Taka, Cera, Topps and the elderly longneck all returned safe.
"Oh, you made it! I was so worried"!
"I'm fine, dear, really". The two elderly longnecks nuzzled.
"How is everyone else"?
"Our group got here safely, thanks to Littlefoot".
Ducky backed her. "Oh, yes! Thanks to Littlefoot"!
Taka smiled at him. Littlefoot had a humble smile.
"We are all very lucky".
Topps didn't share that feeling. Lucky? How can you say we are lucky when our valley burns? We are without water and now we are without a home. All is lost".
"All is not lost my friend", said the female longneck. "You still have Cera and Taka".
Taka nodded. "And we got you". Him and Cera ran up to him.
Topps saw the truth in this. "Well, you are right. Thank you, Longneck".
Another adult spoke. "But the threehorn speaks the truth"!
"We're doomed"!
"We'll never be able to go back to the Great Valley"!
Ducky was unhappy. "Never go back to the Great Valley? Oh, no".
Littlefoot realized. "The water! We forgot to tell them about the water! Grandma, Grandpa! We found water"!
"Water"?
"Where Littlefoot"?
"It's stuck".
Petrie flew up to her face. "Behind the Thundering Falls".
"The flying rocks did it", said Cera".
"They did", added Ducky.
"Which means the water is trapped in the Mysterious Beyond".
"The Mysterious Beyond"?
"We can't go there".
"It's dangerous"!
Topps was quick to point out. "Of course it's dangerous. But no place is safe now. We must go and free the water".
Grandpa Longneck pointed out an important fact. "But such a huge gathering of water will attract other creatures besides ourselves. In the Mysterious Beyond there will be Sharpteeth".
The grownups murmured about the threat.
Spike buried his face into the bottom. Ducky fell off.
"I do not like sharpteeth. Oh no, their teeth are too sharp".
Grandma reasoned. "Still, we must do something. We must come up with a plan to free the water".
"I have a plan".
A clubtail snarked at Topps. "I hope it's better than you fire escape plan".
Topps growled
"Please! This is no time to argue".
"At least I had a plan", replied Topps. The clubtail growled in return.
Granma had to get between them. "Stop! You're acting like children"!
Even Petrie was unimpressed. "Huh! We no act like that"!
They all continued to argue.
"I have a plan too"!
"Mine's better"!
Hyp and the other 2 listened as the adults argued over plans. "I'd sure like to get to that water first, before the rest of those dummies go slobbering in it"!
Nod's reply was a gulp. "But you heard the grownups, Hyp. What about sharpteeth"?
"What about 'em"?
"Well, you tell him, Mutt".
"Huh? Well, uh, well, uh, they're bad, uh, yeah! And scary too! Come on! You're just afraid of them as we are"!
Hyp caught his neck. "Me? I'm not afraid of anything"!
"Bet you are", challenged Nod.
"Bet I'm not", said Hyp as he got in his face.
"You were afraid of those big flying rocks"!
Hyp denied and lied. "I was not! I just ran cause you guys did. I… I didn't want you to feet stupid".
Mutt glared in response.
Nod didn't but it. "Well, then prove it"!
"Alright, I will. I'm getting me some tasty water, and you babies can stay here".
"Well, I'm not a baby".
Mutt had the same thought as Nod. "Yeah, me neither". They decided to follow after Hyp.
"Uh… Uh Hyp! Wait"!
"Uh, yeah! For us"!
The grownups continued to argue, but their chat was unheard by the gang, wasn't unnoticed. Taka watched Hyp hop on a rock then onto Nod's back.
Cera spoke. "They are so dumb! Didn't they hear what the grownups said about Sharpteeth".
"I guess not", replied Littlefoot.
"Well, if they get eaten, it'll serve them right". Taka nodded. Ducky didn't agree. "Cera! That is not nice"!
Cera as usual, didn't back down. "I don't care. They deserve it"!
Littlefoot didn't think so. "I don't know, you guys. Maybe we should do something"?
Taka rolled his eyes. Kind hearted Littlefoot. One of his best traits.
"Like what", asked Cera.
"Like, tell their parents where they went"?
Taka shook his head. "They're all complaining too much to notice to notice they wondered off. Listen to them".
"Your plan is too dangerous", complained Grandpa Longneck".
"Yours is no better", replied Topps.
"Then listen to mine", said a clubtail.
"Yours! Don't be silly"!
"Then maybe, we should go stop them".
Taka couldn't believe what Littlefoot said. "Us"?
"They hate us, they will not listen"!
"I know their bigger".
Cera shook her head. "But definitely not smarter"!
"Still, we have to try".
Petrie was curious. "But why"?
Littlefoot started to sing. "They have feelings just like we do. They have problems too. We think because they're big, they don't, but they do. They're louder and their stronger, and they make a bigger fuss. But way down deep inside, I think. They're just kids like us".
The others slowly followed Littlefoot up the path. "They have parent just like our who tell them what to do, they have feet and horns, and scales and noses too. And when the earth is shaking, they run and hide because", he jumps on a big rock as he sings this part., Ducky hides under Cera, who also covers herself. As does Taka, Spike, Petrie. "Even if if they think their tough. They're still kids like us".
"It's just too dangerous, Littlefoot", reasoned Cera.
"Yes, it is".
"And they're too mean"!
"Very, very mean", said Petrie as he made a scary face.
"Maybe when you're bigger, you think you should pretend you're not afraid of scary things that you don't need a friend. But they're just kids in trouble. They need someone to trust if can bring home, show them they're not. That they're just kids".
They all sang along with Littlefoot and that included Taka. "Kids like us".
Taka nodded. "Alright Littlefoot, you convinced me. Let's go rescue them".
Littlefoot turned to the others. "You guys do what you want".
Taka wasn't the only one convinced by this.
"Last of after them two's a scaredy egg", said Cera.
"Me no scaredy egg"!
"Wait for us", called Ducky. We're not scaredy eggs, either".
