Author Note: I suppose I should explain a thing or two before things officially get going. I was retired for several years and was enjoying it but every now and then, I come on back for enjoyment. The last several stories that I had done are, frankly, not good so I wanted to have a final hurrah, create the best one that I can while I still have time to do it. And this idea has been bouncing around my head for a long time. Yes, it is a crossover of RWBY and Harry Potter ultimately but I will pull from a handful of different stories but hopefully in a balanced measure. No matter what, both these stories have such a huge part to come, I made them the core but that may change in the parts to come. Anyway, I thank you for your time reading this and I hope that you do enjoy it.

For once in his short and halfway miserable life, Percy Jackson felt himself calm. He'd wanted peace for so long and now, he had that in his hands just staring at this golden sunset, golden like Annabeth's flowing hair. Gods, he missed her so much. As he stared at the sunset, he counted off every coordinate that the ship traveled on along the sea, searching for the exact spot. "Can I help you, sir?"
"Ah!" Percy jumped, taking out Riptide and swinging it at his attacker. He caught his breath when his beloved blade was just inches from the captain of the ship, the Seafarer, staring down at him with concern. Percy let out a breath, setting Riptide by the side again. "Sorry, what was that?"
"No worries. I was just asking if there was anything I could do to make your stay more enjoyable on the Seafarer." The captain leaned against the railing, his white brows furrowing. "So, where are you from, young man?"
"What?"
"What mission are you coming from? You're Huntsmen material if I've ever seen such."
"Yeah." Percy let out weakly, returning his gaze to the ocean. Right, Huntsmen. Sounded so much like being a hero but far more lame. It was still such a foreign concept to him, how an entire world gave up generations to give their lives like this. "I just came from Lower Cairne."
"And is Sumire your final destination?" Percy nodded. "Well, I hope you have a safe stay there. You're fortunate to be here, young man. These oceans aren't half as dangerous as some of the waters around Remnant."
"If you say so." Percy grumbled. Please, what could the oceans have that could scare Percy at this point? The captain nodded and wandered off. Percy let out a long breath, finally alone again. He could sense the older man meant well but was pushing himself far too much, something that would get him into a lot of trouble soon. He refocused his gaze back on the water. He could feel the underwater waves rippling against the ship, sealife parting below him. It had only been a month since he found himself standing at the edge of the world, redirecting Akhyls's poison against her. For a goddess of misery, she really couldn't handle her own medicine. Next thing he knew, he was running through the Mansion of Night hoping to come out on the other side safely. He held on to Annabeth as tightly as he could, he really did, but he had run into something inside that palace that made him trip. Fell right into his own little rabbit hole and next thing he knew, coughing up sea water on the bank of some beach before being hauled off to a hospital. Annabeth… Percy's breath quickened, thinking about the panicked shriek she had as he tripped. Did she make it out of there okay? Was she even still alive and safe from Tartarus? Percy had dealt with some strange circumstances, heck it had become common by now, but falling through a hole in Night's Palace into the mortal world again but one he didn't know was one experience he hadn't been prepared for. A world where the moon was shattered basically in half, crystals of dirt gave superhuman abilities, souls giving power and teenagers using that power to fight bloodthirsty monsters? It was like someone took his old life and gave it steroids! The monsters here were easy to fight, the easiest part in Percy's time here. Celestial bronze seemed to have a bad effect on them, worse than any monster he'd ever fought with before. If only he could find…
His thoughts were interrupted when the ship lurched against a particularity violent wave. He heard some of the mortals around him asking if they were scrapping on some rocks below them, but Percy knew better. This had the unique presence and character of a really massive sea monster. The captain had come out again, shouting, "Everyone remain calm! Our weapons systems are coming online now!"
Percy stared out onto the ocean. The technology here may have been remarkable but monsters are monsters and they always found a way around technology. Waves were beginning to form off in the distance; something was coming for them. Something big. Percy unbuttoned his trench coat and threw it behind him. His time on the run from the Gorgon sisters had taught him to keep as little on himself as possible. If he was running for a Guinness world records on spartan belongings, carrying around Riptide that could transform into a ballpoint pen, Riptide being the sword that saved his life more times than he could count, a pair of jeans and a yellow shirt with a red highlights and an orange star emblazoned on his chest, then he stood a pretty good chance. "What are you doing?" Percy looked back at the captain, who look at him like he was a madman.
"Keep these people calm. I'll take care of this monster." Percy said then dove into the water before the captain could protest further. Feeling the cool rush of water pumping through his lungs again gave him fantastic relief, and sharpened his surroundings. The second he landed in the water, he knew every fish that swam around him in the dark ocean of the world these mortals called Remnant. He knew he was exactly 50.36 miles north and 30.41 miles west of an island they called Patch. Remnant. Earth. That still confused him greatly. Last he saw of the mortal world, there weren't any kingdoms aside from England and even Percy was sure England wasn't like these kingdoms. Did he get flung into some strange timeline like Kyle Reese did?
