At Bounty Island…
The ship docked but was soon met by a crazy crab man cussing at them.
"Oi, no need to use such language, especially towards a young lady!" Lasko scolded at the crab below.
"You scum-sucking, treasure-stealing rift rats, get away from my Island before I sick my Crawlies on you!" The Old crab belched out his threats at the crew while Goldy hissed at him, crawling from his captain.
"Easy, Goldy." Isabel sighed then looked at the old crab, "Sorry to tell you this, old crab-."
"Squinty!"
"Huh?"
The old crab then hobbled forward and waved his stick at the girl. Isabel was beginning to think the hermit was senile.
"I be Squinty, the true heir to Captain Gunn's gold! This island is mine! The gold is mine!" He bellowed at her when Lasko decided to get between them.
"You better watch who you wag that stick old man before I show what else it could be used for." Lasko threatened the crab.
"And another thing, 'Squinty'. Man, that's a terrible name… Squinty, unless you lost your marbles, here are some facts. One; this island belongs to no one, Gunn died to leave it to any treasure hunter looking for his gold then there's two; even if it was your island, I don't care. I'm here for more than gold and nothing is getting in my way." The captain of the Golden Scorpions pointed out as the old hermit crab backed away.
"So, shove off you old crab." Bonnie Anne added while the rest of the crew were ready to fight.
He then began to cackle at them.
"What be I worried about? You'll never find it! I've spent years finding it and found nothing and you will do the same! If I were you, I be off my way!" The crab cackled and then hobbled away.
"What an odd creature." Itzen Kaan uttered.
"In Mooshu, we were taught to respect our elders and their vast wisdom… but there are exceptions to the rule." Egg Shen added.
"Was it when they were completely daffy?" Emmet wondered to Egg Shen.
"Captain, maybe we should have some of the crew stay behind just in case he tries anything with the ship." The Marchioness advised while she didn't trust the crab.
"Good idea. Marchioness, Izten, Nanu Nanu, you mind-?"
"We'll keep the ship safe," Izten promised her.
"Good and keep on a lookout for Ratbeard. If he's here, catch him." She ordered the three.
"Yes, Ma'am." Nanu Nanu saluted as did the others.
"Alright guys, let's get that gold." Isabel declared then entered the place where the treasure was hidden.
At the heart of Bounty Island…
It would seem that getting the treasure was not as simple as it sounded for Gunn decided to add a puzzle to his little treasure hunt for pirates.
First started the Mermaid… then the beach to find the rope… then the long search to find a keg… then came the next tricky part was to fill the cannon with powder for the cannonball, pull it up into the air from the ship, and then tied to the end.
"Alright Izzy, what next?" Bonnie wondered while the captain was reading the clue.
"Hmm… okay. I just need to put the Lookingglass into the mermaid's hand and then the path to the treasure would be found." Izzy explained as she did the honor of placing the Lookingglass into the hand of the mermaid.
Then the crew watched as the sun with the looking glass caused the rope to be cut!
"Look out!" Gaspard yelled as the crew got out of the way of the falling cannon, which slammed into the ground of the fallen ship, when was lit by the burning rope and blew a cannonball to the grated area!
"Phew, you would think he wouldn't try something that could potentially kill someone," Emmet muttered as he picked himself up.
"But where's the fun in that?" Bonnie joked as Isabel came to check on her crew.
"Are you all okay?" Izzy wondered.
"We'll be fine, though a little shaken," Gaspard admitted to her.
"The path is open, and riches will be ours." Egg Shen informed the crew.
"And we're one step closer to finding Ratbeard, let's go!" Isabel ordered as the crew rushed into Gunn's secret lair.
Lair of Captain Gunn…
To their shock, not just the skeletal remains of Gunn being seen, but the treasure was gone!
"What!? How!?" Isabel gasped at the sight.
"It's all gone!" Lasko gapped at the sight, "How can anyone beat us here?!"
"Look, Watermole tracks." Emmet showed them but before they could expand further, Squinty came!
"You thieving rat! You dare steal Squinty's gold!?" He howled at his Crawlies came out, "Get them boys!"
The crew was forced to fight as they smashed every Crawlie in the cave! Squinty then was forced to flee with no gold and no vengeance.
"You haven't seen the last of me! I be back for you later!" He declared then fled.
"Still thinks he's daffy…" Emmet sighed, "Now back to our current problem…"
