As she huffed, little did she know she receives a visit from Demyx suddenly appearing before her.

Demyx: There, there its ok im not here to expose your secret

Charlotte: Who? Who are you?

Demyx: Why my name is Demyx sweetheart, looks like your a bit stuck!

Charlotte: Ah yeah but i'm fine thank you...

Demyx: I can help you get rid of that tail of yours so you can return to your game

Charlotte looks around feeling very uneasy and scared

Demyx: Its ok, we're the only ones here all you need to seem heat!

Charlotte trys not to listen to Demyx as she places her hands on her tail. Suddenly steam begins to appear. She giggled as she felt herself getting dry.

Lewis (from a distance): Charlotte!

Sora (from a distance): Charlotte!

Her legs return and got herself up. Charlotte wanted to see thank you to Demyx but he had already disappeared. Lewis and Sora find her.

Sora: Did you?

Lewis: Did you just...?

Charlotte: What? Use my bare hands to generate enough heat to evaporate water? Why, yes! Yes i believe i did!

The three of them return to the Volleyball Pitch to find everyone waiting for them and play began once again. After some serious play without magic, the girls win the game fairly. They all go to celebrate with juices at the Juicy Net Cafe.

Rikki: Yeah! Here's to victory

Emma: Oh, come on Rikki, admit it. Things worked out well

Rikki: Yeah buts there's one thjing i can't figure out, how'd you dry off so quickly?

Charlotte (giggles): Oh that, thats easy

Charlotte puts out her hand and aims for Rikki's juice heating it to death

Cleo: Wait, i thought you already had my power?

Charlotte: Yeah, but i guess i've got Rikki's too...oh and one more thing...

Charlotte puts out her hand and aims again for Rikki's juice now freezing it to death

Charlotte (giggles): I've also go Emma's, isn't this great? I must be some sort of super mermaid!

Lewis runs to the table in shock and to observe Charlotte's handy work. Sora along with Rikki, Cleo and Emma were shocked.

Authors Note: This is Part 3 following the events of the episode Boil Boil Toil and Trouble. The next few chapters will move on from this episode. In the next chapters, I am looking forward to getting into the deeper side of Charlotte when she starts to go crazy and turns on Cleo, Emma and Rikki. This will give Sora a reason to be even more suspecious of her and also the chance for Demyx to become more involved keeping his eye on Charlotte and plotting evil plans.
