Weeks of digging, drilling, loading and ordering the White Fang soldiers had completely exhausted Roman, and it was no small task to put a complete train carrying weapons and robots onto the newly repaired tracks, which also had to be carried by the White Fang's men to do it.
Some of the Dust he acquired was used for these works and the rest was used to operate the weapons and robots.
His task is to occupy the ruined city under the Glenn Mountains from the Grimm with the help of the White Fang, set up a base and reach the borders of Vale through the half-finished tunnels. Meanwhile, he loaded a transport train with enough weapons, Dust and Paladin robots to launch a surprise attack on Vale.
Bombs were placed in the empty wagons, which will carefully and slowly unhooked and holes were blown into the tunnel through which Grimm's troops entered, as support behind the attacking White Fang.
The first part of the plan, to occupy the ruined city was easily succeeded with their superior firepower and the leadership of Roman, they drove out the last beast without any problems but they were forced to station patrols in case their activities didn't go unnoticed and other than Grimms would also be attracted here.
The second part, the digging was much slower and boring.
- Perry, how long will it take us to get to the part we want? - Roman asked one of the engineers of the White Fang a shorter man with glasses but he was in the same uniform as the other soldiers. He was responsible for the calculations.
- Oh, - Perry tapped his Scroll nervously, checking his calculations. – about another week and we will be able to break through the wall with the train. We will be there by the deadline.
- You better be right or you can see for yourself. – Roman threatened, before Perry almost pissed himself. He was afraid of Roman and didn't want to upset him.
- We will do our best, Mr. Torchwick! - He nervously stood further away.
"Scaring him isn't even fun.", Roman thought. The next thing he checked were the weapons.
- How are we doing here? – This time Roman asked the big lieutenant White Fang, who was with him in the warehouse during his confused speech. He and Neo battled team LLMM.
- Weapons will be loaded and ready when the time comes. - He answered briefly.
- I don't recommend that even a small mistake slips in. – Roman tried to look strict with him too but the big man didn't accept the threat and didn't get scared.
- It won't be up to me. – He gave a calm answer again and Roman smiled a little.
"He's got some spirit.". Roman was sympathetic with him. Finally, he checked out a female soldier who was mounting and repainting the Paladins.
- I would like to hear that everything is going well, dear. – Roman questioned the woman who just looked up at him.
- I still have at least two dozen Paladins to set up and repaint but I'm doing it as fast as I can.
- Do as fast as we need! - Roman told him. - If you need help, ask! I'll send someone to help. – He started pressing his Scroll before three White Fang soldiers came to help the woman.
- Thank you, Mr. Torchwick. - The woman was grateful.
"Open your mouths if you need help," Roman rubbed his forehead. He had to deal with so many problems, think for others and constantly correct some small unevenness.
He was a bit tired and frustrated. He had to spend at least another week in this underground pile of ruins without Internet, sunlight and normal recreation. It wasn't easy but the ultimate goal was what hovered before his eyes. All the grueling Dust heisting, building here, and every fight with the Hunter students of the Vale will all be worth it when you get your ultimate reward.
- Um… Mr. Torchick? - Perry timidly walked over to Roman.
- Good or bad, Perry? – Roman just sighed tiredly, "Another thing to hold your hand to."

Roman came out of the wagon to check on his visitor and could hardly believe his eyes that he saw his petite, brown and pink-haired girlfriend, Neo.
- Neo? Perry, this is the best news I've heard in a long time. - Perry left them and continued his work, and Neo immediately ran to Roman for a hug who hugged him back. - What are you doing here? - Roman asked after the hug was over. - You should be in Beacon playing student with Cinder and her kids. – Neo just started sign language with her hands which Roman understood. - I see. How many are coming? – Neo signed again. - Just a team? Well, - Roman spread his arms confidently. – even if we were found, which I highly doubt, miles underground, we're still enough to take down a Hunter and a pack of kids. - Neo signed. - It would be good. May I show you the place? - Neo just nodded happily.
Roman and Neo walked hand in hand around the construction site and wandered around the underground ruined city for a bit. They walked up the stairs of a fairly intact building, which they reached the top of and had a decent view of the abandoned ghost town. The old silence of the crumbling buildings was only shaken by the work coming from the base. Several packs of Grimm could be seen a few kilometers away but any that ventured too close were shot down on the spot.
