Halo, let's continue with the second season. Enjoy the reading.
Things are back to normal in Beacon just like for the team RWBY and LLMM. It's been a few weeks since Blake, Sun, Ruby and Penny, the girl Ruby met, stopped Roman Torchwick and the White Fang at the docks.
- What exactly happened? - Lynda couldn't believe it when Lance told her what happened.
- Blake and that exchange student, Sun, tried to catch that criminal, but Ruby and Penny intervened to stop him.
- I knew it, - Mike mused. – the White Fang only works with faunus. Why would they get together with a human?
- Maybe they started to make allies. - Lance guessed.
- Who cares about the White Fang and that Remus guy?! - Lynda didn't want to talk about it anymore. - The question's what should we do on the weekend?
- Team RWBY received a new high-definition TV plus a Pi-Box. - Mike suggested. - How about a video game marathon?
- Not bad, - Lynda clearly didn't want to sit in front of the monitor all day. – but what if we would rather spend our time outdoors?
- I'm guessing you've already planned something in advance? – Lance already sensed that Lynda wanted nothing more than for them all to nod to her idea.
- Of course! I was planning a fishing trip! - Lynda jumped up in joy. - Just the 4 of us as a team builder trip!
- I didn't think you liked fishing. - Mike was surprised.
- Why wouldn't I want to? - Lynda asked just jokingly. - I came from Menagerie, a small island surrounded by the sea. They used to organize a fishing festival every year. They know quite a bit about fishing over there.
- I'm in. - Lance joined in. - My old man often took me fishing to the lake outside the city.
- My mom would never let me go out of town. - Mike was a little worried before Lynda just put her hand on his shoulder.
- C'mon, it's time to live a little and not just be mommy's little boy! You are old enough to make your own decisions and not let your mother control your life. - She grabbed both of Mike's shoulders and started shaking him. - Break out of your cage and finally live!
- Then… - They all waited with bated breath for Mike's answer. - I will go fishing with you and not tell my mother about it.
- THAT'S IT! – Lynda hugged the fat boy and howled loudly. - He did the first step! Then, wake up at 4 a.m. tomorrow!
- What?! – Mike regretted his decision at that moment. - So early?
- Of course! One of the golden rules of fishing is to start as early as possible! - Lynda saw Mandy out of the corner of her eye eating her lunch away from the team. - Hey, Mandy, - The fox faunus girl's ears twitched and half-lazily paid attention to her teammate. – we are going fishing tomorrow! Do you want to come? There is plenty of room and it will be fun.
- Thank you, but they said the same thing when I was lured at the age of 6 to work 16 hours in a factory of the Schnee company for starvation wages. - She answered monotonously and without interest.
- Oh c'mon! It will be fun! Just the four of us, we'll talk, have fun and see, the team will work well together! - Lynda continued to persuade her.
- My parents were also deceived by this promise from their bosses at Atlas. - Mandy still didn't want to go.
- Please, - Lynda didn't want to do it without Mandy. – you'll have more fun than you think. Your gonna really enjoy it!
- My pedophile shift manager said exactly the same thing. - Mandy's green eyes were still dismissive.
- Mandy, - Lance tried this time. – we want to spend some time together because who knows when we will have the last chance to go somewhere together. As a team and as friends.
- Especially if my mother finds out that I dared to do something without her permission and knowledge, she will never let me go. – Her three teammates surrounded Mandy and cornered her.
- Fine! - He sighed angrily. - Just promise that no one will try to rape me!
- It's a promise! - Lynda was out of herself by the joy. - Then 4 a.m.! - This reminder crushed Mike.
The next day early in the morning Lynda kept her promise exactly by the minute and as soon as the alarm went off at 4 a.m., she began to bark frantically and excitedly.
- WAKE UP, LAZY BAND! - Lynda couldn't stop barking and hopping. She jumped out of her bed and ran around. - Go fishing!
It wasn't hard for Mandy to get up as she was used to it, as was Lance with a long yawn. Mike was the only one who was still sleeping, the ventilator on his nose was enough to have a calm and restful sleep.
