12:45 am, saturday

I was waiting over an hour for Sam when I gave up and went looking for him at Emily's, I pulled on my cloth shorts and sports bra before walking through the driveway to find Sam's truck is gone. Emily always leaves on the porch light and the hallway light going from the living on the right side if you're facing the room from the kitchen wall, the hallway consists of two small rooms. The bathroom was the only one I've seen and cared to see. It's dark within the small rustic cabin from on the rocky driveway. I listened to the stillness within the air, I didn't like the eerie chill in the atmosphere. The driveway and porch smelt like them, barely noticeable but distinctively there, the rain that fell two hours ago washed most of it away, I couldn't hear anything, and I hated this. I couldn't decipher the abnormal. A loose floorboard creaked under my bare feet when I stepped on it to knock lightly on the door, as soon as my knuckles came into contact with the wooden door, opening it slowly. The scents that spilled out of the crack sent a chill of dismay down my spine, I inhaled a sharp beep breath through my nose, thick scents of Sam and Emily and a strong scent of blood. My mind began to swirl with possible horrific events that happened to them, I prayed I was hallucinating.

My head began to spin as the energy of the atmosphere was settling in my bones.

My wolf growled uneasily, I gritted my teeth at the scent of rotting flesh and fish laced with toxic caustic, a heavy feeling of supernaturally ominous events within. Jacob huffed from the tree line out of sight, I glanced back at him, I flashed at him my index finger before pushing the door open more.

I waited for a few moments, "Sam? Em?"

I was greeted by silence and more of those scents I was praying I was hallucinating, I walked into the small space. I moved like it was Christmas Eve waiting for Santa Claus to appear with a bright red sack and a merry attitude. I walked through the kitchen and dining room to the living room, the breeze outside blew lightly against the cabin but it was silent as a mouse. My nose scrunched up at the scent stinging my nostrils and making me involuntary growl lowly within my chest. It's not a vampire, nowhere near a cold one, this is different it made me more uneasy. looked around the living room, Sam was face down on the couch, I can smell his blood. I looked down at the silky feeling of hair under my toes of my right foot, I blanched as I reached for the table lamp.

My stomach churned when I was greeted with the sight of blood everywhere, and when I mean everywhere I mean the blood was everywhere, in a huge puddle on the floor trailing into the front room, blood sprays on the wall on the furniture. Soaking the carpet and the clothes on their bodies, their blood was on my feet, Sam had bite marks all over his arms, slashes all over his body. The scent of venom stung my nose harshly with every breath, Emily was staring up at the ceiling, her face etched in petrification, her torso was open,

there was nothing inside of her. No organs, half of her ribcage was broken apart. No heart, lungs…, kidneys, liver, pancreas, intestines, not even her reproduction system, digestive system. Nothing a shell, her face, her eyes, she had a gash the right side of her head.

I memorized the scent of the creature as I began to tremble uncontrollably as my eyes flickered all over the room, memorizing. Squatting down I closed Emily's lifeless eyes and checked on Sam, I had a lot of hope that I could at least save him. I turned him over, I shrieked before falling on my ass and scrambling to my feet and backing up until my back hit the wall. His throat gaping open where blood slowly trickled out, his chest was gaping open where his heart had been. My stomach churned violently, I never ran so fast in my life and released my stomach on the driveway. Jacob whined softly stopping a few feet in front of me as I spit out what was remaining in my mouth. I put my hands on my knees grief took over my body making me tremble with tears welling up in my eyes, every stage of grief racking throughout my body. Jacob moved away as I phased my mind unfolding everything that bouncing wildly in my brain, Emily's lifeless body, Sam gruesomely murdered with that disgusting scent of a bloodsucker that was responsible.

I never got to make up with him. My mind unfolding memories of Sam helping me through phasing, helping me with Paul.

He provided a comfort I wasn't getting because of being able to explode into a massive red wolf, he grieved with me. After spending two weeks within his mind, all of their minds we all knew each other like the back of our hands, and unbreakable siblinghood.

