Author's Note: Hey, everybody! As promised, this fanfic as well as the other fanfics in my Young Avengers series, have been updated with one additional chapter each.

First of all, I apologize for keeping everyone waiting. I know you were all eager for me to present these updates, and I had planned to upload them sooner, but there was a technical issue which set me back a couple of days, so I've been working tirelessly this past week in order to get this done before July 10. At last, I am done. Now, this was a rush job, so please forgive me if I make a few errors.

I hope all that's been settled. Enjoy this chapter. Any and all comments are welcome.

It started off as a regular day of school. Lessons were taught. Students were bonding. But most importantly to Star, the local slacker, Oskar, was on the hood of his car playing on keytar. Star couldn't help herself. She kept staring at him through the classroom window always thinking he's dreamy.

It wasn't until after the class had ended that America decided to snap her out of her hypnotic trance.

"Star. Earth to Star. Class is over. We gotta go." America said. That's when she noticed something different. "Star. You have something on your forehead."

"Huh?" Star asked. She reached her forehead and pulled it off her skin. It looked like a small, purple heart, but she widened her eyes at the very sight of it. "Oh, no."

"Is something wrong?" America asked.

"Oh, it's really wrong! America, I think I'm going through… Mewberty." Right as Star said that, more purple hearts spontaneously appeared on her face which she tried to hide behind her blonde hair like she feared them.

"Mewberty?" America asked. "Is that anything like puberty? Everyone has that. It's awkward, but it's part of growing…"

"No! It's nothing like that! I'm from Mewni! It's gonna get weird." Star said. "Listen, America! You're not a boy, so you should be safe! You must keep me away from boys!"

"I see." America said. "Now, when you said things are gonna get weird, do you mean normal Star weird, or destroy-the-school weird."

"Destroy the school." Star quickly answered.

"That's what I was afraid of." America said uneasy. "What's going to happen?"

"Well, supposedly, while I'm going through Mewberty, I lose all self-control and get obsessive about boys. The more flustered I am, the more I lose myself. Eventually, I change into a horrifying, boy-obsessed monster who tears the school apart gathering any boy I find!"

"That is scary." America said. "Do you know how to stop it?"

"No. I wasn't listening to that part when my mom explained it." Star admitted. "But you gotta get me home. You're the only one strong enough to stop me."

"All right then. Come with me, and we'll head home and call it a sick day." America said.

The girls walked out of the classroom intending to leave the school grounds. On the way though, Star's eyes catch a boy tying his shoe. Despite her best efforts or how hard she tells herself to stop, she can't help but keep her eyes on him, which causes more hearts to pop up on her face. She then stopped when she noticed a boy drinking from the water fountain. She got his attention by plugging the fountain with her finger. Thankfully, America grabbed her and pulled her away, but something happened as soon as she did. Purple, slimy webs shot out of her hands and stuck herself to the lockers.

"WHOA!" America gasped while Star screamed. "What's happening?"

"The Mewberty must be trying to fight you off!" Star shouted.

"Can you pull yourself off?" America asked.

Star tried. She pulled with all her strength, but all she did was pop the locker door open. She sudden tug caused her to slip and fall to the floor.

"That's a no." Star answered. "What's the plan?"

"Okay. Let me think." America said tapping her chin. "What about your Book of Spells? Think there could be an answer in there?"

"Maybe." Star said.

"Good. You stay here while I run home and get it." America said. She turned to leave, but Star stopped her.

"It's not at home. I gave it to Ferguson."

"Ferguson?" America asked shocked. "Why does he have it?"

"I lost a bet, okay?" Star admitted. She got up and stuffed herself in the locker before closing the door in on herself. "I'll stay here while you get the book back."

"Fine. But when I get back, we have got to have a talk about your gambling problem." America said leaving Star in the locker.

America searched around the school until she found Ferguson. He was in Spanish class, so she whispered to him through the window.

"Ferguson. Ferguson."

"Hola, America." Ferguson said in Spanish. "Que puedo hacer por ti?"

