I do not own the Boys vs Girls Series.
Beth POV:
Song: Man! I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain
Beth: Let's go girls/ C'mon
Eddie, Felicia and Camilla walked onto the stage and lined up with me.
Camilla: I'm goin' out tonight, I'm feelin' alright/ Gonna let it all hang out
Felicia: Wanna make some noise, really raise my voice/ Yeah, I wanna scream and shout, uh
Eddie: No inhibitions, make no conditions/ Get a little outta line
Beth: I ain't gonna act politically correct/I only wanna have a good time
All: The best thing about bein' a woman/ Is the prerogative to have a little fun and
We get into a formation where we can easily switch places to sing different parts.
Camilla: Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy,
Felicia steps up and we spin around her. Cam and me set up on the ground on either side.
Felicia: forget I'm a lady
I get up from the ground quickly and show off my outfit I put on before Picture to Burn. It's a lilac sports sweater and a white skirt with white knee high socks.
Beth: Men's shirts, short skirts
Eddie lightly shoves me out of the way to get to center stage.
Eddie: Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin' it in style
All: Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction/Color my hair, do what I dare/ Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel
We pose together, my head on Eddie's shoulder, holding one of Cam's hands, Eddie's other arm leaning on Felicia's shoulder.
All:Man, I feel like a woman (hey!)
We break apart, and Camilla gets off the floor.
Camilla: The girls need a break, tonight we're gonna take
Felicia: The chance to get out on the town
Eddie: We don't need romance, we only wanna dance
Beth: We're gonna let our hair hang down
As I sing, Eddie and Felicia grab their hair ties from their hair and let them fall.
All: The best thing about bein' a woman/ Is the prerogative to have a little fun and
Beth:Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy,
Eddie: forget I'm a lady
Camilla: Men's shirts, short skirts
Felicia: Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin' it in style
All: Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction/ Color my hair, do what I dare/ Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free, yeah, to feel the way I feel
All: Man, I feel like a woman
Recording: Uh, huh/ Oh, yeah/ The best thing about bein' a woman/ Is the prerogative to have a little fun, fun, fun
Eddie and Felicia: Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy, forget I'm a lady
Beth and Camilla: Men's shirts, short skirts
All: Oh, oh, oh, really go wild, yeah, doin' it in style/ Oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction/ Color my hair, do what I dare/ Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free yeah, to feel the way I feel
Recording: (The way I feel)
All: Man, I feel like a woman/ Hey/ Oh, oh, yeah, yeah/ Act totally crazy/ Can you feel it?/ Come, come, come on baby/ I feel like a woman
The song ends and the stage lights go off.
Caroline POV:
"You ready Caro?" Lily asked me as the song was ending.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied. Lily rolls her eyes at my reference and set up behind the table she'll be pushing soon.
"What!" I laugh and then I hear my music start.
Song: 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton
I do a cartwheel onto the stage, but I do not finish it and fall flat onto my butt.
Caroline: Tumble out of bed and I stumble to the kitchen
I pretend to fill a cup of coffee that was sitting on the side of the stage.
Caroline: Pour myself a cup of ambition/ And yawn and stretch and try to come to life
I yawn and stretch my arms. Then I run behind the instrument stage and start my quick change into a waitress uniform.
Caroline: Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin'/ Out on the street, the traffic starts jumpin'/With folks like me on the job from nine to five
On the next beat, Lily and Lana push out the two tables and walk onstage while I emerge from behind the instrument stage.
All: Workin' nine to five, what a way to make a livin'/ Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'/They just use your mind and they never give you credit/ It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
We go around, picking up the plates that were on the tables.
All: Nine to five, for service and devotion/ You would think that I would deserve a fair promotion/ Want to move ahead but the boss won't seem to let me
My cousin Harley comes from the other side to walk past me, slamming me with his shoulder as he walks by.
Caroline: I swear sometimes that man is out to get me
We move to center stage.
Caroline: They let you dream just to watch 'em shatter/You're just a step on the bossman's ladder/ But you've got dreams he'll never take away
We walk down and start heading to the bar.
Caroline: In the same boat with a lot of your friends
I gesture to Lana and Lily.
Caroline:Waitin' for the day your ship'll come in /And the tide's gonna turn an' it's all gonna roll your way
We get behind the bar and Lily and Lana put all the plates in the sink and I jump on top of the bar. There's little planks that if I step on the hard enough, the glasses will go up. I catch them and hand them to Lily and Lana who refill them up. Luckliy most people aren't drinking alcohol right now so we can actually serve them.
