Halo, it's time for the newes chapter. Enjoy the reading.

The sun was already half way down and the city of Mistral was bathed in a shadowy orange light but the members of the RRNJL team and Oscar were still training under Ozpin's guidance.

Ruby and Oscar were practicing hand-to-hand combat but Lance was teaching Jaune for sword-swinging and shield using.

- Nice! - Lance and Jaune's swords sparkled as they met. - Pyrrha taught you well! - He attacked from right, left and right but Jaune parried them all. - Great! - Lance stopped, raised his sword defensively. - You attack now. - Jaune grabbed Crocea Mors, his sword and swung at Lance. The Red Knight parried the blows but didn't back down and parried all of Jaune's blows.

- So, - Jaune stopped panting but smiling. – how is it?

- You're getting better. - Lance also lowered his sword and raised his shield. - Now comes the shield. Raise yours! - Jaune did. – Remember, the shield is like an extension of your arm, it's part of you and only protects as much as you are strong.

- I get it. - Jaune nodded as Lance hit his shield with his own.

- You first. – Lance held the shield in front of him and waited for Jaune's attack.

Jaune mustered all his strength and charged at Lance with full force and momentum with his shield and tried to push him away but Lance didn't move. Jaune didn't give up, clenched his teeth, blew hard and gave it another boost, forcing Lance to take a few steps back.

- Yes! Your strength has also improved!

- Huh… - Jaune sat down on the floor panting exhaustedly. - Pyrrha taught me differently… but you're good too.

- I know I'm not Pyrrha, - Lance offered Jaune a hand to help him up and he accepted. – but our fighting style is similar and I would be happy to teach you.

- I know, only Pyrrha was more focused on speed and agility. - Jaune saw through Lance's style and remembered Pyrrha. - You're more into brute force and endurance.

- Yeah, - Lance rolled his eyes. – I have always been bigger than others and it's advisable to take advantage of this.

- But I find it strange how much you focus primarily on defense. - That was true, Lance always took a defensive position at the beginning of the fights and never struck first.

- Physical dominance can be used in several ways. I often encountered opponents who were faster than me, whom I had to recognize, see their movements and strike at the right time.

- In short, - Ren, who was sitting on a bench meditating, listened to what Lance was teaching Jaune. - defense is the best offense.

- Exactly!

- Then, - Jaune summed up what he heard. – you defend until you find a mistake in the opponent's movement and if he makes a mistake, then you strike?

- Yes.

- Sounds a bit dangerous. - Jaune just shook his head.

- It is! - Lance admitted. – This is primarily effective against two opponents top and you must have a very strong defense and physique if you want to maintain this for a long time. I don't even recommend it to you.

- Clearly, you are protective. – Jaune clearly noticed this in Lance, it was something they had in common.

- Hm, - Lance smiled at that. - let's go see how Ruby and Oscar are doing.

- Oz was right about Oscar anyway, he really learns fast.

They got there just as Ruby managed to knock out Oscar, who was sprawled on the ground in pain.

- Yes! – Ruby excitedly jumped in the intoxication of victory. - I did it! – Belatedly but a little worried, she looked towards the boy on the ground.

- Why didn't you say?! - He looked up angrily.

- Congratulations, Ruby! - Lance started clapping slowly and sarcastically. - You beat a 12 years old child who has no combat experience. – He stood towards Oscar and helped him up.

- Hey, - Oscar yanked his arm away from Lance's. - I'm 14 and I've fought… smaller Grimms before.

- Sorry. – Lance released him and stepped back to the others.

Suddenly, Oscar's eyes flashed yellow, which only meant that Ozpin had taken over.

- Not bad, Ms. Rose. - Now Ozpin spoke. - But Mr. Monroe is right, Oscar doesn't have as many years of training behind him as you do. Or as me. A green light flashed around him, which meant that he had now taken control of his body and was preparing for another clash.

- Um... - Ruby immediately regretted treating Oscar so roughly during the previous fight. – maybe… we could take a break.

