All Jon Snow knew in life was sadness, loneliness, and betrayal. The first instance of such was when his mother died giving birth to him, then it was to his Uncle, who had taken him in, declaring that Jon was his bastard instead of his nephew. The third instance happened almost the same time as the last in the form of Catelyn Stark, nee Tully, when she laid her Tully blue eyes on him for the first time. From there he led a lonely life even though he was surrounded by his siblings. The only times he felt not so alone was when he had Ghost at his side.

The last time he felt so betrayed had led to his death. He had been drawn into a trap set by one of his men, Olly, and was stabbed several times by several of his men at the Wall. He remembered how it felt for each blade to enter his body only to be pulled out and thrust back in over and over. He remembered how hot his blood felt as it rushed out of his body through the wounds only to turn cold as it met the freezing temperature. The blood that coated his throat and mouth after one of his lungs had been pierced.

The last noise he heard was the first sound his beloved friend, Ghost, had ever made in his life, a grief filled howl to the hanging full moon above.

"It's time. He's ready."

"It's too bad his life was ended far too soon."

"He'll get this second chance to right the wrongs of those before him. He'll save them, us."

"Good luck, little Prince."

"It's time to wake up, Jaevon, the Prince That Was Promised."

The world came to him in a rush of noises and of blurred images. Surprisingly his first instinct was to let out a loud cry as unexpected cold air enveloped him only to be joined by another cry from across the room. He felt soft cloth encase him and heard the rush of words spoken in another language as whatever wet substance that coated his skin was cleaned off. His body felt weird once Jon was able to think a bit clearer. It felt too small, too uncoordinated to be his own. It was all too soon that he was transferred from one set of arms to another and felt vibrations filling his body making him open his eyes and peering up to someone much larger than he was.

Her silvery white hair was pulled up in a bun, but was mussed up like she had done a lot of work or slept in it. Her pale skin was flushed red and sweat dotted her brow as the woman smiled gently down at him. What caught his eye first however was the bright purple eyes that peered down at him and there was only one family that had them. The Targaryens.

Jon wondered why a Targaryen woman, wherever she had been hiding was news to him, would be hovering over him when he felt another small body invading his space. His body jerked a bit from the sensation and looking over he spotted a babe with flushed red skin and a head full of the woman's same silvery white hair.

"Twins, a true blessing they are. What will their names be, my Queen?" a nursemaid spoke up, the first time Jon was able to understand someone in the room when they spoke.

"Rhaegar my darling silver haired boy, and his twin, Jaevon, his darker haired brother," the woman spoke, her voice gentle and filled with motherly love.

"Beautiful names, Queen Rhaella. Perfect for the Princes. Shall I fetch a pen and paper for you?" The nursemaid asked as she started to tidy the room.

"Later. My husband has much on his plate at the moment, and he doesn't need to leave his fighting to tend to us yet. We're all healthy, yes? Then he will be fine until there is a lull in the fighting," Rhaella said as she set Rhaegar to feed from her breast.

Jaevon, feeling a bit overwhelmed, did his best to piece together what he had discovered. He must have been reborn again after he died. He was a babe once again, laying in the arms of a Targaryen woman, Rhaella, at that. She had been the abused Queen and sister-wife of the Mad King. If he was sure of when he was then the babe beside him must be Rhaegar, his birth father.

"He looks much like the Prince Consort, my Queen," the nursemaid said softly, bursting the bubble of silence that had filled the room.

"He does, and it frightens me so," Rhaella said softly, a gentle pale finger caressed Jaevon's baby soft cheek.

"Because of the King?" the nursemaid bravely asked.

"Very much so. I can't keep him and it breaks my heart," the Queen said softly and Jaevon could see tears filling up her eyes until one drop managed to break free and trail down her paling cheek. The silence once again returned to the room at the spoken revelation and it just made Jaevon worried about the future.