All: Working nine to five, what a way to make a livin'/ Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'/ They just use your mind and you never get the credit/ It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
We go right back to the stage and start drifting backstage, singing the rest of the song.
All: Nine to five, yeah, they got you where they want you/ There's a better life and you think about it don't you/ It's a rich man's game no matter what they call it/ And you spend your life puttin' money in his wallet/ Nine to five, what a way to make a livin'/ Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'/ They just use your mind and they never give you credit/ It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it/ Nine to five, yeah, they got you where they want you/ There's a better life and you think about it don't you/ It's a rich man's game no matter what they call it/ And you spend your life puttin' money in his wallet
Wally POV:
I shake my head at the last song thinking, Crazy Caroline. Of course she had to do all that. The next song starts to play and I notice the boys from earlier enter the stage, Eddie and Beth walking on after them.
Song: Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield
Harley: Jessie is a friend/ Yeah, I know, he's been a good friend of mine
James: But lately something's changed that ain't hard to define
Logan: Jessie's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine
I notice the three Malloys standing in the back looking like they're just talking to one another.
All boys:And she's watching him with those eyes/ And she's loving him with that body, I just know it/Yeah, and he's holding her in his arms late, late at night
The Malloys moved up to the boys, first by putting their hand over their eyes on their forehead, and I saw Beth wave her finger around while Eddie and Caroline were trying not to laugh.
All boys:You know, I wish that I had/ Jessie's girl
Suddenly, all three Malloys were being dipped by the boys and then spun around. I heard Jake grumble.
"Who are these guys anyways?" Jake asked, annoyance in his voice. When I looked over at him, I saw that he had a scowl.
All boys: I wish that I had Jessie's girl
"Oh, they're the Malloys cousins," Mrs. Lasheè said.
All boys:Where can I find a woman like that?
"Harvey is the youngest. He's 13. Then there's Logan, he's 14, same grade as Beth. James is the oldest, he's 16." Mrs. Lasheè explained. "The boys recently moved back after..." she trailed off.
James: I'll play along with the charade/ There doesn't seem to be a reason to change
"Anyways, they decided to start this, to keep the girls happy and not become closed off. And I gotta say, it's doing a darn good job." Mr. Lasheè continued. Mrs. Lasheè smiled.
Logan: You know, I feel so dirty when they start talking cute
Harley: I wanna tell her that I love her, but the point is probably moot
All boys: 'Cause she's watching him with those eyes/ And she's loving him with that body, I just know it/ And he's holding her in his arms late, late at night
The girls repeated the choreography from before.
All boys: You know, I wish that I had/ Jessie's girl/ I wish that I had Jessie's girl/ Where can I find a woman like that?/ Like Jessie's girl/ I wish that I had Jessie's girl/ Where can I find a woman-/ Where can I find a woman like that?
After the last 'that', the girls ran off backstage, unbeknownst to the boys.
Eddie POV:
"Remember the plan?" I ask my sisters as soon as we get backstage. Our mics are off until the end of the song so we're good to talk to each other.
My sisters nod. So we venture off. First its Caroline.
We slip off into the area away from sight, behind the bar top surrounding the barn. Caroline slips underneath the velvet curtain seperating the bottom and pull out Sarah Muldeny. We smirk at her and she smirks back. Then we go around to the other side and Beth and I grab Olivia Turner of Beth's grade and Patrica Howard of the grade above me. We all run backstage once more and get ready for the next chorus, all the while ohr cousins are singing.
All boys:And I'm looking in the mirror all the time/ Wonderin' what she don't see in me/I've been funny, I've been cool with the lines/ Ain't that the way love's supposed to be?
We huddle up and hide the other girl behind us walking up to our cousins.
Logan:Tell me,
All boys: where can I find a woman like that?
Our cousins turn, expecting to see us on their side. I giggle at their facial expressions and how they look back at us in shock.
Boys: You know, I wish that I had
Girls: Jessie's girl
Boys: I wish that I had Jessie's girl/ I want Jessie's girl/ Where can I find a woman like that?
Girls: Like Jessie's girl
Boys:I wish that I had Jessie's girl/ I want, I want Jessie's girl
As the song ends, James mouths to me, You are so dead. I roll my eyes and laugh, and run up to my sisters to give them a high five.
The Lasheès file onto the stage as our next song, a joke song, starts.
Song: Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne
Beth's voice as she starts is ridden with giggles.
Beth: Stacy's mom has got it goin' on/ Stacy's mom has got it goin' on/ Stacy's mom has got it goin' on/ Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Eddie: Stacy, can I come over after school? (After school)
I'm laughing as I sing too. In fact, everyone is laughing.
