Chapter 7: Star's Suspicions.

As Danny returned from the bathroom, he noticed that his friends and Misty were in a deep conversation about something.

"Seriously?! How can you NOT like the Trinity of Doom?!..."Sam asked in disbelief.

She and the others have been talking about movies for the last few minutes and the topic of discussion soon came to this. The young sorceress just sighed.

"I just never really liked those horror movie knockoffs to be honest..." Misty said, and Sam looked offended now.

"They are NOT knock-offs! Femalien, Terminatra and Nightmarica are monster movie legends that are really underappreciated and ignored in favor of mainstream stuff created by the man!..."Sam said, while Jazz, Star and Tucker rolled her eyes.

"I knew that this would happen..."Tucker mumbled.

"So did the rest of us..." Star said and Jazz nodded.

"Sorry, but I just don't see what the appeal is of three female monsters trying to fight to see who the strongest monster or whatever is. Plus, I'm not all that big of a fan with horror movies in general. I actually prefer something more like the Captain Marvelous movie or Turbo Toni to be honest..." Misty said with a shrug.

"Well, at least we have one thing in common..." Star said, before noticing her boyfriend appeared.

"Oh, hey, Danny-Boo..."She said, happy to see him.

"Hi...did I interrupt something?..."Danny asked.

"Nothing, just talking about movies we saw, and it somehow turned into a debate between Sam and Misty about whether the Trinity of Doom is worth watching or not..."Tucker said, as he took a bite out of some popcorn that he made a few minutes ago.

"I still say that Femalien is a horror icon that is really underappreciated..."Sam said, being stubborn.

"Well, that's your opinion but to each their own, I guess..."Misty said, not disagreeing but not agreeing either.

"Anyway, I do believe that we have a story to get back to..." Star reminded, while her boyfriend sat next to her.

"Okay...now...where was I?..." Danny said.

"You were telling everyone how Glaciar was an even worse coach than Testlaff and Star was already hating him because he was less reasonable than Lancer and also ruining your couple moments..."Jazz reminded.

"Oh, right..." Danny said, frowning as he recalled that last part.

"Anyway...after that skating lesson, we returned to the resort, and I basically fell asleep as soon as I arrived at my room. I'm going to skip some stuff since it's not all that important and just skip to the next day..."Danny said, as they continued with the story.

Story

It was the next day, the day where the moon would be full tonight, and the chalice could be obtained if all goes right.

"This is the day..."Danny muttered after waking up in the room he and his family was sharing at the resort.

After getting ready for the day, he was dressed in his winter gear and went to join his and Star's family for breakfast at the resort's restaurant. As usual, Danny sat next to Star while she was concerned about him and was also worried that he was being overworked.

"How are you feeling, Boo?..."She asked, after they both got their breakfast.

"Like someone poured concrete on my muscles. Ouch..."Danny said since he was still sore, but he tried to enjoy the omelet he got and hoped that his healing factor would kick in soon since he was still a little sore from all his training these last few days.

His girlfriend sent him a worried look, while her boyfriend ate his breakfast and kept drifting off as he thought about the chalice and how important it was to deliver it to Frostbite before it's too late.

"I got to finish up soon. Glaciar said to meet again as soon as possible..." Danny said, while his girlfriend looked upset again.

"So, you're seriously going to train again?! Seriously?!..." Star asked, worried that yeti was putting too much pressure on him.

"Glaciar insists that my jumps and landings still need work and that I need to remember to keep my feet in the right position for the final pose as well as improve my speed during jumps..." Danny said, while his girlfriend frowned.

"If this chalice thing is so important, then why can't he just do the routine, and you yell orders at him all day?..." Star grumbled.

"You know that it's because of that ghost proof barrier thing. I'm the only one who can get through it..." Danny said, while Star still looked upset.

"Look, it's the last day. After we get the chalice, Glaciar can go home to give it to Frostbite and then we can go back to our fun ski trip..."He reminded, while his girlfriend still seemed wary about something.