- I know, it's not the most romantic view but it doesn't get any better than this. – Roman sat down on the edge of the roof of the building, signaling Neo to sit next to him. She did so anyway and then Roman put his right arm around her and she snuggled into him. - What's going on at the academy? - Neo just rolled her multicolored eyes and signaled. - My condolences. If it helps, I don't have very great time here. At least you have Internet, you can see the sun and eat normal food. Only canned goods should be stored here.
Neo just put one of her gloved hands on Roman's tired and tense face and began to caress him gently, which made the man soften and heave a sigh of relief.
- It's so good that you're here now. - Roman also took Neo's small hand, raised it to his mouth and kissed it. - These stupid animals… I have to hold their hands for everything and... - Neo just put her index finger on Roman's lips to shut him up, while he just looked at the girl curiously. Neo took off Roman's hat, put it aside, put her arms around the back of his head, pulled him close and kissed him. Roman kissed her back and hugged her. - You just wanted to shut me up, didn't you? - Roman asked as he looked into Neo's beautiful, deep brown and pink eyes. Neo just shrugged, got out of Roman's embrace, lifted his hat with Hush, stood up and tiptoed towards the other end of the roof.
- Hey, - Roman Melodic stood up with the help of Melodic Cludgel and went after the girl. – I want my hat back! - Roman's hat was just hanging on Hush's tip as Neo waved it back and forth. - You know the rule, I have the hat because I'm the boss! - Neo just raised one eyebrow and put Roman's hat on her head, then posed for him like that. - We both know it's suit better on me. - Roman just put his hands on his hips as he leaned on Melodic Cludgel. - Now give it back.
Instead of giving the hat back, Neo just jumped off the building Roman looked after her and saw Neo open Hush making her to slowly floated down in the air since Neo was so small and light.
- This girl… - Roman just shook his head, hooked Melodic Cludgel into the edge of the roof and jumped down after Neo.
The wire that was in Melodic Cludgel was long enough for Roman to safely lower himself to the ground and pull the wire back but Neo also earned the ground around this time with Roman's hat on her head and headed for a cart of the train while Roman was chasing her.
Neo crawled under a group of White Fang soldiers carrying some sort of large and heavy bomb. She went into one of the wagons where she found a planted bomb. Suddenly, somebody grabbed her from behind and lifted her up then whispered in his ear.
- If you act like a sassy, evil little b*tch, don't be surprised if I want to make out with you. – It was Roman, he bit one of her ears and Neo felt a pleasant tingling sensation then as the hat was removed from her head. - Did you miss daddy? – Roman spoke to his hat and Neo just giggled silently and then signed. - I got it from you, of course I treasure it. - Roman put his hand under Neo's chin to look up at him. - Just like you. – Now he kissed Neo, by the time it was over, Roman asked the first question that came to mind. - Do you want to f*ck on a bomb? – Neo raised her head at that, looked behind her, then back at Roman, smiled and already unbuttoned her tailcoat.
Roman started to unbutton his jacket, he didn't even remember his last time when he did it with Neo, it wasn't long before Cinder and her gang hired them which was several months ago. He was glad to finally let out a lot of tension. Neo took off her tailcoat and gloves, her corset was on which made her shoulders bare as well as her arms and her bosoms, which were pretty big for her size, they were a pleasant sight for Roman, she also took off her high-heeled boots and laid bare feet on the bomb and posed for the man.
- I'll take that as a yes. – Roman also started to take off his jacket, stroked Neo's shoulder but before anything could happen...
- Hey, boss! – Perry called him from outside, which killed both Neo and Roman's mood. - You should see this! - Roman clenched his fists angrily but Neo just pulled his face towards her, smiled seductively and shook her head saying "Don't go."
- Give me a moment and I'm all yours. - Roman angrily buttoned his jacket back, grabbed Melodic Cludgel and lit a cigar to calm him down. - A good thing or a bad thing, Perry?! – He asked irritated, as he was just about to make love to his girlfriend. - I hope it's important, because you just interrupted something very serious!
