The Void in the Magic
ESKK: Sorry for the delay here is chapter five of my Harry Potter Warframe crossover.
(Start Scotland Dumbledore's Office Hogwarts)
Dumbledore sat in his office he looked down at the two letters before him. One was from Hermione Grangers parents and the other was of course from Lily. When McGonagall received the letter at first, she was livid but held her tongue for the time being. She understood that these trying times many parents were quite fearful for their children's wellbeing. Still, that didn't mean that Minerva would not give Dumbledore something of a cold shoulder.
In front of him were the letters stating that Harry Potter and Hermione Granger were no longer attending Hogwarts followed by the reasoning for this decision. The moment Fudge learns of this he would no doubt use it against him in some way stating how Hogwarts was no longer safe or some similar drivel. The Lawsuit against the Ministry had gone through added the fact that Lily, now the Regent Potter, was there and confirmed Sirius was innocent this put Lily and Sirius in the position to milk the Ministry. More so seeing as the Potter and Black accounts overshadow whatever Lucius has access to after Narcissa was cut off meant that if Lucius is arrested, he can't bribe his way out like he used to.
More so without Lucius financial backing Voldemort's forces have suffered a crippling blow to their movement. Dumbledore was smart enough to know that an army needs supplies and without funds their logistics suffer. Voldemort is a brute yes but a brute who surrounded himself with those who can acquire resources. Lucius was chief amongst them and while Lucius still breaths the loss of the Blacks Fortune had dealt a severe blow. Malfoy may be rich but now he was only half as rich as he used to be.
But in recent times Snape had news to report. The Death Eaters after suffering assassinations by the Tenno have started moving in herds as it were. Basically, they hardly leave their homes and when they do, they don't stray they go out, do what they need to do and come straight back. This tactic has kept the Death Eaters from being picked off by the Tenno more so since they were using crowded places to hide. Still the loss of the Elder Wand was crippling to Dumbledore as he had expected to die in losing that wand. This was not the as Lily had taken it off of him via disarming him only.
The minute Tom finds out that Dumbledore's power has been halved he won't hesitate to capitalize on it. They had to make sure Voldemort doesn't find out about this not until Dumbledore has devices a way to save as many people as he can. Voldemort now holds the advantage and the mere fact he doesn't know this is what prevents the Dark Lord from overtly attacking. Still the Tenno were of note, Dumbledore knew not what sort of power they had... but somehow it frightened him. Whatever dark power Lily has allied herself with he feared it may drive her down an even darker path.
(Scene Break Lily Diagon Alley)
Lily was walking through Diagon Alley as she carried herself as a noble would in this society. Harry and Hermione were at home at the moment studying for their upcoming OWLs that they would be taking via correspondence. Lily knew it hurt both of them, but it was for their own good to keep them both out of Hogwarts. But as she stated with the Grangers Hogwarts was no longer safe for either Harry or Hermione especially seeing as Dumbledore allows such incidents to occur every year. The bigotry and the dangers of that school was not one she wished to expose to Harry any further.
But that was not the reason for her visit to Diagon Alley. No, her reason was to visit an old friend of hers one she made on her first day as part of this world. Standing in front of the store she had a look of nostalgia as before her was Ollivander's shop as she knew if anyone knew about wands it would be him. In her holster was Dumbledore's wand that seemed to answer to her now. So, entering the shop Lily made her way through with the ring of the doors bell chiming to alert Ollivander of a customer.
Inside the shop Lily saw it was just as she remembered it only it was smaller now... or she was just bigger. Walking over to the front counter she chimed the bell to alert Ollivander she was here and in doing so she saw him appear holding a few wand boxes. He looked at her with the same eyes she that she swore was looking into her very soul. "I was wondering if you would appear, Lily." Ollivander said as he greeted the woman.
"It's good to see you again, Ollivander." Lily greeted as she smiled to the old man. "It's been too long." Lily said as she saw the old man approach her.