Caroline: We can hang around by the pool (Hang by the pool)
Beth: Did your mom get back from her business trip? (Business trip)
Eddie: Is she there, or is she trying to give me the slip? (Give me the slip)
Malloys: You know, I'm not the little boy that I used to be
"Boy?" Felicia laughs while I nod my head vigorously, which just makes her laugh more.
Beth: I'm all grown up now, baby, can't you see?
Caroline is too busy laughing and Beth lifts up her hands, causing my entire baseball team to stand up and scream the chorus.
Team:Stacy's mom has got it going on/ She's all I want and I've waited for so long/ Stacy, can't you see? You're just not the girl for me/ I know it might be wrong, but I'm in love with Stacy's mom
Camilla puts her head in her hands, her face red.
Beth: Stacy's mom has got it goin' on/ Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Eddie: Stacy, do you remember when I mowed your lawn? (Mowed your lawn)
I start singing to Felicia who playfully pushes me away. No one wanted to sing the next line.
Recording: Your mom came out with just a towel on (Towel on)
Caroline: I could tell she liked me from the way she stared (Way she stared)
Beth: And the way she said, "You missed a spot over there" (Spot over there)
Beth channels her inner Caroline by pointing grandly around the barn.
Recording:And I know that you think it's just a fantasy/ But since your dad walked out, your mom could use a guy like me
"Woo!" Beth shouts, pumping her fist up in the air.
Recording: Stacy's mom has got it going on/She's all I want and I've waited for so long/ Stacy, can't you see? You're just not the girl for me/ I know it might be wrong, but I'm in love with/ Stacy's mom has got it goin' on (She's got it goin' on)/ She's all I want and I've waited for so long (Waited and waited)/ Stacy, can't you see? You're just not the girl for me/ I know it might be wrong, I'm in love with—
Malloys: Stacy's mom, ah-oh-ah-oh (I'm in love with—)/ Stacy's mom, ah-oh-ah-oh (Wait a minute)/ Stacy, can't you see you're just not the girl for me/ I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Stacy's mom!
We instantly fade into our next song.
Song: Mama'a Broken Heart by Miranda Lambert
(just imagine your own choreography for now, I don't want to write that rn)
Lana: I cut my bangs with some rusty kitchen scissors
Camilla: I screamed his name 'til the neighbours called the cops
Felicia: I numbed the pain at the expense of my liver
Lily: Don't know what I did next, all I know, I couldn't stop
Beth:Word got around to the barflies and the Baptists
Caroline: My mama's phone started ringin' off the hook
Eddie: I can hear her now sayin' she ain't gonna have it/ Don't matter how you feel, it only matters how you look
All: Go and fix your makeup girl, it's just a breakup/ Run and hide your crazy and start actin' like a lady/ 'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together/ Even when you fall apart/ But this ain't my mama's broken heart
Caroline: I wish I could be just a little less dramatic/ Like a Kennedy when Camelot went down in flames
Beth: Leave it to me to be holdin' the matches/ When the fire trucks show up and there's nobody else to blame
Lana: Can't get revenge and keep a spotless reputation
Eddie: Sometimes revenge is a choice you gotta make
Felicia: My mama came from a softer generation
Lily: Where you get a grip
Camilla: and bite your lip just to save a little face
All:Go and fix your makeup girl it's just a break-up/ Run and hide your crazy and start actin' like a lady/ 'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together/ Even when you fall apart/ But this ain't my mama's broken heart
Felicia: Powder your nose,
Eddie: paint your toes
Beth: Line your lips
Camilla: and keep 'em closed
Lana: Cross your legs,
Lily: dot your I's
Caroline: And never let 'em see you cry
All: Go and fix your makeup, well it's just a break-up/ Run and hide your crazy and start actin' like a lady/ 'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together/ Even when you fall apart/ But this ain't my mamma's broken heart
Song: Should've Said No by Taylor Swift
Beth: It's strange to think the songs we used to sing/The smiles, the flowers, everything is gone
Camilla: Yesterday I found out about you/Even now just looking at you/ Feels wrong
Lana: You say that you'd take it all back/Given one chance, it was a moment of weakness/ And you said, "Yes"
All three: You should've said, "No"/You should've gone home/You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go/ You should've known that word 'bout what you did with her/Get back to me (get back to me)/And I should've been there/In the back of your mind/I shouldn't be asking myself, "Why?"/You shouldn't be beggin' for forgiveness at my feet/You should've said, "No"/Baby, and you might still have me
Lana:You can see that I've been cryin'/Baby, you know all the right things/To say
Beth:But do you honestly expect me to believe/We could ever be the same?
