Two beautiful dreams!
(Sequel of the episode 117)
Fran goes upstairs, humming quietly. Before she retires to her bedroom, she checks on the three kids, to make sure if everyone is asleep. In her room, Fran collapses onto the bed. She is incredibly tired and exhausted; the day has been very busy. At the same time, she is extremely happy and content. It was a beautiful wedding and Fran is indeed proud of herself for organizing everything so well, but she is even more prod about the fact that she really managed it to persuade Jocelyn to marry the man she truly loves. She and Lester seemed so happy and she is positive that this marriage will last a long time. Fran's smile grows even wider when she thinks about how Lester promised her at the reception that if he and Jocelyn would ever have a girl, they will name her Francine.
Later, as Fran is getting ready for the night, she remembers her conversation with Mr. Sheffield. They talked about how two people can fall in love any time, regardless of their social status or whether one of them works for the other. Her gaze falls on the bridal bouquet. Oh, it would be so nice if she were actually the next to get married. But Fran no longer believes in this tradition. Otherwise she would have been married long ago. Over the years, she has caught dozens of bridal bouquets in her life. Yet she wanted so much to find the perfect man who would carry her on his hands and with whom she could start a family. Especially since she started working as a nanny for the Sheffields, she often thinks about how nice it would be to have some day children of her own.
That night, Fran has a weird but beautiful dream. In her dream she stands on a gigantic wedding cake in a stunning white wedding gown. Next to her stands her groom, who has strong similarities with a certain British gentleman with black hair. All her loved ones are gathered around them. Her parents and her sister Nadine, Grandma Yetta and many other relatives. Her mother keeps nibbling on a pink icing rose. She also discovers Niles, CC and the kids among the wedding guests. The Rabbi has just declared them as husband and wife. She and her groom glance at each other happily and in love. Then they sink into an endless kiss.
This day had also left its mark on Maxwell Sheffield. After he retreated to his master bedroom and got into bed, he thinks back over the day. He keeps thinking about Miss Fine. He still can't believe that Fran's instinct was right on spot. Last night he had made fun of her. Never in his wildest dream he would have come up with the idea that his sister was actually in love with Lester, her chauffeur. Maxwell can't suppress a grin. Miss Fine really had a feeling for such situations and somehow she always managed to make everything turn out with a happy ending. This morning he secretly had feared that Miss Fine would throw everyone into chaos again, but it had been a successful wedding. He had never seen his sister so happy and cheerful before.
Maxwell feels a little wistful. He remembers his own wedding with Sarah. He's been thinking about it all day. Maxwell reaches for a picture that's on his nightstand. It's their wedding photo. Sarah was a beautiful bride and what plans they had back then. Maxwell sighs, he still misses Sarah especially on days like this. He prays that Jocelyn will be spared of such a fate and that she and Lester will grow old happily united.
That night he has a wonderful dream. In this dream he sees himself and the children happy on the beach. Everyone is having fun and can't stop laughing. Miss Fine is also there with them and two small babies who look strikingly similar. While the three older ones play in the sand with the two little ones, he and Miss Fine lie comfortably cuddled together under a parasol. He has put his arm around her and is stroking her soft skin. She snuggles up to him and scratches his belly. Finally they sink into a loving devoted kiss.
