Jungles Of Africa...

The Jungle was no place to be reckoned with...no human could possibly hope to survive as the soul PERSON in an environment this dire.

However, the many wildlife that originated from the Jungle made it seem very simple to traverse through their environment.

Among the most apex of these animals would definitely be the Chimpanzee, they practically ruled the jungle with the fact that they were probably the second smartest living beings on the planet, only second to Homo-Sapiens ofcourse.

A troop of Chimps was on their morning stroll.

Their leader was a large and robust male, he was known to them all as the King of this troop, the Alpha.

Besides him was his chosen Queen, she was a female chimp, smaller than he and many other males, but out of all the other females she was definitely the most worthy to rule besides him, this was Malu.

"Alpha, we smell something suspicious in our territory? Shall we investigate it?" A troop member chittered as he walked up to Alpha.

"Yes, we will all go in order to be safe, always remember, strength in numbers." Alpha huffed out as the troop began marching on all fours towards the strange scent, cautiously ofcourse, this could be a dangerous intruder for all they know.

The Tragedy...

When the troop arrived on the scene...it was nothing but chaos and mayhem.

They all hooted and huffed in distraught as they cautiously waited for Alpha and Malu to give out orders.

Alpha eyed the scene cautiously...it was a human jeeped that had crashed, as a strange black cloud rose from the front of the vehicle.

What was most shocking was the two dead Leopards...both due to gunshot wounds.

One of the big cat's body was laid under the car's front and the other was by the door.

Alpha sneered, he hated leopards...but he hated humans even more, they could all kill eachother and he'd be happy, one group poached chimps and the other hunted them for food, they were all enemies.

"Investigate human jeep...be careful." Alpha ordered his troop as everyone did that.

Malu ran up to the jeep as she leaped onto the hood, she noticed many bullets and bloodstains riddling the hood.

She then walked up towards the inside of the car.

The Queen hooted in shock as she alerted the entire troop to where she was.

They all came and noticed what had shocked her...

Inside the jeep was two human bodies...mangled and mamed, clawmarks riddled their bodies as their blood stained their clothes and their lifeless husks.

"Good, they killed eachother." Alpha stated as he walked up to his mate.

She snarled at him, he was so insensitive sometimes, she always tried to explain to him that not EVERY human was a poacher, but he never seemed to listen to her, he simply believed every human was a danger to his apes.

Suddenly a soft cooing drew all of their attention as Malu turned back to the human bodies.

There was a white sheet with a moving mass under it...the King and Queen immediately got tensed as the mass let out a snuffed cough under the sheet.

Alpha was too skeptical but Malu slowly reached her hand out to the sheet.

She then swiftly pulled the sheet back to reveal a human baby as the infant's eyes fluttered and he tried to focus on her and Alpha.

Alpha unintentionally began forming a sneer as his wife gave the baby a soft look.

The boy's curly soft hair crowned his head as his brown skin shone in the sunlight, his brown eyes had finally focused on her own as her gaze had fully softened.

She had seen how nasty some humans could be, but who could possibly see this tiny creature as a threat?

Malu then slowly reached down and picked Geleel up as he giggled and reached his tiny little hands towards her.

The troop all gasped and hooted in confusion, what were the King and Queen planning to do with the human child?

"We have to kill it." Alpha stated curtly as his wife gasped and cradled the baby to her chest.

"What is the matter with you? How could you say such a thing?" Malu question her mate.

"You want to risk the safety of the apes by keeping it?" Alpha questioned irately.

"He is only a BABY, what are you suggesting we do? Leave him here to die? We should keep him, raise him as our ow-" Malu was cutoff by Alpha.

"No! He is human! We cannot keep him! He is a dangerous to us all! If we keep him alive what's stopping him from turning on us? You are not keeping him, that is final." Alpha said dismissively as he and his wife shared a glare.

The other apes knew what this meant...yup, the human was being kept, anytime the King and Queen had one of their staredowns, the latter was sure to win.

Malu offered her mate no response, she simply ensured Geleel was tucked into one of her arms before she began walking off.