Jacob snarled as he ran ahead of me following the trail of the leech, I threw my head back and allowed the chorus of howls building up in my chest. Alerting danger, calling my pack and announcing a fallen brother.

Kill the bitch, Jacob. I growled watching through his eyes as he gained on the dark haired vampire.

Was already planning on it. A beautiful plan formed in his head, I agreed and changed direction. He was deeply disturbed by my own memories, none of us were able to speak with Sam civilly for a while and were unable to mend that bond now.

A chorus of three howls in different directions in front of us and at different times alerting enemies of back up.

What happened? Jared asked after phasing in after running out of Kim's parents three bedroom house, they were right in the middle of serious intimate moment, he was pissed he had to stop right in the middle. Kim was beyond annoyed and I was pretty sure by the memory of her face from his mind, she was thinking of ways to kill me.

Embry phased in from sneaking out of his bedroom window, waking him out of deep slumber scaring him straight and worrying him. He immediately had thought about Jacob or Quil, What's going on? Who's dead? What happened?

Is everyone okay? Is it a leech? Paul phased from sneaking out of Bella's bedroom, he was also thinking about his conversation with Bella and Seth, they talked about a lot of things since he arrived at 9.

Sam and Emily were murdered. Jacob and I chasing after the leech to the northwest. Paul stay near the imprints, Jared stay near the counsel members, let Dad know what happened. My mind unfolding memories again, And possible pack members. Embry, get over here.

The chase started there. Paul and Jared turning in different directions setting up their positions.

Jacob lounged forward as I was closing in on her left, she looked over at me snarled before turning and swatting Jacob away and jumping into the trees. Jacob noted how she didn't feel icy like Laurent.

Fucking bitch. Jacob snarled as he recovered and started chasing after her again.

I was openly aware of the forest in front of me as I watched her movements in the trees, she swung from branch to branch slowing her down. Plans forming in my head for different possibilities when she decided to realize she was slowing herself down being a coward. Embry was catching up with us as she changed direction towards the town, I dug my paws in the Earth to launch myself forward to catch up with her. Time passed as she continued to change direction and I slowly started to realize she was trying to tire us out. With a plan forming in my head when she dropped down and changed direction, and it was perfect she did, she left herself vulnerable for all of us to ambush her at different angles.

She was really pissing me off. Paul could smell her in the wind as he was rounding around Charlie's house after rounding Kim's. Jared phased back in from running off my father's porch, returning back to route. The female hissed me at from above swinging from tree to tree like a chimp, she fell down from the branch she launched herself to that broke up on her weight, she dodged Embry's attack. We chased her what seemed to be a circle I realized after a few minutes. I changed our angles, maybe catch her off guard, it worked somewhat.

I went launch after her and maybe tackle her to at least get an advantage for the plan to work, she turned as I opened my mouth to reveal my open jaws ready and claws out to land the attack. Her right fist raised with violet ribbons bursting from her white marble flesh and banding around her wrist. My eyes widened at the redness of her irises that consumed her pupil, what disturbed me more was jaw unhinging slowly one side at a time. Her attack was faster than any vampire I encountered, her fist collided into my chest knocking me out instantly.

Slaps on my cheeks made me stir from the quiet darkness, I could hear my pack mates bickering like children. I swatted away the hands slapping my face, my eyes opened to Paul looking down at me, he put his hands up in surrender. I sat up I went to push him back but he didn't budge.

"Paul." I glared at him trying to push him away from me when I realized his squatting over me.

His eyes flickered down and back up to my face, "I don't think you want Jared and the twins to see you like this."

"Oh please, like we haven't seen your memories of having sex with her, do you really think it matters now?" Jacob asked curtly handing me clothes without looking at me.

Paul stood up and moved, Jared covered his eyes and turned around as Embry froze like a deer staring at my chest.

"Oh like you haven't replaced me with yourself in your dreams." Paul torments as I rushed to cloth myself.

"Shut the fuck up." Jacob growled.

"Why? Maybe you'd get a chance," Paul says, he double overs when I punched him in his dick, Embry clears his throat and glanced over at Jared.

