Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 43
Taki main entrance: With Naruto, Temari and others
The calm tranquility of the morning at the Taki entrance was shattered by 2 simultaneous shouts from down the road.
"Wind Combine Jutsu" Naruto and Temari roared as they swung their fan launching a powerful combined Wind Jutsu towards the 100 Taki ninja guarding the entrance.
"Attack" one of the Taki jonin shouted as he and several other made hand signs "Water Style: Water wall"; the jonin and several other made water walls, mud walls or dropped to the ground as the jutsu neared.
The oncoming wind jutsu blasted through the area cutting down everything and everyone in its path; the several scattered guard huts were blown away and those who did not put up a defense in time were hit dead on by the jutsu.
25 of the Taki Shinobi were sent flying, hitting trees, smacking into boulders and being sent flying into the large water fall and drowning. When the winds died down the Taki ninja dropped his water wall and saw Naruto, Temari, Kakashi, Guy, Lee and Shibi Aburame all charged ahead towards them.
"Enemy coming" the Jonin shouted as he took out a flare and shot it into the air to signal an attack; "on your guard; don't let these bastards- Gah". The Taki jonin was cut off when a sword pierced his back and exited his chest.
Obito used his Kamui to vortex himself and Kurumi behind the group of Taki ninja; Kurumi went after their commander first in order to eliminate their leader ship.
"Commander" a chunin shouted as he took out a kunai and charged towards Kurumi sending a stab towards her; Kurumi turned and blocked the blade and parried it to the side before coming up in a rising slash cutting open the chunin's chest.
"Fuck" another ninja shouted as he charged towards Obito; the ninja took out a sword and slashed towards Obito. Obito used his Kamui to phase through the attack surprising the ninja as his blade passed through with no resistance.
Obito saw the ninja pass through him and he took out a kunai and stabbed the ninja in the back of the neck, severing his brain stem and killing him instantly.
Naruto seeing that Kurumi and Obito had already started their attack put up his fan and made a hand sign "Shadow clone jutsu" Naruto shouted as he created 20 shadow clones. All of the clones activated their gauntlet blades but Naruto outstretched his hand and a clone began to form a rasengan in it.
Naruto rushed ahead of his comrades with his clones as they engaged the enemy; Naruto focused on a Taki ninja and put his arm forward "Rasengan" he shouted as he buried the jutsu into the Taki ninja.
Temari closed her fan and swung it like a club towards a Taki ninja; the ninja was hit across the head with the club fracturing his skull. Another ninja came up behind her and sent a punch towards her; Temari ducked under the punch and responded with a kick to his gut before swinging her fan at the mans legs.
Temari knocked the man off his feet knocking him to the ground; Temari raised her fan and brought it down onto his chest like a sledge hammer breaking his ribs and his sternum.
Kakashi took out a kunai and charged it with a raikiri and rushed forward; Kakashi was little more than a fast moving blue line as he went from enemy to enemy piercing them with his jutsu. When he finally stopped 10 were dead and Kakashi rushed to fight the remaining ninja.
Guy and Lee were swarmed by a group of 20 ninja and both of the green clad ninja were making quick work of them; both Lee and Guy used their superior taijutsu to knockout or cripple the attacking ninja.
Shibi Aburame stood a few yards away and extended his arms launching his insects at the Taki ninja; the large swarm of insects began to attack several of the Taki ninja who tried to get away. However they were subdued in a few seconds as the insects began to suck out their chakra; the Taki ninja all fell down unconscious due to chakra exhaustion.
Naruto and the others continued to fight for several minutes; when only one Taki ninja remained Naruto and the others looked at him. He was a young maybe no older than 11 or 12 and seemed very inexperienced in combat as he held a kunai in a shaky hand.
Naruto seeing this spoke up "just give up buddy, there's no need to fight" he said to the young ninja "You don't need to die; just surrender". The Taki ninja stood there for a few seconds before dropping the kunai and raising his hands into the air.
"Lee go and restrain him" Kakashi ordered and Lee saluted.
