Three days later

It has been four days since that dreadful day of Neuma falling from that cliff. Gimli and I are preparing for the upcoming war that is upon us, but I'm not really caring. I wanted to set out and search for my companion and best friend, but Théoden wouldn't let me go. Éowyn has taken care of me, by cleaning my wound and making sure I had enough rest. I know she means well and I'm thankful for that, but I know she's grieving in her own way for Neuma. I can see that Éowyn is very fond of Neuma and I hate to break her heart. I mean, her feelings towards my best friend is something Neuma needs to cut off herself. I don't think I should tell Éowyn that Neuma is already engaged. I think Éowyn still has hope it can work between Neuma and her, because of what Neuma told her. Neuma told Éowyn that Lostariel is sailing to the Undying Lands and that she probably won't see her again. That basically means, you can try and win my heart. I don't have the heart to tell Éowyn that Neuma will never love her, at least not in the way she wants. Honestly, I think Neuma only cares for Éowyn because she's human just like herself and that Neuma wants Men kind to be safe.

Right now, while looking out over the plains outside Helm's Deep, I see Théoden and other men escorting little children to the cave while older children are preparing to fight. I understand why but if this world is going to be the world of Men, then why risk their future? What is all those children die? Then the world of Men grows thin. They don't deserve to be at this fate. But nobody should and my hatred towards Saruman, the wizard everyone call; Saruman, the wise... well, I don't think he's very wise, choosing the side of evil. Sure, power can be tempting, but most of the time good wins. I mean, look at the last alliance three thousand years ago. The elves didn't give up and formed an alliance with Men. They fought side by side and defeated Sauron.

When I look towards the wounded, I see a caring Éowyn helping them. Pouring water from the well and attempting to their wounds. My wound is completely healed, thanks to her and I can't thank her enough for that. Suddenly I hear whispers around me, talking about someone coming on a brown horse, a little wounded. That can't be Neuma, she fell of a cliff, but then I remember my speaking words towards Lostariel with my mind. Did she brought Neuma back to life? I want to get down with the stairs, but can't go any further because Neuma comes up before me.

,,Le abdollen ( You're late )." I tell her before looking over her wounds. ,,You look terrible." And in that moment we just smile at each other, relieved to see each other again. I hold out Lostariel's moonstone necklace to her and she gratefully takes it.

,,Hannon le ( Thank you )." She whispers and I just give her a nod.

,,Cin scared i udún ad- -o ammen ( You scared the hell out of us )." I tell her and then push her lightly. She laughs.

,,Im'm sorrui, but ennas na- a more important ron at bor. Ennas are caen meneg orcs bo their té foeir hi ( I'm sorry, but there is a more important matter at hand. There are ten thousand orcs on their way right now )."

,,Ten thousand?!" I say in the common tongue. Neuma only nods.

,,That's why I need to speak with King Théoden right now." I nod as Neuma. goes forward. Gimli appears on top of the stairs as soon as Neuma is inside and together we follow Neuma into the throne room where king Theóden is now.

Neuma's / Beca's point of view

As I arrive at Helm's Deep on the back of Brego, whispers are all around me. Thanks to Chloe I'm still alive, but that doesn't change the fact that I am not with her right now and I probably will never be with her because she sailed away to the Undying Lands. A voice catches my attention as I dismounts Arod and soon I find Gimli pushing himself through the crowd towards me.

,,You are, without a doubt, the luckiest, the canniest, and the most reckless woman I've ever known!" He flings his arms around my waist. ,,Bless you." I push back and squeeze Gimli's shoulder.

,,Gimli, where is the king?" I ask him, knowing there are more important things to do than reuniting. He eyes up to the throne hall upstairs and I give him a thankful nod, before going up the staircase. At the top, Legolas is in front of me.

,,Le abdollen ( You're late )." He tells me before looking over my wounds. ,,You look terrible." And in that moment we just smile at each other, relieved to see each other again. He holds out Lostariel's moonstone necklace to me and I gratefully take it.

,,Hannon le ( Thank you )." I whisper and he just gives me a nod.

,,Cin scared i udún ad- -o ammen ( You scared the hell out of us )." He tells me and then pushes me lightly. I laugh.

,,Im'm sorrui, but ennas na- a more important ron at bor. Ennas are caen meneg orcs bo their té foeir hi ( I'm sorry, but there is a more important matter at hand. There are ten thousand orcs on their way right now )."

,,Ten thousand?!" He says in the common tongue. I only nod.

,,That's why I need to speak with King Théoden right now." He nods as I go forward. Gimli and Legolas follow me not a few minutes later. Théoden and his warriors look up at me in shock, right before Éowyn rushes over to me and gives me a hug while sighing out of relief. After she releases me again, I turn towards King Théoden.

,,There is a great host of orcs on their way right now, heading straight towards Helm's Deep." I tell him.

,,A great host you say?" Théoden paces and I nod.

,,All Isengard is emptied." I say and hear gasps around me. ,,That war that is upon us is coming faster than you realize."

,,How many?" Théoden asks me.

,,Ten thousand strong at least." Théoden stops pacing and turns to look at me.

,,Ten thousand?!"

,,It is an army bred for a single purpose; to destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall."

,,Let them come." Théoden says, striding off to assemble the few men who are able to fight. Legolas, Gimli and I follow him to the entrance of Helm's Deep. ,,We will cover the causeway and the gate from above. No army has ever breached the deeping wall or set foot inside the Hornburg." Théoden says. Gimli shifts.

,,This is no rabble of mindless orcs. These are Uruk-Hai. Their armor is thick and their shields broad." He says. I look at Théoden and the stern look on his face.

,,I have fought many wars, master dwarf. I know how to defend my own keep." The king says, walking back in the keep. ,,They will break upon this fortress like water on a rock. Saruman's hordes will pillage and burn, we've seen it before. Crops can be resound, homes rebuilt. Within these walls, we will outlast them." Théoden walks through the keep until we're at the top of the tower.

,,They do not come to destroy Rohan's crops or villages. They come to destroy its people." I said urgently. ,,Down to the last child." King Théoden turns around and grabs my collar.

,,What would you have me do? Look at my men, their courage hangs by a thread." He says. ,,If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end as to be worthy of remembering." Théoden finishes and wants to walk further ahead.

,,Send out riders, my lord. You must call for aid." Théoden furrows his eyebrows as he walks back towards me.

,,And who will come? Elves? Dwarves?" Théoden looks at Legolas and Gimli, before turning his gaze back to me. ,,We are not so lucky in our friends as you. The old alliances are dead." Théoden scowls.

,,Gondor will answer." I tell the king.

,,Gondor?!" Théoden takes a daring step towards me. ,,Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell? Where was Gondor when our enemies closed in around us? Where was Gon - No, Milady Rebecca, we are alone." He walks away, calling out orders to get the women and children into the cave. I'm angry at Théoden for not listening to me and storm off to the throne room, followed by Gimli and Legolas.
