Vol. 2 Chapter 1: New Semester

The sun shone overhead at Beacon as the sister duo of Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long made their way back to campus after arriving from Patch from a two week long break after the end of the previous semester.
"Finally back at Beacon…" Ruby sighed as She took in the air.
"Damn shame we had to spend break under house arrest, though…" Yang sighed.
"We? You snuck out half the time!" Her sister retorted.
After the debacle at the docks, not only had Taiyang found out, she had basically put them under house arrest as punishment during break. He was at least merciful enough to let Ruby talk with Fenris in that time; He knew the wolf boy had serious separation anxiety.
Speaking of the wolf faunus, as it turned out, he'd opted to head home with his family for the break, rather than staying at Beacon or going to Patch. Though the girls were hardly surprised, as he hadn't seen his family since his abduction.
In the first call they had over the break, Fenris told Ruby that he had gotten a massive tongue lashing for trusting a man their father had warned them about.
Then in a later call, he elaborated that the man in question was general James Ironwood, and that he'd explained to Fenris' father Locke that he was trying to give the boy a connection who could help him control his natural abilities—but ended up doing so with someone who'd gained Ironwood's trust under false pretenses.
And on top of that, he'd stated that before the general had lost his entire side, the wolf faunus had bitten off the man's hand in retribution for betraying him.
Ruby had honestly contemplated kicking Ironwood in the balls for that mistake…
He'd also mentioned getting a new weapon made by two friends of his family, the Huldra brothers, Brok and Sindri Forge—though he made no mention of what kind of weapon it was or what it could do.
This left the reaper wondering what it was.
Back to the present…
As the two girls started to ease their sisterly bickering, they soon took notice of the fact that Blake was waiting there for them, along with Luca.
The three girls were quick to enter a warm embrace before they pulled back, allowing Yang to grab Luca by the collar of his shirt and kiss him.
"Miss me?" She asked with a smile.
"More than a little." Luca sighed as he embraced her.
"So, how was your break here at Beacon?" Ruby asked.
"I had some mother-son bonding with Professor Goodwitch, which was very nice, if I'm honest." Luca replied, sounding better than he was at the start of the year.
"Ren and Luca were good company, and Nora's antics kept things interesting." Blake nodded.
"How does it feel, having Professor Goodwitch as your mom?" Yang questioned, looking at her snake themed boyfriend.
"A lot better than one would think, and that's made better by the fact she officially adopted me over the break." The snake faunus smiled in reply.
As the four continued with small talk, a Schnee Dust Company airship soon came into view as Neptune also arrived, looking up at the ship in question.
"Wow, Weiss sure does know how to travel in style." He whistled.
Meanwhile, on the airship, Weiss was busy mentally preparing herself in the on-board restroom.
The girl seemed more relaxed than before, but also more vulnerable and small then she usually seemed, as if she were a turtle curled up inside her shell.
Then, after taking a breath, she became the Weiss everyone knew. Then she left and went to get her things ready.
Back down with the others, they noticed that Sun wasn't with Neptune.
"Hey, where's Sun?" Ruby asked.
"I have no idea." The blue haired teen shrugged in reply. "He left Mistral before me, but I'm gonna give him an earful when he gets here." He nodded as Weiss arrived.
However, as she made her way off the ship, one of her servants, a bat faunus with impaired vision, accidentally fumbled her bag.
Weiss looked like she was going to chew him out, but she was quick to restrain herself and took a breath before speaking.
"Be more careful next time." She told him, taking the case from him and walking away.
As she approached the rest of her team, they seemed to want to comment on the rather curt exchange, as did Luca, but resolve not to before Ruby and Yang brought Weiss into a group hug that Blake abstained from on account of the other to squeezing the heiress to death.
"I missed you, Weiss!" Ruby exclaimed in glee.
"I missed you girls, too!" Weiss wheezed as she hugged them back before they finally pulled back, where she started giving them gifts she brought from Atlas as another transport arrived. "I got a set of organizer binders for you, Ruby." She said, handing the speedster said binders. "Some high quality Atlassian Shampoo and conditioner for you, Yang." She continued as she gave the blonde the gifts.
This caused the buxom brawler to shoot a glance at Luca, wiggling her eyebrows with a seductive gleam in her eye, as if to say 'wanna try these out in the shower together tonight?' to the Grass Snake faunus, who could only look away while nervously scratching his chin, his face a bright shade of pink.