"Yes Kakashi sensei" Lee said as he ran behind the ninja; Lee put him on his knees and began to tie his hands together with ninja wire "Temari; call Tsunade and the others in".
"Right" Temari said as she pulled out her walkie talkie "Lady Tsunade; this is Temari, we've taken the enterance".
"Good work" Tsunade said over the radio "hold tight, we'll be there in a few minutes"; the radio clicked off and Naruto made a hand sign.
"Shadow clone jutsu" Naruto said as he created several clones; Naruto and his clones then began to walk around and grabbing the dead bodies.
"What are you doing Naruto" Temari asked and Naruto spoke.
"Putting them to the side, for burial later" Naruto said as he began to drag one of the corpses; Kurumi seeing this put up her sword and walked over.
"Let me grab the legs" Kurumi said as she helped Naruto pull the body off to the side; everyone looked on and Kakashi spoke up.
"Me, Guy, Obito and Shibi will keep guard" Kakashi said "move the bodies"; Temari and Lee both nodded and they went to assist Naruto and Kurumi.
Inside Taki: With Neji and Tenten
Neji was standing on a platform with Tenten above his root ninja looking down at them as they gathered below "Taki is under attack from an enemy force; they have already taken the outer checkpoint and will be inside the village in a matter of time" he said.
Neji had 500 ninja at his disposal to battle along with Taki; there was also the 100 new arrivals at the Taki academy but those one's weren't under his command.
"What are your order commander Hyuga" One of the root ninja asked and Neji spoke.
"Half of you take up defensive positions in the city" Neji instructed "the other half will be split up between me and commander Tenten; I will defend the barracks while she defends the armory".
"Yes sir" the root ninja shouted as they all began to rush out; Neji turned to Tenten and spoke.
"Get to the armory; we'll need it to resupply our ninja" Neji said and Tenten nodded.
"Yes sir" Tenten said as she rushed out; Neji began to walk away in order to prepare for the battle that was going to take place.
'Naruto is here… he will be coming for me' Neji thought 'he's the only one who can even come close to my power; a fated rematch.
With Naruto, Temari, Tsunade and Katsu
Naruto, Temari, Tsunade and their comrades all followed behind Katsu as she led the way through the waterfall entrance freezing the water as she walked; behind her the snow ninja used their ice jutsu in order to keep a ice corridor open.
"Damn Katsu; this is pretty cool" Naruto said as he followed the spring kunoichi "does this take a lot of chakra; I mean you've been doing this for like five minutes".
Katsu looked to Naruto and smiled as she kept walking "nah it's not a lot of chakra, just some" Katsu said "nothing a food pill can't fix".
"Glad to hear that; after all we're going to need you" Tsunade said as she smiled at Katsu; as they walked Tsunade saw sunlight up ahead and spoke up "we're nearing the end".
Naruto, Temari and the others all got ready as Tsunade spoke to Katsu "Katsu, there's going to be a lot of enemy ninja; do you have any powerful ice Jutsu to deal with them".
Katsu looked at her and smiled "I thought you'd never ask" she said.
……
At the inner checkpoint over 300 Taki and Root ninja waited on the other side of the entrance to Taki waiting for the enemy; all of the ninja present were tense as they never thought that Taki's defenses could be so easily bypassed.
The water fall that sealed the entrance has protected them from 2 separate invasions from Iwa and Kusa; no the waterfall was being used against them as the spring ninja were freezing the water.
As they all waited they all looked at the water rushing down to the moat below; the water began to rumble and everyone got ready for the invasion force to come rushing out of the water.
So it came as a surprise to all of them when hundreds of ice spikes shot out of the water fall shooting out in every direction; the ice spikes were devastating as dozens of ninja were hit and killed. Most of the ninja used their kunai's and swords to block the spikes but a lot still suffered wounds by ice shards and shrapnel.
The entrance froze over creating an archway and a walkway over the moat; Tsunade leading the charge rushed in with her small force behind her.
