operation: EXDAY
It's another Extermination day, when Angels come down to kill any sinners or demons they find alive. The cast and Frank are in the Hazbin Hotel, where they are safe.
"Poor souls..." Charlie murmurs.
"It's okay, Charlie. It'll be over soon," Vaggie reassures her.
Alastor smiles as usual, Niffty cleans, and Husk drinks beer again. Angel Dust sits on the couch, enjoying a popsicle.
Frank glances around, confused. He knows he just arrived in Hell a week ago, but wonders why they don't fight back.
Vaggie looks over at Frank. "It's not as simple as just fighting back. They have much better weapons and can be very powerful. We have a chance of survival here in the hotel, but out there?" She gestures to the city beyond. "We have a 1% chance of survival. We'd be gone in a heartbeat."
"Come on, guys! I've seen angelic-killing weapons! Why don't we make a real, coordinated attack?" Frank urges.
Vaggie is startled by his sudden intensity. "Like I said, it's risky. I'd much rather stay here. The chance of survival is higher."
"Yeah, I agree with her," Angel Dust chimes in, finishing his popsicle. "There's no point in fighting those Angels. They'd kill us before we could strike back."
Frank insists, "So you're saying there are absolutely no war generals? We have the weapons, and I'm sure plenty would volunteer for the army. Why do we just descend into chaos every year? It's pathetic! We have forces of complete satanic power; we could take them!"
Charlie glances at Frank, concern on her face. "The reason there's no coordination is that it's pointless. We'd die regardless."
Angel Dust sighs. "You've been here less than a week. You really think you could muster an army big enough—"
Charlie cuts him off. "The Angels are much more powerful! Fighting back will not work!"
"But we have angel-killing guns! They just use swords!" Frank argues.
Charlie's frustration grows. "Yes, but what about the power of the Angels? The swords are mostly for show. Do you honestly think you can manage a strong enough army? Be realistic, Frank."
"Has anyone, and I mean ANYONE, tried using a real army down here?" Frank questions.
Silence fills the room as everyone contemplates.
"Well... no," Vaggie admits.
"We've accepted the fate of the extermination. What's the point of resisting when you know you're doomed?" Charlie adds.
Frank slaps his face in frustration. "Better to go down fighting than run like a coward! An army is A LOT more efficient than you think."
Everyone exchanges incredulous looks, surprised by Frank's bravery. Alastor, however, seems intrigued.
"That's a very interesting idea. Who knows? Maybe an army would be effective against those Angels," Alastor suggests.
Charlie nods in agreement, while Vaggie and Angel Dust remain in shock at the prospect of fighting back.
Frank grabs an old-timey paper map of Hell. "They only send out a few thousand Angels per year, while we have MILLIONS, not including the Hellborn. They come out of ONE portal, which we could easily surround with titanium alloy."
The room buzzes with astonishment as Frank holds up the map. Charlie, Alastor, and Vaggie move closer, their expressions shifting to curiosity and excitement.
"That's... not a bad idea," Vaggie admits.
"What if we surrounded the portal? When the Angels stepped out, they'd be met with hundreds of demons fighting and shooting them at once!" Angel Dust adds.
Frank continues, "This place is ridiculous. It took me, just a random guy, to save an entire Hell!"
Your words might have been harsh, but they struck a chord. Charlie and Alastor exchange determined glances, agreeing with Frank's plan.
"We never questioned why we didn't fight back. We simply accepted our fate," Charlie acknowledges. "It wouldn't hurt to try."
An agreement forms among them to finally fight back against the Angels that have exterminated the souls of Hell for millennia.
"It's too late for this year's extermination," Frank says. "But next year? We could finally win against the Angels."
Vaggie nods. It's too late for today, but perhaps this idea will save many souls in the future.
"Maybe your idea will help everyone survive the Extermination!" Charlie exclaims, beaming with newfound hope.
A month after the extermination, the hotel transformed into a military base. Thousands of sinners and Hellborn alike trained under Frank's command, planning for the invasion.
