It was finally departure day for the Royals. For Rhaenys and Corlys, they knew the return journey to Westeros was only the first phase of their journey as they did not plan to stay long in the land that Rhaenys had once been in line to inherit. Rather, they soon would reunite with their children and grandchildren in Volantis.

For Alicent, the day hadn't arrived quickly enough. Her father's plot to ensure she was able to become a mother had failed, epically. Plus, she'd been forced to witness her heathous step-daughter's beyond apparent happiness in her marriage to a nobody and all of the children she'd been able to have that Alicent had been denied. It just wasn't fair that Rhaenyra had been able to carry many pregnancies to term, unlike her mother, while Alicent herself had been unable to have even one successful pregnancy. Now, to her great shame, she was returning home without hands and greatly disfigured. She was Queen for Seven's Sake! She didn't deserve it! Okay, yes, she did try to murder her step-daughter and her entire family and then sliced open her step-daughter's arm, but it was for a good cause. She was supposed to give the realm a Hightower King. It was the Gods' will! She just knew it like how Dragonstone had been destroyed when its volcano erupted and none of the dragons who had made the island their home had been spotted since. Clearly the Seven had destroyed the ancient fortress and the dragons to show their displeasure at the Targaryen's having power over the lands of Westeros.

Now, Viserys, he just didn't know what to think or how to feel. His only child was clearly enamored with her husband, which Viserys still wasn't convinced was actually a good man, and had many children who clearly loved their mother and father. She also had many close friends in her community and really did seem to genuinely love her life in Mercia. However, Viserys just couldn't believe the cruel streak she had seemed to have developed, as what she did and allowed to be done to her childhood friend and step-mother, was more like something Daemon would do than something his sweet child was capable of. Where had his sweet little girl gone? The King had truly wished to take his baby girl, and perhaps a few of her children back to Westeros with him. He had planned to legitimize the children and then promptly arrange good marriages for them to people that his dear friend and good father suggested. As for his daughter, he had wanted her to do a gentler version of the walk of atonement and then he would have arranged for her a far more suitable marriage. If Alicent continued to prove barren, then he could name a son born to Rhaenyra and her Westrosy Lord Husband as his heir. However, it was clear that was definitely not going to happen as his girl refused to leave her pagan man's side nor allow him to take any of their plentiful children with him back to her true home. He was her King and yet she was refusing to obey him!

Right as they were about to board the ship for home, Viserys did not see her daughter near the dock so he requested that she come there so he could say farewell. Shortly thereafter, the Holy Man, Osfeth, came up to him and spoke.

"I beg your pardon, Lord, but Nyra is busy helping her husband Sihtric work on rebuilding their home and has also stated that everything there is left to be said between the two of you has already been spoken. She also does not wish to even have a chance to see your second wife as Nyra said, and I quote, 'Alicent Hightower, my father's whore, is dead to me, now and forever.'"

After saying that, he turned and walked away even as Lord Uhtred and Finan approached.

"Best get on the boat quickly, Yer Grace, less you find yourself facing corporal punishment for overstaying your welcome here," said Finan.

"I want to see my daughter one last time though!" Viserys cried.

"Nyra and Sihtric and their children do not wish to see you ever again. As Finan just said, you are now overstaying your welcome on my Lands and I wish you to leave now."

With a heavy heart, Viserys boarded the ship and within a half hour, left Mercia once and for all.l.