"Blake, I wasn't quite sure what you'd like, so tell me what you think." The heiress told the stealth specialist as she handed her a book.
It was a copy of Third Crusade, a book that Blake had lost and never got another copy of again.
"It's fine, Weiss." The cat faunus nodded. "It's just this particular book brings back some… Unpleasant memories." She explained.
"Bad break up." Yang whispered, trying to explain things as simply as possible.
Weiss nodded silently in understanding.
"... Where's Fenris?" The whitette asked with a blink as she looked around, not seeing him anywhere.
"He hasn't arrived yet." Ruby replied.
It was then that the transport disembarked, and as through a crowd of arriving students, a familiar pair of wolfish ears and a tail came into view as the group's missing Timber Wolf faunus finally arrived.
The Wolf faunus hadn't changed much physically, other than the fact that his hair was no longer black and was now its natural color, that being white on account of the stress from his years of torture. As well as some arm wrappings coving up his chain scars.
Attire wise was a different story.
He was wearing a gray and blue jacket with a white fur lined hood, a black shirt and matching pants, some gray armor on his chest with his duo wolf head symbol on it, some matching leg greaves, arm bracers, fingerless gloves, a waist harness and a pair of combat boots.
Lastly, in place of his blades, Fenris now seemed to have what looked like a sort of battle axe, one that was held on his back by a hook on his armor's back.
It had a silver colored blade etched with what looked like runes, a wooden shaft and a silver handle. It also had runes carved into it that seemed to glow a white blue, with a cold mist coming off of it, suggesting that ice dust was something it used.
"FENRIS!" Ruby cheered as she leapt into the boy's arms, nuzzling into him as she hugged him tightly.
"Ooh, it was only two weeks and I missed this…" Fenris sighed as he embraced the girl he'd fallen for.
The silver eyed girl couldn't help but giggle as she blushed before she suddenly kissed him firmly.
Off to the side, Yang's jaw dropped, Weiss' eyes widened in surprise, Luca was giving a thumbs up, Neptune gave her a double thumbs up and Blake had gotten a 'Go Ruby!' sign from… somewhere.
Fenris, meanwhile, was surprised by this, but reciprocated nonetheless and kissed her back, holding the shorter girl up by her waist on account of her being smaller than him.
Then they separated for air and looked into each other's eyes.
"Two weeks of waiting… worth it." Ruby sighed happily as she snuggled into Fenris.
"I… Wasn't even aware you wanted to kiss me." The boy admitted.
"Now you know." Ruby smiled.
"Come on, let's go get something to eat, I hear Ren and Nora are already there while Jaune and Pyrrha get settled in." Blake told them.
(Later)
The group of students were all gathered around the lunch table, when a familiar Simian blonde dropped to the seat between Blake and Neptune, revealing that it was Sun who had been hanging from the ceiling.
"Hey, everybody! What's shakin'?" He grinned.
"When did you get here?!" The blue haired teen yelped in surprise.
"I got here four hours ago, already got my stuff unpacked." The blonde smiled nonchalantly.
"You are such a dork." Blake chuckled as she tried to hide her blush and smile.
Ruby's keen eyes spotted it, but decided against putting Blake on the spot.
"Things sure were quiet around here without you…" Yang nodded, also noticing Blake's blush as she caught some food flung at her by Nora.
There would be time for teasing later, anyway.
For now though…
Several binders were set on the table by the silver eyed speedster as she stood up whilst everyone was catching up.
"Sisters, Friends, Weiss." Ruby said as she gestured to all present.
"Hey! The heiress exclaimed indignantly.
"For a score and seven seconds ago I had a dream." The girl said.
"This oughta be good." Yang noted to Blake as she caught another bit of food.
"I had a dream–That we would all come together and have the best day… EVER!" The speedster exclaimed.
"Really putting that binder to use, huh?" Luca remarked as he looked at his fellow speedster's binder.
"What're you talking about?" Blake questioned.
"I'm talking about kicking off this new semester with a bang!" Ruby smiled.
"Well I start my days off with a Yang." The blonde punned, causing Luca to facepalm while everyone shook their heads.
"Goddammit, Yang!" Sun said.
"Boo!" Nora called, hurling an apple at the blonde.