"I still don't like that guy, Danny. I know that he's supposed to be Frostbite's friend and all, but there is something about him that's seems shady. He's too harsh, rude and seems phony when he compliments you. Reminds me too much of how the A-list used to compliment me while they were mean to everyone else..." Star said, looking down.

"I wouldn't go that far. Look, Glaciar is bossy and pretty annoying, but Frostbite trusts him and is under his orders. As soon as he has the chalice, he can go home and we'll be back on vacation..." Danny said, but his girlfriend still was suspicious.

"I still think that he's going too far, Boo. I mean, just yesterday he lectured you for ten minutes all because of how you placed your toes when spinning..." Star reminded.

"Don't remind me..."Danny complained.

"I really don't like what that guy is doing. He's being way to unreasonable, even if it is a mission. Can't we just talk to Frostbite and ask him to make Glaciar lighten up a bit?..." Star asked.

"I don't have his phone number, so we'd have to wait until we get back home and go to the ghost zone if we want to send a complaint..."Danny said, while Star frowned.

"Look...today is the last day. After I give that chalice to Glaciar, I'm all yours for the rest of this trip..." Danny said, hoping to reassure his girlfriend.

His girlfriend still seemed unsure and still didn't trust Danny's so-called mentor. The two teens simply agreed in silence, once they noticed their parents arriving with their respective breakfasts to eat. The two heroic teens continued to eat their breakfast and quietly talk about their next move, keeping their voices low enough so no one could accidentally eavesdrop on them.

As they made their plans, Jazz seemed to be in a good mood, which her parents noticed.

"Going somewhere, Princess?..."Jack asked with a teasing smile.

Jazz flinched, but tried to act natural.

"I'm just going to get...a skiing lesson..."Jazz said vaguely.

"Oh...with that nice boy who we saw you with yesterday before we went to hunt ghosts?..."Maddie asked with a teasing smile.

"You saw us?!..."Jazz asked, looking embarrassed.

"Jazz, we're your parents and you can't keep anything from Jack Fenton..."Jack said in a confident voice, blissfully unaware of the irony while his daughter sighed.

"So much for keeping my love life private..."Jazz muttered under her breath, as her parents kept asking her questions.

"So, what's his name?..."Maddie asked, being interested in her daughter's potential love life.

"His name is Baylor. And he's NOT my boyfriend, he's just a ski instructor..."Jazz insisted.

"We never said the word "boyfriend", sweetie..."Maddie said in a teasing voice, while her daughter flushed in embarrassment.

"Why not invite him over for dinner? We can meet him, and I can blather on and on about ghosts..."Jack said not-so helpfully.

"Pass. I don't want to freak him out when you two clearly still want to hunt down the rumored abominable snowman ghost in the forests. Plus, knowing you two, your first meeting with him will probably end with him getting covered in goop or dad mistaking him for a ghost and chasing him until the cops have to get involved..."Jazz refused, worried they would scare Baylor off with their usual antics.

"Now Jasmine, your father and I aren't that bad. Danny's girlfriend never had any problems with us. Star and Johnathan even suggested that we all make plans to have a get-together at one another's houses for dinner more often. I don't see why you think we'd cause any trouble and why you have to be so worried..."Maddie said, while her daughter rolled her eyes and decided to spell it out for them.

"Need I remind you of Chief Boyle and a certain contract you guys signed a few days ago? Or about the MULTIPLE times you guys attacked Mr. Lancer after mistakenly thinking he's a ghost?..."Jazz reminded, while her parents flinched.

"We settled out of court with Lancer..."Jack said, but his daughter sent him a glare.

"That's not the point, Dad. And what about the time you both thought I was a ghost and captured me in a net? Or about the fact that our family is banned from 3 different restaurants in town?!..."Jazz reminded, and the Fenton father looked sheepish now.

"Okay...we goofed up a lot and we apologized about thinking you're a ghost, Jazzerincess. Also, I still say that the incident at that restaurant with the "All You Can Eat" special wasn't my fault..."Jack argued.

"That's right...and didn't you once tell Danny that he should be more willing to bring Star closer to the family and to get to know us better?..."Maddie said, while her daughter rolled her eyes again.

"Only because not telling her about how wacky our family is would be considered an entrapment..."Jazz muttered.

