"We do have a few option," Said Koharu.
"Well for one, you both, Kakashi, Gai, and Tsunade are the picks." Said Koharu.
"I don't believe I am cut out for a desk job, I have a spy network to consider running. Without my network, we would't have known Orochimaru was orchestrating an invasion in the first place," Replied Jiraiya, turning down the offer.
"I am just as old as you two. I may be strong, but my strength has decreased significantly from my prime," Replied Danzo, turning down the offer.
"Gai might make the entire village do his warm ups if he becomes hokage. On a serious note, he wouldn't make a good Hokage since he can't handle the darkness," Remarked Danzo, with Jiraiya and the anbu commander nodding.
"What about Kakashi? He is one of the strongest shinobi in the village, he is also a prodigy who became a genin at age 5, chunin at age 6, jonin at age 12, and anbu captain at 15," Said Homura.
"He is a good pick. But I also advise that you should discuss about my teammate, Tsunade." Said Jiraiya.
"But she has never even set a foot on this village for over 16 years!" Refuted Koharu.
"Yes, but she is good for the job, she has the heritage for it as well. She is also about as strong as I am," Said Jiraiya.
"She has Hemophobia, what good is a doctor who shivers at the sight of blood?" Danzo refuted. He didn't like Tsunade because she left the village, everyone has lost a lot of people during the war. This doesn't excuse her leave, is what ran on his mind.
"Kakashi also has his own faults. He is still depressed over the fact that everyone close to him died. He still carries on the guilt because he felt he could have changed the outcome," Said the anbu commander.
"Kakashi might be strong, but he isn't strong enough to be considered a Kage level shinobi. This is also one of the few faults which makes it hard for us to choose him as the fifth Hokage," Continued the Jonin commander, Shikaku.
"Another reason why we can't have Tsunade as the Hokage is because she is also getting old. Jiraiya and Tsunade are well into their fifties, we need someone young and strong," Said Danzo.
Everyone were reluctant to agree to that fact.
The choice was between either someone young, some what fit for a desk job, and is not strong enough, or a person getting old, is fit for a desk job, is strong, but is also fearful of blood.
"I say we should consider Naruto as well," Said Danzo, shocking the people gathered there.
Jiraiya, the Anbu commander and Danzo know how strong Naruto is, but the other elders don't. But it still gave them a shock from Danzo's suggestion
"That's completely preposterous! He is just 13 years old!" Yelled Koharu with Homura agreeing with her.
"Naruto is just as strong as Jiraiya despite not even being close to his prime. Naruto can lead Konoha for decades to come," Danzo replied.
Jiraiya didn't want Naruto to be Hokage yet, but still agreed with Danzo.
10 years ago,
"Hiruzen! The jinchuriki is being ill treated. If this continues, this will only make Konoha weaker in the long term. e can't have a weak jinchuriki representing Konoha," Danzo stated.
"He is but a child. We should let him grow and enjoy life before he trains," Replied Hiruzen.
"Enjoy life? that brat has faced nothing but scorn from a young age. He should be trained by me, where he will make a fine asset to Konoha," Danzo refuted.
Hiruzen contemplated. Yes, Naruto was mistreated a lot. If Naruto has any chance of recognition, he has to prove himself to being loyal to the village. At least most of the Shinobi populous won't discriminate him.
'I Can't trust Naruto to Danzo entirely,' thought Hiruzen.
"Fine, I will let you train him, but you will be heavily limited in what you train and teach him. I will also be teaching him time to time with some anbu of my choosing to help him out as well. If you don't agree to this, then you can't train him," Said Hiruzen with finality.
'This is the least I can do, Minato' Thought Hiruzen solemnly.
'That's fine with me," Replied Danzo. Even if he won't be able to control Naruto, he will be able to pass some of his ideals and teachings to someone is what he thought.
Naruto, age 6,
"You will be infiltrating the Konoha academy. You are tasked with keeping appearances in the village as a goofy child. We don't want any traces between you and your father seen," Said Danzo.
"Yes gramps! Consider the mission done!" Naruto shouted.
Naruto Age 7,
"Naruto, you should keep an eye in the Uchiha boy. He is a flight risk, so you should try befriending him. You can teach him some elementary things to keep him engaged. He is one of the few Uchihas survived due to the Coup de ta," Said Hiruzen.