"Look, it's been a good two weeks and between the exchange students arriving this week, the festival at the end of the year, and classes tomorrow, this is the only day we'll be able to spend time together!" Ruby told them. "Which is why I've planned tons of activities for us today!" She beamed.
"I think I'll sit this one out." Blake commented.
"Sit out or not, I believe that we should spend this last day together as a team." Weiss stated as Yang hurled an orange at Nora, who readied a pie–specifically a banana cream pie–to throw. "And I for one–." She continued as she stood up–only to stop mid sentence as she got a pie to the face.
This caused everyone to look at Nora, who tried (and failed) to pin the blame on a surprised Jaune, while both Pyrrha and Ren facepalmed.
"Well, I think that's my cue to leave." Luca said as he stood up–zipping away in a flurry of feathers.
(Elsewhere)
Meanwhile outside the cafeteria, Coco and Velvet were walking towards the dining hall whilst talking, the rabbit faunus expressing anxiety about a mission they were going to have rather soon.
"Relax, Vel. We'll handle it." She told her, not noticing the flood of students running out of the cafeteria–or Jaune sliding down the window after being thrown at it.
"I hope so…" Velvet sighed as they walked inside, and were pushed aside by students bolting out the door as food flew everywhere.
The cafeteria had become a comical war zone. On the far end was JNPR with Neptune and Sun while Team RWBY was with Fenris since Luca bounced.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Nora cackled as she stood atop a giant tower of stacked tables. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" She cheered.
Ruby, meanwhile, stomped her foot and caught a milk carton that flew up.
"Justice will be swift! Justice will be painful!" She exclaimed, crushing the carton as she pointed at JNPR. "It will be DELICIOUS!" She declared, getting cheers from her team and boyfriend.
Fenris let out a mighty howl as he took up a large tomahawk steak to use as an axe, while Sun tied four bananas and some celery together to make nunchucks and Neptune made a trident out of green onions and carrots.
"Off with their heads!" Nora called as she leapt down, launching watermelons at the group.
"Yang, turkey!" Ruby called, prompting her sister to shove her hands into a pair of turkeys and use them as edible gauntlets.
The blonde then proceeded to bash the melons away while Fenris swatted them away with his meat ax–his semblance actually slowly cooking it from the heat of his body, as well as the seasonings and butter that were flying everywhere. Yang then proceeded to launch the turkeys at the others, hitting both Jaune and Neptune in the face, before both Fenris and Blake went on the offensive–the cat faunus armed with loaves of bread.
The cat faunus clashed with Pyrrha, who was using a loaf of bread herself while Fenris clashed with Sun, who had his nunchucks made of banana, sausage links and leek stalks.
Neptune, meanwhile, was conscious again and took his carrot trident to attack Ruby while Ren went after Weiss–but the speedster skated around him on a tray and used his own weapon to swing herself around and kick him into the vending machine while Weiss sprayed Ketchup everywhere to make Ren slip–consequently bowling over tables–right as Yang got her turkeys back.
Nora, seeing she needed a weapon, immediately jumped up and tore a flagpole off and impaled it in a watermelon. She then began to attack Weiss and Ruby, actually sending the latter flying while the former retaliated with a swordfish, only to be slammed into the adjacent wall like a baseball.
Snarling at this, Fenris ate the entire steak part of his weapon whole before he rushed Nora with Yang, the two parrying Ren as he interrupted–only to be slammed down to the ground with a bone to the head–allowing Yang to rush the Fiskarian ginger unopposed.
The two clashed, exchanging swings and kicks as they fought. It ended in Nora's favor, allowing her to whack Yang so hard she was sent flying through the roof.
Fenris retaliated against the by whacking Nora into the vending machines with his bone axe, while Blake used a sausage whip to slap Sun back as well–before both of them had to dodge soda cans and bananas being thrown and launched at them.
Pyrrha, seeing that she was surrounded by soda cans, used her semblance and hurled them at Blake and Fenris, slamming her into a column and soaking her in carbonated liquid. The end result was her being dazed.
Meanwhile, outside the cafeteria, a woman with black hair and amber eyes was watching the ordeal–and was quite surprised by the redhead's semblance.
Ruby, having had just about enough of this shit, got ready to run–and zipped through the cafeteria at full speed with her semblance.
She caught… pretty much all the food scattered about in her backdraft, along with JNPR, Sun and Neptune. When she reached the other side, her backseat cracked the wall before she leapt upward, allowing her six opponents to slam into the wall and get pelted with the food Ruby had picked up. Then she landed in the spot she jumped from.