Alpha sneered at her back in anger, he then barked at his troop to follow him as they all began going home, there was no way he was really about to run a troop of Chimps with a HUMAN in their midst.

As they began leaving...they all failed to notice that just a few clicks away there were some bloody leopard tracks leading into the other side of the jungle...

Chimpanzee Kingdom

Sure enough, it was now night time now in the Chimp Kingdom.

Malu sat in her nest as she still had the baby cradled in her arm, she ticked his stomach with her index finger aa he cooed and blew raspberries at her.

Alpha walked into their nest with a sneer on his face as he glared at her and the human infant.

"If you are so upset about something we've already spoke about, you are very much welcome to sleep outside." Malu stated firmly as her husband bared his teeth at her and laid down, facing in the opposite direction of her ofcourse.

"Don't mind him little baby...he's just a grumpy chimp, you may be human, but I will raise you as my own, you are going to be the best ape you can be...now...what should I call you." Malu stated to herself as she held the baby high above her head.

The moonlight shone behind him as he smiled at her.

"Ah yes, I have it now...Geleel, I will call you Geleel, the bravest and the strongest ape to be..." Malu stated with a proud gaze up at the now dubbed Geleel.

"Now, let's go get you some food so you don't starve...son." Malu stated with a fond smile...sure her and Alpha would one day have a real child of their own...but for now Geleel would be raised as their first child...whether her mate agreed or not, he'd have to come around at some point.

11 Years Later

"Wooooooohoooo!" A loud whoop rang through the Chimp kingdom as the troop had just fully awakened and prepared for the day.

Everyone knew where that whoop was coming from...ofcourse it was Malu and Alpha's hairless child, Geleel.

The ebony skinned boy had grown to be about 5'3 at this point, and his hair was styled in a very messy and unkept afro.

Now, as the other apes could hide their...tools...with fur, Geleel had made some hide woven boxers which he used as a loincloth to cover himself off.

Geleel had defied his own genealogy somehow though...the boy had human features but was somehow able to traverse through the trees like any Chimp could...perhaps better than most.

The boy swung from branch to branch...vine to vine, as he leaped off of a tree and began running on all fours throughout the troop.

"Goodmorning!" He shouted as he zoomed through the troop.

He had gotten a couple goodmornings back and a few disparaged grunts from the grumpy old apes.

Geleel didn't care though, he was on the search for his mother right now.

He had gotten her a Cashew, which was her favorite fruit.

"Sorry Miss Talo!" Geleel exclaimed as he accidentally brushed past the older chimp.

Geleel then came to a halting stop as he came upon his family's nest.

"Geleel? Is that you dear?" Malu questioned her son who walked into the nest.

"Yes mama, I brought you a cashew." Geleel said as he offered her the little fruit.

"Thank you my love, you want to follow me to do some errands?" Malu questioned her son.

"Ofcourse mother, can we go right now?" He questioned her as he eagerly ran outside again.

"Slow down son, you have too much energy at this early hour." Malu stated with a huffing laugh as she walked out behind him and they began moving through the village.

Geleel enjoyed his time with his mother deeply, she was the best thing on this planet, she loved him and she never made him feel different.

His father on the other hand...always looked at him with a sneer or a scowl, as if he was the scum of the Earth.

Malu never could explain that to Geleel, how could she tell him he wasn't a chimpanzee? It would break his heart.

However; the boy was growing, he was getting smarter, he could already notice that whilst almost every other Chimp had fur...he was hairless, stuff like that.

He vaguely could remember Alpha stating things like, 'you'll never be a real ape,' and things of that nature...he never could understand it.

Now was not the time to dwell on these thoughts though, he was with his mother, she made him happy to be alive and a part of this troop.

Unfortunately, something had ruined Geleel's mood.

He stopped walking as his mother did shortly after and turned to him in confusion.

"Son? What's the matter?" Malu questioned him as he stood up on his two feet and sniffed the air suspiciously...something was off.