"Yea gramps! Although he might be a stick in the mud, I will be able to befriend him!" Naruto enthusiastically replied.
Naruto age 10,
'Naruto is already as strong as most chunin in the village, I won't be surprised if he is as strong as me by the time he is 15,' thought Hiruzen.
"222, 223, 224, 225!" Naruto counted.
"That's enough Naruto! You have clearly passed your limits, but I don't want you to be exhausted yet, I still have a lot to more teach you." Said Jiraiya
Present day,
"This is his portfolio," Said Danzo, showing others Naruto's files.

"104 A ranks, and 23 S Ranked missions!" Shouted Koharu with surprise.
"Most jonin would die for such a portfolio!" Said Jiraiya with a bit of surprise. He haven't seen his god son's portfolio.
"That's truly remarkable," Homura remarked with shock evident in his voice.
"He may have the lowest number of missions in the list of candidates, but his is also nearly 16 years younger than the youngest candidate considered here, that truly is saying something," Said the Anbu commander.
"He also is a perfect sage, a better one than I am," Remarked Jiraiya.
"Although we should not let Naruto train like he did last month, but he will be able to surpass me within a month of solid training. His methods are quite damaging to him, so I made him promise he will do it only under my supervision," Said Jiraiya.
"That's is correct, I warned him about the dangers of that method," Said Danzo, agreeing with Jiraiya.
"The fact he can use the Hiraishin nearly as good as his father would make any enemy scared to even think of attacking us," Said Jiraiya.
In Fire Capital,
"Sis, pack up! We should go to Konoha now!" Shouted Kazuto, the first son of the Daimyo.
"Why rush?" Asked Ritsuko.
"Our parents are dead, and our brother is now disabled." He said in a hurry.
"HOW?" She shouted.
"Turns out, Suna and Orochimaru invaded Konoha. They assassinated our parents and the Hokage," He replied.
"Our grandfather is trying her best to control the situation, but her words are nothing but mere words. She holds no real power. No one respects her in the court," He continued.
"How do you think we can gain stability back in the court?" Asked Ritsuko worried, she knew if something went wrong, the Fire capital might go .
"There's a boy who is as old as you are. Since the Minamoto family has not responded to our plight, your marriage with their heir and our alliance with them is obsolete. The best we can do is get to him first and try marrying you to him," Kazuto said hurriedly.
"Who is that boy you speak of?" She asked, while packing.
"He is a Namikaze, he has a lot of power in both inside and outside the village. He probably has many people lining up for him. This is why we should hurry. He is the only one who can help us gain power back in our country," He said.
"We will be moving through the night as well, we have to reach there by tomorrow," He continued.
Both of them hurried out to Konoha with a few shinobi guards.
In Konoha,
"Ahh finally, we have gotten all of the enemy ninjas out of Konoha," Said an anbu.
"Don't get lax yet. We most likely will be sent out to tough missions to show Konoha hasn't suffered much during this invasion," Replied the anbu squad captain.
"Yes senpai," he replied.
"Here is the drill everyone! We will be training every free time we get. We should get 100% Success rate in all our missions and we should all come back alive to show Konoha is still the strongest village!" The captain shouted at his subordinates.
"YES SIR!" They all yelled back.
"Our training starts one hour from now. We will be focusing in our speed for the most part for evasion skills," The captain said.
Many similar talks were going on with most anbu teams.
In the elder council,
"Fine, everyone only gets to have one vote here, please raise your hands to vote for their candidates, it's compulsory for one to vote on these matters," Shikaku announced.
"Our first candidate is Kakashi Hatake, those who want to vote for him, please raise your hands," He announced.
Shikaku himself, Koharu, and Homura raised their hands.
"Those who want to vote for Tsunade Senju, raise their hands," Shikaku announced,
No one raised their hands for her.
"Well then, this means that it's a tie between Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze and Kakashi Hatake as per the rules. We should bring them both into the council and ask if they want to accept the post. If both choose they want to, then the rest of the council gets to vote. And if both deny the position, we will select Tsunade for being the Hokage, and if she refuses, we will try selecting another candidate." Shikaku announced.
"I will go pick up Kakashi," Said the Anbu commander.
"I will pick up Naruto," Jiraiya said.
Both of them left in a body flicker.