- Um... - Perry now regretted it very much and was afraid of what Roman would do to him if he bothered him with something stupid. - A teenage girl we caught.
Roman finally looked out of the wagon and saw that girl, Little Red being caught by his men.
- That's bad. - He took another smoke from his cigar and threw it away. The two soldiers who caught Red threw her in front of Roman. - Well, you're much more manageable without the oversized cascade. – Ruby stared at Roman then angrily got up to attack him but Roman just dodged and hit her with Melodic Cludgel, causing her to fall and laugh at her.
- You know what, Perry, this is almost as good as the thing you interrupted. - He laughed again. - But seriously, - He started towards her, knelt down to look into Ruby's silver eyes and pointed Melodic Cludgel at her. – how did you find this place, Little Red? – Ruby didn't answer, she just grunted and used her Semblance to disappear. Roman raised his head in surprise and looked behind him, seeing that she was trying to run away.
- Wow! - Roman didn't let her leave, he turned Melodic Cludgel and shot out its grip with which he then caught Ruby's hood, pulled on it and she already fell backwards. - I see you have a few tricks in your sleeve, - He started to pull back. - but we have this in common! - He pulled Ruby back to him. - Let's make something clear, you're not going anywhere from here. – Finally, he pulled back the head of the grip and turned it again. An explosion was heard in the distance.
- Well, what now?! - He looked at the soldiers irritated. - Perry, if you and the guys could handle it, - He shook his hands in front of them. - I'm in the middle of something. - The soldiers had already left when a bigger explosion shook the underground place. – WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?! – Roman was starting to lose his temper when Neo also came out of the wagon, this time dressed and irritated, to see what Roman was fussing about. - As you can see, an old acquaintance! – Roman pointed Ruby with his cane and Neo angrily put her hand on her hip and leaned Hush on her shoulder.
Another, bigger explosion could be seen, this time getting closer and closer to them and a group of White Fang soldiers fled. Roman took a close look at who they were running from and it were the same girls he fought under the freeway, the rest of team RWBY. Roman growled angrily but before he could do anything, Ruby jumped on his shoulder, only to be thrown off him who landed on the ground and ran away.
Neo turned on Hush' blade to follow her but Roman grabbed her arm to stop her.
- She's mine! - He aimed Melodic Cludgel, its target cross raised and fired a powerful fire Dust bomb that missed Ruby's head by mere inches and slammed into the ground. The White Fang soldiers also opened fire but they weren't succeeded, Ruby was too far away and fast, she just dodged the bullets.
Roman angrily squeezed and twisted Melodic Cludgel and saw Neo show something with a sly grin.
- Not now, Neo! - He then turned to Perry. - Start the engine and call the others!
- But it's still too early! – At Perry's protest Roman nailed Melodic Cludgel hard and pressed him against the wall of the wagon.
- Do as I say or it will be too late for you! – He finally let him, after which he gasped for air, suffocating.
He and Neo boarded the train, along with a bunch of White Fang soldiers. Roman headed for the driver's cab to start the train and turned on the loudspeaker.
- Everyone in place! We are going! – The train started a little slowly at first but over time it sped up.
- What are you doing?! – The big lieutenant White Fang demanded an answer. - It's too early!
- They found us! - Roman shot back. - Either now or now! If we wait any longer they will come back with an army! - Neo also seemed worried. - At least we'll make them believe that they won. Now, - Roman took out his stern face again. – go to your places and stop those kids from doing more damage.
Neo obeyed immediately but the man just looked at Roman in silence for a while longer, who didn't tolerate contradiction.
- Fine, but you will still be responsible for that. - He took his two-handed chainsaw, turned and left the driver's cab.
Neo and White Fang lieutenant began to engage the train's defenses.
- They're on the... - The broadcast was suddenly interrupted but it was clear that the enemy had boarded the train.
- To Paladin, everyone! – The lieutenant ordered his men over the radio, then looked towards Neo. - Activate the first bomb. – Neo pressed a button, and the man just switched off the rearmost wagon. - Now! – He said before Neo pressed the detonator and the detached wagon exploded.