Two years passed since Jon had been reborn as Jaevon, the heteropaternal twin of Rhaegar, and he had learned quite a bit. He learned that his new mother had been married to not only The Mad King Aerys, but also to a Stark man named Aldric as an alliance marriage. He had never heard of Aldric before, but he assumed that it was just a small difference in this new world he had been born into. Jaevon spent a lot of time in the library, to the amusement of those around him who believed that he couldn't read and just enjoyed looking at books, learning of what differences there were between his world and this one. He was so sure that it was truly a different world to his own and not just time travel. Aldric was a large clue on that. There were several new family members recorded and a few he knew had existed that didn't exist any longer in many of the Houses.

There were also the Dragons.

Written history said that the dragons just one day up and left the lands and their riders. There were questions on if they were actually still alive or if they had died, but there was evidence of their continued existence. At the moment there were a few recorded dragon eggs within the bowels of the castle the Targaryens called home waiting for their riders to hatch them, but no one had been successful. It was believed that the disappearances of the dragons caused the Targaryen Insanity.

Other than that he also learned that some male Targaryens had a chance of being born biologically different to other Targaryen males. They were able to carry and bear children like a woman. Embarrassingly enough he overheard his Mother speaking to one of the healers of their home that Jaevon was such a Targaryen male. One day he would be able to carry and birth his own children should he take a husband over a wife. As Jon he did take pleasure from both men and women so it wasn't much of an issue at least now he knew he would have to be much more careful when he bedded a man in the future. Unfortunately there were no other books telling him about the whole process of carrying and birthing so he would be flying into blind should it happen to him.

His once father, Rhaegar, was like a breath of fresh air in his turned about world. The child visage of his father, now brother, was always pulling him from the books to play with him bringing him joy and laughter easier than when he was just Jon, the Stark Bastard. The two were always getting into things much to the amusement of their Mother and at the behest of his caretakers of the Keep they lived in. There were always guards around that were loyal to Mother, and only to Mother, that kept them safe, but Jaevon did try his best to keep Rhaegar from doing anything too stupid.

Today was such a day of joy as Rhaegar had come up with a game to play where one of them would hide while the other seeked them out. Jaevon was hiding in his Mother's wardrobe where there was a clear spot at the bottom just big enough for him to be comfortable. He had been settled in for a moment when the door to the bedroom opened with slight force and the clinking of heels told him that it wasn't his brother that opened the door. Jaevon carefully opened the wardrobe's door just a bit to see that it was his Mother that had entered the room along with one of the caretakers, Miss Carris of one of the lower Houses.

"One week!" Rhaella raged, her face turning red in her anger as she grabbed a bag angrily and tossed it on the bed. "How dare that man!? He left us alone for two blissful years and now he commands us to be at the castle in one week!"

"We must do as the King orders, my Queen," Carris murmured softly as she held back by the door as if to stay away from the angered Queen.

"I know," Rhaella said, calming down as the realization set in. The Queen let out a deep sigh as she sat down at her vanity and for a moment Jaevon was sure she would break down crying as she spoke again. He swore his entire being was tearing apart as he heard what she said.

"I won't be able to see Jaevon again. I'll have to send him away."

"When?"

"Tonight," Rhaella said softly with a sad determination filling her voice, "I'll need you to take him tonight. You have two bags of provisions, you'll need to have Rhodar tacked up before you grab Jaevon. You have the forged papers to show that Jaevon is your son. We have everything in place for this to be pulled off without any problems and pass it off as a kidnapping. We knew this day was going to come. I need you to promise me that you'll keep my son safe."

"With all I am, my Queen," Carris said solemnly, but there was a look to her that screamed protective mother bear, "I will keep the little Prince safe until we can return home."

"Thank you."

Jaevon made sure to spend much of his limited time with Rhaegar and his Mother after that. He was sure he confused his Mother with the time he spent with her, but he didn't care. He was going to have to leave her tonight for reasons he did not know, but he was sure to know one day. He made sure to soak up all the love he could from his mother and to hug her at any opportunity to relish in the motherly hugs. Jaevon didn't know how long he would be away and he was touch starved enough from his past life that it showed in this one.

But all too soon he was on horseback with Carris sitting behind him urging Rhodar to run far away from the safety of his Mother, Brother, and the Keep. He heard Carris murmuring above him, but all he could make out was a prayer so he left her be.

After all, Jaevon now had to think about what the future had in store for him.