Ichiraku's Ramen shop,
"Oh, both of you are here. This makes it easy," Said the Anbu commander with Jiraiya nodding with agreement.
"Hmm, you want us both for what exactly?" Asked Kakashi in a lazy tone.
"We can't discuss it out here. You have to follow us to the Hokage tower immediately, you both can have your ramen later. This is very important," Jiraiya said, stressing on the importance of the matter.
Naruto and Kakashi quickly gulfed their ramen up and left to the Hokage Tower.
In the Hokage Tower,
"Kakashi, would you like to become the Fifth Hokage?" Asked Shikaku.
"If you are here to ask Kakashi sensei to be Hokage, then why bring me along with him?" Asked Naruto.
"Just wait brat," Jiraiya told, giving Naruto a bonk on his head.
"Umh, wouldn't Lord Jiraiya be cut out for that position more than me?" Asked Kakashi.
"we considered him, but he turned down the offer," Said Koharu.
"Well, I would also like to turn down the offer, I feel that I am better in the field rather than in a desk job," Said Kakashi.
"I am also not as strong as the previous Hokage were when they got the post," he continued.
"Well it can't be helped I guess," Shikaku muttered.
"Then Naruto, we appoint you to be the Fifth Hokage," Said Shikaku.
Naruto and Kakashi were baffled.
"Wha... Wha... me?" Questioned Naruto incredulously.
"Yes, you are easily one of the strongest in the world despite being only 13. Kakashi was our prime candidate since we expected him to give his hat after he was the hokage for 15 or so years, but since he doesn't want it, we will give you, the next best alternative. You are respected for what you did, and your heritage speaks well for itself. You can bring hope to the village during these trying times." Said Shikaku.
"Well, although I wanted to be hokage, not this early. But I still accept the job under one condition," Said Naruto.
"What is it Naruto?" Asked Danzo.
"I choose who my advisors are, and I also need a month before announcing that I am the Hokage. The populous won't like me much if it were released now. They have to learn of my exploits and my heritage before knowing that I am the Hokage. It will also ease the pressure forced on to me by nobilities coming for alliances," He answered.
"That can be granted," Danzo answered. Everyone also agreed with him.
"To stove off the council, just say that you are still choosing a Hokage," Said Naruto.
"We will do that in the upcoming meeting which is happening tonight," Answered the anbu commander.
"For now, I will have Jiraiya sensei, grandpa Danzo, and Shikaku as my advisors. And Dragon, I expect you to give me reports on the missions you have sent the anbu for. I will be loaning Konoha and The Fire Nation through my companies to keep a steady flow of income until the Fire Capital stabilizes. This can ensure that my top executives can hold civilian councilor position at Konoha and hold some power in the capital," Naruto said.
"I will be assigning missions to only elite chunin and above. It's the council's duty to officially hand them out to the ninjas," He continued, taking authority.
"Yes Lord Hokage," They chorused.
Naruto felt a bit odd when the called him Lord Hokage, he just got the job after all.
"Well, if anyone has some thing to say, say it quick. Me and Kakashi have to go back for lunch. If anyone wants to join, they can do so." Naruto said.
Everyone politely denied his invitation for lunch since they already had theirs.
Kakashi and Naruto made their way to the Ichiraku's and had their lunch.
In Konoha's hospital,
"huh?" one Ayumu woke up groggily,
"*huff* why am I not able to move my legs?" He questioned himself.
"Please don't try to move young mister," said a nurse.
"Why am I not able to move my legs!" He said in panic.
"Please calm down! they are healing now," She said to sooth him.
"Try not to move. your legs were severely damaged by the ruble which fell on top of you, but we came on time to save your legs. You won't be able to walk for a few months though," She continued.
Ayumu's face got sullen at that fact,
'How can I even face them, let alone her. She would just mock me for this.' he thought bitterly.
"Can I be moved to a better place than this?" He asked.
"Currently all the premium and special rooms are occupied for severe injuries," She informed.
"WHAT? I am the daimyo's son! I am also severely injured!" He reasoned.
The nurses eyes got down cast.
"I am sorry to say this sir, but your parents have perished during the attack. The number of assassinations targeted on your father overwhelmed the guardian 12 ninjas and the anbu tasked with protecting him," She replied with a bit of sadness in her tone.