Ozpin didn't give a break and charged towards Ruby with confidence and another fight unfolded between the two of them. Ruby started to nervously defend herself and dodged the first few blows, but the fourth one hit her in the face, causing her to stagger back, then she ran towards Ozpin, jumped up and kicked her in the face, causing Ruby to spin sideways and fall to the ground. She angrily hit the ground and jumped up in the air to strike down at Ozpin but he bent down in time and taking advantage of his opponent's inattention, headbutted her, causing her to fall to the ground for good.

- Ouch. - They were all a bit horrified at the last attack.

- The next time you try to defend yourself like this, remember the proper footwork. - Ozpin explained. - And besides, be more careful when you leave any important part of you unprotected.

- Got it. - Ruby moaned in pain but a green light appeared around Oscar again and he collapsed exhaustedly, which meant that Oscar was in control again. - Hey, - Ruby quickly jumped up to rush to his aid. - are you okay?!

- This is very… - He panted. - exhausting.

- Your body isn't yet used to this level of training. - Ren stated while still meditating. - Not to mention that you can't even properly generate your own protective aura yet. It requires a lot of concentration in the beginning but with time it becomes almost natural. Boosts your attacks and automatically heals your injuries. You can then start focusing on your Semblance, whatever it is.

- Semblance? - Oscar didn't quite understand.

- You know, - Nora helped him understand. – like your own super power! Everyone has it, you just have to find out what it is and master it! Ruby can move superfast, I'm amplified by electricity, Ren can hide his and other people's feelings from the Grimm, Lance turns into a berserker and Jaune... - She got a little stuck here, as it is known that Jaune isn't yet capable of anything that made him feel ashamed.

- I… - Jaune turned away in frustration from the others who had long since discovered their own Semblance, but he still had nothing to show for it. - I can't…

- Jaune is just like you! – Ruby took Oscar's hand and pulled him to Jaune. - He hasn't found his Semblance but we're sure he will in time. - He trusted in both boys. - And you will too. We just have to help each other to become stronger.

- There's no shame in that. - Lance put his hand on Jaune's shoulder as well. - Some are latecomers.

- According to a popular theory, - Ren began. – that the warrior's Semblance reflects who you are. Your personality determines your Semblance but there are other ways as well. - He looked worriedly at Lance, who had always hated his own Semblance. - But of course, sometimes it doesn't make any sense.

- Sometimes it's harder to understand when you already know. – Nora joined. – Ren's Semblance kicked in from intense stress.

- Mine was in training. - Ruby added.

- And you? - Oscar asked Nora.

- Oh, lightning struck me and I didn't die! - Nora waved as if it was so natural. - It was a crazy Thursday.

- And yours? – Oscar now looked at Lance, who turned slightly away from the others.

- I… - Lance, ever since the Semblances were brought up, he looked quite gloomy. - would rather not talk about it.

- Why… - Before Oscar could finish, Ruby just grabbed his shoulder and shook her head, indicating that Lance's Semblance was a sensitive topic.

- Let it be enough that as a child, I was quite bad, I got angry because of something stupid and... - He buried his face in his hands because of the terrible memory. - it was a great luck that the teacher intervened in time and no one died.

- Exactly, - Oscar didn't really understand. – what is your Semblance?

- I become a super strong berserker and I can't be defeated but in return I lose my sanity, attack everything and don't distinguish between friend and foe.

- Oh. - Oscar and everyone understood why Lance didn't like to talk about his Semblance.

- I hope that theory isn't true. - He remembered what Ren said earlier.

- But I don't understand. - Jaune didn't envy Lance but he shook his head in frustration that he hadn't figured out his own Semblance yet. - What about me? I train and meditate and all but… - Before he could finish, Ozpin took control of Oscar again.

- Don't worry Mr. Arc, your journey is far from over. - He looked over the students. - Neither do yours. Finding out what your Semblance isn't the end. Even after that, it can still grow and develop, provided you are willing to put the time and effort into developing it and then who knows what might happen.