- Mike! - Lynda barked at him. - Wake up! - She pushed him with her foot. - We're going fishing!
- Not now... sleepy... - That was all he could mutter incomprehensibly.
- You asked for. - Lynda clamped down on the breathing tube making Mike unable to breathe.
- WHAT THE… - He woke up immediately but he was still confused. - What happened?!
- Alarm clock! We're going fishing!
- Yes... yes... the... fishing. – Mike struggled to his feet, although he hardly knew where exactly he was going.
- I already prepared everything! - Lynda was a bomb of energy. – I reserved a place and the boat at the lake, there will be bait vendors and we can rent rods too! We only need to bring a tent to camp there!
- I see you are very excited. - Lance couldn't help but notice how excited Lynda was getting about fishing.
- Of course! Fishing is very close to my heart!
The team, despite Mike still reeling, moved at a good pace as they left the academy, boarded a bus and were on their way to the city border. Mike snored loudly and fell asleep but the rest of the team was still awake.
- Would you explain, - Mandy broke the silence. – why do we have to go so early?
- You have to start in the morning, before sunrise, because at this time the fish are still waking up, they are tired, they don't even know where they are and at this time they will catch anything that fits in their mouths. - Lynda explained it like an expert.
- How do fish sleep? - It's interesting but now Mandy spoke the most, after Lynda.
- With open eyes. - Lynda snapped. - You can sleep like that.
- This is true! - Lance added. – My father had an old friend who always slept with his eyes open and just sat in front of the TV all day. We didn't recognize that he was dead for 3 days because we thought he was watching a marathon broadcast of the Elder Scrolls Chronicles.
- Mandy, have you ever fished in your life? - Lynda asked.
- No. In Atlas, most of the faunus live in slums and have to work for starvation wages. Also, it snows all the time and all the lakes in the area are frozen. They melt down a bit in the summer but even then, it's very cold and dangerous. I saw a lot of people and friends to drown and freeze to death.
- Oh, that's horrible.
- It is.
After a few hours the bus dropped them off at the edge of the city from where it was only a quarter of an hour's walk to the lake where the prepared motorboat and 4 fishing rods were already waiting for the team LLMM.
The lake was a beautiful sight. The morning sky was reflected on its clear water on the other side of which the sun began to rise and shine through. The air was pleasantly cool and the whole area was gravely silent.
- I'm not sure I want to get into that cockleboat. - Mandy got a little nervous at the sight of the boat.
- What now? – Lynda began to tire of the fox faunus's continuous pessimistic attitude.
- I have quite bad experiences with water and ships.
- Don't worry, if you stay in the ship you won't get hurt.
Lance and Mandy started loading the gear into the boat but Mike and Lynda were still talking.
- Did you also go fishing with your little brother? - Mike asked cautiously, knowing that Lynda wouldn't want the others to know that she had a younger brother.
- Um... yes. - Lynda looked a little worried at her other two teammates who didn't seem to hear them. - Every weekend. We used to compete who will get more and the winner can bite the ear of the loser.
- Seriously? - Mike couldn't believe his ears. - And you're going to let your little brother win?"
- A big sh*t! Look, - Lynda pulled away the right dog ear and Mike looked in horror at the long scar at the base. – I let him win once, that little bastard almost bit my ear off! - Mike laughed a little.
- Sounds cute.
- It wasn't cute when the blood poured from my head! It had to be sewn back!
- Would you come already?! - Lance's voice could be heard shouting from the prepared boat. Mandy was already sitting inside waiting nervously. Clearly, she's afraid of boating.
- We're going! – Lynda had already left and Mike followed.
The boat took the LLMM team to the middle of the lake, where all they had to do was drop the hook into the water and wait.
- Then… - Mandy just looked around. - are we not doing anything? Just waiting?
- That's the point. - Lynda just calmly put her hands on the back of her head and leaned back. - Calmness, silence and peace.
- Pretty quiet neighborhood. – For the first time in Mike's life he was in the wilderness without having to fear the attacking Grimm. - No field strength on my Scroll."
- Well, we are out in the middle of nowhere. - Lance replied. - There's nothing here but bait vendors and the White Fang's hideouts.