"Shut up, Paul," I growled and looked up at Jacob, "What happened?"

Jacob looked down at me, "she disappeared once she punched you."

I sighed, "okay." I didn't feel right, something felt very wrong and I couldn't place it. Something was very wrong with me.

"Mi," Jared fidgeted with his hands, "Sam and Emily weren't the only victims."

By his tone, I started undressing again to phase, "Let's go."

I threw up on the driveway after seeing three more bead bodies just like Emily's, two townspeople and Harry Clearwater. The images made me vomit up stomach acid since there was nothing in my stomach since noon, I wanted this night to end. My head was pounding with exhaustion and my stomach churned even with nothing to my stomach.

This night needs to end. I threw the nearest branch, Paul ducked and ran away from me, I sighed I wasn't even trying to hit him.

"I'm sorry," I apologized.

He huffed at me from thirty feet away.

We didn't stop patrolling until after 10 am, the boys were absolutely pooped out, after we all ate up most of the food in my father's fridge Paul passed out in the hallway snoring loudly alerting everyone he was done for the rest of the day. Jared was on the verge of a heart attack if he couldn't get to Kim, Embry passed out as soon as Jared left just like Paul he was snoring on the wooden floor of the kitchen. Jacob was just as pooped but he forced himself awake with a whole lot of coffee which I shared with him.

We were on red alert, we needed rest but how could rest with a threat greater than a lone vampire?

I didn't know what time it was or what day it was when I walked across the driveway of Charlie's new house with Sue Clearwater, Bella and Seth, Charlie's cruiser wasn't in the driveway. Dad called him not too long ago, Dad had come up with a cover story for the deaths to tell Charlie. I just prayed Charlie believed it, it would easier telling him the truth then he would know why the pack would around, but it was too great of a risk. Sue's car was in the driveway, I had to deliver the bad news and knight Sue into the counsel. Well, I won't but I had to bring her to Dad if the cover story with Charlie worked. I ran a hand through my hair before I went to knock on the door but before my knuckles touched the wood, Bella opened the door with Seth behind her.

Their faces fell when they scrutinized my facial expression, my face etched in that same expression I had seen in my bathroom mirror, grief, exhaustion, horror, by their clothes they just got from school. Or maybe it's been a couple hours, the smell of food filtering through their scents like a warm, loving bowl of hot soup.

"Naomi, what happened?" Bella asked reaching out to me.

"Are you okay?" Seth asked, his voice full of concern.

I let Bella take my hand, I went to speak when Sue came into view.

"Naomi?" Sue inquired, Bella and Seth parted as she walked over, "what's wrong sweetheart? Why are you dressed like that? Get in here, it's too col-." She snatched her hand away from my arm, she placed her hands on my face, "You're burning up. Are you okay?"

"I have bad news." I replied in a low tone.

"Come in," Sue pulled me inside the house. "Sit, please, I'll get some tea," I didn't get to protest when she was already hustling away.

I sunk into the couch cushions with Bella and Seth sitting close to me, my eye lids fluttered as I let out an exhausted sigh.

"Uh oh, she's going to fall asleep," Bella said as she padded my thigh.

My eye lids fluttered as I tried to fight off the exhaustion, " Jake, make sure he's safe. He's outside. Jared too, he never called when he was at Kim's. Paul and Embry are at Dad's sleeping." I managed to get out before my exhaustion pulled into sleep from right under my feet.

I looked at Naomi noticing she was falling asleep, I haven't seen her since Friday afternoon it's Tuesday. I haven't seen any of the wolves since, neither has Seth, the dark circles under her eyes were prominent and her head resting on the back of the couch. I've seen her this exhausted before when we had pulled an all nighter during a sleepover and by Saturday evening we were both sleeping until Sunday morning. It was fondest memories with Naomi. She was unlike other girls, nothing like Angela or Jessica, not even like Alice.

They had nothing on her beauty or character.

