Thank you all so much for 500 reviews!

I would've linked the girls' dresses but I honestly don't know how. I tried to link things for my other stories and it never works, not even in my bio. Also, I wrote these chapters back in January so these links are gone in terms of my internet history.

Welcome back to Selfie's weekly Saturday updates!

Ad-Jacin-t to You: Part Two

The school hallways were littered with posters all over the walls. Posters of couples in the shadows in each other's arms, dancing the night away. Against the dark setting were the gold font saying the time and place, a reminder to buy tickets, and that there will be a vote for the Star King and/or Queen, plural. Early votes will be in the cafeteria at all lunch hours.

"You know," Kai says as he and Wolf stand outside Thorne's locker while he puts his jacket away, "nobody really votes in advance for those things. Most of it will happen the night of."

"What?" Wolf asks dramatically. "You mean a small school poll that means nothing in the grand scheme of things isn't like a city election?"

Kai narrows his eyes at him. "Basically. This is more for Thorne's sake and pride."

"Thorne isn't even listening to us."

Thorne slams his locker shut where a poster for the dance is taped. He tears it off and stares at the words Star King in its glittery gold cursive font. He nearly crumples the sheet until Wolf tapes it back on his locker.

"If Jacin shows up in his military suit, he'll take my title away from me," Thorne says.

Kai and Wolf can't argue. The moment people, mostly girls, see Cadet Jacin Clay walk into the dance in a sharp military uniform with badges on the chest with a beautiful Winter Hayle-Blackburn in a ballgown, that's who will be the next Star King and Queen. They will be the power couple of the night. It feels like everyone else already lost.

"I think my old Andromeda Academy uniform is in the attic," Thorne mutters. "It won't fit since I had my growth spurt."

"This is your growth spurt?" Wolf asks, grinning down at Thorne who's glaring up at him. It's not that Thorne is short. Compared to most boys his age, he's tall. He's four inches shorter than Wolf. "If you wear that boyish uniform to the dance, then I swear to the stars that you have my vote."

"Same," Kai states.

For a solid minute, Thorne considered it. He thought about it since he knows Cress would swoon over Jacin in his uniform, as would most of the school. But there's one reason, aside from the sizing, that would stop him.

"I don't want to match Jacin," Thorne says as they start heading to class.

"You technically won't be matching since he has medals," Kai points out. Wolf laughs beside them. Ex-Cadet Carswell Thorne.

"Oh, spades, now Jacin will definitely win since they'll think he serves his country."

"He expected to go to the military so, in a sense, he is."

"Well, spades to that too. I'll figure something out. What about you two?"

"I have a suit," Kai says.

"I need a jacket," Wolf adds. He's about to ask Thorne and Kai if they have an extra since they're rich and have many suits because of their expensive lives but stops himself because they're smaller than him.

After school, Wolf followed Scarlet into her bedroom, taking a seat on the edge of her bed as she pulls out an unopened package from underneath her bed. He looks at it curiously, especially since Scarlet's smile stretches across her face.

"What's that?" Wolf asks.

"Wait," Scarlet responds.

Scarlet takes her package and runs out of her room. Wolf shrugs and waits. He scrolls through messages on his phone, smirking at messages of Thorne complaining about his prepubescent, badge-less cadet uniform. It reminds Wolf that he has to find a suit, or at least a place to rent one. He starts searching for the closest location but stops when he sees Scarlet walk back in and he immediately puts his phone away.

He's about to say something but all the words disappear from his brain. No longer in her school uniform, Scarlet changed into a tight navy blue, mid-thigh, long-sleeve dress. It has a plunging neckline that stops right before it'd be deemed as scandalous by the school, showing a little but not a lot since it's covered with a mesh lining. Her curls, freckles, and curves pop out and Wolf's in love. Her smile is still as radiant as ever, especially with his stunned and aroused expression.

"Wow, babe," Wolf mutters as she walks up to him. "Is that for the dance?"

"It is," Scarlet responds, twisting her hips so she (and he) could see it from every angle. "Came yesterday."

"You didn't want to surprise me when I would pick you up?"

Scarlet shrugs. "I just want to know if you'd like it. I mean, I do and I would wear it anyways but I want your opinion."

"Babe, you make the tacky school uniform sexy."

Scarlet nudges him and Wolf holds her by the hips. He didn't expect the dress to be velvet but, stars, does he love it. Wolf pulls her closer to him and she leans against him.

"If you told me you were going to wear this," Wolf whispers, "I would've said yes to the dance instantly."

"You wouldn't be able to say a thing if you saw this dress days ago."

A small laugh escapes his mouth as he kisses her. Scarlet smiles, trying to resist but only giving in for a few kisses, before his hands start exploring the velvet dress.

"We'll continue this at the dance," she says, backing away with a grin.

"You think I can wait that long?"

Scarlet kisses him one last time before rushing out to change.

After their shifts at their respective jobs, Kai picked up Cinder (since Winter took their car) and they were both on the road heading somewhere to grab a bite to eat for dinner. Traffic wasn't looking great in either direction so they didn't know where to go. Chances are they'd end up at The Rampion which would work since the twins keep texting Kai from their mom's phone asking him to bring home fries.

"What do you wanna do after the dance?" Cinder asks, putting her phone down after looking through social media while waiting at a red light.

Kai shrugs. "You didn't want to go so would you rather stay the whole time or check out an after-party? I got invited to a few."

"So did I and screw them. Let's just hang out. Just us."

"I'm with you on that. Any ideas?"

"We could go back to your place. Winter and Jacin will be at mine." Cinder turns in the passenger's seat. Kai's already started driving since the light changed. "And I mean your place, not Torin's."

Kai nods, not looking at her. "I didn't think we'd visit the twins anyways." He grins a little. "What were you thinking?"

"So it's been on my mind for a while and I personally think I'm ready but I wanted to ask you, obviously." She takes a breath as Kai nods. "Regarding the next step in our relationship-"

"Yes," Kai interrupts.

Cinder pauses, not expecting a sudden and urgent response. She smiles. "Really?"

"Really. Okay, I didn't mean to sound so eager - not that I'm not eager but I - I'm digging myself into a hole and turning this next corner because we're going to The Rampion."

Cinder laughs as Kai makes the turn. "Oh my stars, I love you so much."

"It's been on my mind too, believe me - aces, I'm now sounding like a creep. Can I call a wire cutters on this one?"

"Nothing's happening."

"It's because I'm driving that I'm not talking straight."

"Sure, Kai, sure."

"I swear on the stars."

Cinder stops him by putting a hand on his leg. "I already said I love you. So much. You don't need to make this worse."

Kai scoffs. "Please, I already did."

"I could take it back."

"No, no, no." Kai glances at her and she's testing him with a crinkle in between her brows. "Now whatever I say now will make me sound desperate."

"Kinda giving that vibe already."

"Whatever. You still asked to sleep with this." He takes her hand that's on his leg and kisses it. "And you asked first."

"Aces, Kai…"

And the next update, our school dance, will start next week!