As the month passed, the hotel began to resemble a fortress. Many practiced with their angel-killing weapons, while others honed their unique skills. Vaggie trained a battalion, and Charlie watched over the preparations with pride.
Frank approached Charlie. "All we need is another hundred recruits, and we'll outnumber the yearly angelic forces by eighty."
Charlie smiled back at him. "I like how you think, Frank. We're definitely going to outnumber them. Just keep up the good work, and we might just survive the next Extermination!"
Charlie stepped outside to monitor progress, leaving Frank with Vaggie. They surveyed the mass of trained soldiers, and Vaggie turned to him.
"I have to admit, I wasn't expecting anyone to suggest fighting back against the Angels. You've had this idea all along."
Vaggie looked around, still amazed at how efficient the plan was. "What made you think of this?"
Frank sighed. "Let's just say I had a contingency plan for everything, even this."
Vaggie smiled, impressed. "That's honestly pretty impressive. Not even Alastor or Charlie thought of this." She placed a reassuring arm on his shoulder. "So, once we start fighting back, you know you'll be leading the army, right?"
Frank shrugged. "Meh. Instead of a charging army, I was thinking we could surround that giant gaping portal with a titanium-hellmetal-angelicmetal alloy."
Vaggie chuckled, clearly liking the idea. "That's... brilliant."
After a moment of contemplation, she turned back to him, her expression serious. "And if an angel slips through, we have plenty of trained souls ready to take them down, right?"
"Yep. Six months later, Hell is ready for the invasion—except for the lowest level, which we're using as a med-bay."
Frank's plan had come together perfectly. Every soul was trained, every strategy in place to ensure survival against the impending Extermination.
The day finally arrived. The giant clock in the heart of Hell chimed ominously, signaling the start. The massive red, silver, and white dome surrounding the portal glowed white, holding firm against the celestial threat.
"Shield forces, surround the dome! Everyone else, get into position VR-98!" Frank commanded.
The forces moved quickly, forming a protective barrier around the dome. Pride swelled in Frank's chest as they prepared for battle, waiting for the Angels to make their move.
Suddenly, the dome began to shake, the vibrations escalating until it shattered, scattering debris around the portal. All eyes turned to the gaping void, ready for the onslaught.
"OPEN FIRE! USE THE INFINITY-AMMO GUNS ONLY!" Frank shouted.
Gunfire erupted as the troops unleashed a barrage on the portal. Angels of all shapes and sizes fell in droves, a stark contrast to the past where hope was all but extinguished. Frank beamed at their bravery.
"FUCK YEAH, GUYS! CHARGE THROUGH THE PORTAL! FIRE WHEN TOLD, IN CASE OF OPERATION BANANA-78!"
At his command, the troops surged forward, firing as they dove through the portal. A few angels rushed to meet them but were quickly cut down. Frank pressed on, searching for any signs of living angels.
"CEASE FIRE!" he barked. The sounds of battle halted as the troops followed orders.
"Wait, I think I see one!" a soldier shouted.
Weapons rose, aimed at a lone angel sprinting toward them.
"Oi, STOP! WE ARE NOT LIKE THEM. THERE ARE CHILDREN HERE—ONLY KILL THOSE WHO ATTACK FIRST. THIS IS NOW DIPLOMACY-SCENARIO-23!"
The troops quickly redirected their aim, lowering their weapons. The angel halted, raising a hand in a gesture of peace.
Frank descended from his zeppelin, meeting the angel's gaze.
"I assume you're... the commander of this army?" it asked, surprised.
"One of them," Frank replied, his tone steely.
The angel processed his words, then continued, "I didn't expect you to have an actual army. I thought all souls here were just cowardly sinners. I'm impressed."
Frank's expression remained neutral. "I appreciate the compliment."
The angel smiled slightly, its confidence returning. "I have a deal for you."
"I'm not the one to negotiate with. I'll call down Charlie and her father to speak with the royalty."
The angel shook its head. "I need to negotiate with you specifically. You're the commander."
