Chapter 34: Beginnings of another wedding

August 19, 2001

Grissom woke up to the feel of his wife's thumb running up and down his cheek, and once his eyes were open, they smile at one another before he whispered. "Morning."

Her eyes were bright as she replied in return. "Morning. How was last night?"

He took a breath before replying. "It was alright."

The tone of his words made her think he didn't sound all that enthusiastic, which meant whatever happened wasn't something he normally did, so with a mock sympathy look, she ran her thumb up and down his cheek again while replying with a smile and a playful glint in her eyes. "Aww, did my baby go barhopping last night?"

He did a disapproving noise and wrapped his arm around her shirt covered waist and brings her close to him. "Yes, and I missed you terribly."

Now that she was closer to him, she whispered. "I missed you too." Grissom was about to say something else about last night, but became distracted with what happened next, she kissed him before pulling back and whispered again. "In fact, I'm missing you right now."

Grissom smiled as he slipped his other hand under shirt so he could touch her stomach. "I'm right here, honey."

She moved her hand from his cheek and ran it down his shirt covered chest, which she was a little disappointed he was wearing a shirt at all, even though she understood his reasoning, while speaking as her hand stopped at the waistband of his sweatpants. "I think you know what I mean."

He raised an eyebrow. "Wait, right here, right now?"

She smirked. "I do believe there is a raincheck that needs to be cashed in." She kissed him again as her hand remained at the waistband of his sweatpants, then she pulled back slowly and whispered one more time, with a challenging tone. "Besides, where is your sense of adventure?"

Seeing that really as a challenge, Grissom removed her hand from his waistband and moved quickly so he was now above her, and he spoke with passion in his eyes. "Oh, I think I proved enough of how adventures I can get."

Feeling a little breathless at the heat she was feeling between them, especially while looking into his darken eyes, she did manage to chuckle. "That you have Dr. Grissom. And come to think of it I believe I've been a very bad influence on you."

Although not all those 'adventures' times, was always her idea. But the fact that he had been thinking about it and went through with most of them, probably never would have happened with anyone else but her.

He smirked as his lips went down to her neck. "Yes, a very bad influence indeed."

She had her eyes closed, loving the feeling of his lips against her neck, as she slipped her hands under his shirt from the top so she could touch his bare back. "So, what are you going to do about it?"

He pulls back so he could look down at her and asked while she opened her eyes. "What's gotten into you?"

Not that he was complaining of her attention right now, he was just curious.

She shook her head with a smile and ran a hand back to his cheek. "Nothing, I just want my husband. Besides, I know in a few months this will be harder to do so we better take as much advantage of it as we can."

He smiled lovingly as he moved back so he could help her sit up and take her shirt off. "You know there are other ways we can still..."

She cuts him off as she finally got his shirt off. "Yes." Then with passion in her eyes, she lays back down, taking him with her, replies. "But not my favorite way."

With passion, he asked. "And which way is that?"

She brings him closer so she could whisper that in his ear, causing him to close his eyes while she was using one of her hands to lower his sweatpants, but it wasn't working very well, so he chuckled lightly before asking. "You need help?"

Now feeling frustrated in many ways, she nodded. "Yes please."

He reluctantly moved from her and got off the bed to take his sweatpants off, before asking with a smirk. "Happy now."

She smiled while looking at her glorious husband and held out her hand. "Almost."

He moves back on the bed, takes her hand and moves so he was above her again, their left hands slipped into one another's, and along with passion/desire in their eyes was a deep love for one another while he spoke softly. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, babe." She wrapped her arm around his neck and finished. "Now show me how much."

He smiled and leaned down to kiss her lips lightly before he moved down to her stomach, which had been his favorite thing lately, especially once the bump had become more noticeable, and kissed it a few times before moving back up to her lips, and as their lips touched passionately, they became one in every way, a feeling they get every time.

Afterwards, laying in each other's arms, Grissom took a breath before speaking. "Well, that was..."

She smirked as she cupped his cheek. "Unexpected?"

He nodded with a smile. "Yes." He then cupped her cheek. "But I'm not complaining."

She took a breath with a smile. "Good, I was kind of worried there for a minute."

He chuckled before speaking with a serious tone. "Honey, you know you are irresistible to me, right? That I have to remind myself when we are in certain places, we can't do what I'm thinking at times?"

She chuckled lightly as she ran her thumb up and down his cheek. "Like the lab?"

He took a breath with a nod. "Especially the lab, and when I know you have to go take a shower."

She shook her head with a playful disapproving noise. "Naughty, naughty, Dr. Grissom." She then whispered as she moved closer to him to give him a soft kiss, then she pulls back slowly and whispered. "But I know that exact feeling."

He chuckled. "See, bad influence."

She chuckled. "Oh, you know you love it."