- Then let's continue training! – Ruby was excited and prepared for another ride.

The injured and beaten bandits who tried to rob Yang and Mike are now being escorted to their leader, Raven. Even though they were armed with weapons, they weren't sure if they would be able to stop them.

This wasn't how Mike and Yang imagined a bandit camp, the walls were made of wood, like a fortress and the people here lived in tents but not only rascals and warriors lived here. They spotted some children and families who are in the camp but not against their will.

Of course, there were more warriors who watched the two newcomers with piercing eyes, who thus left their companions in place. Finally, they stopped in front of the largest tent, which was clearly Raven's and she came out.

Raven Branwen came out in person, she had long raven black hair, a pair of black high heeled boots, long black knee socks, a black battle skirt, a black and dark red blouse, black mittens, wearing dark red armor wrist guards. She covered her face with a terrifying helmet resembling a Grimm skull. At her side he carried a katana sword in a special and special scabbard.

- So, - Mike said awkwardly. - is she your mommy?

- Mother. - Yang just contemptuously placed her mechanical hand on her hip.

- Yang. - Raven took off the Grimm's helmet, revealing her red eyes and placed the helmet on a box. - So, - She continued loudly for everyone to hear. – after so many years, you finally decided to visit me?! - Yang was still shaking but Raven looked at Mike for a moment. - Who is he?

- My friend! - They could feel that Yang resents her mother. - And you know very well that I was looking for you! I've been looking you for years!

- And you found me. - Raven was rather proud. – Your patience, determination and persistence made you strong enough to make your dream come true. Nice job Yang. - She smiled mockingly and leaned forward. - But did you have to treat my people so roughly?

- I didn't want to fight! - Yang just crossed her arms. - They started it!

- She's right about that! - Mike stood next to Yang.

- And you clearly finished. - Raven shot back.

- And you are right about that. – Mike told Raven the truth and for a while there was an awkward silence, which Raven broke.

- Well, I'm sure it must have been very exhausting but I have to admit you proved yourself. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can stay here tonight, even our cook will make something for you and… - Yang angrily interrupted her mother.

- That's not why we're here! - Everyone stared at her in shock.

- What? - Raven asked indignantly.

- We're not here because of you! Ruby is somewhere in Mistral! She's with Qrow but I'm sure she needs my help! I'm just asking you to get us to her.

- And why would I do it?

- Because we are a family. - Yang put her hands on her chest with feigned empathy, to which Raven narrowed her eyes angrily and shook her head.

- Family. - She turned angrily. - They only come to you when they want something. - She turned back. I have to admit, I'm very disappointed. After all this time, you finally found me. Why aren't you just searching your… - Raven paused for a moment, not to reveal something she shouldn't. – sister with this passion, if she means so much to you?

- Because you can save me time. It's true that Ruby headed for Mistral but it's not certain that she actually got there. Searching for her on the continent could take years. - Yang spread her arms and smiled. - But Dad told me how your Semblance works.

- Tai… - Raven clenched her fists angrily.

- You can form bonds with people, - Yang confidently crossed her arms again. – and when you do that, you're able to create a portal to get to that person. - Raven was possessed by a memory she thought she had buried long ago but the arrival of her daughter brought it back to life. And it was the love. - There's one for dad, one for me and one for Qrow. He promised to take care of Ruby before he left and I trust him. So, make a portal to my uncle and my sister and I'm leaving.

- You know, - Raven just sighed. - it's quite impudence to march in here and ask for such a favor. But honestly, you impressed me. - She started pacing up and down. - It's very noble that you want to help your sister but if she's with Qrow, she's a lost cause.

- What does that mean?! – Yang demanded the answer and Raven just stopped, looked at the sky and was flooded with more unpleasant memories.