Mike stood up in the boat to see if his Scroll could gain some field strength but as soon as he stepped into a corner of the boat he completely lost his balance, fell on his belly, the corner of the boat hung into the water and water started pouring into the vehicle.
- What did you do?!
- Are you crazy?!
- Get out of there!
Mike's teammates shouted but it was too late, the water flooded the engine and destroyed it and the boat started to sink at a slow pace.
- Thank you very much, Mike! - Lynda was very angry that he ruined the fishing.
- Honestly, who foresaw this? - Lance was sitting in the bow, but he couldn't do anything about the sinking either.
- Did I tell you I can't swim? - Mandy added sarcastically.
- Me neither! - Mike was nervous and ashamed. – Some of you save us? Do you?
- C'mon, you heavy bastard. – Lynda threw Mike's arm around his neck and started to swim out with him.
- Would you mind? – Lance similarly rescued Mandy who continued to make everyone feel how bad she felt in a pessimistic and phlegmatic style.
The team LLMM sat around wet and cold after Lynda managed to start a fire.
- Look at me, - Mandy didn't hesitate to further increase the sour mood. - I'm cold, I'm hungry and I'm sitting around a campfire and I'm trying not to freeze to death. It's like being home again. I knew this trip was a bad idea. - She looked angrily at Lynda.
- Hey, I didn't sink the boat! – She rather exposed Mike to the gaze of her piercing, angry eyes.
- Excuse me, - Mike tried to excuse himself. – but the boat sank not entirely through my fault. Due to the poor weight distribution.
- In short, - Lance thought. – we weren't fat enough?
- So, what's the plan? - Mandy asked.
- I think we should go home and pretend it never happened. - Lance suggested.
- No! Wait! - Lynda didn't want to go home yet. - We can still have fun!
- I'm with Lance, - Mike joined in. – we are hungry, cold and that White Fang story scared me a little. Let's go home before they come and rape us.
- If that happens, - Mandy spoke angrily. – I'll never come in my freaking life to fish with you again!
- Calm down, - She put her hand on his shoulder and looked at Mike. - the fat ones get caught first.
- I heard this! - Mike snapped.
- Fine, - Lynda sighed in frustration. - let's go home. - She stood up and began to pack up her soaked gear. - I just wanted a nice and simple fishing trip.
- I'm sorry, Lynda, for sinking the boat. - Mike saw how devastated Lynda was because the tour was a big failure because of his fault. - Next time, I promise, I won't move in the boat.
- We'll come fishing another time, I promise. - Lance tried to comfort them.
- Do we leave before the Grimm eat us? – Mandy showed absolutely no sympathy for the dog faunus, she just complained in a sarcastic and phlegmatic style. - Oh, I'm so sad. – The whole team was now staring angrily at the fox faunus.
- You're such a ferret, you know that?! - Lynda cut in.
- No, I'm a fox. – Lynda just blinked for a while because she couldn't say anything to that either.
- Worst. Trip. Ever.
Roman and the White Fang haven't been idle in recent days. Despite the harbor malarkey they managed to loot several tons of Dust and the warehouse slowly but surely started to fill up. Roman spent days with observing Vale's map and plans on how to get the most Dust as easily as possible but as the amount of obtained Dust increased, the amount of Dust that could be obtained decreased and the police got tougher and harder to outwit. Despite the good pace, the loop started to tighten.
- Well, - Roman turned away from the map to look at his two young visitors, around 18, Emerald and Mercury who looked displeased. - she sent the kids again. – They could feel in his voice how nervous and tired he was. He hugged them from behind but they clearly didn't enjoy his touch. - As pleasant as a divorce. - The two young ones had already had enough of him, so they got out of his touch.
- Spare us your mouthfuls. - Emerald cut in.
- It was a joke. - He took out a piece of paper from Emerald's pocket. - And that might give me an idea of where you two went this morning.
- What?! – As soon as she saw the paper with the address, Emerald immediately started searching in her pocket.
- I'm a professional, kid. – Roman didn't seem happy to see that address on the paper and towered over the two young ones. - If you paid more attention, you might learn something. Now answer, why you had to this address?