"Yes, your son has a great wand, eleven inches, Holly, and a phoenix tail feather for a core. Nice and subtle." Ollivander said as Lily smiled up until the core was mentioned. It was no secret to Lily that Harry and Voldemort's wands shared a core. "As I recall your wand is a 10 1/4 inches Willow. Swishy and good for charms." Ollivander said he looked over some information. "If your here I suspect your old wand is lost to time." Ollivander said as Lily sighed.
"Yes, its lost but I'm not here to replace it." Lily said as this caught Ollivander's attention. "I've recently come into contact with a new wand whose original master is still alive." Lily said as this got Ollivander's attention. "As I understand no wand will willingly seek a new master while the old one still lives." Lily said which then had her produced the wand in question. "Yes, I disarmed Dumbledore and his wand seems to respond to me." Lily said presenting the wand to Ollivander.
"This must be some mistake." Ollivander said but Lily disagreed.
"I'm sorry but that's exactly what happened." Lily said but Ollivander corrected her.
"No, this wand is not Dumbledore's not his original wand at least." Ollivander said which got Lily's attention. "Lily as I told your son when he first received his wand, I remember every wand I have ever sold and I'm afraid I never sold this wand to anyone, nor did I make it." Ollivander said as he knew which wand was Dumbledore's.
"But if this isn't his original wand, why did it answer to him before I disarmed him?" Lily asked as she needed information.
Ollivander took the wand and began to inspect it no doubt to help Lily out. "This wand... it's made of Elder Wood powerful magic can be used through this, but wands made of Elder Wood require one to kill its owner to gain its allegiance." Ollivander said but this confused Lily for a moment.
"But I didn't kill Dumbledore so why do I have this wands loyalty?" Lily asked needing a direct answer from Ollivander.
"In normal circumstances you would have to kill the original owner, yes." Ollivander said as his voice tone changed to one that showed Lily that what she had was powerful and dangerous. "However, I fear this is no normal elder wand." Ollivander said as he carefully made sure no one was outside or behind Lily. "There is a tale of an unbeatable wand a very powerful wand that has travelled between master's more times than can be counted." Ollivander said revealing what he knows of this subject. "Each wielder taking it off the dead body of the previous owner." Ollivander said with Lily listening intently.
"And you believe this wand may in fact be that unbeatable wand?" Lily asked which Ollivander nodded.
"I do, Lily what you have in your possession is none other than that very unbeatable wand the Elder Wand of the Deathly Hollows." Ollivander said which made Lily go wide eyed a bit.
"The Deathly Hollows?" Lily asked as she believed she had read about these Deathly Hollows at one point. Inside her mind Lotus and Natah were looking for the information Lily was thinking about that involved these Deathly Hollows.
"Yes, it was a story from a children's book." Ollivander said as he inspected the wand. "Three brothers travelled the road until they came upon a river, they could not cross." Ollivander began as he told the story. "The three brothers with their magic constructed a bridge and with it they safely crossed the river but on the other side... Death awaited them." Ollivander said telling the tale.
"Death felt cheated for people died in that river. But he was crafty as he was fact and thus pretended to congratulate the brothers for evading him." Ollivander said as Lily took note of every word he spoke. "To each the brothers he offered them a wish and from oldest to youngest they made their wish." Ollivander said and got to the next tale. "The Eldest demanded a wand that had no equal a wand that would make him unbeatable and from a nearby Elder Tree Death forged the Elder Wand." Ollivander said which surprised Lily at what she might be holding. "The Second brother seeking to humiliate Death further asked for the power to recall those who had died so from the river Death Plucked a stone capable of just that." Ollivander said which then got to the final brother.
"What did the last brother ask for?" Lily asked as she had a hunch as to what the third relic was.
"The third brother humble as he was asked for a cloak that would allow him to hide from death." Ollivander said and got to the good part. "So, Death begrudgingly parted with his Cloak of Invisibility before seeing the three brothers off." Ollivander said which Lily had a good idea what came next. "The first brother hunted down and killed a wizard whom he had quarreled with and drunk on the wands power boasting of his perceived might." Ollivander said as that was the one thing you don't do with that sort of power, brag.
