"Now let's see what I can dig up." Futaba Sakura taps away on her keyboard, setting up her various tools, as she prepares for her next hack. She peers around her screen, checking the status of any would-be customers in her gaming lounge.
There is only one person here today due to midterms around the city, a thirteen year old she had met a week earlier by the name of Megumi who had just moved to town. The girl is focused on playing some old RPG that the hacker loved to play, while also having an episode of Feather Man Victory running.
Smirking to herself, the black haired woman's fingers fly across the keyboard as she begins her hack. Futaba just wanted to know as much as she could about this new apparent Persona user and those associated with her. The woman's heart races with excitement as she begins with standard government records. The excitement slowly dies to disappointment, as the records aren't anything too impressive, outside a move to Canada.
"That's one lead I can chase down." She mutters, pushing her glasses up as she quickly disconnects from the Japanese government server, attacking one of the Canadian servers straight away.
The Canadian server was more of a challenge, having to break through a few firewalls, but she eventually sneaks through. A grin tugs at the edge of her lips, finding the most recent school records from there, "Her grades seem pretty normal, but why is a nineteen year old in high…" She stops talking as a buggy mess appears on screen, trying to clean it up while also reading the school notes on the situation.
"So she's repeating a year because of her school's own idiocy. I wonder if they even let her graduate." The woman mutters, making quick copies of this information for her own records. Quickly absconding away from the Canadian servers, the black haired woman decides to focus more locally.
So time to hack Orimasu high school and see what I can discover there. The woman thinks as begins her strike. She had always wanted to try her hand to hack the school, but never had a reason, but now is the time.
She slips into one of the systems of the school, going through various minor systems as she starts to access the student registry, but the screen begins to warp. "What? Someone's detected me? Oh this is going to be fun!" Futaba quickly counters whoever is stopping her by diverging into the computer systems used by the teachers, feeling elated at being tested.
Whoever this is, they were good, but she was confident they weren't as good as she was. Futaba's eyes dart from screen to screen, heartbeat increasing as she evades her pursuer into another system, but finds that the route she wanted is blocked. It didn't matter, she was collecting small bits of information, but it was unclear what kind is what.
Hacking her way through the other route, the woman finds herself within the botany club's server, frantically setting up some counter measures for her opponent. With all the little bombs set, Futaba gulps as she jumps back into the administration server, nervous things wouldn't go as planned.
Sitting at her desk, Fuuka is grading some of the midterms while checking on emails, looking at a few of the files from the micro SD card that Mitsuru had passed Leiko to give to her. Her screen flickers and freezes for a moment, making Fuuka check her systems.
"Increased network traffic…" She utters fearing something is off. Starting up her own hacking tools, the teal haired woman is able to sniff out unusual packs of data. "Time to drive whoever it is out of the system."
She begins her attack, sending packets to disrupt this hacker, determination is a light in her eyes. Keeping herself calm, she follows the trail of this person through the school's systems. The hacker is staying one step ahead of her, but that didn't deter the teacher. She throws up several little false data packets through the network, hoping it would attract the hackers attention.
She quickly types as she scans the screen with quiet intensity, shutting down access to one system, which leaves the only route open to a system of one of the clubs. "I just hope whichever club it is won't be mad if they lose anything." She whispers in a worried tone, as she summons Juno to help her, "Let's see about tracking this hacker back to its source."
She jumps into the photography club's server, only to have her speed drop, "Oh darn it!" She cries out in panicked surprise, countering whatever this little packet bomb with her own. Summoning Juno to assist her, Fuuka senses the flow of information heading out into town.
"Almost there." Fuuka breathes out as she deals with the counter attack, following into the admin server. She starts typing as fast as she can, feeling like she has to protect the information of her students and the school at any costs. She and the hacker go at it, taking information back and forth with move and counter move, but with Juno's help, she is getting closer to their uninvited guest.
"Just a few more moments Juno and we got them." The woman answers as she types in a complex packet attack.
"Ms. Sakura, the TV is acting all weird! I think something is interfering with the lines!" Megumi calls from her bean bag chair in the main lounge.
"Be right there!" Futaba calls out, cringing at the fact she has to pull such a novice move. She pulls the internet cord from the device, shutting down her hack. She didn't know what she had gotten, but it was probably enough.
Leaving her desk, Futaba quickly strides over to Megumi to help her. In the back of her mind, Futaba is excited to have met such a worthy match in that hacker. Maybe there is hope she could go up against them in the future. For now, checking what information she has gotten can wait until the lounge has closed.
"Almost had them." Fuuka leans back in disappointment at losing the hacker, but she did drive them off, so there was a win there. She couldn't help but beam, happy that her hacking skills hadn't rusted at all. Next time that hacker showed their IP, they would get them for sure.
The feeling is fleeting as she returns to her screen to see exactly what the hacker took for information. This was going to be a long afternoon of damage control.
A/N: I really had no idea on how to do characters hacking, so I took a shot in the dark with a few of my friends advice. Hopefully I did Futaba and Fuuka justice in concerns to this.