Ayumu's eyes widened, tears started to pour out of them slowly.
"it can't be!" He said. He started to hyperventilate. Before his condition got worse, she knocked him out so he will sleep it out.
After 5 hours,
in the Namikaze compound,
"So these are the reports eh, I want all the chunin teams to patrol the outskirts while the Anbu take care of the border," ordered Naruto.
"Yes lord Hokage," Dragon answered while bowing.
"I would like to request something lord Hokage," said Dragon.
"What is it?" Naruto asked.
"I would like to have new recruits for the anbu sir. For which I would like to assess both the genin and academy students," Dragon requested.
'Is it a good idea to let ones who haven't even seen blood into the anbu? No, now is not the time to think about an individual's feelings, Konoha must have enough shinobi to handle invasions from any scale,' He thought.
"Fine, I will allow it, but you can only assess them from above the ages of 8 and no less." Naruto said.
"Thank you lord Hokage," Anbu commander said.
"You are dismissed," Naruto said.
The anbu commander left in a body flicker.
"Well, I am almost finished with today's paper work, I guess I will go take a look around the village. I will let a few clones of mine do the paper work." He said to himself, leaving the compound.
When he was walking on the streets, everyone looked at him with awe and a bit of jealousy.
Some wanted him to join them for dinner, and some wanted to talk to him about alliances.
'ah, these minor clans and nobility want a flesh of me this early already?' he thought.
"Ahh, I would love to spend some time with you guys, but I have something important to do now, byee!" He said, flashing away leaving everyone there in awe.
Naruto made his way to Yakiniku restaurant after teleporting.
"Hey Naruto! We just arrived here, so join us!" Yelled Sakura, who was sitting there with Shikamaru, Ino, Choji, Kiba, Shino, Hinata and Tenten.
'Well, it's been a while since I spoke to them outside of missions, so why not.' he thought.
'Hmm, the anbu have surrounded this place up already, they do take this quite seriously, but I should not let them waste their time watching me, so I better dismiss them later.' He thought.
"Where were you Naruto? we tried searching for you, but you were no where to be seen," Asked Sakura
"Me... I was just around helping people and taking up a few missions. I have a lot of work to do ya know," He replied.
Kiba did feel jealous, he knew he got beat fair and square, but his pride didn't like it. So for now he just kept his mouth shut.
'So he is the Namikaze heir. Grandfather told me to keep an eye on him, since the Daimyo's power has severely weakened, we might have to ally with the Namikaze clan,' She thought looking at Naruto.
Kiba was now annoyed. The girl he had a crush on since academy was looking at Naruto a lot, and it made him jealous. He felt as if he wanted to do something, but he knew better. It's not the time to do it.
"What kind of missions did you do Naruto?" Ino asked.
"Oh it's nothing much. I helped out with construction and I was assigned on border patrol mostly. My sensing ability is as good as most Inazuka." He answered.
'What! It's not possible for someone to be good at sensing and tracking as my clan!' he thought, getting a bit angry.
"hey Naruto, you want to spar sometime?" Asked Hinata.
"I would like to join in as well!" Kiba said, trying to not let Naruto have her all by himself.
"Yea sure..." Naruto agreed.
'What does Kiba want?' Hinata thought, a bit annoyed.
'The pheromones released by Kiba show that he is feeling threatened, could it be that he is feeling jealous of Naruto?' Shino thought.
"What about tomorrow?" Asked Hinata, knowing that Kiba had some clan duties.
"I am afraid not, I have some other issues to take care of," Naruto replied.
"Are you afraid that we will defeat you?" Questioned Kiba with a smirk.
Naruto isn't too fond of Kiba, Kiba did bunk a few classes with Naruto, but he always made fun of him for being an orphan and was always inconsiderate.
"I already proved that I am stronger than you Kiba," Naruto replied.
"Oh yea! It might have been a fluke!" Kiba refuted.
'What's his problem? just yesterday, he went on about how Naruto changed, and now he himself is saying that it was a fluke. maybe he didn't want to seem bad when he lost to Naruto, that's why he told all that on the stands,' thought Tenten.
'This means he has a huge ego issue,' she thought with a smirk tugging at her lips.
"Let's have it at a later time Kiba, I have important matters to attend to. Both my sensei are getting considered for the post of the Hokage, and me being a personal apprentice to one of the doesn't leave me enough time for myself," He replied.
