(Episode 5: Dark Scorpions' Downfall: Part 1)
It would not only be the start of Summer but also the start of Francis and Oda teaming up with Seryu to take out what she had found to be the main force that had helped her former mentor keep a foothold on Fallujah's underground. Which was the Dark Scorpions crime syndicate, a group of bandits turned into one of the Imperium's most formidable cartels', and part of the reason for why Ogre was able to make sure he was the 'king of the city'...alongside the corrupt officers siding with him.
As such the duo or rather trio at the moment had gone at this in full effect, in deciding to make sure to strike and strike with maximum efficiency; knowing they had a lot of work to do, and as such couldn't afford to go 'soft' in any capacity in regards to them.
(June 13th, 1176 I.E, Western Carnifex Imperium, Fallujah, 6:45 Pm)
It would be a quarter till 7 in the evening as our trio were hitting another one of the Dark Scorpion's hideouts, with them gearing up and making sure that they were prepped and ready before conducting their raid on said hideout.
"Is everyone ready?!" Seryu asked her companions
"We're ready when you are, Miss Seryu." Francis said having his Obsidian Knuckles ready to go
"Say the word, Officer, and we can begin on your mark." Oda Nobunaga replied
"Then let's get started…Koro, open the door." Seryu ordered to her dog that let out a bark of excitable bloodthirst
All before turning into its behemoth form and proceeding to break down the front entrance like it was made of saltine crackers, as the massive dog-like Imperial Arms proceeded to tear through the premise with impunity. It was immediately after the door was turned to splinters; that Francis, Oda, and Seryu following close behind as the members of the Dark Scorpion syndicate were currently trying to fend off Koro who was biting, pummeling, and or mauling anything they could get their hands on as limbs, blood and shredded bone were flying from within the area.
All the while Oda was already at work taking cover to snipe at any that tried to flee, either incapacitating them by shooting their legs out from under them, shooting them in their elbows and wrists, or outright terminating them with a headshot, shot to the spine, or lungs. Meanwhile, Francis and Seryu were proceeding to rip shit up in melee of anyone who was unlucky enough to be in their crosshairs, between Francis's brute strength rupturing innards on contact and decapitiating them with uppercuts, or Seryu proceeding to speed-blitz them and crack skulls and bones with her tonfas.
Hence why the trio was able to make it through the 1st wave of goons rather easily; they nonetheless had to remain prudent of the place being booby-trapped, given how if it weren't for Koro being as massive as he was, and or durable to boot. Then the trio would have fallen into a pit of spikes, been crushed by a what looked like a giant spiked cinderblocks of steel and stone that was punched out of the air by Koro and Francis, or the hail of metal darts that Koro was able to block before Francis raised a barricade to deflect the rest.
And even still amongst the traps and oncoming scores of Dark Scorpion cartel members that attempted to flee the scene or hold out against their forces; that the trio in tow with Koro were not only able to clear through the opposition; but do so with relative ease. So much so that they were able to split up and take either of side of the hideout with an almost disgusting amount of efficiency, given how on one end Seryu was able to use her great agility and proficiency with her tonfas in tandem with Koro's overwhelming bulk to rampage and ravage anyone in their way.
All the while as the policewoman and her massive dog-like Imperial arms were ravaging the cretins that tried to escape, Francis and Oda were putting on a masterclass against anyone in their way as they worked in unison to devastate/incapitate anyone in their way. Wherein Oda would provide suppressive and cover-fire for Francis as he used his Obsidian Knuckles to plow through anything in sight, using his superhuman strength and flight to quickly and brutally crush any Dark Scorpion member in sight.
Meanwhile, Francis would use the power of his density control to not only provide Oda with cover to snipe enemies from, as well as launch sneak attacks with her katana via his barricades; but also use the dense nature of his Obsidian Knuckles to help Oda land trick-shots off the armor-like carapace onto targets that couldn't be normally reached. Hence why alongside him launching fragments of dense obsidian-like makeshift grenades, to further blow away the Dark Scorpion goons left nothing but destruction in their wake.