He ran his thumb up and down her cheek as he whispered. "I do, but only with you. You've opened me up in more ways than I could have ever imagined being."

"Me too, and only with you as well. It is kind of scary though, isn't it?"

"Absolutely, especially in the beginning, but now that we are confident in us, more solid than ever before, I'm less scared. We got this, Sara."

She nodded again with a bright smile. "We do, babe. No matter what comes our way, you hear me? Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever break us apart as long as we are in this together."

He nodded with a smile. "Always."

As they leaned toward one another to share another kiss, Grissom's phone vibrates on the nightstand, so they cut the kiss shorter than they would have liked before he turned his body around to grab his phone and answered it after flipping it open. "Grissom...ok, we'll be out there shortly...thanks, bye."

He closed his phone and placed it back on the nightstand before looking over at her. "That was Catherine, breakfast is served."

She smirked as she moved to get out of the bed. "Good, because I'm starved."

Grissom laid on his side, with his hand holding his head up while watching his wife, who was only wearing his shirt, head to her suitcase to get clothes, smirked. "I wonder why that is?"

She smirked in return. "Well, I'm eating for two, duh."

He gets out of bed quickly, only in his sweatpants, gets to her and wrapped his arm around her waist, causing her to gasp with a chuckle before he asked. "Really? That's the only reason?"

She turns around in his arms, her clothes in her hand while she wrapped them around his neck. "Ok, maybe our adventurous morning has something to do with it."

They share a soft kiss, and just as she was about to release him completely, he spoke after clearing his throat. "There is something I should tell you before we go out there, which I was going to say something earlier, but I was quite distracted."

"What? By me?"

He chuckled. "Yes, by you. Can I tell you now, it is kind of important."

Now she felt she should be in serious mode, so she asked with a serious tone. "Ok, what is it?"

He slid his hand under shirt to feel her stomach as he told her. "Catherine knows that you're pregnant."

She looked at him with wide eyes. "What? I didn't say anything." She took a breath and continued. "I mean I would have, but this is her weekend. I didn't want to steal her thunder."

He nodded with a smile. "I figured, but honey, you tried hiding it from one of the best CSI's out there, who is one of the most observant, thorough ones you can find."

She smirked as she lightly hit his shoulder and got out of his arms. "Well, good going teacher, I know she learned that mostly from you." Grissom chuckled as he turned to watch her sit on the end of the bed, then she asked a little worried. "She's not upset, is she?"

He shook his head. "What, honey? Of course not. She's happy for me, for us."

"Ok, as long as I didn't wreck anything."

He sits down next to her on the bed and took her hand. "Of course not." He then continued. "And I guess I can tell you that on your wedding day she told me she was engaged."

She chuckled. "Oh really?"

"Yep."

"So basically, I just upped one'd her, then."

He chuckled in return. "I guess so, if you want to think about it like that."

She placed her free hand on her stomach. "Then I guess there is no point in purposely hiding this little one now."

He slipped his fingers through hers and shook his head. "I guess not. Are you ok with that?"

She paused for a second, then nodded with a smile on her face. "Yes, I told Quinn last night, so I feel better if the rest of the world knows now."

If they were in a darken room, Grissom's smile and bright eyes could have lit it up in an instant. "Yeah?"

Sara's heart fluttered at her husband's face, he was so proud to be a father and he didn't want to hide it.

"Yeah, no more fear, we got this."

He chuckled again with a nod as he leaned toward her. "Yes, we do."

They share a few kisses before they finally put on some temporary clothes that they'll ware before getting dressed up for the wedding later that afternoon.

Afternoon

When Belle and Lindsey made it back to Catherine's, everyone got ready, which after the women did, they went to Catherine's room to help her.

Grissom was in the living room when Belle and Lindsey, who were both in their beautiful dresses with braided hair, came rushing into the room, causing Grissom to ask with a slight worry. "Is everything ok?"

The girls nodded with smiles while Belle spoke. "Daddy you should see mommy, she's so beautiful."

Grissom smiled. "Butterfly, she's always beautiful."

"Yeah, but she's extra beautiful today."

Then Lindsey pipes in. "And so is my mom."

Grissom nodded with another smile. "I'm very sure is."

A moment later, Grissom saw Quinn coming into the room, and like the gentleman he was raised to be, he stood up from the couch with a smile. "You look very beautiful, Quinn."

Quinn smiled at the compliment before replying while looking at the tux wearing man in front of her. "You don't look bad yourself, Sara is one lucky woman."

Grissom just gave her another smile and head nod while Ashley came walking into the room, getting the same compliment that Quinn did, which he got the same response before Sara appeared, and it was like his world stopped for the billionth time since he met her.

His beautiful wife was in a dress, a sight that was extremely rare, and that while it didn't look tight on her, he could see that some movements you are bound to notice her stomach and it took his breath away, even more than it already was, so when Sara was near, she whispered. "You don't want to catch a fly babe, do you?"