"Someone snuck into his room, took the wand, and slit his throat for good measure." Lily said as she got the gist of that story.
"Yes, and in turn Death took the first brother." Ollivander said before going to the next brother. "The Second Brother returned home and called upon the woman whom he was fond of and sought to marry, his fiancé but alas she was cold, sad, and did not belong to this world." Ollivander said telling Lily the tale. "Driven mad by grief hung himself allowing for death to claim the second brother." Ollivander said as this made Lily concerned over what the third relic did. "But for years Death searched for the third brother but could not find him." Ollivander said revealing some good news.
"It was only after he achieved a great age did the third brother shed the cloak and gifted it to his son. He then met with death, and they departed together as equals." Ollivander said as Lily had a good idea where the cloak ended up. "Lily this wand is that unbeatable wand the same one that scores of wizards and witches have hunted and killed for." Ollivander revealed as Lily looked at the wand on the counter.
"The true source of Dumbledore's power." Lily said realizing that this wand was the equalized between Dumbledore and Voldemort. "I noted a common theme between the Relics and how they each lead to the three brothers deaths." Lily added which Ollivander noted. "The desire of humans saw to it the first brother died, the stone dangled what the third brother wanted that could not be regained, but what did the third relic do?" Lily asked and thus Ollivander sighed to this.
"While yes it did shield the third brother from Death it did not do the same for those around him." Ollivander revealed surprising Lily.
"So, while he lived Death took his loved ones instead." Lily said as she could make a good theory on that. The Third Brother gave the cloak to his son to protect him while he himself went to meet with Death to stop the senseless killing.
"That is one theory, but this wand is of concern." Ollivander said as he pushed the wand towards Lily. "This wand is fickle, and you must protect it with your life." Ollivander said his tone laced with urgency. "If the Dark Lord were to acquire it nothing would stop him." Ollivander said and thus Lily knew what needed to be done.
"Thank you." Lily said taking the wand and returning it to its holster. "I would appreciate discretion on this matter if what you say is true if the fact that I have this becomes common knowledge." Lily trailed off which Ollivander understood.
"Trust me... I am most unrivaled when it comes to keep confidences." Ollivander said assuring Lily that he would not go around spreading this fact. "After all I'm certain your many adopted children would take offense if I broke their mothers trust, Lotus." Ollivander said as Lily was wide eyed by his words. "Worry not I don't have any intentions of exposing you, but I do know that you will do great things in the near future." Ollivander said which Lily sighed to this.
(Scene Break Grimmauld Place)
Stepping out of the fireplace another team of Tenno was seen hard at work as they carried tools, wires, and a few other items. Thank goodness for charms to block out the noise from going outside. The House was under renovations, new pipes, new floorboards, and most of all wires were being added in to handle the flow of power. Most of the main house had been finished up as the Tenno worked hard to update the house.
Still loud rock music was blaring as the Tenno worked as the entire house was being flipped. In one room a Tenno was seen carving a saw into the wall as Walburga Black, the mother of Sirius Black, was screeching at them. "Invaders! Desecrators! Be gone from my house at once you worthless mongrels!" She yelled as the Tenno ignored her. "Your kind should learn their place under the heels of your betters!" She went on as the Tenno were not paying attention.
"You know strangely enough I might just miss you when you're gone." The Tenno said as he was using Atlas Prime for his work. "Damn shame though that this will be the last we see of each other." He added as Walburga glared at the Tenno.
"No level of magic will remove me from this wall!" She defended but the Tenno smirked.
"Oh, your right we've tried but thankfully we have the next best thing... removing the wall from the house." He said and thus he dug his hand against the wall ready to push it over.
Walburga was wide eyed in shock when felt the wall tipping before she then glared at the Tenno. "Don't you dare!" She said and thus the Tenno smirked under his Warframe.
Then he tipped and thus he let go to let gravity handle the rest. "Oops." He said and thus Walburga was heard screaming and cursing as the wall fell over with Walburga falling through her painting via the back way. Once the wall landed it hit the ground revealing another room behind her.
