Diana would remain by Sansa's side, far from the site of the great battle between the armies. Thus, they would have an advantage in the event of a defeat to flee before the arrival of Ramsay Bolton's troops. However, the intention of the Princess of the Amazons changed radically when she witnessed the horror taking place on the faces of the members of the Stark family before the enemy.

No, the bastard of the Bolton family did not cause as much impact as she had hoped, but the person dragged alongside him. Rickon. With ragged clothes and his arms tied, the young man was brought in front of Ramsay's men before the clash of swords. With a knife at the ready, the current and dark 'Protector of the North' proposed a game of life and death to the youngest Stark.

_ Run to your brother. The faster you run, the faster you will see him again.

Hesitantly, Rickon took a few steps, still staring at his kidnapper's actions, and began to run frantically when he saw a bow being delivered to Bolton. In the distance, Jon came across the same understanding and took off with his horse to meet his younger brother. This was also Robb's first move, but Tormund stopped him. He could do nothing to contribute to that not-so-distant situation, not without a horse. The only thing the Young Wolf could do was attract even more attention from his enemies and become a target. When the first arrow was shot by Ramsay, Sansa noticed something strange and almost supernatural happening around her.

She no longer found Diana by her side and could barely make out the Amazon's leap towards the battlefield. The soldiers on both sides were also taken by the feeling of astonishment at the warrior's imperceptible steps, who seemed to be walking on clouds at her speed. Jon realized that something or someone had managed to get ahead of him and projected himself in front of the Stark boy when the first arrow, properly aimed at Rickon's chest, fell from the sky. The Amazon's bracelet repelled the cowardly attack and the youngest of Ned Stark's sons was surprised to be able to breathe once more, still fearing for his own life.

Diana's name died in the throat of the former King of the North when a rain of arrows was fired by the opposing army, aiming to mortally strike the unexpected savior. In a skillful movement, Diana removed the shield from her back and completely covered her traveling companion's two brothers. Jon and Rickon were safe from the first and brutal attack by Ramsay Bolton's forces, but even Hippolyta's daughter would not be able to replicate the impact of all the cavalry that was coming towards them. Ser Davos Seaworth then released the assembled army of northerners and wildlings to protect their leader, while Jon gave up his mount so that Diana could retreat from the middle of the battlefield with her brother safe. As the troops advance, Robb passes Diana without the chance to exchange any kind of word or thank her for the terrifying effort to save his younger brother.

"I will always protect the innocent." That was the promise that the Princess of Themyscira had made to him and fulfilled before his eyes. Now it was up to him to write a second version of his fateful story of mistakes and defeats on and off the battlefield. With terror and blood taking over the fields ahead, Sansa managed to take her eyes off the barbarity just ahead to welcome her brother with a strong and nostalgic hug after so many years.

Rickon was still a little boy when she made the mistake of leaving with her father and being promised to Prince Joffrey for King's Landing. Now, she was looking for a way to ease such sorrow by hugging the young man with the features of her younger brother. That Rickon hardly resembled the boy who cried out for attention from his elders and his parents in the corners of Winterfell. Even though he was injured and visibly terrified, he was there in her arms, but she still didn't know if they would have a place to return to.

For the first time, Diana saw a real war in all its shades: blood, agony, death, violence and horror. Despite her inexperience on the battlefield, she understood combat strategies very well to foresee the trap prepared by the enemy. The northern and wildling forces were being squeezed on three flanks by Ramsay Bolton's army, surrounded and outnumbered, they could do little or nothing.

_ This is not a battle, it is a massacre! – exclaims the horrified Amazon, as she can no longer distinguish the features of her friends within the cordon created by Ramsay's men. However, the desire to run to help her allies is vetoed by Sansa, who seemed to know more than anyone there: not yet.

Sansa's 'not yet' turns into something totally disconcerting when a platoon from nowhere appears with coats of arms and flags of the Vale of Arryn under the command of Lord Petyr Baelish, who does not accompany his men and stops their path right next to Catelyn's daughter. Diana questions the identity of the newcomer. Ally? 'For now'. The brief, whispered answer shows just one more of the issues that Hippolyta's daughter still did not understand in that world: temporary alliances.