"Attack" Tsunade shouted as she cocked back her fist; Tsunade punched the ground sending a line of earth shooting up towards the defending shinobi "find that damn switch and open the entrance for out forces".
"Got it granny" Naruto said as he and Temari broke off from the force to go and divert the water.
"Stop them; don't let them-" A root ninja shouted before Sakura appeared in front of him with her fist cocked back.
"Chaaaa" Sakura roared as she drove her fist into the root ninja's gut sending him flying into another root ninja "you're fight is with us". Sakura along with the others all began to fight defending enemy ninja.
With Naruto and Temari
Naruto took out several shuriken and threw them at a Taki ninja ahead of him; the shuriken hit the ninja and he fell down to the ground and began to groan as he began to bleed out.
"Ok so granny said it was in a building" Naruto said as he ran along the moat looking around "there's nothing but tree's around here".
"Well what do you expect Naruto" Temari said "a brightly colored building and a sign that says-".
"Hey look" Naruto said as he pointed off to the right at the wall across the moat; there was a large red building built into the stone wall with stilts holding up and large pipes going into the wall. There was also a large sign that said 'Off Limits: Authorized Personnel Only'.
"Wow… look at me being wrong" Temari said with a sweat drop; up ahead there was a bridge to go across the moat which was guarded by 4 Taki Anbu.
"Enemy ninja; stop them" an anbu said as he and his 3 fellow anbu charged towards Naruto and Temari.
Naruto reached back and grabbed his fan and began to swing it forward to launch a wind jutsu; however before he could launch it a Taki Anbu launched a water jutsu.
"Water Style: Water whip" A stream of water shot out of the water and knocked the fan from Naruto's hand.
"Shit" Naruto shouted as 2 anbu closed the distance with their sword drawn; Naruto having his fan knocked away activated his gauntlet blade and reached behind him grabbing his tanto. One of the anbu swung his sword at Naruto but Naruto blocked the blade with his gauntlet; the other anbu came in from the side and slashed at Naruto.
Naruto used his tanto to block the blade as the sound of grinding metal pierced Naruto's ears; the first anbu kicked Naruto in the chest sending him stumbling back. Naruto stumbled back a few feet until he regained his footing; Naruto put up his tanto and grabbed one of his fans.
Naruto opened it and swung "Wind Sickle Jutsu" Naruto shouted as he fired a wind Jutsu towards the anbu; the 2 anbu jumped to opposite sides to avoid the attack.
Temari meanwhile was fighting the other 2 anbu in order to go and help Naruto "Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari shouted as she swung her fan launching her wind jutsu. One of the anbu jumped into the water to avoid the attack and the other took cover behind a tree; when the jutsu died down the anbu hiding behind the tree came out and began to go through hand signs.
"Earth Style: Mud slide" the Anbu shouted as he slammed his hands onto the ground.
Temari felt the ground shift under her feet and she looked down and saw the ground she was on turn to mud; Temari tried to keep her balance as she slid to the moat. Temari was able to break free and jump onto the moat using the water walking technique to stand up on the water.
Temari was barely on the water for a few seconds when she looked down and saw the second anbu coming up from under her; the anbu shot out of the water with his sword and aimed a stab towards Temari's chest.
Temari dodged at the last moment and the blade glanced off of her armor leaving a 6 inch long cut; Temari closed her fan and swung it towards the Anbu. The fan hit the anbu in the head making his head turn to the side very quickly; the anbu was sent flying to shore unconscious from a concussion.
The other anbu seeing his friend get knocked out charged in with his sword and swung it at Temari; Temari used her fan to block the sword and both she and the anbu fought at close range.
With Tsunade
Tsunade punched a Root ninja in the head using her super strength; the punch splattered the ninja's brains across the ground as his body began to twitch from due to the nervous system.
Tsunade looked around and saw her forces holding off the enemy although they were slowly taking casualties; she saw Sakura and Kurumi both fighting together as they were watching each others backs.
Kurumi blocked a kunai stab with her sword and she looked at the ninja with her glowing red sharingan; Kurumi spun around and sent a kick to his head as her reel hit him in the temple knocking him down.