He then grabbed the spear that was strapped onto his back...see Geleel was the only chimp in the troop who's intelligence had given him the ability to craft ACTUAL tools.

Geleel walked forward on his hind legs cautiously.

"Geleel-" Malu is cutoff as a loud roar rang through the troop.

They both turned to notice a few troop members hooting wildly in terror as they noticed the problem...it was a large and robust leopard attacking the troop.

Geleel re-sheathed his spear as he immediately began running towards the problem.

"Son!" Malu shouted as she reached out to her son who was already way too far away.

"Get to safety, mother!" Geleel shouted back as he continued running towards the leopard.

Alpha was already on the case, being that he was the leader.

He had ordered his troop to get to safety whilst he defended them from the leopard.

He bared his teeth, stood up to full height and squared his body to try and make the cat scared.

The leopard roared loudly as it began approaching him, no fear evident in the beast.

It then lunged at Alpha, who dodged and swung at it's head.

The back and forth continued until Alpha accidentally slipped up.

He had wildly swung at the leopard giving it a opening to swipe at his abdomen.

Alpha cried out in pain as his blood spilled out...that attack was almost fatal...

The Chimp King fell to the jungle floor clutching his side as his troop looked on in terror, they were considering helping but...if Alpha, the largest Chimp was bested...what could they do? Even with the numbers advantage...they would be no match for this cat.

The leopard snarled as it walked up to Alpha who gave it a wary yet angered glare.

The cat placed it's clawed paw down onto Alpha's chest as the ape cried out in agony, he was pinned to the floor...surely awaiting death.

Every other chimp that was close enough hooted in sheer fear and disaster as they watched the big cat open it's mouth, poised to finish Alpha off for good...they would be left without their leader...practically dead at that point.

Right as the leopard went to finish Alpha, a loud, undeveloped yell rang through the air as everyone, including the cat turned to it in confusion.

The feline did not expect to see a pair of human feet flying at it's face, as the latter rocket kicked him off of Alpha.

Geleel had made it just in time save the Chimp King...

The other Chimps watched in a shocked stupor...the hairless runt had saved the King?

Alpha was the most confused of all, he watched at Geleel's small framed back as the latter clutched on his spear.

"What are you doing?" Alpha questioned him as Geleel drew in a breath.

"Protecting the family..." He trailed off firmly.

Alpha was left in shock as he let out a cough.

The other chimps hooted loudly...they had never knew the small Geleel would have this much heart.

Here he stood, his small and slender frame, prepared to face off against this giant beast.

The leopard finally stood up as it shook away the pain from the kick...it then glared irately at Geleel with a sneer.

The cat let out a loud roar to intimidate Geleel.

Geleel did not intend to backdown, no matter how terrified he was right now...this was a big cat...he was still going to have to be careful not to lose his young life.

The boy let out a undeveloped and cracky cry aswell, it wasn't very powerful due to the fact he hadn't quite developed puberty wise, but it was enough to let the cat know he wasn't backing down.

"Move little one...you are but an appetizer, you can wait to be eaten." The leopard taunted him.

"If you want to get to him, you'll have to go through me first." Geleel firmly stated to the cat.

"Gladly." It snarled back before lunging at Geleel, and the fight had begun.

The chimps continued hooting as the other troop members had finally arrived onto the scene.

Among them was Queen Malu, who gasped when she noticed her son desperately evading the leopard's attacks.

"No...no this can't be happening..." She repeated to herself as she began fading out...

Geleel had evaded every swipe up until now...

Unfortunately on a wreckless swing of his own spear, the car inadvertently knocked his spear out of his hand.

Geleel looked at the leopard with a fear filled face as the cat knew this was a opening...the boy was defenseless now.

The ape troop began getting frantic again...they knew this was the end...what could such a small boy do against a leopard with his bare hands?

Geleel did the smartest thing anyone would do in this situation...he turned and ran towards a tree that was vacant of any apes.

The leopard immediately chased after him as the latter swiftly began climbing the tree...the former hot on his trail.