"Hello underground base!" A female Tenno called out when she saw the room behind the spot the wall used to be.
"Now we can really get to work." The Atlas Prime User said punching his fists together in anticipation.
(Scene Break Lily Potter Mannor)
Lily stepped out of the Floo and into the main entry area where several Tenno and Operatives were seen roaming. Entering the place Lily looked over towards Ordis when he arrived to give his report. "Good news Lotus, our construction team at Grimmauld have dealt with that SCREAMING PICTURE Walburga's portrait and have begun breaking ground." Ordis reported happily to the Lotus.
"Good keep me appraised to the progress." Lily said and thus she got moving again. "I have other matters to attend to." Lily said leaving the area towards her study that was acting as a meeting room. She had two guests waiting for her as it was about the time they promised to arrive.
Entering the study Lily soon met the sight of Nymphodora Tonks and Alastor Moody. "Dora, Moody I see you two had considered my offer." Lily said taking a seat across from them. Lily remembered how she used to look after Tonks when she was a small child. Moody was her dearly departed husband's instructor and was properly paranoid.
"I didn't at first but some of the things Dumbledore has been doing struck me as odd." Tonks said as she had a cup of tea in hand. Moody brought his own drink which the Tenno were warned about.
"Explain." Lily said as she looked to Tonks.
"He's been having us guarding something in the Department of Mysteries but at no point did he tell us what we were guarding." Tonks said which got Lily's attention. "All we know is that we need to keep a close eye on the Hall of Prophesies and that's it." She said which Lily found concerning.
"You can't protect something if you don't know what you're protecting." Lily noted because this meant you would have no idea if it got stolen or not. "So clearly it's a prophesy Dumbledore is protecting but if we don't know which prophesy it is we can't stop the Dark Lord from taking it from under our noses assuming he hasn't done so yet." Lily said as Tonks never thought about it.
"Can't be vigilante if you don't know what to be vigilante for." Moody said seeing the closest analogy of this.
"Precisely." Lily said and thus they knew what needed to be done. "We need to find what this Prophesy entails and why its connected to Harry." Lily said and had a good idea on who to ask.
"Don't you have connections in the Department of Mysteries?" Tonks asked but Lily sighed.
"Possibly it's been years since I've contacted them, they may very well be under the sway of Dumbledore." Lily began as she stated her problem with this. "And even if not, then those who are loyal to Dumbledore will alert him of my investigation." Lily said knowing they had to be quiet about this.
"How can we help?" Tonks asked wanting to give Lily as much aid as she can manage.
"Try to keep me appraise of Dumbledore's movements." Lily said to the young Auror and to Moody. "And thank you for helping me with this." Lily added which Moody nodded.
"I owe it to Sirius and James." Moody said knowing how his students both suffered for this.
"Thank you." Lily said grateful for the continued aid of Tonks and Moody. The Tenno then entered the room once more as Lily waved for them. "My Tenno will escort you out, sorry security measure and what not." Lily said as she had to make sure they were not spies for Dumbledore.
"It's fine." Tonks said as she and Moody followed after the Tenno after bidding farewell to Lily. Once they were gone Lily focused back on the current task. She needed to be ready, so Dumbledore won't try some trick to use again her to force Harry back under his thumb. This meant she needed to find Remus and Slughorn soon before Dumbledore can find them.
Harry and Hermione had informed Lily that Remus and the fake Moody were two of the best DADA teachers they had at Hogwarts. Even back when she had been a student Lily had a different professor every year due to the alleged curse on the position. Snape could not be trusted, and Lily had to make sure the slimy git didn't try to weasel his way in. Lily had no intentions of giving quarter or court to the Death Eaters not this time.
Just then a Tenno walked in with a report for Lily. "Lotus... we found Slughorn." The Tenno said and thus Lily smiled as that was the good news she needed to hear.
(Meanwhile over in Harrys room)
Heron was walking around the estate/base with his Kubrow, Fang in tow when he noted Harry's room door opened. Inside Harry was looking at Hedwig who was perched near his bed. With a sigh Heron knocked and in turn got Harry's attention. "Is everything ok, Harry?" Heron asked as he looked to Harry.