"I need Star's Book of Spells. It's an emergency." America answered.

"Lo siento. Solo puedo hablarte en Espanol."

"I'm not here for a Spanish lesson, Ferguson. Where's Star's book?"

"No, no, no. Se pronuncial 'libro'. Libro."

America sighed. "Where is Star's libro?"

"Muy bien. Mi dio el libro a Janna."

"You gave it to Janna?" America asked before sighing heavily. She left the window.

"De nada." Ferguson said.

Janna Ordania is known as the strange troublemaker in school. With an interest in the macabre, it's no wonder she's taken an interest in the Book of Spells, which she proudly showed her classmates in the halls. She kept the book in a burlap sack hiding it from the two girls at first.

"Hey. You guys wanna see a dead possum?" Janna asked.

"Uh…" the girls replied unsure.

"I'm just messing with ya." Janna laughed. "Seriously, check this out." She removed the bag revealing the book inside. The girls watched in amazement at what they were seeing. "We can do all kinds of witchy stuff with this thing."

"Can we use it to get my parents to stop fighting?" one girl asked.

"Totally."

"Not today, chicas!" America interrupted. Her sudden entrance spooked the other girls away. "All right, Janna. I need that book."

"Sure thing. But what do you got to trade?" Janna asked.

"Janna, this isn't a game." America said. "Star's in serous trouble, and that book could be the only way to save her."

"Whatever." Janna scoffed. "You'll need me soon enough, America Chavez, 'cause I got your apartment keys." She smirked holding up and dangling the keys beside her.

"How did you…" America asked before Janna quickly disappeared. "Problem for another day."

America opened the book and started sorting through the pages. There was only one issue: the contents were all out of order. Nothing organized inside. The table of contents was in the middle.

"This thing is impossible to look through." America gritted her teeth. "Isn't there a glossary or something?"

All of a sudden, the pages flipped wildly on their own. America watched surprised as the book was opened to a random page. That's when a voice escaped from it.

"Did somebody say Glossaryck?"

A tiny, blue man with a long beard and a robe appeared floating above the book. He had six fingers in each hand and a purple gemstone on his forehead.

"Because that's me. Sir Glossaryck of Terms. At your service, milady."

America watched confused. "Wait. So you're a spirit from inside the book?" she asked.

"I'm many things. But wait. Aren't you Ms. America?"

"Yes, but this isn't about me." America said. "Star's in trouble."

"Hahahaha. Star Butterfly." Glossaryck laughed. "What's wrong with her?"

"Mewberty." America informed. "She said it's going to seriously mess up the school, and I want to know how to handle it."

"Hmm… Normally, I only give advice to the magical princesses, but perhaps we can work something out." Glossaryck said. "Pudding."

"What?"

"I want pudding."

"You want pudding?"

"Corrrrrrrrect. High schools always have excellent pudding."

America sighed before rushing to the cafeteria.

America returned to the book a few minutes later with a cup of pudding and a spoon. "Okay, you weird, little imp. I got your pudding. Now, tell me how to save Star."

The book opened again revealing Glossaryck, who held his mouth wide open.

"What are you doing?" America asked.

"You have to feed me." Glossaryck said.

"I have to WHAT?!" America asked loudly.

"Well, what did you expect? Pudding doesn't eat itself."

"But why do I have to… Can't you just feed… AGH!" America shouted. She scooped up a spoonful of pudding and placed it in Glossaryck's mouth.

After finishing the first spoonful of pudding, Glossaryck finally spoke. "So you say that Star's going through Mewberty?"

"Si. Star told me the basics of how dangerous it is, and I want to know how to make it stop." America said.

"Oh, no. You can't stop it." Glossaryck said.

"That's not an option." America said. "If Star's going to turn into a monster, I may have to resort to using force to keep her from hurting anyone. But I won't have to if you just tell me what to do."

"It'll all be over soon." Glossaryck said. "Star should be back to normal by…" He revealed a watch on his wrist and set a timer on it. "3:57 PM. Or she won't."