Childish humor, sarcastic and had her own personal comeback dictionary, she was alpha now. A title that brought too many responsibilities for an almost 16 year old girl, a 16 year old girl that was unbelievably erratic in a way that made her seem immature in more ways than one. But once you got through her hard exterior I first noticed when I started coming around in November after ignoring her since January when I met Edward. The only girl in the world I was able to relate too, the only girl in the world that was able to pick out my emotions just by one look.

If it wasn't for her, I'd probably be having nightmares, or hallucinations or even suicidal thoughts if Naomi didn't make herself a pest when she found out he left me in the woods. She was bonfire by herself, dangerously beautiful, warm, bright and her bite was the flames. Her eyelids fluttered closed.

"Uh oh," I glanced at Seth who was staring at her, "she's falling asleep," I padded her thigh again.

"Jake…," she murmured tiredly fighting to open her eyes, "make sure he's okay… he's outside…," She forced her eyes to open but she squeezed my hand letting me know she was here. Seth's fingers were hovering over a large dark bruise square in her chest. "Jared, never called when he was at Kim's…, Paul and Embry, are at Dad's… sleeping." She was asleep as soon as the last word was out.

Sue sighed as a howl rang through the air but Naomi didn't move, "I wonder when we'll see those wolves. They've been around more frequently."

An shriek I've never heard from came from behind the house with more answering howling, Naomi shot up from the couch startling all of us.

"Get in that hall closet!" She ordered as she jumped over the couch and disappeared into the other room.

How does she know about the hall closet? More shrieking outside making me freeze in my place staring at Sue whom started shaking out of fear, the mug falling from her hand to the floor as she stared at the windows behind the couch by five foot distance.

"What are you three still doing in here?!" Naomi demanded, I gasped in shock at her hand wrapping around my wrist tightly. She grabbed Seth by his face, he was locked in a state of shock, "Hey, Hey, look at me. Seth, hey, it's okay. Look at me, hey, everything is going to be okay. I need you to do something for me okay?" Seth nodded stuck on Naomi, so was I, she was the only thing that was safe in this moment, "You guys need to get into that hall closet, you guys need to protect each other. The only time you leave this house is if she's inside, the only time you leave the house if one of you is alive." Naomi turns to me with shrieking ringing through the air, and the sounds of multiple barking, she grabbed my face like she did Seth's, I took a deep breath through my nose, "Fucking fight with everything that you got in you, do you understand me?" Her brown/black eyes were on fire, I swore I seen Native American tribal markings flash in black ink on her skin only for a second before it was gone.

Shrieking right outside rounding the right side of the house, Sue shrieked as Naomi spun around, time slowed down as a black blurry figure was lounging right for Sue whom was a deer in headlights. I couldn't breathe, nor could I speak but the scream that vibrated my throat made my instincts kick in as Naomi landed a right hook before the figure could collide with Sue. Seth and I ran for the hall closet as Naomi picked Sue right off her feet running in front of us, she beat us there already placing a hysterical Sue down who reached after her. Naomi grabbed me up my underarms and sat me down in the right corner, intertwining my fingers with Sue's.

"Mi!" Seth cried as she pushed him down into the left corner.

Looking behind Naomi there was a woman there, her eyes weren't normal. Not even vampire normal, sickly pale skin but reflecting light like marble, the air around seemed to still, heavy. She wasn't a vampire. Her limbs trembling, her breathing heavy as she forced herself not to phase, she closed the door too soon. We were greeted by pitch black and a hand to hand combat in the hallway, for one I couldn't believe I couldn't hear her transformation.

Was she really fist fighting that creature? I've seen her fist fighting with Jacob last Friday, neither of them had phased and I didn't know what it was but I could feel the heaviness of that creatures aura. Naomi's restraint, but there was a power in there that was light but it was a different kind of powerful force. They're supernatural beings, then they would go off energy. Supernatural energy, you couldn't see it but you could feel it, the differences.

You need to be in that closet, you need to protect each other. My own brain interrupted my thought train. I looked for an object of defense in the cramped dark closet of jackets, a loud smash of breaking wood outside the door made me jump. Sounds of fighting before a loud high pitched shriek along with deep barking outside, just beyond this wall.