- You don't want to get involved, Yang. Ozpin isn't who you believe. - They could feel the anger she felt towards the headmaster. - And Qrow is a fool for trusting him. - He turned back to her daughter. - I just know. Once I trusted him too.

- I don't care what you think!

- It's your decision but I suggest that before you jump too early and too quickly into something that is too big for you or anyone else, maybe you should think about where exactly you belong.

- Save your breath! - Yang grew angrier. - You can preach as much as you want but nothing and no one will separate me from my sister!

- You're stubborn, I'll leave it at that. - Raven just smiled proudly and shook her head.

- I inherited it from my mother! – It was clear that Yang wasn't interested in what her mother wanted to say and that Raven didn't intend to create the portal either.

- If this is really your answer, then we have nothing to talk about. - She turned back to her tent. - Take them out.

- Um… - Mike stared worriedly and trembling at the bandits heading towards them, who would very much like to use violence to remove them. - Now what?

- Didn't you hear me?! – Yang wasn't interested in the bandits, she just stared angrily at Raven, who was about to enter her tent but turned back. - I said - Her eyes turned red. - SEND ME TO QROW YOU F*CK IT!

- That's enough! – One of the bandits really didn't like Yang's tone and pointed his gun at the two young one. – Watch your mouth when you're talking to our leader! - Both Yang and the bandits were ready to fight and Yang was still looking at him with red eyes.

- Make me. - That's all she said.

- Yang, - Mike tried to find a diplomatic solution. – maybe this isn't the best time to…

It was too late, the bandit who attacked Yang who spoke earlier, but she easily dodged the blow and hit him with such force that he flew to the other side of the camp, knocking down a tent. Behind the tent was a cage, in which they saw someone they didn't expect to find here at all.

- Yang? Mike? - The white-haired girl looked at them in amazement.

- Weiss?! – Mike and Yang looked back at the other member of the team RWBY at the same time and there was a stunned silence in the camp.

- Okay, - Weiss just shook her head. – the silent solution is blown.

Suddenly, a white, glowing knight appeared in the cage, with a huge, two-handed broadsword and it kept growing until it easily broke the cage and freed Weiss. The girl got out of the cage and stood between Yang and Mike as the knight followed.

- What's that?! - Yang looked at the knight in amazement.

- I hope, - Mike raised What the Heck. - I'm not allergic to that!

- Don't worry! – Weiss was very happy to see her friends again, although she didn't really understand what they were doing here. - How did you get here?

- Well, - Yang tried to summarize. – she's my mother and she can take us to Ruby's. – Weiss' gaze zigzag between Yang and Raven in amazement and the similarity was clear.

- Your mother kidnapped me?! - Weiss snapped.

- Your mom kidnapped her?! - So is Mike.

- Youou kidnapped her?! - And Yang wasn't left out either.

The bandits were getting angrier and demanded blood and it didn't take long for an amazing showdown to unfold between the tribe and the newcomers. Mike noticed that Raven's eyes were glowing red and he summoned some supernatural power from her hand, causing a bolt of lightning to strike from the sky to the ground, completely stopping the fight that was about to unfold.

- ENOUGH! - She yelled as everyone looked at her and the short haired, tattooed girl next to him who was holding Myrtenaster, Weiss's sword but she was standing there as if she had shot the lightning. - Thank you.

- You just... - Mike could hardly believe his eyes, because what Raven did first wasn't a Semblance or Dust attack but something else.

- If you don't stay calm, this place will be swarming with Grimms and your families will be in danger! - Raven warned her people, then looked at the short-haired girl. - Give her back! – The girl just threw the sword back to Weiss in frustration. - You three, - Now she looked at the three troublemakers. – to my tent! Now!

- Why? - Yang stared at her mother suspiciously.

- If you really want to go after your sister, - Raven narrowed her eyes angrily. – then you need to know the truth. – She turned and went into the tent, the bandits also put away their weapons and they also retreated.

- I'm sorry if… - Yang would have rebuked but Weiss immediately jumped on her neck and hugged her, which Yang took note of in shock. She had never seen her white-haired friend like this before.