Quickly, the Vale troops dismantle the siege and begin to exterminate the Bolton army. With Jon and Robb free from their enemies' clutches, they turn their attention to the cowardly Ramsay, who had been watching the carnage from afar. Upon realizing the enemy's intentions to flee to the safety of Winterfell's walls, the brothers break away from the center of the battle and run after the usurper. Diana understands their plans and also sets off for the castle gates to help retake the Starks' house.

_ Their army has been ruined and we have Winterfell. They don't have the resources for a siege! - Ramsay tries to convince the remaining allies that it is possible to resist, despite the defeat on the battlefield.

Tormund, Jon and Robb join Diana in the vicinity of the castle and are once again covered by the Amazon's shield in the face of a veritable storm of arrows fired by the archers posted on the walls of Winterfell. The Young Wolf then remembers one of the most practiced war moves by the Amazons during their stay in Themyscira. And, if they couldn't invade his family's ancestral castle by land, they could do everything possible to make Diana take it by air.

_ Jon, Tormund... When I tell you, we'll hold and boost the shield, okay? – the two look at the former King of the North confused, but agree with the idea – Diana, now, SHIELD!

The warrior princess quickly understands the indication of her traveling companion and, now, of battle and frees herself from the weight of her shield, supported by the three northern fighters. She takes a few steps, jumps on the shield projected by the trio and overcomes the walls of Winterfell.

Quickly, the arrows begin to thin out and the men of the Vale and the North approach the castle to strengthen the group that would invade the fortress at the first opportunity. The gates are opened with a single, powerful blow and the last soldiers loyal to Ramsay try in vain to contain the dominance of the opposing troops.

When Robb finally tried to get closer to Diana, an arrow stopped him, but he was repelled by the Amazon's bracelets. The bastard of the Bolton family smiled and questioned the identity of that common warrior who was ruining his plans to conquer the North of the Seven Kingdoms. Ramsay shot all the remaining arrows, cursing and swearing at the appearance of the unknown woman who was advancing more and more until she was stopped by the former Commander of the Night's Watch.

_ You suggested a one-on-one fight, didn't you? I've reconsidered. I think it's a wonderful idea! - shouts Ramsay, trying to provoke Jon, who continues to approach dangerously even though he dodges two or three arrows.

With no other protectors, Ramsay receives the first blow from another Snow and is knocked to the ground after a series of punches to his face. Having fallen, he doesn't even bother to try to defend himself and starts laughing insanely, while he continues to receive kicks, punches and kicks from the new holder of Winterfell. Diana watches the scene and, for the first time, doesn't feel any desire to protect the being who was suffering such a violent attack.

And, the only thing that manages to stop Jon's instinct to kill the man in front of him with his own hands is Sansa's call. If anyone really deserved to define the fate or death of Ramsay Bolton, it was his sister. He looks at the young woman, who was back at home and moves away from the invader's almost deformed body. His time would come very, very soon.

The emblems of the cursed House Bolton are removed and burned immediately, while the coats of arms and distinctions of House Stark return to their rightful place. After all, much needs to be done so that the presence of the invaders is exterminated once and for all and Winterfell gradually returns to being the stronghold of the Wolves of the North. Therefore, the first action to restore her own home fell to Sansa.

If the cause of much of the misfortune that befell the Stark family planned to allocate other bodies to ease the hunger of his violent 'pet dogs', the new Lady of Winterfell considered it appropriate to keep the agreement and feed her own animals. And nothing better than the meat of a nobleman, even if born a bastard.

_ My dogs will never hurt me! - Ramsay even believes his own words for a few minutes.

_ They haven't been fed for seven days, you said it yourself. - Sansa is pleased to remember this important detail.

_ They are loyal creatures! - the prisoner shouts for the last time.

_ They were, now they are just hungry. - replies the young Stark - Your words will disappear. Your house will disappear. Your name will disappear. All memory of you will disappear – are the last words spoken by Sansa to the damned bastard before contemplating her annihilation.