It went silent, I stopped breathing. A moment later I heard a ominous chuckle.

"You're no alpha."

Oh no. My head began to spin, I can't breathe.

"She's hurt," Seth whispered.

Rapid footsteps on the floorboards, Sue pulled us towards her breathing heavily whispering prayers.

"You fucking sick bitch!" It was Paul the rapid footsteps came towards Seth room, I was going lightheaded, "Jake!" Loud snarling was all I heard before I put my head between my knees.

Startled gasps from my new family and the door opening made my heart sink.

"You alright?" Paul asked helping me to my feet.

I looked down at the long four deep slashes on the left side of my waist, I groaned in pain looking down at the destroyed desk I was thrown into, my blood was staining the broken wood and floor. The wounds were already begging to heal.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Are we clear?" I asked looking around the room and movement in the window of a red and tan.

Jacob stuck his massive head in the window, he huffed with a nod of his head.

"Do a round, meet at Dad's in 40." They both nodded I walked out of the room as Paul jumped out the open undamaged window.

I grabbed a black towel from the hamper in the hallway that seemed to survive in the first fight. I remembered that feeling within in my veins, in my bones when I landed a upper cut into her abdomen that seemed to cause damage; that only pissed her off, and resulted in my battle scars and the broken desk. I put it on my wounds and opened the hallway closet door Bella had her head between her knees, Sue was hysterically crying I would be too, Seth was okay by the expression in his eyes he was more worried about me.

I smirked crookedly, "It's not as bad as it looks, I promise. Pack a bag, we're going to Dad's until further notice. Charlie's already there."

"What happened?! What's been going on?!"

I winced at Sue's raised voice, her fear wore off and after Dad spilled the beans on the legends to the soon to be married couple, I guess there was rage more than actual questions. The volume of voice hurt with the heightened senses.

"La Push has been under attack as of Friday night. Sam and Emily were killed, Sunday morning a couple was headed to church they were killed before they were out of the driveway. A few hours later so was… Harry." Dad shut down after that, I looked up from dabbing at the healing slashes on my waist.

Grief thickened the atmosphere to suffocation and I sliced it with a knife. None of my pack was here yet, I said 40 minutes it's been over an hour.

"We don't know what they are, there's been two of them. The female was the first and she attacked again today, they were both here on Sunday. Male and female. They're a greater threat than Victoria, or Cold One's to be more dramatic." I looked down at my wounds, blood was slowly seeping out of the mending flesh, "Whatever it is that they want so far is death, whatever it truly is that they want, I don't know. I don't know if I care to find out, and I don't know if these creatures are siding with Victoria or not. Either way, we're on high alert, I don't know if they're going to come back tonight or in a couple days." I looked out the window before doing a round around the house.

"So what does that mean?" Charlie asked, low mood but not angry, not yet maybe.

"We can't call the police?" Sue inquired.

I glanced her way, "The police can't do anything against this, Sue," I sat down at the kitchen table with Seth and Bells. "Bullets can't stop reflective flesh and flesh eating demons, gotta go full ball of fur and claws from here on out."

"Flesh eating?" that word was a crook of voices, the scent of fear hung heavily in the air.

I nodded, I sat forward hearing rapid footsteps outside. The front door swings open, Jacob bustles in the front room searching hastily until he found me.

"Mi, Kim's house been attacked," Jakes voice is hinted with dismay.

"What?" I never moved so fast in my life out of a chair, I glanced at Dad as I went to follow Jacob out the door.

"So was three more civilians," He informs, his arms trembling.

"Go, I got them." Dad says his eyes deep with worry.

"Nobody leaves the house, for any reason." I looked back at Seth whom stood from the table, I winked at him but I closed the front door behind me. "Where's Jared?"

"MIA."

"Fuck." We ran into the tree line across the street disappearing from sight.

Even though she winked at me, it still didn't calm me down, I'm absolutely useless in this situation. I can't protect her from them even if I tried, they would eat me. But they could kill her. I couldn't protect her from that. I wanted to protect her so bad, it was a constant unsettling feeling I couldn't shake.

