Bittersweet Vengeance-Ch 9

It had been a couple of weeks since she moved to Virginia and Savannah was all smiles as she walked into the hospital, it was her first day of work and she was looking forward to seeing where her life would take her but she not so secretly hoped that she would get to see Derek and soon, she had missed him, it felt like forever since she'd seen him.

As she sat in her office working on paperwork her mind flashed back to the many sessions in which she'd had to use hypnosis on Penelope and she was oh so thankful that between it and the drugs that Penelope was finally Sams and now that she was pregnant Savannah figured she had smooth sailing ahead.

She had been in town almost a month now and so far she hadn't seen hide or hair of Derek or his team, she scoffed and said, "they must still be looking for Penelope, she laughed and said, "fool;s, she'll be here soon enough and when she does, it's gonna shatter all of your worlds, especially yours Derek".

Savannah was pulled from her thoughts when she was paged to the ER, she got up and quickly made her way there and when she saw the sexy man she'd been missing her heart started racing, she bit down on her bottom lip and made her way over to the injured man on the gurney, she said, "Derek what happened?", he said, "it's nothing, more like a graze" as he held out his arm.

She said, "let's get this cleaned and bandaged up", he nodded his head yes as he held out his arm to her again, she tried to hide how happy she was at seeing Derek again and so far it was working and thankfully he was the first to speak when he said, "so how long have you been back in town?", she said, "ohhh it's been a few weeks".

He smiled and said, "it's good to see you again, how have you been?", she said, "I'm good, I've been busy but you know what they say there's no place like home", he nodded his head yes and said, "very true, very true", as she cleaned his arm she said, "so how are you doing?", he said, "me, I'm okay I guess".

She could tell that he was far from okay and she said, "really, because you don't look so okay, what's wrong?"., he said, "trust me when I say you don't want to know", she said, "if I didn't want to know I wouldn't have asked", he blew out a deep breath and then started filling her in on what had happened.

Savannah said, "oh I'm so sorry Derek", he said, "thanks", she said, "so you have no idea what happened to her?", he shook his head and said, "nothing, not a word but when I find out who took her away from me, from us they are gonna pay for it big time", Savannah swallowed hard and said, "I don't blame you there".

Derek looked at Savannah and said, "she's the love of my life, I was going to propose to her when we got back from the case we were on when she was taken but sadly I never got that chance", her heart broke for him, she could tell that he was devastated and she would be right by his side working with him to put the pieces of his heart back together again.

When she had his arm cleaned and dressed she said, "I'll give you a script for some antibiotics just in case, so take these and if you have any problems, please just let me know", he smiled at her and said, "thanks Savannah, you're a real friend", hearing him say those words almost broke her heart.

She hid it well though and smiled and said, "I'm here for you Derek", "he said, "thanks, I appreciate that", she then stood there smiling at him as she watched him walk away, she bit down on her bottom lip and said, "you're going to pay for that friend comment when she comes back, it's going to give me great pleasure to see the light leave your eyes".

Savannah then turned around and walked back toward her office to get caught up on paperwork so that she could head out for a drink, after hearing the man she loved call her a friend she needed a drink and the sooner the better.

When Derek walked out into the waiting room his team stood up and made their way to him, he held out his arm and said, "it's okay, Savannah cleaned it up for me", Reid said, "Savannah?", Derek said, "yeah, she's back now", Emily said, "soooooooo how about we all head out for a few drinks before we head home?", everybody nodded their heads yes and Derek said, "yes pleaseeeeee" as they left the ER and headed toward their waiting SUV's.