Another ninja came up from behind Kurumi and Kurumi was about to turn around and engage him; however before she could Sakura appeared with her hand crackling with lightning.
"Raitanken" Sakura shouted as she punched the ninja sending a current of lighting through his body while simultaneously sending him flying into a group of Taki ninja shocking them all. "Are you ok Kurumi" Sakura said and Kurumi nodded.
"I'm good" Kurumi said as she got back to back with Sakura "where the hell is Naruto and Temari; why haven't they diverted the damn water".
"I don't know; just keep fighting" Sakura said as she and Kurumi got ready for another fight.
Tsunade kicked another Taki ninja away as more reinforcements arrived 'Naruto, Temari, hurry the hell up' she thought.
With Naruto and Temari
Naruto blocked a slash from the first anbu with his gauntlet blade and brought back small fan and swung it forward; Naruto hit the first anbu with a wind Jutsu sending him flying backwards into a tree.
The anbu hit the tree with his back and got the wind knocked out of him; the second anbu seeing this made a hand sign.
"Earth Style: Rock Fist" the anbu shouted as rocks rose from the ground and covered his fist in earth; he charged at Naruto cocking his fist back. Naruto seeing this brought up his gauntlet to block the blow; the result was the attack being blocked but the fist snapped off the blade from Naruto's gauntlet.
The anbu followed up by seeing a knee into Naruto side making his cough out his breath and knocking him back; Naruto regained his balance and made a hand sign "Shadow clone jutsu" he shouted. 6 clones appeared and Naruto charged in with his clones backing him up; 2 of Naruto's clones went in from the sides and the anbu got into a defensive stance.
The first clone attacked by throwing a punch towards the anbu; the anbu blocked the punch and kicked the clone away dispelling it. The second clone sent a kick towards the anbu and the anbu blocked it before using his sword to stab it and destroying it.
However the anbu realized his mistake as now there were four clones on all sides; the one on the right punched him across the face cocking his head to the side. The clone on the right punched him in the as well stunning him; the clone in the back sent a rising kick to his back launching him into the air.
The clone in the front jumped up and sent another kick connecting to the under side of the chin sending the anbu higher into the air; the anbu looked up and saw the original Naruto above him and he had both of his small fans.
"Uzumaki wind Barrage" Naruto shouted as he swung his fans down towards the anbu sending him to the ground fast as well as destroying his clones; that anbu hit the ground and was unconscious lying in a crater.
Naruto landed next to the knocked out anbu and felt his pulse 'wow this is one tough bastard; most guys would've died from a blow like that' Naruto thought 'guess he's an anbu for a reason'.
Naruto was brought out of his thoughts by the other anbu getting back up "I can't let you win" he said "my village will not fall"; the anbu took out a tiny vial of water and sighed. "For Taki" he said as he popped it open and drank it; suddenly his chakra began to replenish and he felt more powerful than he ever had before 'so this is the power of the hero's water' he thought.
The anbu gripped her sword and made a hand sign; water began to rise from the wet ground and cover his sword. Naruto seeing this created a clone and began to make a rasengan; Naruto dispelled the clone as he held his rasengan and looked at the lone anbu.
"You're a good ninja" Naruto said showing respect towards the anbu; Naruto and the anbu charged towards each other. Naruto stretched his arm out and the anbu swung his sword; Naruto's rasengan and the anbu's sword clashed as both men pushed in order to break the other.
Naruto's rasengan screeched against the sword for a few seconds as the sword held; however his rasengan won out and his jutsu smashed through the sword and went into the anbu's chest tearing through his armor.
The anbu was sent flying into a tree hitting it before falling to the ground; he had a grapefruit size whole chest destroying his heart. The dead anbu laid there and Naruto closed his eyes in prayer.
'I'll remember this battle for the rest of my life' Naruto thought before opening his eyes and going to look for Temari.
Temari was still fighting the last anbu and she had the upper hand as she so far was keeping him at a distance using her wind jutsu; Temari brought back her fan and swung it forward as she launched another wind jutsu.