"She won't what?"

"Be back to normal."

"That's it? That's all you can give me?" America asked. Glossaryck opened his mouth wide again. "It's empty. You ate it all."

"SCCCCCRAPE THE SIDES!" Glossaryck advised dramatically.

America growled before complying. She picked every bit of putting from the sides of the cup and fed it to Glossaryck. "You're really beginning to be a real pain in my culata. Now, talk."

"Look, kid, nature is like a runaway dump truck; hot, fast, and full of garbage."

"What?"

"Nature cannot be stopped. That is all."

"There has to be more you can tell me than that!" America said as Glossaryck laid back on the book's open pages.

"Of course, there is." Glossaryck laughed. "But then, you're out of pudding."

The book was about to close again, but this time, America placed her hand between the pages to stop them. She then forced it open to confront Glossaryck.

"Listen, you little hobo pixie. Star's not going to be able to control herself, and it's hard enough to deal with her on a regular basis. If she's going to turn into a monster, she's going to end up hurting people. Now, I'm not leaving until I'm satisfied!"

"Fine. Fine. I'll tell you everything you need to know." Glossaryck said. "Just one thing first."

"I am not getting you another cup." America growled.

"No, no. This is actually much simpler." Glossaryck. "I'm going to ask you a question. Simply give me the honest answer, and I'll tell you everything."

America sighed. "All right. What do you need to know?"

"Simple." Glossaryck said. "What really happened?"

America arced her eyebrow. "I'm sorry? What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean."

America shrugged. "I really don't."

"Oh. So you still don't remember, do you? Well, if you're ever ready to give me you're answer, you'll know where to find me." He close the book on himself again. This time, America didn't stop him in time.

"Wait! Glossaryck! What does that mean? What do you mean 'what really happened'?" America asked.

"NOOOOO!"

America turned to the distant sound of a boy screaming. With a groan, she turned and left the book behind. What she didn't know, however, was that Janna had returned to see the book again for herself.

The deeper into school America walked, the darker it got. It was like a purple jungle was starting to grow on the school's surface. As she passed, she saw several girls hiding in terror. She approached them cautiously.

"What happened?" she asked.

"That magic friend is yours is acting really weird." One of the girls answered. "She just flew out of nowhere, snatched my boyfriend, and took him to her lair."

"Lair?" America asked. "Oh, no. The locker."

America ran over to the locker only to find it pulled completely apart and covered with leftover purple hearts on the ground. Right to her right, she found a bunch of boys trapped behind purple web keeping them cooped up in open lockers. They were desperately asking for help.

That's when Star showed up. Not only did she have pixie-like wings on her back and six arms to hold another boy, but everything about her was entirely purple and her eyes were glowing hearts.

"Star?" America gasped watching Star trap her latest catch. "Star, get ahold of yourself. Please, before someone gets hurt." Star didn't listen. She just kept webbing her prey still in her trance. "I said, stop!"

America made her point by grasping onto Star's wrist. The grab caused Star to finally stop, but she stared intensely at America.

"Now, she's mad." whimpered the boy who was being trapped.

Star proceeded with grabbing America's wrist and throwing her far to the left. Thankfully, America's flight helped her stop before she hit the ground. She was just about to fly back to Star when the both of them noticed a feint music in the distance.

It was Oskar, still on the hood of his car and playing his keytar. Star looked at him as if he was her ultimate prey.

"Oskar…" she said quietly. She flew right towards the teen rebel ready to snatch him, but before she could have the chance, America tackled her. She wrapped herself around all of Star's arms keeping her pressed against the lockers.

"Star, don't make me fight you!" America warned.

Star kept struggling using her wings to fly trying to break out of America's grip. America flew as well keeping Star in place. The two of them were flying all around the school passing several of the students, including Janna, who was spoon-feeding Glossaryck.

"You're making things worse!" Glossaryck yelled.

"What's worse than letting your amiga trap every boy in school in a purple web with the possibility of her never coming back?!" America shouted as she wrestled with Star in midair.