What with both parties continuing their rampage of the hideout until they met on the uppermost floor, in search of their quarry, with Seryu being the 1st to kick down the door in hopes of finally cornering their target in Chick the Yellow; one of Don Zoolog's lieutenants'. Only to her dismay and anger to find the play barren, with the only sign he was even here being a left open secret passageway under the desk; that led to a tunnel that was who knows how deep.
"...Did you get 'em, Miss Seryu?!" Francis asked as he alongside Oda flew towards Seryu and a de-transformed Koro
"No, it seems as though he got away before we could get to him in time…I really thought we had him this time." Seryu cursed
"Hey, we're gonna get this guy, his 'friends' and his boss too. Besides, we are still making pretty great progress as a plus, we've taken out 6 of his hideouts in the span of a week. So that has to count for something." Francis told her
"I know…I just really want to get rid of the Dark Scorpions...I have to make things right for my home, Francis. The city deserves better after what Captain Ogre failed to do for it…I just have too." Seryu spoke determination brimming in her voice
"Don't worry, we'll get these guys soon enough. All we gotta do is be patient and keep the pressure going…we do that, and everything comes out our way soon enough." Francis replied putting a hand on the shooter womans' shoulder
"I hope you're right…In the meantime, Miss. Oda, would you mind taking Koro with you to investigate the the room overall.? Maybe Chick left some clues about where his main hideout is." Seryu requested
"I don't see why not, Office Ubiquitous…Come along Koro." Oda Nobunaga said as Koro barked before hopping atop her head as the two began to look around
"By the way, Miss. Seryu…I do have to ask what your next move is going to be; once we get this Dark Scorpion business figured out?" Francis asked the brunette in question
"I can't really say for certain what it will be…All I do know, is that I am going to bring justice to Fallujah, and one day the Empire itself." Seryu answered back with resolve shining in her eyes
"If anyone can do it, it's definitely you…Out of all the people I've seen around the Empire so far, you are legitimately the only one who I respect for doing the right thing. So keep your chin up, Miss Seryu, because I know your gonna do great things in the Empire…I can just feel it in my bones." Francis said to Seryu who couldn't help but smile at his words of encouragement

"That means a lot to me, Mr. Holyfield. Thank you, and thanks again for both you and your friend for helping me bring down the Dark Scorpions." Seryu replied her heart warmed at Francis continuing to go above and beyond for her
"Not a problem at all. Miss. Seryu. Not a problem at all…Now come on, we've got a secret tunnel to explore, and clues to gather up." Were Francis only words as he began to fly down the secret tunnel that Chick used to escape down
(4 days later, Seryu's House, Downtown Fallujah, 4:10 Pm, June 17th, 1176 I:E)
Meanwhile, a few more days would pass as Francis, Oda and Seryu were at the latters' house after going through another raid on one of Chicks' hideouts, that in tandem with Francis and Oda's flight capabilities had managed to finally find the Dark Scorpion Lieutenants' main hidey-hole.