Frank stepped aside, allowing Lucifer and Charlie to take his place. The angel looked taken aback but retained its composure.
"Very well. Lucifer, Charlie, I have a deal I'd like this army to consider."
Frank returned to his troops, assisting where needed while keeping an ear on the ongoing conversation through the earpiece he implanted in Charlie's hair.
After a tense discussion, Lucifer and Charlie motioned for Frank to join them.
Charlie smiled. "Lucifer and this angel have come to an agreement. They realize they cannot win this fight. If we agree to a peace treaty, they'll spare our lives and won't invade again."
Frank scanned the treaty, cautious for any hidden traps. Everything appeared legitimate, but his instincts warned him. Lucifer nodded, affirming the treaty's integrity.
"I need to check on Squad 67," Frank said, glancing at his troops. "If you don't return in ten minutes, we'll assume you've been captured or killed. Satan's speed, Squad 67."
One soldier saluted, and the squad dashed toward Hell.
"Why are you sending them to Hell?" Charlie asked, concern etched on her face.
"They might have set another portal for an ambush or snuck in invisible soldiers while we weren't looking," Frank replied.
Minutes ticked by, and soon Squad 67 returned, visibly agitated.
"Anything to report?" Frank inquired.
"Yes, Sir! We confirmed the angels created another portal hidden somewhere in Hell. Our troops were ambushed by angels, and one of ours didn't make it back."
A fierce anger ignited within Frank as he glared at the angel.
The angel's confident facade crumbled, replaced by fear. It backed away, realizing the danger it was in, yet stood its ground.
Frank made a discreet gesture to his army, signaling them to leave the building. "Attack the rest of Heaven, but spare the innocents and children." Without hesitation, he shot the angel in every limb but the head.
As it writhed in pain, Frank ripped off its limbs, cauterizing the wounds before shoving it into a makeshift hostage box.
The angel, now powerless, stared at him in disbelief. Frank locked the box and exited the building, gathering the innocent and angelic children. He labeled the structure 'Hostage Building' as he secured it.
"Cease fire. Diplomacy Scenario 45 is now in effect until further notice," Frank announced, leading his forces toward the main government building where the Council of Heaven awaited.
Sera, the council leader, immediately noticed him, her expression shifting from worry to fear as she observed his army's firepower.
"Nice trick, making another portal behind our backs. We'll remember that next time," Frank said coldly.
Sera raised her hands, signaling surrender. She nodded, awaiting Frank's next command.
"Squad 54, gather the innocents and the children, including the mutilated angel." He gestured for them to bring everyone to him.
As they complied, Sera's face betrayed her anxiety. She tried to read Frank's intentions, but he remained stone-faced.
He spat on the ground at her feet. "We are not like you. We do not kill children nor those who don't deserve it. Take what little remains of this layer of Heaven and appreciate it. Next time one of your angels or innocents enters Hell, remember this. Remember what we are capable of. Yet we are merciful. You may keep the original portal open, but if you don't close the new one, all fifty layers of Heaven will feel our wrath, not just the first."
Sera's confidence evaporated. She looked down at the spit, understanding the gravity of Frank's words. She nodded, and the other angels followed suit.
Frank led his army back through the original portal, staring intently at the new one until it closed, sealing the link between realms.
Turning to his troops, he raised his voice, "Guys... now we make this day a yearly holiday and throw a winning-against-Heaven party!"
Cheers erupted from the army, celebrating Frank's idea as they returned to the depths of Hell, ready to prepare for the festivities.
But Frank lingered behind, heading to where Squad 67 had lost a comrade. There, he held a small memorial service, honoring the fallen hero who had given everything for his squad.
As the rest of the troops began to celebrate, Frank stayed a moment longer, reflecting on the sacrifice made in battle.
Finally, he made his way to the medical supplies, tossing a stash through the portal for the angels—a gesture of mercy amid the chaos. They, too, must be grieving, and Frank believed in showing kindness even to his enemies.