Seconds later, the bodies of the kids fell off the wall, leaving imprints.
"... I love you guys!" Sun whooped weakly, arms in the air, before passing out.
"Well, at least we know they had fun." Velvet said sheepishly as Coco glared at her, covered in food.
"At my expense!" The fashionista hissed before an irate Glynda entered, clearly not pleased.
Then she used her semblance to clean up the mess.
"Children, please… Don't play with your food." She said, adjusting her glasses while Luca returned.
"So, how was the madness?" He asked… Right as Yang came crashing through the roof, landing on him. "... Ow…!" He groaned in pain.
"Oh, hey Luca." Yang noted, looking down at her boyfriend.
Glynda groaned as the kids seemed to just keep having fun, before Ozpin put a hand on her shoulder.
"Let it go." He told her.
"They're supposed to be the defenders of the world." The woman said.
"And they will be. But for now they're still just children." The man said, watching as Fenris spun Ruby around happily while Yang laid on top of Luca and Sun tackled Blake, causing everyone to laugh. "So why not let them play the part?" He questioned, walking away. "After all, it's not a role they'll be able to play for long." He added ominously as he left.
Though as he left, Luca noticed the same girl from before in the distance, who looked back at him with an expression of mixed emotions on her face.
'Cinder…' The snake faunus thought, eyes widening slightly.
The girl didn't do or say anything, as she just turned and walked away.
(Elsewhere)
Meanwhile, at another Dust shop, Torchwick was ordering around White Fang members while carrying out a small conversation with a large masked man, a lieutenant, Jason Leatherback.
"I gotta say, I'm surprised by how efficient you are." Jason remarked.
"When no overpowered kids are involved, I'm like a well oiled machine." The bowler hat wearing man told him in response. "Seriously, have you guys encountered any weregrimm like that?" He asked.
"You mean the Fiskaran trio?" Jason questioned. "No, I've never encountered them personally in faunus form, but I did come across the World Serpent once while in Mistral." He mused.
"What's he doing here, then?" Roman wondered.
"No idea, but let's agree to not ask. That's not our business." The chainsaw wielding man told him in reply.
"I will admit though, it's amazing how much work can be done when one's work force is actually competent." The man muses.
"Motivations other than petty greed can be an effective tool." Jason waxed back.
"I can see that." Roman nodded. "But I disagree, there's more than one kind of greed and selfish desires can do great things to motivate a man." He noted. "Now let's get moving." He added as everyone left.
(Elsewhere)
Back with the kids, Ruby was enacting her Best Day Ever plan with various different activities all around school with her team, Team JNPR, CESN and CFVY.
"Okay, what did you come up with to start things off?" Luca questioned.
"Some games. Video, board–I got both." The reaper replied with a smile. "I was also thinking we could do a scavenger hunt, some different sports and finally a cookout in the evening." She continued. "Though Fenris also suggested going the the Hall of Valhalla Meadery since his siblings are going to have a concert there." She amended, looking at her boyfriend, who had an innocent look on his face as his tail wagged.
"A concert performed by his siblings? Oh, I gotta see that!" Yang grinned.
"Oh don't be coy, we all know this is at least partly so he can get wasted on mead." Luca said with an eye roll.
"That is rather obvious." Ren noted.
"Sounds good to me!" Nora nodded with a smile.
(Later)
The day went by roughly as planned, with the group first going roller blading at a local rink together, and Weiss having the most trouble out of them all.
"Really, Weiss? You can fight in heels, but roller skates make you struggle?" Ruby deadpanned..
"You try moving with wheels on your feet!" The heiress snapped. "Honestly, you'd think that it wouldn't be that different from ice skating…" She muttered as she watched Ruby and Fenris skate together alongside Sun, Blake, Luca and Yang.
(Later)
After that was the scavenger hunt, and as Team CESN took the win for that competition, they all took a small break. And as they did, Coco and Pyrrha were chatting about the clothes the redhead modeled over the break, while Luca was talking to Fox about how he could incorporate guns into his jetpack.
Ruby and Fenris decided to cuddle, though. It was on the fast track to becoming one of their favorite pastimes.

The cookout was also something that went very well, with Yang and Yatsuhashi making a myriad of food for everyone that was happily devoured by everyone in attendance.