The apes followed them with their eyes ofcourse, all the way to the top, what was Geleel planning?

Geleel had to avoid many snaps and swipes at his feet as he climbed to the top of the tree, the leopard was growing tired of this boy, he may have been small and weak, but he was way too quick and nimble for his liking.

Everytime the cat seemed to have Geleel...he would evade or dodge.

Brain over brawn...because the plan Geleel had was something the cat wouldn't expect.

They both neared the top of the tree as Geleel almost slipped off of the top branch.

He steadied himself as be breathed heavily.

The leopard then leaped off the top of the tree as he tried to swipe at Geleel, who inadvertently began falling off the tree along with the cat.

They fell through the different trees and branches as their bodies collided with multiple outsticking branches.

The troop hooted loudly as both the leopard and Geleel fell the ground with two thuds following them.

A dust cloud had formed around them.

Geleel groaned as he clutched his side...his small body was able to sustain a lot of pain...but that still hurt a lot.

He rose to his feet slowly as he noticed the leopard wasn't doing so well either...the cat rose slowly to his four legs as well.

They both glared at eachother...before Geleel noticed his spear in his peripheral view.

Geleel drew in a breath, what he was about to do next would be the deciding factor between survival and death.

And with a swift leap, Geleel lunged towards the spear...the leopard leaped as well.

The boy rolled and grabbed his spear mid roll as the big cat flew threw the air, teeth and claws poised to end Geleel's life.

The young boy swiftly rolled onto his back, spear held high, and struck the big cat right in it's stomach with the weapon as it easily pierced the cat's stomach.

Geleel used the momentum to slam the leopard to the other side of him.

He huffed out as he noticed the cat roaring weakly...blood coming out of it's jaws as it desperately tried to reach out at him...

Geleel looked down at his spear, which was now planted deep into the cat's core, the feline's blood staining the jungle floor.

The boy then stood up as he watched the last of the Leopard's life leave it's eyes.

Geleel then began backing up with some ragged breaths...he did it...he not only killed a foe...he...he protected the family.

He was suddenly brought out of his stupor when a series of loud celebratory hoots rang through the air.

Geleel looked around at the crowd as they all beat against their chest and the ground.

"Now that's the son of a King!" One ape shouted.

Geleel smiled at this...he couldn't believe it...they were finally going to respect him now.

"He's a hero!" Another ape shouted.

"Geleel..." A weak voice stated as Geleel's eyes widened and he immediately turned to it.

It was Alpha...and did he call him Geleel?

"Alpha! Are you alright?" Geleel shouted as he ran over to Alpha and began inspecting the King's wounds.

"I'll live..." Alpha trailed off as he looked up at Geleel.

"You did good...and you protected the family." Alpha stated as Geleel smiled down at him, this was the first time the King was ever THIS nice to him.

"You've grown into a fine ape...I'm...I'm proud of you, son." Alpha stated as Geleel bit back a gasp.

The boy felt tears welling in his eyes...the King had finally began claiming him as a son.

That was a better feeling than anything right now...the hoots, the compliments, the victory...nothing could compare to the feeling he felt when Alpha called him King.

He knew they'd have to separate so that Alpha could go heal but...this temporary feeling was worth it.

Later

It was now night time...no one could honestly believe what happened earlier...whether the attack was more shocking or it being GELEEL...the hairless ape, to kill the perilous foe...but no one was more shocked than Malu as she looked her son's body over in their nest.

She was glad her son was alive...she was glad he protected the family...so young, yet the oldest chimp now knew him as a hero.

"He actually called me his son mother!" Geleel shouted as Malu chuckled.

"I know love, you told me like 6 times." Malu said with a huffing laugh.

"Oh! Sorry!" Geleel apologized as he turned swiftly.

"Hey! Settle down, you're gonna hurt the baby-" Malu cuts herself off as she noticed what she said.

"Wait...baby?" Geleel questioned her as she sighed before nodding.

"Son...I'm pregnant." Malu revealed as Geleel's eyes widened...this...changes...everything.