"The fact that you two are capable of flying across the city is incredible! It makes reconnaissance so much easier." Seryu said still fascinated over their abilities of flight
"It is pretty cool…If you want, I can take you for a fly-by of the city after we get this Dark Scorpion business taken care of." Francis offered to the brunette policewoman
"That sounds awesome! I would love too!" Seryu replied excited to see the city she protected from a bird's eye view
"Trust me, it is something else when you are up high getting to see things…Really does put into perspective; that things are a lot bigger than what they really are." Francis said back never getting tired of looking at things from on high when he flew
"I have to agree, it is incredibly liberating to see things from a bird's eye view. Honestly, it's damn-near enviable for people to not experience what we get to see when we can fly." Oda Nobunaga spoke up
"I'll agree with you on that, Oda! So trust me when I say that you've got my word, that once this is all over. You'll get a 1st-class experience seeing what the world looks like from on high! I guarantee that much, Miss. Seryu." Francis promised to the brunette policewoman
"And I can't wait to see what it looks like, Francis…But we have to focus on making sure that the Dark Scorpions are terminated first and foremost. That takes precedence above all else!" Seryu said in shaking herself out of her imagination running on the thoughts of seeing her home from said viewpoint
"Now then, Mr. Holyfield, Miss Oda…Tell me what have you found regarding the locations of their main hideouts?' Seryu requested as Francis nodded before pulling out his World Map for all too see
"For starters, with all of the recon we did. We isolated where there main hideouts are at…Granted it was a lot more difficult than what I figured. Since this place feels a lot bigger than what imagined while we were flying overhead. But after we did our tracking them across the town these past couple days, we isolated their locations to these points." Francis spoke after zooming his World Map into Fallujah where he had marked the waypoints of the Dark Scorpions hideouts
"Chick is surprisingly enough 4 blocks away from you. So we can go after him relatively easily. Meanwhile, Gorg and Meanae are on the East-End of the city, with Gorg being closer to the center of the city where Don Zaloog is smack middle of...Makes sense to have your muscle closest to you; when things go sideways. Then we have Cliff who is in on the west-side of downtown…So overall, I'd say that with our knowing their location; the hard part is figuring out who we go after once we deal with Chick." Francis further spoke regarding the additional locations of Don Zaloog's men
"To think that one of the Dark Scorpions was practically living next door to me; this entire time…Honestly, I can't believe I didn't think to look in my own neighborhood for one of them...How could I have been so blind?" Seryu responded almost at a loss for words on how close she was to one of the Dark Scorpions
"The greatest of threats are often the ones closest to you…Take it from someone who has lived through wars in abundance, and cheated death time and time again. That it is often the threats we overlook, that are the most deadly, Officer Ubiquitous." Oda Nobunaga said remembering all too well of how her greatest threats during her warlord days were often-times in her own court
"While that is a good point, m'am. It still doesn't detract that one of those cretins were living right under my nose this entire time." Seryu said back in frustration
"What do you want to do about it, then?" Francis asked as a menacing smile crossed her face
"That answer is easy enough, Mr. Holyfield. We wait for nightfall, and then we strike out at him with everything we've got. But first things first, we need to lock down all potential exits he could have…I want to make sure that he does not escape my grasp." Seryu answered in wanting to strike immediately
For there was no way she was going to let a Dark Scorpion member who was one of Don Zaloog's lieutenants get away from her. Not when she now knew that he was right across the street; waiting to be punished for his crimes in co-opperating with her former mentor, and the corruption and chaos he let run rampant through her once great city. Her conscience almost viscerally refusing to let her miss the chance to bring down the proverbial hammer on him, so that she could make sure that he and his cohorts would never see the light of day.
"Sounds fine by me….We will need to do this late at night, so we can get the drop on him and who knows how many guards are stationed at his place. The last thing we need is him making a brake for it, when we get things going." Francis said to Seryu
"Soldier, if need be, I can stay outside of the area, and make sure any who attempt to flee the premises are dealt with." Oda Nobunaga suggested to Francis
"That's fine by me, Oda. You got anything that can shoot from the far of a distance?" Francis asked
"During one of the raids we conducted on one of the Dark Scorpion armories, I found a fantastic sniper rifle to wield…All I need is a place to have as cover, while you two storm the castle, and I will do the rest from there." Oda Nobunaga answered back
"Then it's settled, we strike later tonight, and take out one of the big boys of the Dark Scorpion Cartel." Francis spoke as Seryu couldn't help but let a cheerful grin cross her face
'Now I can begin bringing true justice to my home, and soon enough the Empire at large!' Seryu said to herself in excitement of what was to come
(10 hours later, 2:52 Am, June 18th, 1176 I.E, Downtown Fallujah)
It would be nearly 3 in the morning before the intrepid trio of Francis, Oda, and Seryu were beginning their siege on Chick the Yellow's main hideout/home, with Oda taking up her position as sniper from a few hundred yards away as Francis continued his work of sealing up all posssible exits with his barricades.