The anbu seeing this went through hand signs and shouted "Water Style: Water Wall" the anbu created a water wall in front of him as the wind Jutsu collided. Temari's wind jutsu slammed into the water wall and the result was the water wall being destroyed and sending water droplets in the air.
The Anbu made another hand sign and shouted "Water Style: Water Clone" the anbu created 2 water clones and charged at Temari.
"Damn" Temari said as she closed her fan and got into a defensive stance; the first clone approached and Temari swung her fan towards the clone. Temari's fan smashed into the clone dispelling it; the second clone came up behind Temari and swung it's sword at her head.
Temari ducked under the sword and swung her fan once more hitting the clone; Temari then jumped into the air and spun around to where the anbu was. "Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari shouted as she fired another wind jutsu towards the anbu; the anbu was too close to dodge so he was hit by the wind jutsu.
The Anbu was sent flying towards the woods and he hit a tree; the impact split him in half and sent his guts and blood flying all over the place.
Naruto exited the woods looking for Temari; suddenly he was hit in the face by a large amount of warm liquid. Naruto stood there for a second and wiped his eyes "what the hell was…" Naruto began but stopped when he saw the red liquid. Naruto turned his head and saw where it came from as he saw the top and bottom half of a anbu on either side of a tree.
"Naruto are you ok-" Temari said running over before stopping; Temari had Naruto's fan in her hand and she looked at her blood and gore covered boyfriend "oh my god… I'm so sorry".
Naruto spit revealing a stream of blood out of his mouth revealing he had some in his mouth "just shut off the damn water" Naruto said defeated before grabbing his fan and walking over to the moat "I'm gonna wash this crap off of me" he said.
A few minutes later: With Tsunade
Tsunade and her forces were still fighting when she heard mechanical sounds behind her; Tsunade turned around and saw the water from the water fall begin to lighten as the water began to be diverted.
A few seconds passed and the water was now completely gone and Tsunade saw light through the tunnel; a few more seconds later the rest of the invasion force began to rush through the entrance.
Off to the right Naruto and Temari ran over and Tsunade spoke "you did it; about damn time" she said and Naruto groaned.
"We ran into four anbu guarding the place" Naruto said " what now Granny"; Tsunade looked at Naruto and Temari and spoke.
"Gather a team and go to your objectives" Tsunade said "Naruto remember you need to take the barracks no matter what; Temari take the academy to prevent them from getting a rally point".
"Right" Naruto said as he turned to Temari "be safe; I love you".
"I love you too Naruto" Temari said; Naruto went to go and find Kurumi and Obito while Temari went to go and find her unit.
Outside the Barracks
Kurumi and about 200 ninja ran through Taki on the way to the barracks; as they ran through the village the large concrete barracks came into view.
On the roof on the building there was a large amount of root ninja waiting on the roof and in front of the building; Kurumi seeing this took in a deep breath.
'Ok Kurumi, you got this' Kurumi thought 'you need to do this for pa and Naruto'; Kurumi grabbed her sword and raised it into the air.
"Attack, attack; take the building" Kurumi shouted as she and her ninja let out a battle cry; the root ninja let out a battle cry as well as they all charged towards Kurumi's forces. Kurumi swung her sword decapitating an enemy as she began the battle.
Inside the Barracks
A vortex appeared in a dark hallway and both Naruto and Obito walked out of it and looked around "coast is clear" Naruto said as he and Obito began to sneak through the hallway. Naruto and Obito were both looking for the commander who they assumed was inside the building.
As Naruto and Obito snuck around Obito stopped Naruto and pointed "look; door at the end of the hall" he said; Naruto looked over and saw there was light coming from under the door "if I was a betting man…".
"Let go and check" Naruto said as he and Obito ran over and opened the door revealing a large well lit room; Naruto and Obito walked in and looked around and saw that the room that reminded him of the preliminaries he did back in Konoha with his old team. "Damn this place is big" Naruto said as he and Obito walked to the middle of the room.