"You know that we would never trap anyone unless they were ghosts..."Jack said and his daughter shook her head, trying to ignore a headache right now.

"Parents... so embarrassing..."They heard Jazz grumble before she left in a huff.

"Teenagers...so dramatic..."Jack muttered.

"Now Jack, Jazz is young and wants to hang out with a boy that she likes. We don't want to embarrass her..."Maddie said.

"How would we embarrass her?..."Jack asked in a clueless way, while his wife shrugged.

"Let's just be grateful that this guy she met at least seems to be much better than that biker hooligan she hung out with that one time..."Maddie stated.

"Don't remind me. I'm just glad that Danny scared him off. Who knows what would have happened to Jazz if she kept hanging around a bad influence like that..."Jack commented.

"Let's just be grateful that she eventually came to her senses. And we can only hope she has better taste in guys now..."Maddie said, before they went back to their own breakfast and made more plans to hunt ghosts later.

Present Time

"Looking back, I probably would have been better off hanging out with my parents instead..."Jazz grumbled.

"At least that Baylor guy was a step up from Johnny 13..."Danny teased, and Jazz sent him a glare.

"Don't remind me of that. Ever..."Jazz said.

"Who's...oh never mind..."Misty said, deciding Johnny 13 was probably just another person who caused her new friend's trouble in the past.

"I almost wished that it was Johnny I dealt with, since at least then I could use our parents' weapons on him and not feel guilty..."Jazz muttered bitterly, getting more attention from the others.

"I'm already guessing that the reason why she is like this is because things went REALLY sour with that Baylor guy. I'm calling it..."Sam said.

"My guess is that he had a girlfriend or something that he didn't tell her about..."Misty said.

"My guess is that he was a ski resort version of Gregor. I'm calling it..."Tucker said, while Jazz looked annoyed.

"I kind of feel bad that I sicked the Morons In White on him accidentally, but I still want to deck him, since he was a total fake..." Danny said, still hating him.

"Same..."Sam admitted, while Danny's sister frowned at their antics.

"My love life is not a thing for you all to make comments on..."She complained, while her brother rolled his eyes.

"You've literally been making comments on Danny's love life since he had one. Now it's your turn..."Tucker said, defending his position while Jazz pouted.

"Moving on. Anyway, after breakfast...I went back for what was thankfully my LAST skating lesson and that Glaciar guy wasn't going easy on anything..." Danny said, as he continued with his tale.

Back to the story

Danny was once again undergoing his training for the Path of the Far frozen warrior and Glaciar was being as strict as ever.

"Remember to keep your back straight and perfect your posture. You also missed the landing by an inch this time!..."Glaciar ordered, not giving the boy any slack.

Danny resisted the urge to yell at him and focused on what he thought was something important to save the day and help one of his ghostly allies.

"This is to help Frostbite. After this is done, then you can complain to him about this guy's attitude all you want..."Danny thought as he continued to memorize the technique until he could do it by heart.

All the while, Star watched and frowned.

"Poor Danny. This wasn't what our first ski trip was supposed to be like..."Star thought, feeling upset.

Her eyes landed on Glaciar and she glared at him. She still didn't trust him and still felt that something was off about him.

"Back to work, Great One. I want to see perfection and nothing less..."Glaciar ordered the ghost boy, who was now practicing doing every step of the Path of the Far Frozen warrior, step by step.

Once done, Glaciar smiled.

"Finally...it's perfect..."Glaciar said, looking happy with the results.

"Finally..." Danny said, thinking he can finally take a break.

"Now do it again about five dozen times. Brand it to your muscle memory..."Glaciar said and Danny's jaw dropped.

"WHAT?! But you just said it was perfect?!..."Danny shouted, looking shocked he was still making him do this.

"Well, we need to make sure the technique is MORE than perfect if we want to make sure this isn't some fluke. Need I remind you that we only have until sundown and when the moon is full in order to have a chance to recover the chalice. Now, again..."Glaciar ordered, and Danny tried hard not to scream right now.

"Detention with Lancer is nowhere near as bad as this! At least he doesn't care about posture or how I step!..." Danny thought as he was forced to yet again practice the technique from start to finish.