So he went on, Neo activated and detonated the bombs, before the lieutenant detached her and told her when to detonate. The explosions blew holes in the ceiling that led to the surface and then the Grimm flooded in and followed the train.
- They're breaking through! Reinforcement... - The broadcast was interrupted again.
- Now seriously, - The lieutenant just shook his head and spoke into the radio. – there are many more of you, bigger and stronger than them! This is what happens when you don't exercise enough! Paladins, ready for battle! - He turned off the radio and looked at Neo. - I think it is time for us to join the fight. The lieutenant raised his chainsaw while Neo raised Hush.
Neo, as angry as she was that her romantic time with Roman had been interrupted, she was even more excited to finally get to put up a good fight. The lieutenant stopped in one of the wagons but Neo kept on.
- It would be smarter for us to stay together. - He spoke to the short girl but Neo just gave him an indifferent look and left him. - Then don't hit your ankles in those stilettos.
Neo didn't even hear the officer's words, she just went to the next wagon, she wanted to stop the intruders as soon as possible.
She found them. She met them in the Academy, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long. She knew each of their abilities, weapons and of course their fighting style. Neo confidently made her way to the three girls, indicating that she wouldn't let them pass here.
- Go ahead. - Yang stepped forward. - I'll take care of her.
Blake and Weiss started to run towards her but Yang shot a fireball at her which she had to block with Hush as the other two girls ran past her. Neo didn't chase them, instead she was confronting Yang. She didn't mind, since Yang was the biggest and strongest in the RWBY team, so she was happy to teach her how to fight if she foolishly underestimated her and dared to stand against her alone.
Yang was almost a whole foot taller and much more built and harder bound than Neo but she looked forward to the fight with confidence, even excitement and wasn't at all intimidated as Yang towered over her.
The two girls just glared at each other in silence, Yang focused angrily on Neo but Neo just smiled confidently, indicating that she failed to scare her.
Yang struck first but Neo dodged forward in a flash and landed a blow with Hush, causing Yang to stagger back but let out an angry snort and was ready to continue the fight. Neo pinned Hush on her for a while before placing it on her shoulder as she opened it and waited for her opponent to attack her.
She didn't have to wait long as Yang charged at the younger girl with all her strength and anger but she dodged her blows without any difficulty. After getting bored, she folded Hush and used it to defend against punches and kicks but eventually saw an orbital weakness in Yang's style and delivered a quick, hard and accurate kick to the stomach that sent the larger girl to the ground.
She tried to knock her down with another kick but Yang dodged it, jumped up and attacked Neo again but caught her arm and kicked her in the face, making her daze a bit, then let go of her arm and delivered a second kick to the stomach, causing her to fall to the ground again. Just like a ghost, she got behind her.
Yang only had a second to react when she saw Neo open Hush and launch another attack at her but it was enough for her to fire two shots with Ember Celica but they wer unable to break through Hush and her own projectile her explosion made her stagger a bit, which Neo didn't hesitate to take advantage of.
Yang didn't want to hand over the dominance to Neo, so she threw a desperate punch at her but Neo pushed her arm aside with Hush and then smacked Yang with it. Yang didn't give up, she opened fire again but Neo blocked them again with Hush and pushed her open parasol into Yang's face.
Yang grew angrier and fired a powerful projectile at the smaller girl but she wheeled backwards to avoid her, then sat down on a box, crossed her legs, propped Hush open on her shoulder and waited for her opponent to attack.
Yang approached Neo more slowly and cautiously this time, sensing that it might not be very wise to underestimate her but she was still annoyed by Neo's sly little grin, so she attacked again, only to be parried by Neo with Hush again, somersaulting backwards, then standing on her hand but she held Hush with only one hand, while with the other she landed spinning, then she attacked Yang with one, two and three somersaults, who was forced to retreat but during the fourth Neo kicked her in the stomach for the third time.
Yang jumped back and shot another projectile at Neo, who only showed his back to block the projectile, again with Hush but Yang pounced on her again and attacked more and more aggressively but Neo also dodged and blocked these attacks with playful ease. Yang fired another but Neo knocked her arm up, sending the projectile hurtling toward the ceiling.
