The following day

Mindy and Jasmine, Alexis's roommates, were in disbelief that she lost to a pair of Slifer Reds.

Class had ended and they were standing on the side of the courtyard.

"Alexis is the best duelist among the freshmen Obelisk." Jasmine declared. "There's no way she could lose to a Slifer, let alone two of them."

"I know." Mindy nodded. "From how it was described, Lexi totally had Perry on the ropes and we saw as much with that duel she had with Jaden last night." She was referring to a duel that would led to Jaden and Syrus being expelled had they actually lost, apparently it was over some love letter. "Clearly, both were just flukes."

"I think the two of us need to teach them a lesson they won't soon forget." Jasmine stated.

They began putting a plan into motion.

Class proceeded as normal.

That evening

Mindy and Jasmine whispered to each other.

Later that evening

Jaden and Syrus were in the cafeteria. Perry, on the other hand, stared down from the second floor. He was taking note of the difference between Alexis and Chazz's decks.

Their PDA's go off at the same time.

"Jaden & Perry, your wins against Alexis were nothing but flukes." Jasmine declared firmly. "Mindy and I will prove it. The two of us will be at the beach waiting for you to arrive."

Upon receiving the message, Jaden was actually excited. "Sounds like a duel."

Syrus wasn't as sure. "I don't like this."

"Come on, Sy, where's your enthusiasm?" Jaden asked his roommate.

Syrus gave a weak, "Go team."

With Perry

'I don't recall either of them dueling much and in the anime, it was mostly off-screen. Perhaps in the manga? No, they didn't even appear there.'

Regardless, he began heading towards the beach.

He and Jaden arrived shortly and found Jasmine and Mindy, both of their duel disks at the ready.

"You made it." Jasmine remarked.

"No way I'd miss this." Jaden smiled.

"We're doing this for Alexis." Mindy countered.

She and Jasmine were convinced their victories were a fluke.

"How do you want to go about this? 2 on 1 or 1 on 1 in different areas?" Perry asked.

"I'll take you both on first." Mindy stepped forward.

She was eager to prove they shouldn't have won their duels.

Jaden was up for it since he was going to duel.

Perry on the other hand, had doubts.

"Are you sure about this?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

'Have they acquired strong cards.' He thought.

Jaden and Perry got ready to duel.

"Duel!"

Jaden: 4000

Perry: 4000

Mindy: 4000

"I'll begin." Mindy drew a card. "With Mad Dog of Darkness." (4/1900/1400)

'Mad Dog of Darkness. That's in one of her game decks.' Perry thought. 'She's pulling out all the stops.'

He knew this wasn't going to be easy, but it would be easier than facing Alexis or Chazz.

"Here goes." Jaden drew for his turn. "I summon Elemental Hero Solid Soldier which causes it's effect to activate." (4/1300/1100)

He placed another monster on his duel disk.

"Meet Elemental Hero Lady Heat." (4/1300/1000)

"I'll place a card face down and end my turn which activates Lady Heat's effect."

Mindy: 7600

"Well then, it's my turn." Perry drew a card which happened to be Red-Eyes Fusion.

"I activate the spell card Red-Eyes Fusion." Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Dark Magician were removed from his deck and placed into the graveyard.

"Time for me to bring out a monster I tried to summon against Alexis. Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon." (8/3000/2500)

"And now for one of it's effects. Twice a turn, it can destroy a monster on the field and deal damage equal to it's original attack." Mad Dog of Darkness was caught in a explosion.

Mindy: 5700

"That's all I have for now." Perry ended his turn.

"The duel just started and they weren't able to attack, but they reduced a good amount of Mindy's life points." Syrus commented.

Jasmine confidently thought that was the only thing they would be able to do.

She wouldn't think that for long though.

"Back to me." Mindy started her turn. "I bring out D.D Warrior in attack mode." (4/1200/1000)

"I'll have it attack Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon." D.D Warrior lunged at the fusion monster.

'That's stupid.' Perry thought before his eyes widened. 'Unless...'

He shook his head.

"You still have a lot to learn."

"Pardon?" Mindy raised a eyebrow.

"Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon has more than one special ability. Once per turn, I can discard a card to negate the activation of a card or effect and destroy it, then Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon gains 1000 attack."

After D.D Warrior attacked and tried to banish Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, it was destroyed.

Mindy looked at her hand for a possible way out.

'There's Mirror Force. But it will just be negated and destroyed.' She thought. 'No matter what happens, I'll lose the duel.'

"I'll just end my turn." She sighed.

"I use Necro Fusion to merge Solid Soldier and Lady Heat to make Elemental Hero Nova Master!" (8/2600/2100)

"Here goes." Jaden drew a card.

"Nova Master will attack you directly."

Mindy: 3100

"I'll throw down a face down and call it a turn."

"Then I'll make the final move." Perry drew.

"Finish off her life points."

Mindy: 0

"You tried your best." He tried to cheer her up.

Mindy got to her feet.

Jasmine was dismayed upon her friend's defeat.

'I'll just have to try a lot harder.' She thought.