As the training continued, Star was thinking of ways to investigate more about Glaciar and his true intentions. She excused herself by saying she needed to head back to the resort because her dad called her but in reality, she wanted to do some investigating on their new "friend".

"Okay...time to find out what you're up to, Glaciar..."Star thought, as she knew just where to start looking.

His cave.

Inside

While the yeti ghost was berating Danny for one of his landings not being up to his standards, Star took this opportunity.

"Let's see if this ghost has some skeletons in his closet..." Star thought, as she snuck inside Glaciar's cave.

The blonde girl used the infiltration skills she picked up since joining Team Phantoms to sneak around and try and find some clues. She began to look around the cave, but it was just the same as she saw yesterday.

A snowy cave that was filled with a bunch of high tech yet somehow obsolete technology and weapons, lots of weapons. In the corner of her eyes Star saw some tribal artifacts from the tribes who'd originally settled mount Amity next to a throne like armchair.

The most distinctive feature is that it has Glaciar's name carved into it and seemed to be even more extravagant looking compared to what she saw at the Far Frozen during her last visit there.

"I'm not sure if this chair is normal decor in the far frozen, or if this is just Glaciar's taste in furniture..." Star thought, but shook her head as she kept looking.

After 15 minutes of searching, she frowned and looked impatient.

"Okay, there has got to be something here that can help me communicate with Frostbite or at least give me a clue of what Glaciar's real intentions are..." Star thought as she looked around, being careful not to set off potential traps or set off some kind of alarm.

The blonde girl was careful as she looked around. She tried to find some sort of clues of Glaciar and the true nature of his so-called mission...or at least some sort of phone so she can get in contact with someone who might know something about him.

She looked around the cave, but it was pretty big and it had a lot of stuff in it, as well as "rooms" that were connected caves that Glaciar apparently used to store more of his stuff.

And so far, she didn't find anything that could be remotely useful.

"Come on, he might have been on a 300 year long mission for the chalice, but he obviously had to have some kind of contact with Frostbite if he knew about Danny..." Star muttered in frustration as she tried to search.

Star continues her search around the cave. She checked underneath some of his furniture and noticed some dust and looked at it with disgust.

"Ew! Seriously, has this guy ever heard of a feather duster?..."She thought with a cringe.

It didn't help that some of the dust and frost within the cave looked a bit similar too. Star sneezed and coughed when the wind blew some more snow on her, but she recovered.

Seeing that this search was going to take a while, Star sighed and recalled she had parents who might ask questions about her whereabouts unless she thinks fast.

She pulled out her cellphone to call her dad.

"Hi Dad. Look. Just wanted to let you know I am going to be at the spa for a while...I want to get a facial, massage and such...so I will be busy for a while. I should be back to the resort by curfew. Just wanted to let you know. Okay, I'll be back by curfew, and I won't be out late. Okay...okay...okay dad, bye..." Star said, before hanging up.

The blonde girl then began to search around for anything that could be a clue about Glaciar and his true nature.

As well as what he TRULY needs that chalice thing for.

Present Time

"Ugh! That place was a total labyrinth of junk that it was hard to tell what was actually clues and what was just junk he collected during his travels in the human world. Not to mention, apparently spring cleaning seems to not exist for a slob like him. I swear that one of the tunnels in that cave was like a junkyard..."Star muttered as she recalled looking through all of this stuff, including his closet and recalled how messy it was.

"You should've seen my parents' lab after Dad works on something or after he returns from a yard sale. Now that's a junkyard ..."Danny said, and Jazz nodded in agreement.

"Whatever but I doubt your dad had a collection of old knitting needles and glass animal figurines...or an army of dust bunnies under his bed as well..." Star mumbled.

"Knitting needles?..."Sam repeated.

"Glass animal figurines?..."Tucker questioned.

"He was in the human world for a long time, so I guess that he just picked up a hobby or something..." Danny said, while his girlfriend continued with her side of the story.

Back to the story

After another half an hour of searching, the blonde girl was losing her patience since she didn't find anything truly incriminating yet or even a phone so she could contact Frostbite or someone else from the Far Frozen.