"Ames, this may sound crazy," Janna said, "But I think you should let Star do it!"

"What?!" America shouted.

Suddenly, Star broke out. She then shot a purple web at Star trapping her before swinging her in a circle. She let go letting America crash to the lockers before flying over to Oskar's direction.

Star broke free from her web and flew to catch up to Star, but just then, Janna jumped in front of her.

"Whoa! Hold on, Ames!" Janna shouted.

"Janna, what are you doing?" America asked. "Star's going to hurt Oskar!"

"Just hear me out." Janna said. "Look, dogs shed their fur regularly. It's bothersome, but it's necessary."

"What does that have to do with anything?" America asked.

"It's a natural thing." Janna said. "And according to Glossaryck, this is a natural thing too. So maybe it's best to let it play out."

"She's right, kid." Glossaryck said. "I told you, nature cannot be stopped. "

America was at a loss of words. That's when she noticed Star. She was flying up to the cloudy sky carrying Oskar's car in her webs. America was about to go after them, but Janna and Glossaryck's words still lingered in her mind causing doubt. She took a breath before finally planting her feet down letting Star disappear with the car and Oskar.

"Is she going to be okay?" America asked with worry.

"We'll find out in just about… now." Glossaryck said just as his watch beeped. It was finally 3:57 PM.

After a moment of waiting in silence, America noticed a single heart that fell onto her nose. More hearts came raining down like snowflakes right before Oskar's car dropped in the middle of the school grounds with the boy himself at the hood.

"What's up?" Oskar asked.

Just then, a purple projectile dropped out of the sky like a meteor. It landed right back at the pile of hearts that were left at the original locker. America rushed over hoping to find her friend.

"Star!" America yelled.

Star Butterfly had returned. She emerged from the heart pile groaning looking just like her usual self. America smiled and hugged Star.

"Good to see you back, Star." America said before breaking the hug. "How are you feeling?"

"Better." Star replied.

"Good." America said before punching her on her shoulder. "That's for thrashing me around while you were some butterfly monster."

"Hehe." Star chuckled tending to her shoulder. "You're not really mad about that, are you?"

"I don't get mad. I get even."

Both girls chuckled at that only to notice the feint sound of wings flapping. Star looked at her back and moved her hair out of the way. She then smiled noticing a pair of tiny, purple wings sticking out of her back.

"Whoa! What are those?" America gasped.

"Ooooohh! That's the part I missed!" Star said. "When a royal Mewnan goes through Mewberty, they undergo a transformation that gives them Mewberty wings! That's what Mom tried to tell me!"

"So does that mean you can fly?" America asked.

"Let's test it out." Star said. She jumped up in the air… only to fall flat on her face. "Nope."

"Well, at least everything's okay now." America said. "Sure, most of the boys are probably going to need therapy, but at least no one was hurt." She turned back to Glossaryck who was eating the last of Janna's pudding. "Guess you were right about letting things happen."

"Yep." Glossaryck replied.

"On the bright side, at least I don't have to answer your little riddle." America said.

"Hmm? Who told you that?" Glossaryck asked. "I told you, tell me why you stopped, and I promise to tell you everything."

America was confused once more. "What? But I don't need to know anything, and I don't know how to answer your question."

"Oh, just ignore him." Star said. "Everything is all riddles with him. Let's just get on the bike and head back home."

"What about the spellbook?" America asked.

"I'll give it back to you girls in a bit. I promise." Janna said. "Just gotta ask Glossaryck one last thing."

"Should we?" America asked Star.

"Sure. Come on. I wanna feel these new wings on the motorcycle." Star said. She and America left leaving Janna alone with Glossaryck.

"Well, you know my payment." Glossaryck said before widening his open mouth. Janna gave him the last spoonful of pudding. "So what do you want to know?"

"Oh, nothing much." Janna said before ripping out one of the book's pages and held it up. "Just wondering if I can keep this page. I'm actually interested in this thing on it."

"The Staff of One?" Glossaryck asked before shrugging. "Meh. I don't see why not."