"Oh right, yeah I'm fine." Harry said but Heron raised a brow.
"You're lying." Heron said and thus entered the room. "Tell me what's going on or I'll have Ordis tell me." Heron said as it was clear Ordis had eyes everywhere.
"Jerk." Harry insulted but figured Heron was being a brother right now. "It's... this all of this." Harry gesturing to the room. "My mum is back and if we're not at odds she's keeping me in this gilded cage." Harry said as Heron saw exactly what it was.
"Harry Dumbledore is trying to make you a child soldier, trust me I speak from experience when I say it's never a good thing." Heron said as this calmed Harry down. "I get your upset sitting here forced to study at home while your friends might end up in danger from Voldemort." Heron said which elected a sigh from Harry.
"Then why do I have to stay here?" Harry asked wanting to leave and fight.
"Because Voldemort is a problem that should have been dealt with at the nub and I'll be damned if I force kids to clean up the mess the adults made." Heron said before looking to Harry. "Lotus your mum has similar thoughts on the matter." Heron added causing Harry to sigh seeing Heron's point. "But... just because you can't fight doesn't mean you can't learn to defend yourself." Heron said and as if on que Umbra was at the door holding a pair of wooden bokkens.
"What?" Harry asked surprised by what he just heard.
"Your mom wants you to have self-defense training and Umbra is going to be your teacher until we can get Varzia to come over." Heron said as Umbra entered and gestured for Harry to follow. "I'd follow he's a brutal teacher when he needs to be." Heron said and thus Harry sighed and followed after Umbra choosing not to test Umbra.
(Scene Break over with Lily)
Lily arrived at where she knew Slughorn was no doubt hiding out at. Since the war had yet to officially break out Horace had little to no reason to hide unless he himself had something to hide. The house the Tenno tracked him down to looked very much abandoned as she approached. He was a Slytherin, and Lily knew that he saw the writing on the walls. Entering the property, she kept her eyes peeled for trouble knowing her Tenno were nearby in case things went south.
Approaching the front door Lily had the Elder Wand out and carefully casted an unlocking charm to open the door. Once it was open a Lumos followed as she entered the darkened room. Her eyes zoomed as the Sentient part of her was scanning the area for any anomalies. It looked as if this entire place had been raided by Death Eaters and the blood stain showed a murder had taken place. However, her scans showed no signs of a body ever being here to die and secondly the blood stain was not human blood.
She then saw the nearby couch and noted that it was the only thing here that seemed unscathed by the chaos while everything else was wrecked. Raising a brow Lily knew she found her quarry and began to approach the couch making sure to do it slowly. Lowering her wand Lily smirked a bit before she began to speak.
"Professor Slughorn, you know you should have probably made the couch more damaged." Lily began before pointing to the stain nearby. "That stain was not human blood even if it looks like it, had the couch had been torn up I may have missed you." Lily said and then suddenly the couch shifted. From the arm rests hands shot out and from the seat back the head of an old man appeared yelping. Lily wasn't frightened and soon enough the couch shifted into a human shape the fabric turning into a robe.
"Lily, Lily Evans?!" Horace Slughorn began as he saw Lily there.
"Hello, Professor, it's been far too long." Lily smiled happy to see her favorite professor after all this time.
"Good to see you dear girl truly." Slughorn said as he gave Lily a hug to which she happily returned said hug.
"I see you've already seen the writings on the walls." Lily said as she knew why Slughorn was hiding out. With Voldemort's return the former head of Slytherin needed to hide out.
"Yes, despite what the Minister may claim you know who is on the rise." Slughorn said which Lily knew made him a possible ally. "Now I suspect you went through a lot of trouble to find me; may I ask why?" Slughorn said as he smiled to Lily.
"Have you been up to date with the Prophet particularly with me pulling my son from Hogwarts?" Lily asked which Slughorn nodded.
"Yes, and I can't help but wonder why?" Slughorn asked and in turn Lily sighed.
