Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, Cynder got armored up to break through Bruce Banner's demonic energy barrier with the funky smelling Demonchylde suit. Literally, that's the one thing everybody can agree on is that that suit smells. Along the way, Nico Minoru revealed that, hopefully, the Hunter, being the spirit of Lilith's child, can pull her darkness out of Spyro and Scarlet Witch. Cynder added that idea to the idea that her own exposure to Malefor's darkness might have the same effect, and ultimately bring both of them back to the light. With a plan in mind, Cynder leapt through the Limbo portal back into Banner's facility, but unknown to her, the Hunter's dog Charlie pounced in after her, attracted by the suit's smell no doubt. So, will this end well? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens up inside Bruce Banner's facility, only not focusing on Cynder, but rather on Charlie, who's barking almost disturbs a demon. But since Charlie herself is a literal hellhound, they ignore it, but Cynder, hiding in the shadows, notices the dog is here)

Cynder: Charlie? Why are you here?! Didn't the Hunter tell you anything about jumping through strange portals? And furthermore, how'd you get... (Think's it out) Right, demon dog, demonic energy. Should have seen that one coming. (Seeing Charlie seems to know where she's going) Well then, lead the way.

(With that, Cynder and Charlie start sneaking through the facility. Things almost go wrong when Cynder nearly bumps into a demon, but thankfully the Demonchylde suit prevents her from being detected.)

Cynder: Good news, the suit's working perfectly. They can't see us.

(Not wanting to waste a second, Cynder continues following Charlie's lead, and soon ends up standing in a room full of Barghests, who seem to be guarding some strange machine. Seeing her fellow canines in distress, Charlies whimpers, but Cynder calms her)

Cynder: Looks like we're on the same page. That must be the thing generating this energy barrier. (To Charlie) I'm going to turn that thing off. I need you to be incredibly quiet. Can you do that, Charlie?

(Charlie doesn't make a sound, which Cynder takes as good news, so she starts sneaking up to the device. But in the background, Charlie keeps looking on at the Barghests, and notices that one of them has food, so she tries to befriend it in the hopes of getting some. Strangely though, it's not Charlie who ends up alerting the guards to their presence, it's Cynder, who jumps back in surprise at seeing what looks like an automaton on the device activate, summoning the guard demons)

Cynder: Well, can't blame this one on the dog. Charlie, looks like we're up!

(With that, Charlie bursts into flames and the battle is on. Even if it's Cynder doing most of the damage on her own, she and Charlie have the guards down and the barrier disabled in record time, just long enough for Magik to leap through. But they're not the only ones, as Fallen Spyro and Fallen Scarlet Witch arrive as well)

Fallen Spyro: Well, well, well, looks like we have intruders in our den.

Fallen Scarlet Witch: Then let us dispose of them.

(Realizing there's no time for talk, Cynder and Magik start to fight their former friends and their demonic reinforcements. But after a while, it's clear Scarlet Witch and Spyro are fighting back against the dark magic controlling them, as the two are bested and on the ground)

Magik: Wanda, Spyro, we don't want to hurt you!

Fallen Scarlet Witch: Hurt us? Hurt us?! You will never hurt us again!

(With that, Fallen Scarlet Witch and Fallen Spyro take to the air just as Magik opens up another Limbo Portal)

Fallen Spyro: Running away again, are we? Of course you are.

Fallen Scarlet Witch: After all, that's what you've always been best at, Illyana.

Magik: None of us are giving up on you two! None of us have!

Cynder: And none of us ever will!

Fallen Scarlet Witch: Save your lies for Agatha...

Fallen Spyro: WHEN YOU SEE HER IN HELL!

(Only now do we see what Magik is really doing, as she opens another Limbo portal behind the two of them. Getting the hint, Cynder charges through one Limbo Portal and out the other, grabbing both Fallen Spyro and Fallen Scarlet Witch by the neck as lands, bringing both to the ground before beginning to recite a spell of some kind)

Cynder: (In a voice dually hers and the Hunter's) Ego sum Tenebris. Et veniunt in domun suam iubet dominus...

(While Cynder continues the incantation, Fallen Scarlet Witch and Fallen Spyro's eyes start to glow, while Caretaker comes over the comms after the passage started)

Caretaker: That passage? Are you out of your minds?! They can't be saved!

(But Cynder's not listening, instead continuing the incantation, as another crack appears in The Hunter's Collar)

Cynder: Ego sum Tenebris. Domun domini pracaepta yoir!

Fallen Scarlet Witch: (Under her breath) Chthon...

(And with that, the room erupts in light and screams of pain from both Fallen Scarlet Witch and Fallen Spyro. Cynder is force off of them as the two start levitating off the ground, surrounded in golden light that starts wrecking everything in sight)

Caretaker: DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE JUST DONE?!

Cynder: Hopefully, what you thought was impossible.

(But in that moment, just as the light hits it's apex, the scene cuts out.)

And that looks like the best possible place to end for now. A nice big cliffhanger. That spell must've been the one Nico Minoru found to draw the darkness out of Fallen Scarlet Witch and Fallen Spyro. But... did it work? You'll have to tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