- I missed you so much! - She hugged her tightly and buried her face in her long blond hair.

- You too. - Yang hugged me back.

- Aw, - Mike put his hand to his heart. – reunion again! - He hugged Weiss's knight, which reminded him a little of Lance. - I hope I will meet Lance again! - Suddenly, the knight evaporated and disappeared, causing Mike to fall to the ground.

- Oops! - Weiss looked worriedly at the fat boy who was trying to stand up. - Are you okay?

- I'm fine, - He dusted himself off and looked towards Raven's tent. – but I am very curious about something.

- About what? - Yang was interested.

- If we ask your mom nicely, would she tell us an embarrassing but funny childhood story about Qrow?

The day has come when Blake, Sun, and Lynda begin recruiting members for the militia to help save Haven Academy. All three of them uploaded a signature collector onto their Scroll, which, if signed, swears to save Haven.

- Are you ready? - Blake looked back at her friends excitedly.

- We fought giant monsters and robots, - Sun was confident. - I think we can collect some signatures.

- And if they don't want to, - Lynda continued with a laugh. - we persuade them with reasonable arguments and pleading. - She pulled out the blades of one of her wristbands. - This is the logical argument and - Then the other one as well. - and this is the pleading.

- Lynda! - Blake snapped.

- Calm down! - Lynda just laughed. - Just kidding!

- Please don't be violent, - Blake reminded them. - but try to make them understand how important this thing is.

The team split up, Blake, Sun and Lynda tried to collect as many signatures as possible on their own and Lynda tried the market. She stood on a barrel to attract attention.

- Excuse me, - She began loudly. – Haven Academy is in danger and if we don't do something, people will die! Join the fight!

Unfortunately, Lynda only got indifferent and hesitant looks in response, she could hear them whispering and already guessed people's responses. They simply left her and no one signed it.

It was the same all morning, every time Lynda approached someone to ask for a sign, she was simply driven away, left behind or rejected directly. There were many people who already knew what she wanted and said no before she could start.

She couldn't collect a single signature, she was ashamed that she had to go empty-handed to the meeting place, in a small cafe in the harbor, where they ordered drinks and discussed who and how many signatures were they able to collect.

- I'm sorry, guys, but... - Lynda was about to apologize for not getting any signatures but the looks on Blake and Sun's faces revealed that they weren't having much success either. - You didn't collect any either?

- No!

After they all ordered a drink, Sun milkshake which she got in a coconut shell glass with a straw, Blake tea which she got in a fancy cup and Lynda just a simple coke which she drank in a glass with a lemon ring and a straw.

- I just don't understand! - Sun slammed his drink on the table. - How can they refuse to fight when the White Fang is about to attack?

- They're stupid, I say! - Lynda also drank her coke angrily.

- Because these people are not like us! - Blake understood the point of view of the Menagerie residents. – Menagerie faunus who don't live on the continent came here because they were tired of fighting. To constantly have to fight for everything. Menagerie is full of people who just want to be left alone and we ask them to risk their lives for the world.

- You have a good point. - Lynda sighed.

- I haven't even thought of that yet. - Sun just elbowed the table.

- The problem is, - Blake continued worriedly. – whatever happens in Haven will affect them, whether they like it or not. If Adam's plan succeeds and Haven fails, it will only get worse for the faunus! Everywhere!

- I really hope, - Lynda remembered her other teammate. – we don't have to fight Mandy to succeed.

- Mandy, - Sun remembered Mandy. – your teammate?

- Yes. She was a spy for the White Fang all along and betrayed us in the Battle of Beacon. She went back to the White Fang and I don't know where she is.

- Lynda… - Blake also remembered Mandy. – if Mandy is with Adam, she is in great danger. Adam is dangerous and not only because he is very strong.

- Adam, - Although Lynda hasn't met Adam yet, she knows that he has taken over the leadership of the White Fang. – is he the new leader of the White Fang?