"Thanks a ton for letting Oda and I have these walky-takies, Miss Seryu. They're gonna make things a whole lot easier." Francis said as he continued to put up the last few of the barricades needed
"Not a problem at all. Anything to help make sure we take down enemies of the Empire." Seryu quietly replied as Francis finished with the barricade in question making it thick enough to withstand an RPG
"Hey, as long as I can make sure that this place is going in the right direction. Then I'm happy to help out wherever I can." Francis said back before going to contact his servant
"Oda, what's the situation on the guards out here?" Francis questioned as the sounds of faraway muffled gunfire could be heard
"The last few patrolling the area on the rooftop have just been neutralized, soldier. Furthermore, the guards protecting the rear entrances of the perimeter have also been neutralized. Both you and Officer Ubiquitous are cleared to enter at your convenience." Oda Nobunaga answered over the radio
"Good to know…Alright, just let me finish putting up the last few barricades and then we can get inside." Francis said as Seryu nodded
From there with the aid of Seryu's use of Observation Haki was Francis able to quickly find not only the last exits he needed too, but also quickly locate the hidden escape routes across the mansion of a hideout that would be on his itinerary to block off once they entered…Which was only after a few short minutes of diligently doing so as he made sure the windows were quickly barricaded as well, as he flew fast as a falcon to block out even those who would attempt to jump out the window.
Once done, the duo then entered inside of the home in question via Francis using his superhuman strength to rip the doorknob off its hinges, where it was able to swing open from therein for them to enter, as Francis then proceeded to make a partial barricade over the door once he closed it…making it so they weren't locked in with Chick and his forces but vice versa. Both Seryu and Francis then began to travel through the corridors as quickly as possible to avoid rousing any suspicion in the meanwhile, with them occasionally stopping to board up the hidden escape routes within Chick's house.
Even then they were able to sneak their way through the corridors as Francis used his ability to fly; via swiftly floating through the halls unabated and unimpeded, the only times he stopped were when Seryu saw the opportunity to deal out a lethal sneak attack against the guards patrolling the areas. Which was rather easy to do between Seryu using her Armament Haki covered tonfas to concuss and impale the unfortunate guards, whilst Francis used his inhuman strength and Obsidian Knuckles to punch and elbow anyone in his crosshairs into a bloody paste.
Nonetheless, the duo were able to sufficiently both take down Chick the Yellow's men, and quietly fly throughout the corridors unimpeded without triggering any traps; like thieves in the night plundering treasure from their quarry…The traversal to Chick the Yellow's quarters had taken a full several minutes after sneaking, sealing up emergency/hidden exits, and taking down his men; before they reached the door where a set of guards were posted protecting his room to make sure that nothing and no one entered without his say.
…Or at least they were before Francis hurled a shard of dense obsidian into their bodies, and subsequently having them exploded in muffled THOOOMMS as the hallway was covered in shredded flesh and clothing as they quickly rushed to the bedroom door; where Seryu quickly unlocked via her Haki covered Tonfas smashing the door in. From there, it was a simple matter of flying into the still slumbering Dark Scorpion lieutenants' bedroom where he slept soundly as could be unaware of their presence, as a stone-faced Seryu with tonfas in hand leaped from Francis's back and onto said Dark Scorpion member.
Where she proceeded to drive both tonfas into his eye sockets, killing the young man instantly as she drove them knuckle deep, breaking through bone, ocular nerves, and brain to have the business ends of her tonfas come through the back of his skull; before withdrawing them in a gruesome flourish. Leaving the now eyeless corpse of the Dark Scorpion member without eyes as he lay twitching in the death throes of his slumber, unaware to the fact that he had been murdered outright by the brunette policewoman.