'Hmm, Hinata is trying to get closer to me after their ticket to the Fire Capital was blown away due to the death of the Daimyo, she must have known my place in the internal affairs of this village through her elders,' he thought.
"We should get ordering now, I am very hungry after working soo much!" Choji said, with everyone agreeing.
After their meal, they all left for their own ways.
After reaching a non descript clearing, he ordered his anbu guards to come out of hiding,
"It's quite pointless for you 6 to be guarding me. I am strong enough to protect my self and I even have Jiraiya by my side most of the time. You six should not be wasting your time guarding me, instead I will tell the anbu commander give you missions which can be done in the village," He said.
"Yes lord hokage," They chorused.
"I will only have 2 of you guarding per shift," he said.
"Yes Hokage," Said the captain.
"For now, you 6 are dismissed, I will meet you 6 in the morning," Naruto said.
After 3 days,
"Hmm, what do you want my help for?" Asked Naruto.
"I know that I am the support for the team, and I believe I can help out you guys by learning medical jutsu, so please tell me what I should do," Asked Sakura.
"Well, I guess you should go to the Konoha hospital, there you can request for training. The Hospital would be more than happy to let you in there, even more so if you learn what is in this scroll," Naruto said, tossing the scroll to Sakura.
"what is in the scroll?" She asked.
"It's the healing palm, the most basic healing technique. It will be used there quite often. I would recommend you to start of your training in this as quick as possible. You have enough chakra control and reserves to pull it out," He answered.
"Oh, I almost forgot to mention tomorrow they will be handing out our promotions, we have a good chance of getting promoted," Naruto said.
"I don't think I will be promoted, I lost my match remember?" She said with a sad tone.
"Bah! Don't worry, it doesn't matter if you win or loose. Neji was a superior ninja than you. Most expected you to loose within a minute, and yet with your strategy, you managed to do quite the number on him, nearly winning. Not to mention that you lasted more than 20 minutes against him. The judges will promote you by checking your skills and analytical thinking. You have good skills and even better analytical thinking, you will get promoted," Naruto replied, getting Sakura's mood to lighten up a bit.
"Well, I have to leave now, byee" Said Naruto, leaving.
In Konoha's Hospital,
"Oh little brother!" Ritsuko cried.
"Sister!" Ayumu shouted with relief.
"Brother, we got you discharged. We have some unfinished business here, we will have our parents funeral after the issue is resolved," Kazuto said.
Their grandfather, Takashi just looked displeased at their current situation.
She didn't like the fact that she was unofficially kicked out of the Fire Capital's court.
Currently there is no Daimyo in the Fire nation. Other families are trying to climb up with the support of others and become the Daimyo, but the fact that the heir of the previous Daimyo is still alive and kicking is preventing them from getting the throne. But Kenji of the Hiku family also had some rights to the throne if he played his cards right, after all his great grandfather was the 3 Daimyo of the land of Fire.
The Daimyo's family made their way out quickly and went to their hotel room.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Asked Ayumu frantically.
"We should first meet with the Hyuuga clan and see if they would help us out," Takashi stated.
"That would be quite foolish grandfather," Kazuto replied.
"What did you say you brat!" Takashi said to Kazuto.
"You heard me right! The news of us loosing power in the capital would be a common knowledge to the higher ups, this is why we should gain the support of the Namikaze boy. Other than my maternal Grandfather loosing his money and power, it won't affect us much because if the namikaze marries into us, it will make nearly no difference since we will still have some influence," Kazuto replied.
"But, we don't have much to offer him," Kazuto said.
"What do you mean we don't not much to offer him?! We are of the Daimyo's family!" Shouted Takashi.
"We may be of the Daimyo's family, but it depends on his answer. We don't have much to give him other than some chump change. Not to mention he would have some animosity with my mother's side of the family since they tried to steal his inheritance," Kazuto replied
"I say we can give him the power to rule over some land in the country," Said Takashi.
"What if he refuses, he already has soo much land under him that he might not even consider our offer of land," Replied Kazuto.
"The best we can do is give in to his demands, the worst case scenario is the fact that I am the Daimyo and might loose some power, but I can ensure that the descendants of the Kaze family can hold power as long as the Namikaze family is prosperous" Said Kazuto.