- And the guy you used to… - Sun guessed, because it was clear that Blake knew Adam personally. - work together?

- Yes. - Blake just sighed tiredly.

- Was there something between you two? - Lynda inquired but until Sun understood that this was an uncomfortable subject for Blake, Lynda wasn't so gentle.

- Hey, hold back a little... - Sun was the one who told her but Blake stopped him.

- Don't! You're right. - Blake looked to the side nervously. - And yes, we used to be together.

- Indeed?! - Sun just shook his head in amazement.

- Have you met someone and thought, - Blake began. - that he's the embodiment of this word. - Unfortunately, she just confused her friends.

- What? - Lynda shook her head, Sun scratched the back of his head.

- Okay, - Blake tried to make them understand. – when I met Ruby, I thought, this girl is the Purity, then Weiss is the Defiance and Yang is the Strength.

- What am I?! - Sun lifted his glass with his tail and drank from it.

- And me and my team?! - Lynda also asked excitedly.

- Sun's demeanor is pretty deceiving but I'm pretty sure he's Seriousness. – Sun just drank in a frivolous and playful style that made the girls laugh.

- And me and my team. - Lynda asked.

- Well, - Blake mused. – I think you are Courage, Lance is Protection and Mike is Kindness.

- And Mandy? – Lynda noticed that she left out one of her teammates.

- I don't know. - Blake thought. – At first, I thought of Indifference, since she was so indifferent to everything but I think Anger would be the right word for her.

- He told me a few things about how the people of Atlas treated her and her family. – Lynda also remembered that Mandy had told her more than once, rather nonchalantly, what she had been through as a child. If someone had treated me like that, I'm sure they wouldn't live to see tomorrow.

- Yes, - Blake understood. - even good people can do bad things when bad things happen to them. Just like Adam. At first, I thought he was the Justice but as he went down a darker path, I thought he was the Passion and realized I was wrong only too late. - She shook her head in frustration. - He's none of those. He was Despise. Not Hate and not Anger, but Despise. He wouldn't accept equality, he wants the whole world to suffer for what happened to him and his thinking is dangerously contagious. This makes me worry about Ilia, Mandy and Luna. They aren't like Adam. Not yet but I don't know how long.

- We have to make them understand that they are wrong. - Lynda clenched her fists.

- Luna is your sister, right? - Sun guessed and Lynda just nodded.

- My adopted sister but yes.

- And Ilia is your friend? - Sun turned to Blake now.

- She was. - Blake lowered her head. - Her chameleon ability would have allowed her to live a normal life as a human but she didn't. I've always admired that about her. - She raised her head and looked to the side. - She lost her family in a mine accident when she was young and because of that she joined the White Fang. - She looked back at her friends. - Like me, she had combat experience, like many other faunus. She learned to protect herself, to survive and such, - She started to stir her tea. - but people like Sienna and Adam started to gain followers, she became more and more dangerous and… I guess so did I. My parents tried to dissuade me from following them, but I refused. - She leaned back in her chair. - I believed in Adam and... - He blushed a little. – there was more between us than friendship and maybe that's what blinded me, I just didn't want to acknowledge what Adam had become.

- You know that sooner or later we have to face him. - Sun reminded her and turned to Lynda. - And with Luna too.

- We know. - Blake sighed.

- And what are you going to do? - Sun asked.

- By force, - Lynda clenched her fists. – but I beat sense into her!

- Maybe... - Blake had another idea. - we could try to help them like you and Sun tried to help me. - Sun looked at Blake in shock. - You showed me that sometimes you have to be there for your friend, even if they don't want to. I was overwhelmed with guilt and fear, I tried to push you away from me but you didn't give up. So, I can't give up on Ilia and Lynda, you can't give up on Luna either. - She pounded the table decisively. – It's time to save our friends!

- So be it. – Lynda smiled confidently but Sun just nodded in acknowledgment.