"Nice shot, Miss. Seryu." Francis said as she held her tonfas unfazed by the swift yet brutal slaying
"Thank you, but now what do we do? There's still so many of his men left here, and I'd rather not leave anything Dark Scorpion related around for them take back." Seryu questioned
"Oh I have that covered, when I was making my barricades I put a handful of exploding shards inside of each one…Just in case things went south and we had to make a last-ditch getaway. All I have to do is clap my hands and this place collapses on itself." Francis answered back on what his Plan B was
"Is that why it took you so long to make those barricades?" Seryu questioned
"Yup. It took me awhile to get it down; since I've had my powers for 2 months and all. But while the speed needs work on embedding these suckers. All I know is that when it goes off, its gonna do some pretty big damage to the place." Francis told Seryu
"That's great to know, Mr. Holyfield. In that case, why don't we get out of here? The stench of these maggots is making me sick." Seryu said to the redheaded Gamer
"Understood, Miss Seryu. Hop on and I'll get us out of here." Francis told Seryu as she hopped on his back and she flew out of there with him in tow
"Hey, Oda we've taken out the target. We'll meet you back at Miss. Seryu's." Francis said as he radio'd his servant
"Understood, soldier. I am en-route there as we speak, anything else you need me to do? Say the word and I will unleash hell upon these maggots." Oda Nobunaga asked the redheaded Gamer as he speedily flew out of the house so fast that a gust of wind followed behind him and Seryu
"Not at all, Oda. You are all cleared to head back" Francis spoke as he clapped his hands to activate the explosive shards
'You gotta love, fireworks.' Francis thought to himself as a series of deafening booms echoed behind him
(2 days later, June 20th 1176 I.E, Downtown Fallujah, 2:12 Pm)
Meanwhile, it would be another 2 days after their taking down of Chick the Yellow's main hideout which had made waves considering that one of the Dark Scorpions main heads of power had been taken down in a single night…All the while Francis was messing around and deciding to try his luck for random Gacha prizes of what he could potentially gain.
'Alright let's see if I got something good…come on, big money no whammies, big money no whammies.' Francis hoped to himself as he rolled 2 Gacha Tokens whilst waiting for his ice cream

'Holy shit, I get one of my favorite cartoon characters growing up and a potentially dope Devil Fruit…This day just keeps getting better and better.' Francis said to himself as he was spotted by none other than Seryu herself
"Oh, hi Miss. Seryu. What're you doing around here?" Francis asked the policewoman
"I was taking Koro for a walk around the city, and I saw you and figured I would say hello…Where is Miss. Oda by the way?" Seryu replied before noticing the short sharpshooter missing from his side
"Oh, she went on to practice with her guns and do more recon around the city. She wanted to make sure that she knows what we're dealing with before we go after the next guy on the list." Francis told Seryu
"I don't think I've ever seen her sit still for more than a few moments…Does she ever relax, Mr. Holyfield?" Seryu wondered in having seen Oda always on the move doing something or practicing her weaponry or martial skill
"She does on occasion, but when it comes to any objective that's set in front of her. She turns into an absolute workhorse…Now I can see why she was as successful as she was back in her home country…When you're a bigshot like she used to be, it's pretty hard to sit still for too long before wanting to jump into action." Francis said knowing that Oda wasn't one to sit around for too long when their was something to do or learn
'Hell, I'm still surprised she hasn't unlocked Haki.' Francis remarked to himself over Oda's constant dedication towards learning Haki and eventually mastering it
"That makes sense…I still can't believe she managed to do something incredible as unifying her entire country…I just hope that I can do something half as great as that one day." Seryu spoke still in awe of Oda's accomplishments as a former warlord
"Trust me, she's capable of some pretty crazy stuff when she puts her mind too it. But that shouldn't detract from all the great stuff your doing…I mean heck we busted up a corrupt nobles' whorehouse operation, and took down an equally corrupt police captain. Not to mention, we're currently taking down a crime syndicate together. How is that not incredible?!" Francis said as he soon recieved his vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and marshmallows
"So trust me when I say that what your doing by taking on these Dark Scorpion guys. That is no less impressive, better yet it is in my top 10 of coolest things I've seen!... That's why I say, give it time, and before you know it; you'll be doing epic shit like unifying this place in no time…You already got a good enough head on your shoulders, which is why I know you'll do great when the time comes." Francis added in seeing only good in Seryu thus far
"Do you really think so, Francis?" Seryu asked as Francis nodded yes while eating his large ice cream
"Of course, I do. You've got a good heart, you are super focused on bringing down evil, plus you wanna make the world a better place free of corruption. Then to top it all off; you genuinely care for bettering this place…So if there's anyone here who can make that happen then I would bet it all on you." Francis said having nothing but hope and belief in Seryu
Since in the short time he'd gotten to know the policewoman, he saw someone who genuinely and truly cared for her home and wanted to improve for the better, with her desire for justice and protecting the common man reminded him of his folks before he died. Given that with his mother serving in the police force herself and having even made it to the rank of Captain he felt a soft spot in himself for Seryu and as such couldn't help but gravitate towards her and her cause towards justice and destroying corruption.