Especially Fenris, for obvious reasons.
The meat never stood a chance…
Now though, they were in the Mead Hall that the Fiskaran faunus liked to go to, and as everyone, save perhaps Blake, Velvet, Fox and Luca, enjoyed a glass of chilled mead, of various kinds–Weiss was idly searching the crowds for one person in particular.
That being the particularly large anaconda faunus, Jordan Crimson.
After seeing exactly what Jordan looked like without his shirt, the heiress was unable to get him out of her head. Now she wanted to know if he was seeing anyone, and if he wasn't… Try and guess what happens after that.
Not that she was desperate, she wasn't a tramp–but you couldn't exactly fault her for having her own tastes.
It didn't take long for the others to see Jordan and Helena step on stage with their other brothers, Valentine and Nigel, as they began playing a song of theirs called "The Mead Song"... Which was oddly fitting given the setting.
"Well, they certainly have good taste." Sun remarked.
It wasn't long after that the situation around the gang's table was becoming more and more loose, with everyone having more and more mead as Jordan, Helena, Nigel and Valentine sat with them after their show—and then proceeded to also start drinking copious amounts of mead.
When it got intense enough, Fenris grabbed a surprised Ruby and started making out with her. That was just the start.
This was because Yang actually started doing the same with Luca, Nora was becoming more than a little affectionate with Ren–though he hardly seemed to be complaining–a very tipsy Pyrrha was actually two seconds away from tackling Jaune, Fox was conked out in Helena's lap as she didn't really seem to mind, Velvet and Yatsuhashi were possibly the only people besides Luca and Blake who were sober, a drunken Sun was cuddling himself in the lap of a very flustered Blake, Neptune was currently flirting with the nine tailed fox faunus bartender Fennika Rouge, and Coco was actually on stage singing…
And most surprising, as Weiss began to slowly become tipsy, she actually started to warm herself up to Jordan, her innocent and almost abused kitten vibes actually managing to spur the World Serpent's protective instincts into gear.
So it wasn't long before he started holding Weiss close to him, and the vibe he gave off practically screamed 'touch her and I'll devour your soul.'
Not that the Heiress minded, it actually seemed to remind her of the protective hold that her sister Winter would embrace her in when she was scared or hurt. It actually felt… nice to her, if she was honest.
She really wished this moment would last forever.
All in all, everybody actually had a great time.
(Timeskip)
Needless to say, not everyone expected to wake up in beds that weren't exactly their own the very next morning.
Ruby, Blake and Yang ended up waking up in the CESN dorms with Fenris, Luca and Sun respectively, with Blake actually sharing the monkey boy's hammock. But luckily in would seem that nothing sexual seemed to happen between the latter two–they just fell asleep together.
Ruby, Yang and their boyfriends on the other hand were a different story.
Ruby was pinned under Fenris, almost like the wolf boy was trying to be a blanket. Yang, on the other hand, was draped on top of Luca.
And meanwhile in the JNPR dorms, it was clear that the two pairs were in the same bed, but whether they'd gotten dirty was left up in the air.
But most surprisingly, was the fact that Weiss was currently sleeping in her bunk, right on top of Jordan Crimson, aka Jormungandr. Neptune was actually in Blake's bunk with a passed out Fennika Rouge on top of him. Fox was currently in Yang's Bunk with Helena lying next to him, and Coco was passed out in Ruby's bed.
So… Yeah. The morning after their day of fun was awkward, to say the least.
How exactly were they going to explain all this to Glynda and Ozpin…
Dragon Emperor0: Hey guys. Well, here we are. We're finally here, Vol. 2, after a very long set up we can finally start building towards the more crazy stuff we have in mind for this story going forward.
ThermalsniperN7: Which I think is pretty obvious right off the bangle. Ruby decided to hook up with Fenris for real, Luca's last name is Goodwitch now and Weiss is crushing hard on Jordan.
Dragon Emperor0: And about a million other things, but lets have Luca still use his original last name just for simplicity's sake. And as you guys can see, we decided to deviate from Fixing RWBY here because 1. We don't want this to be a copy paste, we're taking inspiration not taking outright. 2. Sun is already an established character as we liked the things were in the original show as is and already modified the FRWBY version to fit that anyway. 3. We actually have a character that we wanted to take Sun's place and we decided that her arrival would have had a better impact if we saved it for a more focused chapter, hence the changes made.
