Due to the pain and torment Viserys experienced in his final years, a large part of him expected that, in the afterlife, he would be reunited with his beloved Aemma, doting parents and grandparents and all of the dead children his Aemma had carried.
This is nothing like what he got.
Instead, he was confronted by the 14 Flames.
They tore into him, showing him precisely every little mistake he had ever made. Then explained the ramifications of each and every little one both in the short and long terms.
If that wasn't bad enough to have the Gods' themselves ripping into him, well, he also had the other Gods', such as the Drowned God, Old Gods', Danish Gods', the Christian God and more all doing the same. The only Gods' that were suspiciously absent was the Seven.
After an indeterminate length of time, Viserys was finally reunited with Aemma.
Viserys was thrilled and believed that now that he had been punished, he had finally earned his eternal bliss.
This was not the case. Aemma railed on him about his abismal treatment of her and their precious daughter. She admitted to being glad that none of their other children lived as she feared what he would have done to them.
When Viserys explained that he only wanted a son, which was what he deserved as the last rider of the Black Dread, and that she had been an endless failure, Aemma punched him in the nose. Had he been alive, his nose would have been badly broken by the force of the punch.
This shocked Viserys. His Aemma had always been delicate and docile so where had this sudden violent streak come from?
Aemma was enraged by the entitlement of the man her grandparents bound her too and who ultimately ordered her murder. However, before she could berate him some more, their parents and grandparents arrived alongside all of their other aunts and uncles.
They had heard what Viserys had told Aemma and now it was their turn to tell him what kind of overly entitled jackass he was and how he had destroyed their family.
Aemon, Baelon and Alyssa also decided that Viserys needed a severe beating so they gave him one that was so severe, he would have been dead a dozen times over or more if he was alive.
Finally, it was the Conquerors turn to arrive and show Viserys their extreme displeasure in their descendant. Aegon admitted that Viserys had never been worthy of riding the Black Dread or welding Blackfyre while Visenya confessed that she knew Viserys would be remembered as being far worse than Maegor ever had been. Yes, Maegor had taken many wives, but he had NEVER lowered himself to being pleasured by or bedding ANY woman who was underage. He also hadn't taken anywhere near as many wives or mistresses as Viserys had. She also accused him of ending many noble lines as he had taken far to many noble girls to wife, which meant that they were not able to birth heirs to the noblemen after wedding them, and he refused to let the husband's of his mistresses even attempt to sire their own heirs on their wives until the girl had birthed him five children, which the Gods' had prevented from happening. Westeros' power structure was on the verge of collapse and all because of the endless greed of their last King.
After what amounted to nearly an eternity, Aemma and all of his otherkin formally and completely disowned, renounced, rejected and cast Viserys out from their family. This was done with the 14 Flames surrounding them and supporting his decision. Viserys would never again experience a life where they were his family.
The once King had never felt so low and really believed that this had to be the end to his suffering. Surely by now he had suffered enough for his sins and he could have paradise? Maybe it wouldn't be with his family, but they had been really mean to him and he didn't deserve all of that. He had only done what he was supposed to so he could have what he deserved and that was power, wealth, glory, women and a plethora of sons.
Yet the Gods' delivered another blow, they told him that since he loved his Hightower's so much, he could be one of them. This made his silver hair turn auburn, hair turn darker and eyes become a blan hazel. He had lost his beloved good looks. Viserys did not think it was fair.
After his appearance was changed, Viserys found himself in a frozen wasteland that the first person he saw told him was Niflheim and was ruled by the Goddess Hel. The name of that man? Kjarten. The sire of Sihtric, Rhaenyra's husband. He told Viserys that there was no way out of that place so they were to freeze for eternity.
This is precisely what happened. The now plain faced former King was never granted another life nor was he ever reunited with any of his women or even his dearly beloved Otto. The once dragon never left the realm of darkness and ice and wandered there until the end of all things.