He closed his mouth and took a breath before he softly spoke. "My dear, you look absolutely stunning."

She smiled with pride as she looked at her man wearing a tux. "And you don't look bad yourself, I'm probably the luckiest woman alive."

Her friends snickered, then Sara smirked. "Shut up, let me have my moment."

They chuckled for a moment then it was like everything stopped for everyone when Catherine walked into the room wearing an elegant, open shoulder, satin and lace dress that went down to the floor with her short, blond hair in a braid.

She stopped just as she got into the living room, and while she was a confident, strong woman, she had a moment of vulnerability. "So, how do I look?"

Grissom, having viewed her as just a friend for a long time, smiled brightly as he walked towards her. "Catherine, you look amazing, now Warrick is one lucky man."

Catherine smiled with that confidence back in place. "He sure is, isn't he?"

They chuckled, then after the women had grabbed their purses they headed for the front door, and when they opened it and had walked out of the house, a black limo was parked out front and the driver, who was standing next to the opened back door, had a sign that read 'For the future Mrs. Brown and guests.'

Grissom looked at Catherine and asked. "Did you know about this?"

Catherine shook her head with a smile. "No, I didn't."

They started walking towards the opened door to the Limo while Grissom responded in shock. "It seems he's pulling out all the stops for you."

"He sure is." They stop at the door and the girls get in, then Quinn and Ashley get in as she spoke again, this time with more emotion. "I got a good one this time, didn't I?"

While he doesn't get to see how they are on a daily basis now that they are a couple, he did witness how they were as friends, and saw that Warrick had always respected her and could tell how much he cared for her, so he could only imagine, beyond what he has already witnessed, how they are now that their feelings for one another can be completely free and reciprocated.

Grissom nodded with a smile. "Yes, I really believe you have, and don't doubt that you deserve this, to have all the happiness in the world, I'm rooting for you both."

Catherine nodded before sharing a hug, then after they pulled back, he helped her in the limo before turning his attention to his wife.

They smile at one another before Grissom spoke after cupping her cheek. "I'll meet you at the wedding venue."

With them not staying very long at the reception because of the drive back home, they needed the vehicle with them.

Sara smiled. "Are you sure you don't want me riding with you?"

He shook his head with a smile. "No, it's ok, enjoy the limo ride with the girls."

She then smirked jokingly; she really didn't care about those things. "Yeah, you're probably right, it's not every day I get to ride in a limo."

He raised an eyebrow as he asked. "Are you saying I need to up my game?"

She chuckled. "All I'm saying is that I didn't get a limo for my wedding."

He spoke softly. "Well dear, I did give you a beach wedding."

She cupped his cheek with love in her eyes. "That is true, and I think ultimately that trumps the limo ride."

He then smirks. "So, I'm still the best then."

"Always."

"I..."

Catherine cuts off Grissom. "Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt you two, but we do have a wedding to get to."

They all chuckled then Sara spoke shyly. "I better get in."

"Yes, or you might end up riding with me anyways. I love you; I'll see you soon."

"I love you too, and yes you will."

They kiss softly, and after Grissom helped Sara in the Limo, he let the driver take over by shutting the door while he headed for his vehicle so he could get to the venue before the limo does.

Once Sara was settled in and the door closed, Catherine smirked while looking at the younger woman across from her. "Jeez, are your goodbyes always that long?"

Before Sara could reply, which she was still looking shyly at the older woman, Ashley spoke with a smirk. "Oh, they are king and queens of long goodbyes."

Quinn then pipped in with a smirk of her own. "So true, it's like they can't spend even a second apart."

Sara chuckled. "Oh, come one, we aren't that bad, give us a little credit." While her friends looked at her with a 'yeah right look', she continued with a smirk. "Ok, maybe a few hours then we start getting antsy, happy?"

They all chuckled again before Catherine smiled at Sara. "You're really in love with him."

She knew they loved one another, but Catherine could see Sara's love for him was deeper than she could have imagined each time she was around them.

With no hesitation or shyness, Sara replied with a bright, loving smile. "I am, he's my best friend." She then looks at her Ashely and Quinn. "Not that you guys aren't..."

Ashley cuts her off with a smile. "We get it, Sara."

Sara nodded while looking at Catherine again. "My soulmate, the love of my life, he makes me feel whole, and most importantly, he's the father of my..."

Catherine cuts her off with a smile. "Children."

Sara placed her hand on her stomach with another bright smile. "Yes, children."

"Congratulations by the way."

"Thank you, and I hope I didn't wreck anything, this is your day."

She shook her head. "You didn't." She then cleared her throat before continuing shyly. "And I think I should confess to you that I told Gil that I was engaged on your wedding day."

Sara chuckled. "I know, he told me."

"So, are we good?"

Sara nodded with another chuckle. "We are good."
