In the amazing world of Pokémon, there is a great abundance of mysterious yet awe-inspiring creatures that grace every nook and cranny of our beautiful planet in numbers that may never be truly known in their entirety. Flying in the skies above as great masters of the heavens, walking among the land as caretakers and helpmates of the Earth, and swimming in the deepest oceans, there isn't a single place where you can't find Pokémon. While most are common, there are those that are considered rare. There are those that live alongside humans while others live solitary lives in their natural environment. There are even those that form vast communities. In any case, they all express life in their unique ways. With Pokémon setting off larger-than-life, breath-taking forms with equal majesty and miniature, this world truly is a world of wonder with so much to discover.
In a world such as this, there are also humans that explore it, wanting to know all that it has to offer. These people are known as Pokémon Trainers who catch and train Pokémon, learning more about them and even creating ever-lasting bonds with them. Starting their journey at the age of sixteen, Trainers are given their first Pokémon to accompany them on their journey. Trainers are given the choice out of three, each one of the three main beginning Types: plant-based Grass Types, blazing hot Fire Types, and cool Water Types. As these are offered at the beginning of Trainer's journey, they have been given the common nickname known as "Starter Pokémon". Of course, those are only three of the many known Types of Pokémon with many more yet to be discovered. From there on, Trainers are allowed to choose what they want to do on their journey, even going to specialize with different types. There are many paths that a Trainer can take: they can challenge other Trainers and have their Pokémon go against others in Pokémon Battles, helping them grow in strength and even taking part in tournaments such as the Pokémon League; they can do performances with their Pokémon, doing amazing and spectacular tricks for many to enjoy and compete in Pokémon Contests; Perform daring rescues as Pokémon Rangers; to help heal Pokémon as nurses and doctors at Pokémon Centers; enforcing the law as members of the police; or even becoming a Pokémon Researcher, going for a pursuit of knowledge and helping learn even more about Pokémon and make new discoveries. Whatever they decide to do, the journey they take helps Trainers strengthen the bonds between them and their Pokémon as well as inspire future generations of Trainers to come. It's also this sort of thing that inspires people to bring on great change and there were people who brought on big change to the world.
By the 1960s, Fazmon Science Incorporated had become the largest commercial entity in the Kalos Region with just about every home containing their products as well as their political and financial influence being felt everywhere. The company was founded by two Pokémon Researchers: Professor Henry Emily and Doctor William Afton. Professor Emily started as an engineer who made animatronics and showcased them in music performance for kids to enjoy. While he did pretty well and his animatronics were popular, Professor Emily had one dream which was to actually create a special type of Pokémon for kids who are too young to become Trainers to enjoy, ones that might even become their partners the day they do become Trainers. But his dream was something he couldn't achieve on his own due to his expertise only being in robotics and not in any other science. Though this all changed when he met Doctor Afton was a scientist in robotics and genetics who shared the same dream. Not much is known about Doctor Afton aside from a few of his experiments which had resulted in failure. From that day forward, the two worked together and eventually managed to achieve their goal in creating a new breed of Pokémon which were a combination of technology and biology.
How they make these Pokémon is quite a difficult process. In developing their designs, they start out with a cybernetic endoskeleton which will then be placed into a case in the form of the Pokémon they want, both made of a special metal. From there, they then select DNA from different Pokémon that correspond to the Pokémon they intend to make and then add the DNA into a serum which the case will react to. After placing the covered endoskeleton in a special chamber which will be flooded with the serum. From there, the chamber is then given a surge of elemental energy which will cause the metal to transform into organic material. A brain develops within the endoskeleton which will then develop a nervous system that will attach to the cybernetic components, connecting them with the brain. From there, it forms eyes, a tongue, organs, and a layer of flesh and muscle around the organs and endoskeleton. Eventually, it will then form skin which will then grow hair. This process also rids the chamber of liquid, leaving only the newly created Pokémon. This might sound confusing and impossible, but this is a reason why this has become possible. This was due to two special factors which were included by the scientists. The elemental energy used for each Pokémon comes from the use of Tera Jewels from the Paldea Region which Professor Emily saw as to not only allow the endoskeleton to have an organic layer but to give the Pokémon their Types as well. But the most important factor was given by Doctor Afton, this being used in creating the metal and the serum, and that is Remnant.