Anyone who could possibly talk some sense into Glaciar and get him to back off.

"Geez, this guy has some film projector thingy that looks like an old school movie camera, but he doesn't have any kind of phone? This has to be one of those ironic moments..." Star thought, feeling frustrated.

She kept looking through what was a bookshelf and found what could be described as old fashion magazines with several ghost yeti's on the cover, including some females, and they were all wearing armor and holding weapons.

"Ghost have magazines?..."Star said, confused before he put it back.

She was about to give up, only to spot something that caught her attention.

It was a metallic box that had a sign on it that reads "KEEP OUT" and "PROPERTY OF GLACIAR!"

"Talk about subtle..."Star said sarcastically as she opened the box and saw what was inside.

She then saw that it was a device that looked vaguely like a big metal key, only more high tech looking and it had what could be described as a big crystal in the center of it. As well as some glowing lights and had small unfamiliar symbols written on it that she couldn't read.

"Huh? What is this thing?..." Star said as she picked it up, being curious.

However, it was a mistake as it suddenly activated and began to glow a blue aura, and the blonde girl was alarmed by the sudden activation of this small device that she accidentally caused.

"Oh man! What did I do?!..." Star yelled, as the aura surrounded her, and she began to panic.

Suddenly a portal appeared, and Star was sucked inside it. The portal then closed, with Star vanishing from the spot and the device landed back inside Glaciar's box, as if nothing had ever happened.

Present Time

"You got sucked into a portal?!..."Sam, Tucker and Misty all yelled in shock.

"Yeah...looking back, it probably wasn't smart to mess around with unknown tech from the ghost zone...even if it did work out in the end..."Star said, not regretting that happened to be honest.

"And where were you while your girlfriend was possibly sucked into another dimension?..."Sam asked as she turned to Danny, almost disappointed that he had been close by when that happened yet apparently didn't notice.

"Tired...hungry...about to pass out from exhaustion and overwork while being ordered around by a guy who was stricter and more unreasonable than Lancer and Testlaff put together! So, I'm sorry if I was a little out of it at the time to notice! I already spent days apologizing to Star, so get off my back!..." Danny snapped, shocking Sam silent with his tone.

"It wasn't Danny's fault. At the time, he thought that I went back to the resort and that jerk kept drilling him into the ground with his unrealistic standards and being a bigger pain in the butt than all of our teachers put together..." Star went, defending her boyfriend since he had been going through a lot at the time and she never blamed him.

Once everyone settled down, Star continued with the story.

Back to the story

Star suddenly fell out of a portal and landed on a pile of snow.

"AHHH!..."She exclaimed as she coughed and crawled out of the snow pile that she suddenly found herself in.

She looked around and saw she was no longer inside a cave and was outside in a snowy and empty area.

"Geez...where am I? Don't tell me I did all that just to be teleported outside?..."Star said as she got up and shook the snow out of her hair.

She looked but didn't see anything like the cave she was just in, the resort or anywhere close to either. She was starting to worry now.

"Oh man, don't tell me that device sent me all the way to the North pole or something?!..."Star said, almost panicking right now as she was worried that she was far away from home now.

She tried to get her cell phone and call for help, but didn't get any signal.

"Okay...don't panic, Star. Don't panic. You just have no idea where you are, but you can find your way back...hopefully. Just look for help. Come on Star, you got to find out where the heck you even are right now, and maybe even get directions back to the resort..." Star thought, as she tried to look around for anyone to help her.

Star continued to walk around and call for help, getting more agitated and worried as she did so.

"Okay...I think it's time to panic..."She said, seeing a barren expanse of icy tundra.

Where was she? She wasn't sure, but what Star did know is that she was somewhere cover in snow...and her phone STILL wasn't getting signal which only made her more worried about her fate.

However, her salvation came in a surprising way as a certain group spotted her and rushed over to her, believing she was an intruder.

"Halt! Who goes there?!..."Was loudly heard.

Star turned around and saw it was a group of familiar ghost yetis and their chief as well. The blonde girl let out a sigh of relief.