Neo did another kick but Yang wouldn't let her kick her in the stomach a fourth time so she caught her leg and tried to slam her against the wall and flipped her twice in the air and threw her away but to no avail since Neo opened Hush which dampened the momentum quite a bit, after being thrown by Yang, so she landed on her feet with a somersault and attacked again.
She dodged another blow and grabbed Yang's arm and pulled herself onto her shoulder, which her opponent didn't want to let go, so she tried to catch her but Neo expected just that because she just grabbed her other hand to pull herself up and with one hand on Yang's head she stood balanced, spinning who was helpless and dizzy. After stopping, she tried to take Neo off her head but the smaller girl pushed herself off the bigger one's head and placed one leg on her shoulder, then like a rubber doll, she was so flexible, she lowered herself to the ground, wrapped her legs around Yang's arms and took such a momentum she managed to throw to the ceiling and hit the ground painfully.
Neo just proudly turned to the girl lying on the floor, who was no longer moving, clearly passed out.
She approached with slow, measured steps as she drew the blade from Hush to execute her opponent. She couldn't survive, since she knows too much of their plan, she knew the hiding place and she didn't like her very much either. It wasn't too difficult for Neo to kill her. She and Roman had killed before, so she didn't need much convincing to do it.
Unfortunately, before she could deliver the final blow, a stranger appeared and attacked her. All she saw was a red and black blur that attacked her with a red blade and she barely had time to defend herself.
Neo jumped back to get a better look at her new opponent. It was a woman with long raven black hair, a distorted Grimm helmet covering her face but wearing a red and black jacket, black battle skirt, black high heeled boots and thigh-high stockings. A sword hung at his side with enough Dust embedded in its scabbard for an army and she pulled out her long, red-bladed katana which she pointed straight at Neo.
Neo didn't know this stranger but she felt that she was very strong and surely, she couldn't defeat her, so using her Semblance, she immediately became invisible and pulled the strip away.
During this time, the White Fang lieutenant also prepared for the upcoming confrontation, switched on his chainsaw, which he dragged menacingly along the ground. He took a close look at the two girls heading his way but as soon as he saw Weiss, he burst into unbridled anger.
- You go ahead! - Weiss said to Blake.
- Got it! - Blake agreed.
The Schnee family left a deep impression on the lieutenant and he felt anger and joy at the sight of Weiss at the same time. He started to laugh evilly and strike at Weiss but Blake blocked it instead and Weiss charged after it, knocking the chainsaw aside but Weiss landed with a backflip. The lieutenant attacked but Weiss parried the massive chainsaw with Myrtenaster, her thin dueling sword and took the initiative.
She threw more and more blows at the lieutenant, who was forced to defend himself but after a precise and lightning-fast strike, he fell to the ground. Thinking that her teammate could handle the lieutenant, Blake continued on alone.
The lieutenant didn't give up and stood up again.
- Finally, - He laughed. – I can kill a Schnee. – He raised his chainsaw again but Weiss did the same to Myrtenaster and her face said, "It won't be easy for you."
The lieutenant charged but Weiss only fired one round with Myrtenaster and as the officer slashed down with his chainsaw, a light blue force field appeared, deflecting his blow and giving Weiss a chance to attack, knocking the lieutenant back.
The officer didn't give up and aimed another blow at the Schnee girl but she put her sword in a defensive position, inches from her face but successfully deflected the chainsaw and delivered another blow to the man's chest who staggered back again.
The girl somersaulted and hit the man's mask with her sword and landed gracefully like a ballerina. The man attacked again, Weiss dodged it again in a gypsy wheel throw but the razor-sharp blades still only passed inches in front of her stomach. As soon as she had the chance, she took several small blows to the man's face which were only protected by his mask. A kick was already much more powerful and sent the man to the ground.
The lieutenant became more and more angry, he attacked wildly and quickly with his chainsaw which Weiss dodged quickly and gracefully and then blocked the last blow directly with Myrtenaster but only just because if she stopped the chainsaw, the man's physical strength was too much for her and she fell to her knees and was kicked by her opponent but this didn't deter Weiss.