"She's going to be alright," Billy reassures running a hand through his hair, "she always comes back," he says with a stressed sigh.

I looked at the door and the place she just was not even a couple of feet away from me, I couldn't think logically enough to ease my nerves. More attacks, that would mean more deaths. They killed Sam, Sam was one of them, Emily, my cousin. Innocent people in town, my father.

This was one of the worst days of my life. I was already preparing after his years long with of alcoholism, I knew one day it would get to him, but at the same time, I wanted to mourn for him. How can you mourn someone you barely knew? He wasn't the best father, mom raised me by herself mostly, along with Leah. Raised us to be kind, always be aware of yourself mind and body, responsible, hard-working, well-mannered, strong morals, standards.

Stay away from people like Dad. Always escaping from themselves, he was the best of friends with Elias Lahote, Paul's father. Two peas in a pod, just like Charlie and Billy. Expect Charlie and Billy had addiction to sports, they only yelled or threw things at the tv, not at their children and/or partners or family members.

I was extremely grateful Leah wasn't here, she didn't need to be in this. Neither of the rest of them. Kids… All of us, kids, we shouldn't be worrying about the very lives of people instead of be worrying about school, cars, dances, the movies, food, phones. Maybe even sex, normal teenage lifestyle. Babies, dating, pimples, strange body odors.

Wait, Jared's missing. Jared's missing? What if he was just like Sam, dead. I began to spiral. Were the rest of them okay? Was Naomi okay? I mean is she really really okay? I jumped startled as the land phone ringing breaking through the silence, Bella got to the phone first.

"This is the Black residence, Bella speaking," She says as she looked at the parents.

Charlie was staring at the floor boards distance, Mom was praying and Billy was looking at Bella. I turned to her hearing her gasp.

"Carlisle?" Bella stared wide eyed at Billy, hope brightening her face, "No, she just left not too long ago…, yes, he's here. Okay." Bella removed the phone away from her ear, "Carlisle wants to speak with you Billy."

I sat back down at the table and rested my head on my arms, my body was heavy as a 10 ton weight, my skull was beginning to pulse with a migraine from sleep deprivation. I couldn't fall asleep if I wanted too, my worry for Naomi made my head hurt more.

"Hello, this is Billy… Midnight Saturday, Sam and Emily were the first victims. A wolf and his mate. Sunday morning a couple was killed and one of our counsel members…," Billy looked down at the floor, "We were attacked over an hour ago, two of our wolves mates were attacked within the house… No, they're okay… She left to find one of our missing wolves…, yes his mates house was attacked… I don't know, our town has been attacked again. Three more…," We all looked up to the front door opening, Jacob came barging in with Paul unconscious before setting him on the floor.

My eyebrows raised at Embry carrying an unconscious Jared before putting him down next to Paul. I stood up at the wounds all over Jared's torso, Naomi's smaller frame pushed between Jacob and Embry. The wound on her waist was healing and was nowhere near from reopening, she put her ear down on Jared's chest.

"Check the houses! Go!" Naomi adjured swatting at Jacobs shin.

Jacob and Embry were out of the house as Billy filled in 'Carlisle', and Naomi tried to get Paul and Jared to wake up, I didn't register I was kneeling next to Paul staring at Jared with a gaping hole in his chest. I didn't have to look long or hard enough to know he was gone, Paul has wounds but none of them were life-threatening. Bella put pressure on a wound on his abdomen with a towel, I couldn't move as I looked back up at Naomi frantically trying to get Jared to start breathing. My previous worries were correct, and she was frantically trying to bring him back.

"Mi," I reached out for her arm, I pulled it back hesitant, "Mi, he's gone."

Naomi's shoulders shook as she lifted her shaking hands away from Jared, the underside of her hands covered in blood. Her shaking hands faced her, her hair parted for a moment and my heart sank at the utter brokenness etched all over her face. I went to reach out for her again but Bella beat me to it.

"I'll tell her," Billy says hanging up the phone.