"Frostbite? Oh, thank goodness, I'm in the Far Frozen! I was almost afraid that I was in trouble..." Star said, relieved to see ghosts who were also her boyfriend's ghostly allies and friends.

Frostbite and his warriors calmed down once they saw it was one of their human allies.

"Ah, the Great one's lady friend. How are you, Lady Star? Apologies if we startled you. It's always an honor to have someone so close to the savior of the ghost zone visit us..."Frostbite said in a gallant way, as he and his warriors stood down and behaved more polite towards the girlfriend of their greatest ally.

"Where is the Great One and your other friends?..."Frostbite asked, looking around and didn't see Danny or their friends.

Star sighed.

"Back on earth. I'm afraid that I'm here by accident. I was checking out some weird key thing that created a portal and it sent me here. Not sure how though..."She explained.

"A key? Are you serious? Who could possess technology advance enough to go through our security and teleport you here?..."Frostbite asked, not liking the sound of that.

"Someone back on earth, who is the reason I was trying to contact you in the first place. It's someone who you're apparently really buddy buddy with..." Star said, looking like she wanted to complain.

Frostbite wondered what that meant, while the blonde girl began to talk...or rather complain to him.

"Frostbite, look...I know you and Glaciar are close friends and all, but he's being really hard on Danny and-..." Star was cut off when Frostbite and his men gasped and even looked furious now.

"GLACIAR?!..."They all yelled and the one most alarmed was Frostbite.

"Glaciar?! Did you say Glaciar?!..."Frostbite demanded, almost sounding angry at the mention of that name and Star was surprised by this reaction.

"Y-yes..he...he said that he was one of your warriors and he needed Danny's help. He said that he was under your orders..." Star said, while Frostbite approached her with a serious look, like something was really, REALLY wrong.

"Lady Star, this is most serious! Glaciar is NOT one of my warriors! He was a traitor, who was banished long ago and is very dangerous!..."Frostbite revealed. shocking Star.

"What?!..."The blonde girl exclaimed.

"That coward is no longer a part of our tribe!..."One warrior shouted, looking mad right now.

"Indeed, he is no friend of ours!..."Another warrior shouted, looking ready to break something at the mere mention of Glaciar's name.

"That scoundrel is unworthy of the title of warrior of the Far Frozen. He lacks the honor needed to be one and he is nothing more than a pathetic, cowardly snake and a stain on our people's history! ..."Blizzard shouted, while the other warriors all started yelling and snarling.

"He is?..."Star asked, nervous as Frostbite nodded while his warriors were growling in anger and disgust at hearing about Glaciar.

"Centuries ago, he betrayed our people and was banished as punishment for his treachery. He is nothing more than a dishonorable memory of our people. I have not even heard of him in a very long time, but it seems that he has returned. This is not good..."Frostbite revealed and the blonde girl was shocked before it turned into anger.

"I knew that there was something off about him. He said he was your friend and one of your right-hand man, but he's just some lying jerk. I knew it..." Star said, before the yeti chief turned to the blonde girl and had a serious frown on his face.

"My young friend, you don't seem to realize just how serious or dangerous Glaciar the betrayer is. He is very tricky and deceptive, and while weak physically, he is not someone to underestimate. Something that I learned the hard way a long time ago..."Frostbite said, as he began to tell her the truth of the ghostly yeti who claims to have been his friend...all the while he put his hand on his icy arm.

Present Time

"RING!..."

"Oh man, mom and Dad..."Danny said, getting a phone call.

"Seriously?! You're cutting the story off again?! And right when it's getting interesting!..."Sam complained.

"Sorry guys but you know that parent calls can't be ignored..." Danny said, as they sighed while he answered the phone call.

As he talked to his parents on the phone, his friends were starting to get frustrated by all the constant interruptions.

"Do these interruptions happen EVERY time they tell a story?..." Misty asked out loud.

"Pretty much..."Sam said, while Tucker shook his head.

"We're all going to be ready to go to college by the time this story is over..."The techno-geek complained.

"Relax you guys, you know that he'll be back soon..." Star said, as they took yet another break from the story.
