In one Summer, there was an exhibition of ancient Egypt in the Louvre. You didn't see there a lot of families, maybe only those with teens. They were mainly with in large groups with tour guides. Some times there were middle aged people or older growing around in pairs or a bit more. But among there were young people going all by themselves. The man and the women met next to a sign of a tomb of a deceased couple from a far away land long ago. The woman came first. Then the man came, not paying her much attention. But then, their eyes met. He just wondered how her face looked like. She wanted to look at the person who stood by her. And somehow, if felt as if the time stopped from them both.
"Don't you think it's weird a man and a women meet next to a tomb of deceased lovers?" the man said with French accent
"I think it's weirder when no one's around them," she answered in French.
"You know French, ha? Why am I surprised? It's a French museum after all!"
"I'm surprised i am speaking with a complete stranger," she felt flattered, but she didn't know why.
"My name is Raoul," he extended his hand for a handshake.
"Adele," she shook it.
"You must think I'm a weirdo, but trust me, I usually don't do this. I'm not an a museum person, either. I am just... fascinated by ancient Egypt. I see all those things, and they almost feel familiar," he halted for a few moments and then continued. "I mean, why did I tell this to a woman whom I hardly know at all and should forget?"
Speaking of nostalgia, it really felt nostalgic, like he said it before. But he wasn't the only one feeling nostalgic.
"I really do wonder I still here listening to stranger I just met," she smiled. "I don't if I am fascinated by Egypt, but... it always brings a warm feeling to my heart. Like my heart is there, in a way."
"Damn, it's just like you were reading my mind..."
Silence.
"Are you from Paris?" he asked.
"From Médan. It's really close."
"I always wanted to live in the country side or something. I like when the world is open in front of me! But I'm still a student. I hope by the end of my degree to find someone, and we'll move somewhere."
"I am also not fond of cities, but they can sure offer you things you don't have. Like museums. But someone I would like to travel."
"Yes, but they are boring. I would take you sailing south, would you be my guide?"
"I never was in rivera. I heard it's a beautiful place. If I ever got to the beacher there, wherever there are no people, I'd jump off the boat and kick off my sandals and run!" she said with excitment, attracting attention of other visitors. She looked at the floor. After a fee moments, when she felt no eyes were on her anymore, she added "this sure sounds childish. Especially with the way I said."
It was weird, she could almost smell the sea. She really missed home all of a sudden, as if she's never going to go back.
"Not at all," he smiled, waking her from her thoughts. "It'c cute, in a way. You're a free spirit. I always wanted to be free. go to explore the world."
"Sounds fantstic,"
"Raoul," he reached his hand for a shake, even if felt to fromal for him.
"Adele," she also had an awkard feeling shaking it.
"What are the chances we will meet again?" he asked.
"We can still spend some time together today, doe't you think?"
"I guess," he chuckles.
"Did you see enough?"
"I think it did."
"Shall we go eat something."
"Sounds cool."
Indeed, love will always find a way. Even if thousands of years later.