"I can't say much but for lack of better terms I'm not exactly Dumbledore's biggest fan at the moment." Lily said which Slughorn saw that there had been some falling out. "My son has been placed into needless danger for over four years one for each of his school terms." Lily revealed which Slughorn nodded on the reasoning. "But since this was his OWLS year, I need to cover my bases to prevent Dumbledore from taking him." Lily said which she then got down to it.
"You're handling his education privately." Slughorn said as he listened to his old student.
"Yes, I'm gathering up the best I can for private tutoring for him and his friend and your one of the few I'm coming to." Lily said which Slughorn found this intriguing. "I need Harry to do well enough on his OWLs so I can enroll him in another English-speaking magical school." Lily said as she had her sights on Illvelmorny in America.
"Lily, you far surpassed me in Potions surely you can." Slughorn began but Lily cut him off.
"Professor stop buttering me up, I may be gifted but at the moment I don't have the time." Lily said as regent Potter she had to make sure the household was prepared for when Harry took the reins of lordship. "You're the only Potions Master I can turn to." Lily said which meant she needed her old teachers help.
"Well, I appreciate the sentiment, but I'm retired you see. Times are about to be hard, and I need to be ready for it." Slughorn said which Lily saw a mile away.
"I understand Professor." Lily said calmly not at all bothered. "I suppose I must look elsewhere, a blasted shame too you were going to be paid most handsomely for your services and more than that, I suppose Sirius can handle potions for when I'm not available." Lily said but smiled at her old professor. "But your right dangerous times are upon us." Lily said before she began to leave. "I'll be off pardon me for intruding your evening." Lily said and in turn she began to leave the house.
(Later outside the house Lily)
"Lotus are you sure that was a good idea?" A Tenno asked through a communications link.
All Lily did was smirk as she knew what was coming. "Three, two, and one." Lily said and at one Slughorn came out of the house.
"I'll help!" Horace called out looking to Lily. Lily looked and walked back over to Horace.
"Thank you, Professor I'm grateful I can count upon you, truly I am." Lily said happy to have her old teachers. "There are a few things you will need to know before you truly commit to this, and these things will certainly take a few years off your life." Lily said warning Slughorn that there were some hurdles. This concerned Horace obviously, but Lily was now in a position to build a network of allies in which Slughorn can expand on.
(Scene Break the Death Eaters)
Voldemort was hard at work in an alternative means to carry out the Azkaban break out. He had to be careful with this because of his intention. Inferni was his only option to carry it out and to be successful he needed a great deal of them to succeed. Thus, he had to get bodies dead bodies and while the remains of the Death Eaters who had been found dead were useful, he needed more. Resorting to grave robbing was Voldemort's only other path.
Of course there were another issue that had to deal with, as ever sense Sirius was found innocent and allow to walk free now, he had access to his family bank account as moment ago Bellatrix has reported that her access to the black's vault was denied, including her own vault that under Lestrange's family name as it seem Sirius black has Abolish her marriage, as well Narcissa marriage while also cutting her off and sent out a disownment of Draco cutting him out of the Black's family so he cannot access the Black's vault either.
So not only was he losing his own forces that he had to resort to using Inferni to carry out task to help get his forces number back up, but now he had less finesses to use in fact the black wealth cover most expensive for his operations, as he may get by with some of followers wealth and his own that he had hidden away but the black family's money was helping them greatly, but now it was cut off they were barely able to get by and the only one he could take his frustration out for this was Lucius as he was on his knees looking very much in pain with some cuts and bruises all around him as Voldemort blame him for not having a secure hold of the black's family vault, even though he explain there was nothing he could have done to prevent this.
Voldemort was now more angrier than normal, as he cannot find this 3rd faction that been attacking his men, lily Potter was back from the dead as he thought he did kill her, but it seem he didn't at all, low on man power, and now he was low in funds it feel like to him he was scraping the bottom of a barrel as he then Severus walked in and seeing the mess the dark lord had made of Lucius as he said, "Am I interrupting something my lord?"