- You just don't want to know? - Emerald scoffed.
- Yes. I do want to know. - Roman couldn't stand that kind of tone. - What were you doing there?
- We cleaned up your mess! – Mercury intervened. - At least one of them.
- It was under control!
- Two packed suitcases and a ticket to Vacuo proved otherwise. - Mercury didn't back down.
- Pay attention, you little punk, I don't recommend that you talk to me or Neo like that!
- Oh yes, your little girlfriend? - Mercury crossed his arms. - She hasn't been very active in the last few weeks. Is she as lame as you?
- If you or your sewer rat friend ever talks about Neo like that again, I swear... - He was about to hit Mercury with his cane but a woman's voice stopped him.
- Do what, Roman? - She was the woman who hired him. The one in red dress, black high-heeled shoes and black hair, who was one floor up and looked down on them. Her piercing gaze growing closer as she descended the elevator. Roman lowered his cane and took a step back from the two youths.
- Um… not… hurting them?
- Cinder! - Emerald was happy to see the woman, Cinder.
- I believe I gave clear instructions to neutralize any fugitives who want to leave the White Fang.
- I wanted to handle it... - Roman started to explain but Emerald interrupted.
- He wanted to escape to Vacuo! Mercury and I took care of the rat! - She explained as if she was very proud of the way she killed that person.
- I think it was more like a cat. - Mercury added causing Emerald to laugh a little.
- Like a puma?
- Yes, it is!
- Quiet! – Cinder instructed the two young ones to order. - Didn't I give you a straight order to, - Roman just smirked as the two young ones got scolded. – stay low and avoid any confrontations while we're in Vale?
- I… - Emerald felt a little embarrassed. - I thought…
- Don't think! – Cinder looked at her while Roman ran two fingers along the front of her neck. - Obey!
- Yes, Ma'am. It won't happen anymore.
- And you! – Cinder turned back to Roman, who was laughing nervously. - Why didn't you or your little girlfriend took care of it earlier?
- Neo got sick and fell to the bed, she will recover soon but... - Instead of continuing with words Roman pointed to the containers full of Dust behind him. The containers full of Dust behind Cinder and all the several tons of Dust with which filled the warehouse. - For my part, I've worked my *ss out to steal all the Dust in town! Sorry if a fugitive or two slips out of my grasp because of this!
- You are the role model for all armed robbers in ski masks. – Mercury spoke to him but Roman wasn't happy about it.
- Pay attention, kid, me and Neo keep this city in terror, there are policemen on every corner and Dust prices have skyrocketed! If that wasn't enough, we're sitting here, in an old warehouse full of Dust crystals, vials and dust, so much that we don't even know what to do with it! - He pulled himself out. - Speaking of which, if you could let me know the details of your plans maybe with my help you could reach your goal more easily! You'd be surprised how well I can see things through.
- Oh, Roman, - Cinder slowly approached Roman and caressed his face. - have a little faith. You will know enough at the right time and place. When you need it. - Cinder's yellow eyes started to glow which scared Roman almost to death.
- Fine. - He couldn't do anything else.
- Besides, you got enough Dust.
- Okay, so what now? - Roman hoped that Cinder would soon initiate him into the details of the plan.
- We're moving. Order the White Fang with the Dust out of this building and I'll send the coordinates to exactly where shortly.
- Coordinates? You mean, out of town?
- We have reached the second phase. I hope we get more use from your girlfriend than we did in the first one. - That was the last word before she left him with Emerald and Mercury.
Roman got so mad at this woman and the two little snots that he needed a cigar but he couldn't find his lighter anywhere. He heard a click and looked up to see Emerald's lighter in her hand and her tongue on it.
He would have preferred to beat this smug little street rat on the head with Melodic Cludgel, his cane, take her to the top of the tallest building, throw her off and if he could sense the smallest spark of life in her repeat the whole thing.
It was difficult to steal so much Dust from the city but it was fun. The only thing he regrets is that Neo couldn't join him.
Fortunately, Neo's almost fully recovered and she can help him much more in the second phase.
Whatever it is.