Leaping into the air, straight up to the ceiling, and gaining enough momentum from there, she delivered a quick and accurate strike at the man but he dodged in time, Weiss somersaulted to the ground and attacked the lieutenant again. The lieutenant was forced to defend himself again but Weiss's strikes were so fast that he couldn't do anything against her and sent him to the floor with a kick.
The man was still holding on and got back to his feet, ready for another attack. Weiss held Myrtenaster in front of her and summoned a white rune around him but as quickly as she spun, she disappeared as quickly as she accelerated herself, charging at the man, who, after seeing how much faster the girl had become, took a defensive position and concentrated at her with all his nerves. focused.
He was distracted by faint noises, looked around and saw that he was surrounded by a dozen runes. Expecting him to shoot something from them, he continued to defend himself but Weiss' body was covered in white light and appeared from the opposite rune, she slipped past him, into the rune behind him, then bounced back to another one, from there to the one above, he took one strong blow to his opponent, then another, then another in the blink of an eye and so on and so forth, taking at least a dozen blows to the lieutenant.
- Come here, princess! – Weiss was careless and when she was about to deliver the final blow, her opponent stood up again, caught her face and slammed her to the ground. He threw her in the air and tried to cut it straight in half with her chainsaw.
Weiss parried in time with Myrtenaster but her aura turned off and the man sent her to the floor with a kick and didn't get up.
Roman went back to check on the progress of the fight, only to find himself face to face with Blake. Blake glared at the man she had bumped into for the second time. This time she was stronger and more prepared than in the harbor.
- Hello, Kitty-Cat, - Roman twirled Melodic Cludgel on his finger. - did you miss me? – Finally, he supported it on his shoulder and put his hand on his hip. - We shouldn't meet each other so much, people will talk and my girlfriend will be jealous.
Blake didn't waste words and charged directly at the man but with a tired sigh, Roman struck the girl, who's using her Semblance, created a clone of herself and spawned right behind Roman. The clone wasn't the usual shadow but a firebomb and as soon as Roman hit it, it exploded, sending him into the air.
Blake didn't let it at that, she jumped into the air and delivered three blows to her opponent, causing him to fall to the ground painfully. Roman scrambled to his feet and opened fire with Melodic Cludgel but this time Blake left a rock clone behind her, which, while deflecting Roman's shot crushed it.
Blake charged again, jumping into the air but Roman dodged it more carefully but this time he slammed into a wind clone, before Blake appeared on the ground and attacked Roman like that. Roman reacted in time and an amazing duel ensued between them, Melodic Cludgel and Gumbo Shroud sparking each encounter, eventually Roman was able to land a blow but Blake again dodged it with a clone. What's more, with an ice clone frozen in by Melodic Cludgel.
Seeing that his opponent couldn't move, Blake launched an energy blast at him that shattered the ice clone but also slammed Roman into the wall and sent him to the floor. Melodic Cludgel fell out of his hands and he tried to get up in a daze but Blake pressed her foot hard on his chest to keep him on the ground and nailed Gumbo Shroud straight to his throat.
- Why are we fighting? - Roman didn't look scared or nervous. He just laughed and put his hands up in surrender. - You're fighting against your own kind. We should be on the same page, you know that. - Blake just pushed the tip of Gumbo Shroud closer to Roman's throat. - I see you're still pointy. So, - Roman just smiled. - what will happen now? Do you really think you can make people forget who you really are with a little bow? - His voice took on a sterner tone. - Or what did you do?
Suddenly the door opened and Weiss fell through it, unconscious and beaten. She was followed by White Fang lieutenant, his chainsaw still buzzing in his hand, heading straight for the Schnee girl.
- What are you doing now, Blake? – Roman asked, before Blake put away her weapon, she kicked Roman in the face, who fainted and rushed to her teammate's aid.
The lieutenant prepared to finish off both girls but as soon as Blake touched Weiss, she used her Semblance and they fled, leaving a shadow clone behind.
There wasn't much time to think, the girls ran away and the end of the tunnel was approaching dangerously fast. The lieutenant couldn't leave Roman behind, he picked him up on his shoulder and immediately headed for the rear wagons but it was too late, as a huge explosion signaled that they had reached the terminus and broken through the wall.
The officer could still hear the sirens of the city but he couldn't stay on his feet for long and passed out.