"No Severus, I was finish talking with Lucius here after he lost his access to the Black's vault," Voldemort said as Lucius could not speak or move at the moment as the dark lord had his wand pointed at him no doubt was using the torture curse on him before he release it while raising his wand, with Lucius fallen over gasping for air as if he was drowning as Snape said, "I see, as it seem Sirius Black is taking control over the Black's vault, not a surprise my lord but we should have expected this to happen sooner or later."
"Perhaps, but at the moment we still needed it, not to mention with my forces have been getting cut down, we need our forces to be stronger, as I hope you brought forth what I asked, Severus," Voldemort said as Severus snape nodded and said, "I had gathered many remains of the death eaters who were killed. It was not easy, but it is done, still though what is the point of gathering those who had died?"
"There is a point Severus, as I plan on bringing them back, their bodies will still serve me as they have in life, now in death, and you will help me make it so" Voldemort said as Severus soon said, "Inferni's, I see. They will take time to be reanimated my lord, and a lot of dark magic to do so, not to mention, it may not be enough."
"Then get more, I don't care if you have to raise an entire graveyard, just bring me enough bodies to replenish everything we had lost," Voldemort said as Severus Snape nodded and said, "It shall be done then."
"And take his with you, heal him up and have him gather many bodies as well," Voldemort said as he sent Lucius towards Snape before he left the room, as he grab the man and drag him out of the room to heal his wounds and make him gather more bodies for Voldemort, while he inform Dumbledore of what Voldemort is planning on doing leaving the dark lord alone as he left alone in his thoughts.
His mind just went to Lily Potter again as the thought of her just make him angry. It seems that she keeps defying him at every turn he makes. The mudblood witch somehow retrieving Potter and hide the boy from him, and worst off he cannot find Harry Potter or Lily Potter anywhere. His forces were being spread strategically to find them but to no avail. More so any of his followers who did not hide behind the defenses of their homes were being found dead. A few leaving a brothel were found dead in the river, one leaving the Ministry his head was found in a box delivered to his home.
His remaining followers were growing scared, and Voldemort's own power is what keeps them from betraying him to try to escape for now. He doesn't know how, but he knew that as she created a protected charm that made him unable to touch harry until he gain his new body, but now it seem she was doing it again, and taunting him by protecting the boy from him again as he may not know how Lily Potter is doing it or how she even survive that night when he struck down both her and James Potter, but he knows if he ever sees that woman again he will make sure to kill her more thoroughly.
But who was this third faction and how does Lily fit into all of it. He would need to lay low and consolidate what resources he has left. But that did not mean Voldemort did not have other means of instilling fear into the Magical populace.
(Meanwhile with Remus that evening)
It was the middle of the night, and the little village was silent, everyone was in there houses asleep and every store and pub was closed, except one. The Ebony Wolf was a pub for Werewolves by werewolves and served as the few neutral grounds about. When he had entered there was a severe lack of Werewolves in the pub like their numbers had taken a major blow. This pub was a place werewolves could come and be themselves not being judged and, in the war, it was declared to be a ceasefire zone. The ceasefire made it so this place was where everyone in the pack could be together, and everyone was correct.
The way that the pack leaders would function is that one would be nominated either by themselves or by someone else and if voted to be the leader of the pack they would be leader of the pack for life and once they died a new leader would be selected, Greyback had nominated himself and the rest of the pack had voted him in, they had chosen Fenrir Greyback for his strength both physically and magically and they didn't take who he was into account and that had bitten them in the ass quite severely, now the whole wizarding world thought werewolves were savages.
But they couldn't remove Greyback from being pack leader due to their rules, they tried to poison him, but he smelt the poison and killed the one who served it to him and even if they tried to take him down, they knew he would easily overwhelm them. But now Greyback was missing and the packs he roamed with had vanished as well and it was noticed. It was getting to the point that the packs were about to go at each other's throats to decide a new leader. This was stopped when Greyback sent word for a meeting at this very pub, it was odd and strange, but they followed regardless.