"Hello Naruto; it's been a while" came a voice; Naruto and Obito turned and saw someone standing on a platform. Naruto went wide eyed as he saw who it was.
"Neji" Naruto said surprised; Neji was looking down at Naruto with a blank look of superiority "so you're the commander of the root ninja here".
Neji nodded "yes I am" Neji said before he jumped down to the ground below making both Naruto and Obito get into a defensive stance "and I must say… I'm glad you were the one to come here" he said.
"Naruto; you know this guy" Obito asked and Naruto nodded.
"Neji Hyuga; he's the genius of the Hyuga Clan" Naruto said "but I kicked the shit out of him a few years ago".
"You won by the power of the Kyuubi" Neji said coldly "without the Kyuubi's power you'd be nothing more than a common plebeian". "Never the less… this is a fated battle" Neji said before looking at Obito "you're an Uchiha… please leave the area; this is between me and the failure here".
"And why would I do that" Obito said and Neji smirked; Neji snapped his fingers and from the ceiling 10 figures dropped down and surrounded Obito and Naruto. All ten ninja were Hyuga some with curse marks and some without.
"Because my staff will keep you occupied" Neji said "they are more than capable" he said.
"Obito sensei" Naruto said looking at Obito "just go; I got this"; Obito looked at Naruto's eyes and nodded.
"Ok Naruto" Obito said before he looked to the side and saw another door and spoke to Neji "where does that lead to".
"Another room just like this" Neji said before looking at his guards "go to the room and fight him there; don't interrupt us".
"Yes lord Neji" one of the Hyuga said "get a move on".
Obito looked at Naruto and nodded; Obito walked out of the room with the 10 Hyuga right behind him leaving Neji and Naruto alone.
"I have been waiting for this day for a long time" Neji said as he activated his Byakugan.
"I'd gladly kick your ass again" Naruto said as he took out his 2 small fans "face it Neji; we won, we're in the village and taking over everything". "You're fucked" Naruto said and Neji narrowed his eyes.
'Shows what you know' Neji thought 'I feel sorry for whoever has to take the academy'.
At the academy: With Temari
Temari was with a squad of 4 ninja securing the outside of the academy; her force of 100 shinobi were fighting another group of root ninja in the halls. Temari knowing she'd be at a disadvantage fighting in a building decided to take the outside.
As she and her squad moved through a small wooded area outside the academy the point man stopped; Temari and the others stopped as well and Temari spoke.
"Minami, what's wrong" Temari asked and Minami spoke.
"L-lady Temari-" Minami began until head spun around 180 degrees breaking her neck and making the rest of the squad freeze in fear.
"Oh dear lord" another ninja shouted before a shadow shot out of the woods and slashed his throat; Temari jumped away but the other 2 in her squad were captured by a shadow what constricted around them.
The shadow began to squeeze them tightly until the pressure was too much and it cut them to pieces; Temari opened her fan and waited to see where the shadow would come from. However it did not and someone walked out of the woods.
"Hey Temari; it's been a while" came a voice that made Temari freeze; a few seconds later Shikamaru walked out of the shadows and spoke "you look good… did you do something different with you're hair".
Temari froze before speaking "w-what are you doing here" she said and Shikamaru spoke.
"I came here to help Neji prepare for another offensive in Kusa… but it looks like that's not going to happen" Shikamaru said looking at Temari "we don't have to fight you know; just surrender and I'll make sure you're not harmed".
Temari scoffed at this and spoke "piss off lazy ass" Temari said "I'll do what I should've done in the hospital all those years ago; cave your damn skull in".
Shikamaru sighed as he manipulated his shadow towards the four corpses of Temari's squad; Shikamaru used his shadow to raise the corpses of Temari's fallen comrades. Temari was appalled at Shikamaru was using his shadow to use her dead teammates as puppets; in Suna it was taboo to for puppet users to use and enemy corpse as a weapon.
"You leave me no choice then" Shikamaru said "I'll try not to leave scars".