Damn ADHD, Percy shook his head and stared straight ahead. There it was, was one of the creatures the people here called Grimm. The Grimm were far dumber than the monsters he was used to, somehow that was possible, but that didn't make them any less dangerous. Its roar under the waves was proof of that. Such is the ugly mug coming straight for him. All Percy could tell from it was the razor-sharp fin sticking from the face of this Grimm. Gods, it was coming at him fast. Percy held out a hand towards the Grimm, twisting it. The water bent to his will, forming cyclones that made the very ocean shudder. The Grimm thrashed as hard as it could, weaving through the cyclones and opening its maws to eat Percy in one big gulp. Grinning in satisfaction, Percy grinned, holding Riptide in front of him, its celestial bronze surface glowing in the sunset light against the rocks below him. Percy felt a tug in his stomach and a massive wave under the surface went for the Grimm, which to Percy's surprise, this Grimm broke free from from and rocketed towards him. Its mouth opened up wide, showing rows of fangs and a mouth as black as a black hole. It took a single push from Percy to rocket himself forward, hoping the angle was just right. He did his push with a subtle angle that rocketed him above its hide and stabbed downward to try and slice it open, but Riptide could only cut through the top layer of bone no matter how strong he cut. It roared again, Seafarer rocking more than ever, as it jolted past Percy and crashed into the ship.
The Seafarer pivoted violently away, nearly capsizing in an instant but its weight and the anchor that had dropped seconds earlier kept it in place. Percy lifted Riptide and, in a flash, rocketed forward again. He stabbed Riptide into the Grimm's side on its black surface. It whined from pain, taking its attention from the ship and whirling around to glare at Percy with those evil red eyes. Black liquid spilled into the water as it fully turned around, its form practically encircling Percy. Percy held out his non-sword hand, the water contorting around him and holding the monster in place the harder he squeezed. Percy gripped harder still but the pressure wouldn't crush this Grimm. It resumed chomping its jaw in his direction. Percy felt himself breathing harder now. The air of Tartarus still stung his very lungs and despite the wounds from Celestial Bronze, it still had lots of fight left. It glowered at Percy, its hatred undeniable now. Then, to Percy's astonishment, it unfurled a pair of fins from its side just below its gills. It roared once more, knocking Percy back several feet through the water, spinning in place. As Percy tried to redirect himself, he saw the waters calming down around the Grimm and it charging towards him once again. It was so close now, Percy couldn't dodge at all in the water. Only one way to go then. With another tug, Percy gestured towards the ocean floor and felt himself rocket towards the surface from the water's propulsion, breaking the surface as he flew high into the sky. Percy glared down at the water, watching as the Grimm break the surface, its fins splayed out far and gave a large flap.
"I never thought I'd hate fish." Percy muttered, staring down at imposing death as he knew it. At least, for most people. But Percy knew what he had to do. As he fell back to the water, he spun in midair to redirect himself then proceeded to turn around and slash down onto the central jaw of the Grimm. He specifically used the momentum to get near the Grimm's face, slashing into it and a tiny part of its spine that didn't have as much bone armor. Gripping tightly to the face mask where the upper eyelid would be, Percy flipped his grip on Riptide and stuck it deep into its eye. The monster gave another loud roar, water flaking from them both, before it began falling back into the water, its essence no more liquid but rather gas now. 'Like monster dust but black' Percy thought to himself as he landed on his back in the water, staring up at the orange sky.
Percy would never admit this aloud, but that was fun. That was the most fun he had fighting monsters since ever. Not fighting just for his survival, but just for the fight itself. It gave him a sense of purpose that he hadn't felt any other time in life especially when Annabeth had his back. Annabeth…
"Ahoy! Come back aboard." The captain of the Seafarer threw down a life preserver, the other passengers standing at the railing and staring down at him, some in relief and some in fear. Percy didn't care about any of them as he grabbed the preserver which hoisted him up onto the deck. "That was Huntsman material if I've ever seen it. Any of the academies would be fools to reject you after this."
"Glad to know I gave you a good show at least." Percy grinned weakly up at the captain as he laid against the deck. The passengers all huddled around him, talking all at once.
"Thank you for saving all of our lives. We're in your debt." Someone in the crowd, a government man based on his dress, was saying but it all blurred together now.
"Shut up. Just, shut up. Let me sleep the rest of the way." Percy wheezed out. He felt far more exhausted than he should have been. Tartarus took more out of him than he expected. Every muscle in his body ached and he couldn't even keep his eyelids open for a second. He contented himself now with leaning his head back against the cool metal railing as the passengers crowded in further. Had they no sense of space? Darkness overtook him before another thought could enter his mind.
