I do not own the Boy/Girl Battle Series.

Jake POV:

"What do you mean they're dead!?" I yell.

"I'm just saying, if you're looking for them, they're not there. They're dead." The girl replied with a stone face.

"Cam! Lay off them for a sec! They're probably looking for the girls." An older girl yelled. She also had dark skin and hair, the only differences being the older girl was more fit and her eyes were brown instead of green.

The younger girl muttered something in Spanish and rolled her eyes.

"Don't give me that, Cam." The older girl said. She turned to us. "Don't worry about my sister. Hi, I'm Felicia and that's my sister Camilla. What she meant to say was Mr. and Mrs. Malloy died a few years back."

"Jean and George died?" Mom asked, sneaking up behind me. "How'd it happen?"

"Follow me. You'll have to sit down for this." Felicia said.

Before we knew it, we were sitting in the Lasheès living room hearing how Mr and Mrs Malloy died. Two twin girls were sitting too, watching their sisters explain. Apparently they got into a big car crash and died. Mom sat solemnly for a while, hearing the story; letting it process.

Finally she said something. "So the girls are still alive?"

"Alive and as well as they could possibly be." Felicia remarked with a smile.

"In fact, we can take you to them today." Camilla said.

I saw my friends' faces turn confused.

"What?" Wally asked.

"Get in your cars." One twin said.

"We'll take ya." The other added.

Wally POV:

Before we knew it, we were pulling into the driveway of the sign I saw earlier. It was dark out but there seemed to be a great crowd.

"What do you thinks going on?" Jake asked. I noticed a sign.

"Weekly performances in the barn." I read aloud. "Performed by Eddie, Beth, Caroline, and Harley Malloy, James and Logan Honagey, and appearances by Cecilia and Esla Ernoy."

"Oh, that sounds wonderful!" Mom exclaimed.

Josh POV:

Waking in, the lights were dimming and we found seats quickly.

"I'm Selena by the way." Mrs. Lasheè said. "My husband is Nick."

"Shirley, Hal." Mrs. Benson said.

"Ellen and Tom." Mom said. Soon, a song began to play.

"Why howdy folks!" A male voice shouted. The barn went up in cheers.

"That's Logan." Mrs. Lasheè said behind me.

"Who's ready for some boot stomping fun!?" A very recognizable female voice rang out. Eddie. More cheers went up. For the first time, I realized the Lasheè girls weren't here.

"Well, put your hands together for your very own Malloy Farms Performers!" A woman with white hair standing on the floor said into her mic.

"That's Kathy. The girls' grandma." Mrs. Lasheè said.

The song started playing and you could hear Caroline start singing.

Song: Nothing You Can Take From Me (Boot-Stompin' Version) from The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Caroline: You can't take my past

You can't take my history

Logan: You could take my pa

But his name's a mystery

Eddie: Nothin' you can take from me was ever worth keepin'

Beth: Oh, nothin' you can take was ever worth keepin'

[music starts, spotlights appears on Beth and Eddie, who are on the bar top around the barn which also connects to the main stage where Logan, James, and Harley are playing instruments. Caroline is center stage, sitting on the edge of the instrument stage. Beth and Eddie are on opposite sides. Eddie is nearby the Hatfords and Bensons seats.]

Looking over where Eddie was, I noticed she was wearing a white tank top, jean shorts, a red flannel and Nike shoes.

I looked over where Beth was on the other side and saw she was wearing a hot pink softball jersey, black jean shorts and white knee high cowboy boots.

Eddie and Beth had started to skip over people's plates, cups, and whispered sorrys to the people. They met in the middle and jumped off, landed and spun to the stage where Caroline was. Caroline was wearing a plaid shirt, jean shorts and a pair of pink Converse high tops. Her hair was in pigtails.

Eddie and Beth got up the stage and Beth quickly turned around, her loose hair flying behind her.

Beth: Can't take my charm

Eddie turned next.

Eddie: Can't take my humor

Caroline turned and spun during her lines.

Caroline: Can't take my wealth, cause it's just a rumor

"Here," Mrs. Lasheè said, handing me a pamphlet. "All of their performances today's are listed here. Eddie's mainly singing this one cause it's the most in her register."

Eddie: Nothin' you can take was ever worth keepin'

Beth: No, nothin' you can take was ever worth keepin'

[All girls start to walk to center stage]

Caroline: Thinkin' you're so fine

Eddie: Thinkin' you can have mine

Beth: Thinkin' you're in control

The Malloys jumped together, Beth in the middle and her sisters on either side of her.

All: Thinkin' you'll change me, maybe rearrange me, think again if that's your goal!

The girls broke away from each other, spinning once more. The barn erupted in cheers again and you could hear Beth singing the high "oohs" and "ahhs". She stopped and then;

Beth: Can't take my sass!

Caroline: Can't take my talkin'

Caroline sang that with one of her hands opening and closing.

Eddie: You can kiss my a--! Then keep on walkin'!

Jake and I exchanged looks in shock.

Beth: Nothin' you can take from me was ever worth keepin'

Caroline: No, nothin' you can take from me was ever worth keepin'

Eddie: Nothing you can take from me is worth dirt

Beth: Take it cause I give it free, it won't hurt

All: Nothin' you can take was ever worth keepin'

No, nothin' you can take was ever worth keepin'

The girls start to spin again, with Beth singing high notes again. As the song nears its end, Eddie, Beth, and Caroline spin three times before beat ends.

Let's get this party started!!!
