Bittersweet Vengeance-Ch 38
By the time Fran's car pulled up at the ER entrance Penelope's OB and several nurses and orderlies were waiting with a gurney, they helpedher out of the car and onto the gurney and as they started inside Derek's truck slid to a stop, he jumped out and ran to her calling her name.
She held up her hand and said, "I'm scared handsome, the baby's early", her OB Kelsey said, "only a couple of weeks and as I told you at your last visit everything was going great with the baby and that you could go into labor at any time?", she nodded her head and said, "true", Kelsey looked at Penelope and said, "how close are the contractions?", Penelope said, "about 5 minutes apart".
Kelsey said, "alright, let's get you to a room and get you checked out to see just how far you're dilated", Derek said, "are you ready to meet our son or daughter?", she said, "ohhhh I'm so ready handsome, so so ready", Kelsey looked at the family and said, "you can all wait right over there" as she pointed to the maternity waiting room.
Derek said, "when the baby arrives I'll let you know", they all smiled and nodded their heads as they watched her and Derek disappear out of sight around the corner, they then started walking over to the waiting room when Hotch's cell started ringing.
He took it from his belt and said, "I've got to take this", he then walked across the hall and said, "Hotchner", the team watched him as he continued talking for several minutes before ending the call and making his way back over to them, Dave said, "is something wrong?", he said, "that was the prosecutor in Sam and Savannah's cases, they want Penelope and Derek to testify tomorrow".
Fran said, "did you tell them that she's in labor and that her traveling wasn't possible?", he said, "I did and the prosecutor said that he'd inform the judge and that they would be in contact with me again very soon", JJ said, "hopefully the delivery will be easy on her, especially after what she's been through", Emily nodded her head yes in agreement and then smiled at JJ.
Meanwhile in her delivery suite Kelsey said, "well Penelope you are fully dilated and I can see the babies head", she looked at Derek and said, "did you hear that?", he said, "I did sweetness, I did", Penelope and Derek then watched as she was hooked up to a fetal monitor.
Kelsey said, "with you already being fully dilated it's too late for your epidural", Penelope said, "that' s okay, natural is better for the baby anyway, right?", Kelsey said, "that's true but we want you as comfortable as possible", Penelope nodded her head and said, "I appreciate that butttttttttttttt" as another contraction hit.
Kelsey looked under the sheet and said, "alright Penelope on the next contraction I need you to push", Penelope said, "okay", she looked up at Derek and said, "I love you", he kissed her lips and said, "I love you baby girl", it was only a few seconds later when another contraction hit and Kelsey said, "pushhhhhh".
Several pushes later Penelope collapsed against her pillows at the cries of baby Morgan filled the room, Kelsey cut the cord and cleaned off the babies face an body a little and then held it up and said, "congratulations mommy and daddy it's a boy", Penelope said, "a son, we have a son".
Derek said, "and he's beautiful", Penelope said, "well of course he is he looks like his daddy, he's a chocolate chip off the old block", Derek smiled and kissed her lips gently and said, "look at what we did baby girl", she said, "our son", Kelsey said, "I'll let you hold him for a minute while I get you sewed up", she nodded her head yes and smiled as she held their son close to her chest.
Derek pulled out his cell and snapped several pictures and sent them to the team with the heading, "WELCOME TO THE WORLD BABY BOY MORGAN", it was only a matter of a few seconds before congratulations were sent by the team, it took a couple of minutes before Sarah and Desi sent a text that said, "CONGRATS HE'S GORGEOUS",
When she was finished Kelsey said, "okay Penelope we need to take him, get him cleaned off, weighed and measured but don't worry you'll be here in recovery with us for a little while and then when we get you in your room they will bring him in to you".
She smiled and said, "thank you Kelsey", she said, "you're welcome honey", Derek said, "Kelsey can I stay with her in recovery?", she said, "we usually don't allow that", he said, "we haven't decided on a name yet", she said, "in that case, yes, yes you can", Penelope smiled down at the baby, both her and Derek kissed the top of their sons head before the nurse walked over and was handed the baby.
When they were alone in recovery Derek said, "so what about names?", she smiled and said, :"I have the perfect name", eh said, "you do?", she said, "I do", he leaned over and she whispered it into his ear, he smiled and said, "it's perfect", she sighed happily as she relaxed against the pillows and said, "I think so too handsome, I think so too".