A loud howl rang throughout the sky in the direction of the forest across the street pass the rocky driveway. Naomi and Bella pulled away and Naomi looked out the open doorway, Bella backed up as Naomi slammed her fist down on Paul's chest. Nothing happened, he didn't wake up and throw insults at her like I was expecting.

"Naomi, the Cullen's are here. They're waiting for you at the border." Billy announced, she looked up at him.

"Fucking wake up!" She slammed both fists down on Paul's chest.

Nothing happened again.

Bella lifted Paul's arm and place his hand on her breast, my face broke into shock, "Bella," I missed, that ugly monster rising in my chest.

"It's going to work, trust me," Bella defended.

"Bella!" Charlie called curtly.

"Naomi?" Paul sat up, he was in a state of confusion.

I felt my face fall, heat trailing down my spine, I glanced over at Billy. Charlie, Sue, and Billy were already looking at me, Billy's eyebrows furrowed as he stared back at me.

"Alright!" I heard Naomi slap Paul's hand away. "There are other ways to wake him up, Bells."

I looked back at Bella shrugging as she pushed hair behind her ear, "I thought it would be the fastest," I looked away from Bella before she glanced my way.

I looked down at Jared's face next to my thigh, his eyes are closed and his blood was pooling on the floor, the blood soaking my shins. I felt… different, my head filling with fog that made my brain feel cramped, my skin was on fire and the more I looked down at Jared's lifeless body the more I feeling something stir in my chest. Doing everything I could to not think about Paul's hand on her breast, his hand in the girls breast that I loved. Jealous was an ugly monster I realized it seeing them together in company, there was no way that you couldn't say Paul was head over heels for her, and I didn't like it at all.

Everyone knows how they can be, everyone knows how they were, he had her first and I wasn't Paul. Even though Bella has said that they aren't together in a previous conversation, but I can just feel how much he wanted to be with her. If it wasn't clear on Friday when he had her in his arms, I wanted to tears his arms off and break every finger in his hands for squeezing her butt.

That was my butt.

Wait. It's not my butt but it is.

"Careful now, don't start something you can't finish," Paul tormented.

My hands started shaking that spread to my shoulders and shivered down my spine, my gaze landed on Paul.

"I didn't do it. Stop it. Let's go," Naomi adjured, a tone of voice that always made other feelings within me rise that I didn't understand.

"Seth, you okay?" Bella asked but I didn't look at her.

Paul looked in my direction, his smile never left his face, we stared at each other for a long moment. Paul shifted I can see him putting up a defense.

"Boys, we don't have time for this," Billy interjects.

"What's with you, Clearwater?" Paul eyed me.

"Would you stop with the comments?" I hissed, the trembling in my arms spreading to my legs.

Paul eyed me again as we both stood up to face each other.

"We don't have time for this." Naomi shoved herself between us, keeping one of her hands placed on my chest, "We are currently under attack with the Cullen's at the border. We'll pick this up when we're in the clear. Paul, bring Jared outside wait for me in the tree line."

Paul glared back at me as he walked to the front door with Jared over his shoulder, "I got you in my sights, Clearwater."

"Hey," Naomi stepped into my view, beautiful as ever, her high cheek ones, her smooth skin, the thickness of her eyelashes. "Are you okay?" I am now, I was so worried before.

I hate the feeling like I was going to lose her, I wanted to tell her I wanted to go with her, I wanted to do something. Anything, anything in the world that could help her. But I didn't, I couldn't make her stressed, I had to let her know I was okay. My problem minimalist to hers, they could be known later, I just wanted her to come home safe. I wanted everything to be normal. Would things be different if none of them phased? Would I still have a chance?

Her eyes searched mine, I smiled for her, "yeah," it was a forced smile and I knew she knew that, "I'm okay."

My attempt of easing her nerves was unsuccessful.

"Naomi!" Paul yelled from across the road.

"I got to go," She said before kissing my cheek and she filed out the door with two howls ringing throughout the air.

I felt my face heat up as the heat of her lips tingled where her lips connected, the rest of my body felt cold. The stupid smile on my face was stuck even as Bella teased me.