"Thank you, I appreciate your confidence in me. Especially, now that I have big shoes to fill with Captain Ogre gone…Someone has to protect the city from all the evil and vile people in it and outside of it." Seryu said back knowing there was work to be done as Koro barked in agreement
"Of course, I may not be all that much, but I am here if you want or need someone to talk to...Since its me, everyone's friend." Francis told her as a smile crossed her face
"Thanks." Was Seryu's only response
"But other than my believing you can do just about anything. Was there something you wanted to talk to me about?" Francis asked the shorter between them as he continued to eat his ice-cream
"Yes, I actually did have a question to ask you...If you don't mind, I don't want to seem rude by asking it." Seryu asked as they proceeded to walk and talk
"Alright, shoot. I'm pretty much an open book?" Francis answered back
"I've been wondering, what exactly are your goals while you're here in the Empire? I know that you said you want to help people and be a good person. But what more do you want to do? I'm sure that someone as strong as you has more they want to do in the world?" Seryu questioned curious to know more of Francis's motivations or even his endgoals
"To be honest, I haven't really given much thought to that…All I really want to do is be a good person in the best ways I know I can." Francis replied
"Have you ever thought about joining the Imperial Army? I'm sure that with your powers and skills, that you could do a lot of good in the Empire that way…You'd even get to be a hero to the people too!" Seryu suggested to the taller redhead
"You know that does sound like a half-decent idea. Plus I would be following in my dad's footsteps like he always wanted me to." Francis told her
"Your dad served in the army?" Seryu asked
"Yeah, back home my dad was a pretty high rank in our armed forces. Was about a rank or two away from being a general. His father before him made it to being a Rear-Admiral in the Navy during one of the wars before he retired." Francis answered back in regards to a bit of his family history
"That's incredible! They must be incredible people to have made it that far in the military." Seryu spoke as Francis couldn't help but smile regarding his father and grandfather
"They were, they really were. If anything they were my heroes growing up…You'd think they were pretty awesome guys too. I doubt that there are men with greater courage or honor in their hearts than my dad and grandpa. If you looked up being awesome in the dictionary, it would be my dad and his dad by a close second." Francis replied regarding his father having been a main source of inspiration to being a good upstanding man
"Did you ever want to follow in their footsteps?" Seryu innocently asked
"Yeah, I did at one time. But I never could go through with it as much as I wanted to." Francis told the brunette policewoman
"And why not, it sounds like your father and grandfather would have supported you every step of the way." Seryu wondered in curiosity
"...I was always afraid of failing them. I was afraid of; what if I couldn't measure up to all the great things they did in their day. What if I messed up, and wound up a failure that put a black mark on everything they've worked for for years? Or worse failed out of boot camp or even the military academies they went to after high school…The last thing I ever wanted to do was break their hearts because I failed at measuring up to the expectations of their legacy." Francis said his voice turning into a rare one of regret
"That's why, I decided to not go through with it and pursue a career in combat sports. Since at least that way I could put the one thing I excel at to good use, and still be recognized as something great in the eyes of the people." Francis added
"Have you told, Miss Oda about this? I think she would understand with her background." Seryu asked as Francis shook his head no
"I-I didn't want her to think lesser of me for chickening out of something...The last thing I need is her laughing at me; because of my fears of failure. Putting it on someone who has done something as incredible as what she's done, sounds like a dick move. That is the one thing I don't want, is for anyone to think I'm lesser, because I couldn't commit to something greater. Especially, when looking back on it I could've made it to the rank of Lieutenant by now." Francis replied as regret and shame continued to fill his voice
"Then why don't you join the Imperial Army, and make up for lost time, then? I'm sure that you could do great things for the people, and make your parents proud at the same time! It sounds like everybody wins if you do that." Seryu suggested further regarding Francis joining the Imperial Army