Sirius was not on good terms with the Order of the Phoenix which put him at odds with Remus. Remus felt that Dumbledore knew best and that he was trying his best. This put a wedge between them and when Sirius lead the entity impersonating Lily into the Order of the Phoenix base the wedge got bigger. So, entering the pub he looked around to see that everyone was there, they were just waiting for him, Greyback was likely in the back waiting for everyone to gather.
Remus walked over to the bar and sat himself on a bar stool, before looking around everyone was gathered so when was this meeting going to start, but then the question answered itself as all of the tables levitated from the ground and all formed up to become a large table, one that was big enough for all of them to sit around, all the werewolves quickly grabbed whatever they were sitting on whether it was a chair or a bar stool and all sat around the table.
Remus looked around the table cautiously, he needed to be careful here, the Jade Wolf was surrounded by wards to make sure you couldn't Apparate in or out, the Floo was his best bet, but to the looks of things somebody had blocked it, he wasn't too worried though, Greyback may have been a savage, but he did respect the ceasefire clause of the Jade Wolf, so he knew that he'd most likely be safe, unless Greyback decided to drag him outside and finish him.
The doors to the back of the bar then opened and they all turned expecting to see Greyback walking out. But instead of Greyback it was a female figure, and it took Remus all of five seconds to recognized a Warframe. She had demonic beast heads on her shoulders and hips with several tails of energy flowing behind her. Walking in she was growling as were the beast heads. She had an odd-looking muggle gun on her person, but the noticeable thing was the massive ax on her back.
Growling she glared out at the masses of werewolves studying them but daring them to attack. "So, this is all you… all of the werewolves that were not part of the larger back I mean?" The woman said her voice sounding young but almost feral. "Looks like I did my job right, if all of you are what's left." She added before getting down to it.
"Who are you?" someone at the table asked while glaring at the Tenno.
"My name is Lupa I was the one who summoned you here." The girl now named Lupa said with the same snarling of a feral beast.
"You've got nerve girl, only the alpha can call a meeting like this." another older werewolf who assumed that the girl was just wearing enchanted armor, but once he said that Remus and all the werewolves felt a chill go down their spines. First up Lupa snarled like an actual beast of the wild who was angered.
Taking a moment to calm down and surprising rubbing the beast heads on her armor she spoke again. "Well then if that's the case then you can call me Alpha because as of this moment, I'm the leader of this pack and every other wolf pack." Lupa said making it clear that she was in charge.
There was silence in the Jade Wolf, all of the werewolves looked at one another and then they looked back at Lupa. A moment later they began to laugh, hysterically some of them even banging their fists on the table as they laughed, Remus didn't he just kept a cautious watch on Lupa. If you ever said this in the Jade Wolf, you'd need to back it up somehow and Lupa did back it up with her next action she slammed something into the table.
This caused everyone to stop laughing and look and what they saw horrified them. What the Tenno had produced was Fenrir Greybacks severed head, they all looked up to Lupa who kept growling. "Now then, I believe that makes me Alpha of this pack." Lupa said between her snarls. "I don't really know your rules and I don't care for your rules, I killed him and now you will serve me, and you will also serve the interests of the Lotus." She added all the while showing she was more beast than man.
Remus quickly bolted up from his seat and bolted towards the door, he needed to get out of the Jade Wolf in order to apparate out of there and if this girl had defeated Greyback then he would be no match for her, many werewolves quickly followed his example and got up and bolted for the door, surprisingly Lupa didn't do anything at fist. She then took out her gun and shot down the wolves one by one like a hunter gunning down a wild animal.
What followed was the four heads launching and going after the Wolves. Remus soon got to the door, but when he did get there, he cried out in pain as the four heads all gunned at him biting down on his arms and legs. Lupa walked over to the downed Remus as he tried to force the heads off of him, but they were mauling. Soon enough they backed off only for Lup to grab him and hoist him up.
"You're not leaving Remus the Lotus has demanded your presence." Lupa snarled as Remus realized this girl truly was an animal. With that in mind the Ebony Wolf suddenly found itself a victim of a large bar fight judging from the noise heard outside. By the end of it a few dead Werewolves would be found outside while the others plus Remus were brought back to base.