Camila:You say that the past is the past/ You need one chance, it was a moment of weakness/And you said, "Yes"
All:You should've said, "No"/You should've gone home/You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go/You should've known that word 'bout what you did with her/Get back to me (get back to me)/And I should've been there/In the back of your mind/I shouldn't be asking myself, "Why?"/You shouldn't be beggin' for forgiveness at my feet/You should've said, "No"/Baby, and you might still have me, oh-whoa
Beth:I can't resist
Camilla: Before you go, tell me this
Lana: Was it worth it?
All:Was she worth this?/No, no, no, no, no, no/You should've said, "No"/You should've gone home/You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go/You should've known that word 'bout what you did with her/Get back to me (get back to me)And I should've been there/In the back of your mindI shouldn't be asking myself, "Why?"/You shouldn't be beggin' for forgiveness at my feet/You should've said, "No"/Baby, and you might still have me
3rd Person:
Song: American Pie by Don Mclean
Logan, James and Harley enter back onto the stage. Eddie goes over to the instrument stage, grabs her guitar and goes to sit on the side of the stage. Harley goes over to the piano, Beth picks up her violin and the rest take a spot on the floor.
Logan: A long, long time ago/ I can still remember how that music/Used to make me smile/ And I knew if I had my chance/That I could make those people dance/And maybe they'd be happy for a while
James:But February made me shiver/With every paper I'd deliver/Bad news on the doorstep/I couldn't take one more step
Harley:I can't remember if I cried/When I read about his widowed bride/But something touched me deep inside/The day the music died
All: So, bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry/And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/Singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"
Beth: Did you write the book of love?/And do you have faith in God above/If the Bible tells you so?
Eddie:Now, do you believe in rock 'n' roll?/Can music save your mortal soul?/And can you teach me how to dance real slow?
Caroline: Well, I know that you're in love with him/'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym/You both kicked off your shoes
All:Man, I dig those rhythm and blues
Felicia:I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
Camilla:With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
Lana:But I knew I was out of luck
Lily:The day the music died
All:I started singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry/Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/And singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"
Logan:Now, for ten years we've been on our own/And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone/ But that's not how it used to be
James:When the jester sang for the king and queen/In a coat he borrowed from James Dean/And a voice that came from you and me
Harley:Oh, and while the king was looking down/The jester stole his thorny crown/The courtroom was adjourned/No verdict was returned
Boys: And while Lenin read a book on Marx/The quartet practiced in the park/And we sang dirges in the dark
All: The day the music died/We were singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry/Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/And singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"
Beth:Helter skelter in a summer swelter/The birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eddie:Eight miles high and fallin' fast/ It landed foul on the grass
Caroline: The players tried for a forward pass/With the jester on the sidelines in a cast
Felicia:Now, the halftime air was sweet perfume/While sergeants played a marching tune
Camilla:We all got up to dance/Oh, but we never got the chance
Lana:'Cause the players tried to take the field/The marching band refused to yield
Lily: Do you recall what was revealed/The day the music died?
All: We started singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry/Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/And singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"
Logan: Oh, and there we were all in one place/A generation lost in space/With no time left to start again
James:So, come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick/Jack Flash sat on a candlestick/'Cause fire is the Devil's only friend
Harley:Oh, and as I watched him on the stage/My hands were clenched in fists of rage/No angel born in Hell/Could break that Satan spell
Boys:And as the flames climbed high into the night/To light the sacrificial rite/I saw Satan laughing with delight
All:The day the music died/He was singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry/Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/And singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"
Logan:I met a girl who sang the blues/And I asked her for some happy news/But she just smiled and turned away
James:I went down to the sacred store/Where I'd heard the music years before/But the man there said the music wouldn't play
Harley:And in the streets, the children screamed/The lovers cried and the poets dreamed/But not a word was spoken/The church bells all were broken
Boys: And the three men I admire most/The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost/They caught the last train for the coast/The day the music died
Everyone:And they were singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry/And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/Singin', "This'll be the day that I die/This'll be the day that I die"/They were singin', bye-bye, Miss American Pie/Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry/Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye/Singin', "This'll be the day that I die"
And the song ended.
Finally I finish this chapter! Lol I do not like making suuuuuuuuper loooooong chapters bc I feel like they just drag( and they take too long to update)