"Hmph, I won't lie when I say that the idea sounds nice and all. But right now, my heart isn't really in it to sign on…Not when there's so much more for me to do out in the world. Not when there are people out there for me to help, things to explore, and corrupt jerks in power for me and Oda to vibe check…So even though it sounds like a great idea, I can't right now when my heart of hearts compels me to do what I have to in the world." Francis responded as he continued to devour his ice cream cone like a pack of hyenas devouring a buffalo carcass
"We all have to seek out justice in our own ways, Miss. Seryu, and right now my heart is telling me to seek out justice by being a wanderin' man on the road…Even it following in my dad's footsteps sounds awesome as heck." Francis added knowing that his heart was telling him to continue down his chosen path instead of going for the route of an Imperial soldier
"I understand, and I can't really blame you for it. Since we all have to follow our own ways of dealing out justice…But will you at least give it some more thought while you are here? I think that you might wind up surprising yourself; with where your heart leads you to." Seryu requested
"If it means I can do the most amount of good possible across the Imperium. Then sure, I'll give some thought and consider joining…If it means I can help fix this place up to be better than ever, then one of these days you just might see me in uniform." Francis responded with a cheerful wink at the idea of living up to his parents ideals and their legacies as men/women of the people
"Thank you, Mr. Holyfield, I really appreciate it!" Seryu cheered
"Not a problem at all, Miss Seryu. In the meantime, how about we find somewhere to get situated and plan who were going after next." Francis said to Seryu
"That sounds great! I already have ideas on who we can go after next." Seryu said as Koro barked happy to see his owner/partner in good spirits
"That sounds awesome, let's hop to it then!" Francis replied as the two headed off to talk shop
So with Francis and Oda teaming up with Seryu in order to take down the Dark Scorpions, we see the policewoman in question warming up to Francis as he joins her in the crusade for justice in order to exterminate corruption and evil within her home. Yet with his most recent conversation with Seryu having him flirt with the idea of potentially joining the Imperial Army, what potential shenangians will come for our intrepid hero? Well, you'll have to stick around for the all-new installments of A Gamer Amongst Monsters: Alternative to find out!
Alright, everybody, that takes care of this one, as I hoped you guys are enjoying the start of the Dark Scorpions arc. Since I figured it would be a bit of fun to include one of Yugioh's O.G archetypes as a mini-arc villain that let's me playaround with Seryu and give her character development for the time being. Furthermore, we've officially made it 5 chapters into the story, so hip-hip-hooray for that, and as such many thanks to those who are continuing to support the story thus far, and a thank you to those that are joining for this wild ride that we're engaging in.

Gwnyx: I'm glad you think that because with there being a Good-Aligned M.C for having Gamer powers. It really does open up the door to show that despite being able to have limitless godlike powers. That there is still a humanity to them, and that at the end of the day when people are given superpowers that they decide to do good with them; instead of being a dickhead.
Guest: Also, I am glad you liked the choice for his Devil Fruit, given that it just seems to funny to have someone like Francis has that particular Devil Fruit. Especially since with how I have him planned out so far...it may have him rallying against Night Raid in the clash of how his ideals meet against there's.
ZeroSpearow: Yes it does, but thanks to stuff like his flight powers among other things such as his allies he's getting. The weaknesses therein of his Devil Fruit when he does eat it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Reikon67: Yeah, as to me Oda was a pick that I had in mind. Given that while having a busted as heck Servant like Karna or Quetzacoatl would be awesome, he does need someone who knows what they're doing. As such, Oda Nobunaga is a perfect pick given that she can help him navigate things like dealing with military organizations better than most would...something that's going to be important in future chapters.
EpicFailofComputers: That's more than fair, given how the Goro Goro No Mi and Kaido's fruit are super strong. However, I wouldn't sleep on the Flame-Flame Fruit too much, since the fun part about Devil Fruits is getting creative with what you can do with them. So I think that I'll be able to come up with some fun stuff with the Flame-Flame Fruit synergizing with his Density Control.