What is Remnant, you ask? It's a type of energy discovered by Doctor Afton. This energy is the physical manifestation of one's memories and emotions. This energy can be given off by any living thing with very intense emotions. The energy can also have an effect on living creatures such as affecting their behavior. Unless contained, it can easily get scattered like dust in the wind which leaves it faint. That's the reason why nobody had known about until Doctor Afton's discovery. With his discovery, Doctor Afton had found that Remnant come as two types depending on emotions and the kinds of memories those emotions came from. The first of them is Light Remnant which is made from positive emotions and good memories, this kind able to make people feel positive. The other is Dark Remnant which is made from negative emotions and bad memories, making people feel awful and often scared. What helped him make this discovery was his research in Ghost-Type Pokémon. As it turns out, Ghost-Type Pokémon were actually made out of Dark Remnant which explains their mischievous and often nasty behavior. Of course, Fazmon Science doesn't use the Remnant of Ghost-Types, but of other Types. The way they obtain it is through special technology which can collect Remnant from Pokémon while they sleep, for it is believed that dreams are often where one can feel intense emotions. They make sure that only Light Remnant is used in creating their Pokémon. The combination of the supernatural Remnant and the elemental properties of Tera Jewel energy is what causes the phenomena that in turn creates the Pokémon. It allows the endoskeleton to become like an organic skeleton and the casing to become the rest of what the Pokémon needs with the DNA to guide it. To make them more unique, they used a combination of Remnant of multiple different Pokémon.
So far, Fazmon Science has managed to create four breeds of Pokémon. The first is Plursa the Plush Pokémon, a Steel and Normal-Type. Plursa enjoys playing with children and dances whenever it is happy. Despite its normally kind nature, Plursa will defend its Trainer from harm at all cost. The second is Bundly the Friend Pokémon, another Steel and Normal-Type. Bundly is kind and compassionate and will comfort their Trainer if they are sad or troubled. It uses its long ears to hug others and give them warm comfort. Third is Chicake the Sweets Pokémon, a Steel and Fairy-Type. Chicake's body is extremely soft and gives off a sweet aroma which attracts wild Pokémon. It stays by its Trainer's side and produces candy on its back which it shares with those it meets. The fourth is Vulpup the Companion Pokémon, a Steel and Normal Type. Vulpup is extremely loyal to their Trainer, never leaving their side and protecting them from danger. Gender plays a role in their personality with males being adventurous and bold while females being sweet and playful. They are designed to be kid-friendly and to help them on their Pokémon journey once they are old enough to become Trainers, so it made sense that they would be like this. With their success and their Pokémon becoming popular amongst children, Fazmon Science soon began distributing the Pokémon around the world by the time the 1970s began. They even developed other businesses where children could play and even get one of the very Pokémon that were created as they were the perfect gift for those who dreamed of becoming Trainers. Fazmon Science proved themselves to not only be a good business, but helpful members to the community.
But where there is light, there is also darkness and nothing is always as it seems to be. Hiding within the shadows lie secrets. Some secrets lie hidden while others refuse to remain buried. These kinds of secrets are those of which can change one's view on themselves, others, or even their whole world. Some may show one something wonderful or something dark and terrible. When those secrets come to light, one may find a truth that can rattle even bravest to their very core.
Author's Note: Hey, guys! I hope you all enjoyed the prologue. As this is the first book of the series, I've tried my best to make it like an introduction to the world of Pokémon while also giving a bit of an eerie vibe at the end like with horror movies as it is with Five Nights at Freddy's. And if how this prologue ended didn't creep you out, then how the first chapter starts might. Anyway, that's all I got for now. Don't forget to leave a comment to tell me what you think. To all my readers, see you all in the next chapter!
